We had a busy day today, we cut down and delimbed three fir trees, one spruce and one cedar from my backyard. Tomorrow I'll try start dealing with the stumps....small trees look nice but the tall, larger ones are trouble in storms.

I only have 3 trees in my yard. One is more of a bush ( magnolia tree). And one is about 3 inches around..so really only 1 tree is actually a "tree". Yet..I guess planting the 2 will make the next owners happy. We also have a 1 foot pecan tree, but DH says it is dying.I

I still have trees left but they are maples and cedar. I also have several shrubs but the trees had to go, they were getting too tall and cumbersome with the heavy snows in Winter. We cut down two in the front of the house before, then these in the back....my lawn looks so much larger now. I will have to burn out the stumps next spring....they were impossible to try pull out. Oh well, now there is no way to have any damage to any buildings with the trees that are left so all is good.

Here is a silver maple. It is far enough away from the house, that even if it gets tall, it will not fall on the house. The one "real-sized" tree is very close to the house, but it too will stay. Been sleeping today..in between my phone waking me up.

The sad part is there were no trees on our property at all, we planted them from saplings we found in the woods. We weren't smart enough to put them in the right places at the time.
Covid is running rampant in our area once again...this time it is the Delta variant.

Sweet dreams and stay safe. Yes Tina, they mandated full masking at school as of this morning, I kept GG home yesterday until I could find out more info. There was one case at GB's after school day care so he was tested last night as well as DD and her boyfriend. They had to stay home yesterday and today as well while they wait for their results. Both have still not gone for vaccination's yet either. We will get a new update for our province Wednesday. I hope they put the 'vaccine passport' into effect. They'll have no choice but to get vaccinated then.

Covid testing was negative for DD and family. They are going to announce new protocols today...I hope masking again is one of them.
Pouring rain here. I just mopped myself into a corner for a few....my floors really needed it.

2 of my friends felt sorry for me and took me to the beach last week. It was a lot of fun. Made me feel a lot better about life in general.

Good evening. We had an outdoor visit with DD today, her b-day is tomorrow but GG wanted to go today. They are calling for frost again tonight...it is getting hard to keep it at bay off the few plants left in the garden.

I only have two tomato plants and a few pepper plants that I have to keep the frost from, the cukes are done and I already dug out the early potatoes....just the carrots and red potatoes left until the end of the month. I put in and piled half the wood in the shed today, I'll finish the rest tomorrow. It's time to start the Fall prep sadly.

Sorry for that, Sunny. I wish you could see my 3 tomato plants. They would make you feel good, I am sure. The heat down here,and.living in pots has done a.number on mine. I am sure you have taken excellent care of yours. Enjoy them as long as you can ! Will you have enough green peppers to make some stuffed peppers ? Or do you make relish with them ?

The concert in the park is over. I am very glad that I cannot hear it much. And Fri thru Monday is too long to put up with the youthful campers. But they are gone now and I probably won't be here to complain about them next year.

I was wondering that about Tina as well, Sunny. So I guess we are both nosy.  " They" say cooler weather is headed our way by tomorrow. But then back up into the 80's by the weekend. Where did summer go ? IMO this staying in most of the time has things all messed up Good Morning

Tina, I do hope you find a new place that suits you and your family well. The wood for the Winter is all in and corded up...today I will re-stain the back of the shed. I stained the rest last year but the wood was piled against the back. Our Fall to-do list is going well...knock on wood. Outings are good Junie...and few and far between these days.

We just took Rhonda, the resident dog, for a walk...first one I have been on on awhile..I should do it more often.

Tina I must apologize for not saying so earlier.....Rod got her from a shelter in mid-July. She was thin and really scared. She is doing well now. She will be 1 year old sometime in October.
She is a mix of Labrador retriever, american blue healer, and some type of Shepard. She weighs about 41 pounds now.

Well I am sorry you cannot get one..but truth be told, I did not want the work one requires, so the care for "Rhonda" is all on DH. All I do is let her out at night one last time, as Rod goes to bed too early to do that himself.

Back in....
We are pretty sure it was a "shelter" name. But we asked, and were told that was the name she came to them with, So Rod thought to keep it.
Either way, that is her name now.

Speaking of dogs, once Andy gives up the ghost I won't get another one. No one believes me but I'm tired of dealing with the upkeep and I'll probably never find a better dog so I'm hoping I can stick to it.

See Sheri, that is exactly how I feel. I do not want to clean after a dog now eother.
Our "Dante" was a rare dog..he never went potty in the house .he knew how to act, never accidentally knocked over anything, was never in my way, I could have put my dinner plate down on the floor, and he would not have touched it. Also, he somehow knew the boundaries of our yard..(there were 2 for him to learn) but he rarely left our yards.
.
Our dog now...wants people food to the point that she won't eat her dog food, in the hopes she gets people food, and she gets as close to my plate as she can I am certain if I did not shoosh her away, she would clean my plate for me. Plus one of these days I am sure I will fall over her..and she loves to push her nose up against my legs ( and other places
Dante would never do that to me..as a matter of fact, when I was not doing well, he slept cross-wise in the hall, so he would know if anyone came close to me.

I cleaned up my garden last night...the only thing left in it is a few carrots for the momma deer and her baby that have been visiting through the night. It is a sad thing to see it empty but I am so thankful for the harvest this year....it was a bountiful one. We had a hard frost this morning...everything was covered white like snow. GG told me that we have to celebrate Fall as of today. Apparently that means I have to pick her up at school, take her to look for beach glass at the ocean side, then to pick leaves in the woods and then top it off with a feast at the local takeout. (I think she planned it today because the kids told her the takeout closes tomorrow for the season)  Junie here is a pic of the new door that GG took for you.

I got lucky last night. My SIL gave me a small bowl full of his fall bearing blackberries. That sure was a treat !

I had to give in and turn on the electric heaters today....it is not cold enough to start the wood fire but damp enough to need a little warmth.

Yes, I hate this time of year for that..some days you need heat in the morning and A/C or fans in the afternoon..
