Hi Shani, nice to have you back with us.

I am going on strike today....I am wondering if someone else will shovel out my windows? Any takers? lol

IMO a strike is an excellent idea. That way your family will quickly learn what all you do for them.

I will send my DH over. That will be a two-fer. You will get your windows dug out, and he will not be here for awhile. bow

What a surprise to see that Shani posted. I still have spring flowers from seeds that she sent me years ago.

Just don't tell what's in the package. Small things are often missed. I don't remember sending seeds but sounds like something I would do. I can barely remember yesterday let alone years ago. With three kids running around here my mind gets turned around daily.

lol Kids will do that to you.

My post office is very strict, they want to know exactly what is in a package but one could probably send them in a card without having to declare what is in it.

Shani, What part of Ontario is Mulmur located? I have family from Trenton to Kitchener there.

I like watching the documentaries on Netflix. Last night I watched one about Boeing. Interesting. Right now I'm watching Aurora Teagarden - silly but I like it.

Aurora Teagarden is one of the 4 I wanted to watch. I recorded it and after " All Creatures Great and Small" was over I watched it.
The documentary about Lincoln was on for a second time after I watched Aurora, but I was tired, so I am hoping I can get it "On Demand" in the next day or so.

Sleep Well my friends.

I go to bed early so I am very thankful that I can set shows to record...I'd never get to watch them any other way. lol

It is Family Day here with a storm to follow tomorrow. Between the holidays, weather and Covid....it is a hit or miss for the kids to have a chance to go to school lately.

Well see, I had 4 shows to watch and I can only record 2 at a time...and when I am recording 2 I have to be watching one of the 2 (or not watch TV at all) So I recorded Aurora Teagarden and Rod's " All Creatures Great and Small" in case something happened and we did not get to watch it all. He waits all week to watch it and last night was the season finale.

I had been living Just north of Mansfield, in a big old schoold house, but due to a series of unfortunate events we ended up having to sell that place. After that we bought a seasonal trail and camped for the summer, travelled that winter (pre-covid) Camped again for the summer, then settled down Guelph Ontario. Which is where I am now. Guess I should change my profile...

Shani, I have a nephew in Guelph. We have many relatives in Kitchener and Cambridge also.

Our new neighbours moved here from Barrie this Summer...they were retiring and wanted a 'country' setting for their later years.

Junie, I'll take that offer of sending Rod to help me move snow....today has been a long one.

Come on down guys. You'll be ready to leave when the humidity and mosquitos realize it's spring. Wasps are already buzzing my windows.

I just did something I haven't done in years - I ate a bowl of Cheerios. I couldn't get cheerios off my mind. How weird is that?

I said I was going to give myself a year to decide what I should do about moving and life in general. Next month is a year and I'm no closer to making any decisions than I was a year ago. I feel like I'm stagnating. The only people I've seen since Sunday are the lady who gave me my allergy shot and the sales people at Lowe's.

I think you do not need to be in a rush to make such a major decision. Relax, take it slow. WHEN/IF it is time to move you will know, Sheri.

And BTW: I love Cheerios. I may not eat them every day, but I always have a box of them in the house.

Bestofour, don't make such a decision based on a timeline. You'll know when the time is right. kissie

It is another cold day here, the wind is terrible. I should be making a grocery run but I think I'll wait another day.

Most definitely!
Once all this snow is gone and the weather warms. Hubby got me a small (4'x8') green house for me birthday last year so I'm looking forward to setting it up next month to start some stuff early.
Last night was -19C (2F) here so the plants still have to wait a bit. I have 5 garden spaces here.

The front of the house North facing is deep shade, its adjoined to my neighbours do we each care far 3feet x 8 feet. We did it up woodland style, so the two gardens flow into each other A big mass of plants. One day when we can afford it (or the kids get strong enough to do it, we want to take the garden right down the the street (another 30 feet or so).
Garden 2 borders the back deck, so full southern exposure. 2ft x 8ft.
Garden 3 turns the corner joining 2 and 4. it's 5x5ft approx. with the cut corner for joining gardens smoothly Has a huge, dying lilac in it, Almost no blooms. Full shade under.
Garden 4 funs down the western side 2x25feet. Lots of raspberries, strawberries and veggies like it there for the morning light.
Garden 5 is my trouble spot. It was the pre-existing garden when we moved in. At 4x10 feet its a mess of weeds I can't control, it's against the back fence so its mostly shade. I'd like to rip out everything that's there and put in a rain garden, as that area always stays wet after it rains.

I want to expand everything, but the kids need the space for playing still.

Tell me about your gardens

As soon as I can get out (when the ice is gone,) I will measure what I have...

My back yard is 95% Bermuda grass. It's roots can go down at least 6 inches, so unless I want to either surround a garden with metal plates driven over 6 inches down, or be constantly trying to weed out grass from my vegetable beds, I have to do some kind if deep container beds. That is still on the drawing board.

I haven't decided if I'll plant anything this year. I'm back and forth with it. BUT, if I do, I'll plant in 4 raised beds and an inground spot - haven't measure it but the last few years I planted cucumbers, green peas, and black eyed peas there. It's too late this year to plant green peas and I haven't eaten the black eyed peas from year before last so it will probably only be cucumbers. I'll just have tomatoes, okra, cucumbers, and I'll plant squash in straw bales.
