Well, my mother took the two kids today so I get a day to myself. Guess what I plan to do with it? ...I am taking the day and getting out to the malls. I haven't done it in so long and I think it is time to get myself out and about, safely that is, but I am kind of excited to just go. lol My life is so boring, isn't it? haha

Honestly, I have bills to pay and a fix it list to fill with supplies and groceries to get at the same time but I just want to go 'look' at what I haven't seen in over a year.

The kids are here again today. Mom teaches summer school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We have all sorts of trouble at the malls in Charlotte. I mostly stay away from most of them.

Oh my, now I am worried about Sunny.......I hope she checks in early in the morning.
I am hoping she just spent so much time "window shopping" that when she came home she was too worn out to come in this evening.

I will say goodnight now. Sweet Dreams.

I'm safe...there were too many people so I stayed away from most places. I did go to the bank, grocery store and dollar store though. People are going out and about as if it were 'normal' times, it was scary. It was not an enjoyable trip as I hoped but at least the monthly bills are paid.

Yes, "they" think all is normal here as well. It is hard to go out.

Today it is a Drs. Visit type of day. Nothing wrong, it is just routine.

At least you got out Sunny. That was a good thing.

I hope all goes well at your Dr visit, Carol.
Looking at a mass of people, wanting to participate, thinking about that stray Delta variant that can't hurt you much but can permanently damage your unvaccinated kids at home. Yes, I know that feeling, Sunny.

Yay for being completely vaccinated. Good for you, Sunny.

About the Delta variant.....I worry daily about my 8 granda. The oldest will be 9 in October,
And then my triplet grands are 5 and IMO very susceptible to any disease, esp. a respiratory infection. and sadly they go to "real" school this fall. Very worried am I.

Ages:
one born in 2012
Two born in 2014
Four born in 2016
one born in 2018in

All too young for.vaccinations.

Tina..I just had to go get my Prolia injection for my bones. I get one every 6 months.

I am glad you get the prolia and that it appears to be working for you, Carol.
And, yes ladies, the variants are worrying me too. Tangela was re-infected about a month or so after recovery. Delta? We don't know.
Six children are in ICU in Mississippi with covid now. The delta variety is harder on them than the original.
About 2-3 weeks and you'll be as thoroughly protected as we're able to protect now, Sunny. But people are testing positive even though the antibodies are working. We don't know what that's telling us about it.

Tina, is Tangela o.k. now? It is scary for what lies ahead.

I am still fighting with my mother to get vaccinated. I told her that is she does not make her first appt by the end of the month then for her to stay away from here. She won't stay home and I have had enough. She told me that I couldn't stop her from seeing GB since he lives with his mother so I told her fine, remember he is here 4 to 5 days out of the week for DD to work.....those days will all be yours now. thumbup

I am feeling a little yucky today, sore stomach and achy.

Good morning.

I feel bad for you, Sunny. I hope your mom changes her mind. I realize that I am so very fortunate in that all my family, and Brian' s all that can get vaccinated have done.so. Even the one little that is old enough. She will be 13 in August and so got her vaccinations as soon as it was allowed. Her mommy is a nurse practitioner that is going to school for her phd. If there were a problem I feel she would know.

Sunny, I have heard that sometimes the second Shot can cause ill feelings for a day or two. Hang in there, it will soon be ok.

Yes Tina, how is Tangela doing now ?

Rained heavily off and on all night. Was doing so again at 5:30 here. Valarie and I decided to not go to church this morning. I was glad if that. I did not think it was a good idea to take the 4 littles down the interstate in heavy rains and possible storms anyway.

Raining again. Tina, have you gotten any rains ?

Does anyone know where my big hair pins I use with my rollers are ?? I can't find them. why

But hey, at least there is coffee.

No plans...it is hot/humid here today.

I might dig around some flower beds for a bit before I cool off with a shower. If I lived where Tina lives, I'd live in my bathtub. lol

I feel sorry for me too. But I feel for Sunny when she's buried under 20 feet of snow. Or tornadoes bearing down on Carol. Etc.
But I am feeling for myself now. It is very hot here.

I think we have gotten a record low amount of rain this past year. Our year is counted from July first through June 30th. The previous record was about 4.3 inches, I think. This year was less than that but I'm not sure of the total. A mega drought and we're running out of water. Our fruit crops are burning up on the trees with the heat before ripening. It's a sad thing and not going to improve much.
Haven't had a drop here for months. Not even fog.

I'm feeling sorry for myself too but for reasons other than weather. Today is our anniversary. I've tried to stay busy and I'm sick of myself for feeling so pitiful. Did I tell you guys I'm giving most of his clothes and shoes to a nurse who said the hospital has a clothes closet for homeless people who are sick or injured and don't have clothes when they leave the hospital? I've seen people on the streets in scrubs and never put two and two together. If a persons clothes have to be cut off, or they're bloody, or filthy, or lost when their in the hospital then they don't have anything to wear when they leave so they're given scrubs. Johnny was always taking his clothes off and giving them to people on the streets so he would love this.

Bestofour, that is a wonderful gift that you are giving in memory of your husband. kissie

Tina, I do not know what will happen to your state. Do they have scientists or engineers trying to come up with a solution? There has to be a way to irrigate from other places no matter the cost.

Good morning.

Sheri, that is a wonderful way to honor Johnny. From what you say, I am sure he would be very happy with your choice.

Tina, that is so very discouraging. But yes, don't the owners of the fruit farms irrigate ?
All in all it is sure a sad situation to be sure.

Sunny, you would find a way to deal with the heat....I stay in a lot. If I have outside work to do, I go out late of the evening. But I have only been to California one time and the heat wad not so bad then.

We have for years bought a lot of water from neighboring states. We have managed water by building lakes and dams and reservoirs for many years. But those all rely on source water. Rains or snow somewhere, anywhere. That's not happening. The drought covers many states.

I haven't forgotten the 6 or 7 years or so that we were in a drought. Nothing as bad as CA but it was dry for a long, long time. It was no fun. I'm appreciative of the rain falling outside right now.
