The sun is shining here too but it's cold and windy so I'm staying inside. At this time last year I was at the hospital. I knew Johnny was already dead but they didn't stop the meds and treatments until midnight so he was actually pronounced dead on the 30th. I'm trying to keep it together. Crying and feeling sorry for myself doesn't help. I'm going back to Colt's on Friday so Ginger and Chris can go next week and look for houses in the horrible town to where they're moving. Can you tell I'm not happy about this move for them?

I don't know if I'd buy a house if I had to move somewhere so far away from where I live. I think I'd rent first to see if it is where I really wanted to be. Then that would give plenty of time to research the area and make a final decision. I hope it all works out for them...and you as well Bestofour.
We are slowly warming up enough by the afternoon to slowly melt a bit of snow, I can see it has dropped a few inches a day by keeping an eye on my clothesline poles.

I'm not sure what they're going to do about buying or renting. I know they're looking in a specific area so we shall see. Saying that, they have been more than fortunate in finding and then selling their houses. They've always had a place big enough for me for visiting but unless they find a REALLY big place I wouldn't want to live with them. Colt and I told Ginger we need a house with a salt water pool but they've already joined the country club so we may not get our pool at the house  Sunny glad your snow is melting. It's cool here (not cool for you I'm sure) but thankfully it's not windy.

Shelley has a salt water pool and it's so much easier on the eyeballs than a chlorine pool and Colt and I like that  I worked in the yard a little bit today. I'll post in the vegetable garden section if I can find it.

A salt water pool sounds wonderful, chlorine used to flare up my psoriasis when I was younger.
I will be so glad to see April on the calender....my snow should melt within the next month.

Junie, that will give you plenty of time to prepare.  I never played any pranks on GG, she was already upset that school was cancelled and her book for her 'book report' had been left there. She wanted to work on it this weekend because she was a bit behind. I told her I'd send a note to the teacher to let him know she did not have it with her this weekend. It snowed through the night, just a few inches but it just won't let spring arrive it seems.

Oh my, I am so sorry for grand girl. I remember when I was that age, and I completely understand.
Once in 2 nd grade I made my mom come with me to school to explain why I was late...of course butter would not have melted in my teacher's mouth after mom spoke to her, but I would have been all kinds of in trouble if I had of just walked in late. You are a good grammy to write her a note. It will do wonders I am sure.
cake is made, kitchen is cleaned up and dining room table is ready. Supper is at 5:30.

I'm at Ginger's for the week. We went to a popup today and had a really nice time. The weather is beautiful but Ginger is really suffering with allergies. Wonder if allergy things will be different in Mississippi.
What kind of cake Junie? Today I've eaten a cheese danish and a red velvet cupcake.

Both my Valarie and her Daddy like spice cake with peanut butter icing. For that, you just find a good butter creme icing recipe ( or a vanilla one) and when you are creaming the butter at first, add anywhere from 3 to 4-1/2 Tablespoons of creamy peanut butter in with the butter. Then proceed as you would with the regular recipe. It is wonderful.
I made my icing a bit different today, though..... I followed a butter creme recipe from my kitchen aide book. Same amount of ingredients, but it is put together differently. I think it was creamier.
Have fun at Gingers...but then I am sure you will.

Sheri, I think allergies hit people no matter where they go. GB is suffering now with it from the snow melting...it gives off a mold spore situation.
I'm waiting for some of Junie's cake.

Allergies are everywhere..no matter what the situation Sad but true. I hope GB soon has his allergies under control. Sunny you will have to fight with Valarie and her Daddy for any cake you.might want,/get. Sun is Shining here as well. But I think the rains begin tomorrow.

I think some of Ginger's allergies are specific tree allergies and I'm hoping whichever tree it is won't be prevalent in MS. Speaking of MS, Ginger and Chris left this morning in search of a house and Colt and I, at 3:26 PM, are still in our pajamas and have been worthless today and we don't even care He has a dentist appointment in the morning so we will be up and going to Augusta early.

Around 75 degrees here today. We went to the dentist in Augusta, missed the Master's Tournament traffic (miracle), went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, he didn't want to go to Target (first time EVER), didn't want ice cream (shocking) came home, took off his clothes, put back on his pajamas, laying in the bed watching TV, says he's on vacation. I LOVE him.
I'm going to ride Ginger's bike later. Maybe he'll ride with me.

