Hello, Tina..how are you ? We have been worried.

Wet in one area, dry in another...and so it goes....

We went to an old mill today. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Golly where is everyone ?? Usually this only happens in late spring and summer when members are. Out in their yards & gardens.

So I will say goodnight and sleep tight. See you all tomorrow.

lol Junie, I have been outside while we have a dry morning.. I started raking leaves, then fixed the fencing that the deer keep breaking. I keep getting side tracked by DH's chores and not tending to mine.

That must be an overwhelming decision to make Tina, I wish you the best in finding the perfect new home. kissie

It is a cold, damp day. I think I should do my 'clean and mop' routine. I can't get a few dry days in a row to start my flooring in the bedrooms.

I feel like I'm in a holding pattern and whatever I'm waiting on never materializes. It's driving me crazy.

Very dry here and no rain in site for at least the rest of the month. Not good.

They just announced that we are going in a two week lock down again, no visiting anyone even if it is outside....we can't even leave our area to travel to a neighboring one. It's a good thing I just went to get my banking done since that area is not included in my lockdown.

I'm very glad you got your banking done as well. We have never gone into such stringent lockdowns. My lockdowns were a personal choice
UK had Covid run through and then had the Delta variant through. Now they have a possible new variant striking people harder than the Delta. I hope they can contain it. I feel for them.

Tina, I heard them talk on the news about the new variant...they said it is forming from Delta.

The death rate is climbing here. Our elderly were the first ones vaccinated so the effectiveness is wearing off. We have a nursing home just 20 minutes from here and they have had 5 residents and a 40 year old worker die this past week, another 19 have tested positive. They have moved in campers for the workers to isolate in on the property. I am praying this 'lock down' helps improve things. The southern part of the province has been in lock down for two weeks before us.....they had to close schools there.

My monthly errands are done so I am good until the third week of November.

So happy you are stocked up, Sunny. I was looking at my extra stash of items last night. I need to get a few items in agsin. I have plenty of canned and a few things in the freezer, but a trip to the meat market would be a good thing.

Raining here.

Yes, I love cabbage in soup and stews. Yummy.

It is very cold today, I wouldn't be surprised if our showers turn to flurries through the night.

I've never put cabbage in chicken soup. How did it turn out. I imagine it changed the taste quite a bit. I always put it in vegetable soup. Just realized I don't know how to downsize a pot of soup for one person. I guess I could freeze some of it.

We had our 50th class reunion last night. Boy are we OLD.

Sunny, does that nursing home always posts about deaths or is this something new because of Covid?

so I'd have to leave potatoes out of vegetable soup? Not sure I'd like that.

Well if you want to freeze.some, you have 2 options, either cook the potatoes on the side and add the cooked.potatoes to each helping, or cook it as you always do but remove the potatoes from the soup when freezing portions.. You can cook a potato when you thaw a serving. That is how I do it. and if I am being honest, I cook noodles on the side for my soups instead of potatoes. You "can" freeze potatoes and noodles, but they will be mushy when thawed and warmed. Try freezing one serving with potatoes in it and see what you think.