I hope the rain falls lightly Junie. I am 'self cleaning' my oven, I should do it more often....the fumes from the heat is worst than the old way of spraying the oven with chemical cleaner. Maybe I should just stop cooking.

No bike riding today. It is definitely storming out there. Thunder that shakes the house. I'm very fortunate where I live in that we see robins and other birds all year round. They sing more in the spring but they're at the feeders more often in the winter. We've already got a wren in a nest and the bluebirds are building one. And I'm not home, but I hear the hummingbirds returned this week. Should have put out my feeders. Junie I only turn my oven on when I'm not going to be home. A person who stayed with my dog Andy a few months back actually took the door off, took the glass apart, and cleaned inside the glass and took the shelves out and scrubbed them. Good friend huh.

My neighbor has a lot of birds...I may see a few hummingbirds, and a very few goldfinches, but that is about it. And then there is one robin..BUT I keep trying though.
My oven self cleans itself as well. I really need to do that, Sunny........and Sheri....could you please send your oven cleaning friend over to my house. I would love to have a clean oven.

Stay safe Sheri. They have told us not to put out bird feeders yet here, there are cases of Avian bird flu in our province. I just scatter bird seed on the snow here and there, the birds have to eat and it is slim picking at the moment. We were just told that there is another variant here...Omicron XE. It is never going to end it seems.

Avian flu is highly unlikely to injure or kill your backyard birds or infect your feeders is what websites are saying here in the US. I live in an area that has a lot of poultry farmers so I hope it goes away or gets under control.
We're still having bad weather which is supposed to continue through tomorrow. The sun came out today for about an hours and then poof - rain and lots of it and wind.

Happy anniversary Junie. Sheri, it is being spread here in wild birds...and a few 'home flocks'. They are trying to get it under control before it gets out of hand. We have to call a number to get all 'found dead birds' picked up for testing. Today will be a cleaning day, the repairman arrived to fix the water heater last night.

Sheri, it seems that people are finding them in the Southern part of our province....we still have lots of snow in the Northern part so the migrating birds are slower to arrive.

Maybe all that snow isn’t such a bad thing Sunny. Not sure how long the virus takes to kill a bird but hopefully the sick ones will die out before they get to you. Sounds mean but if a bird is sick….

Sounds pretty..especially the sparklies. It is warm here.....in the 70's. But very windy. Somewhere around 30 miles per hour...so it feels much colder than it is.

I didn't sleep again last night - too much coughing BUT I do think I feel a bit better today. I put out my hummingbird feeders this morning and they've already found it!!!

Sheri, yay for feeling a bit better. Please continue to rest. Oh my goodness... Hummingbirds ! I am so happy for you......and envious.
I think my time to look for Hummingbird s is around April 15... So I will put my new hummingbird house ( yes I found one) and my feeders out on Easter Monday. The HB's really prefer my neighbors yard as she has 4 very large fir trees and then she feeds them. But I am still trying to entice them to visit my yard.

My daughter and grandson have Covid. They have sore throats and aches and fevers but are fairing out o.k.
Easter will be put off here until the end of the month.

Our plans are put off for two weeks, my mother was in contact with her siblings who have covid. We'll have our family meal at the end of the month....hopefully.
GG won an Easter contest....it is a large basket of treats and toys but she is waiting for the end of the month to open it so she can share with her brother.

Actually the sitting with a hit drink watching it snow, sounds fun and peaceful. But I understand that snow gets old. If you see the Easter bunny you can remind him that he forgot me as well. Grrrrr
My DD and the Grands went to church with us, we ate at the church, and the the kids came here and got their Easter baskets. Rod made coffee and I had made a coffee cake.
It was a good morning, even if they were here a short time.

There is no snow here in Southern Missouri, but it is not so warm. In the next few days it is supposed to be in the 80's then get cooler again. I will be happy when the cold is gone. Of course, then I will complain about the heat.

LOL...sorry, Sunny. But remember us this summer when we here will be sweating to death with our hot temps and your weather will be warm but not blistering. You can rub it in to us then.
