All fresh and new.
We got a nasty lightning storm last night, I hope the rain we got was enough to keep any fires at bay.

The sun is shining, it looks like it will be a nice day. I am heading out in a few minutes to plant some lupine seeds. I have had them soaking in damp paper towels for a week....some have already started to sprout. We planted Hollyhock and 'forget me not' seeds the other day. I love getting seeds from people from their gardens and having then re-sprout in mine.

They probably are. I always soak my seeds for a few days in wet paper towel in a plastic baggie. It speeds up the germination.

Glad that you got.rain, Sheri...Lots of rain is a.good thing. I leave my 7 gallon gardening bucket out when it is forecast to rain. Then I strain it into gallon jugs to use on my houseplants. Ok I will soak my seeds as you suggested.........Thanks a lot, Sunny. Goodnight everyone. Sweet Dreams.

If we could only share our rain with Tina.  It is supposed to be a hot day here because of the incoming hurricane, I have the air conditioner set up to cool down the house. This is the last week of school for the grands...one is happy, the other is not.

Wow! Not.happy about.school ending. I like to hear that.
Right now it is in the low 80's..in a few hours it.is supposed to be in the high 70's..I will believe that when I see it.

We just get the tail end with wind and rain....it is supposed to hit 96*F today, strange weather for this time of year. I just noticed that I have deer tracks in my flower bed.

Hi all,
Junie you are warmer than us! only 92* here today, it is strange weather... .... we went out for a late breakfast today..was first time in months... hopefully won't be last... people in this state are not getting vaccinated .... will never understand their rights to risk others lives ... just me thinking love thy neighbor is just lip service for some people....
Just finished paying bills and now need to clean this office up some... file the pile of crap on top of my file cabinet and dust... always something to get done I guess...
We did go and see kids , good thing too cause they are all now working at the store... well the 3 still at home.. oldest got back to work for the mines... he like physical labor and being outdoors... still have trouble believing youngest is old enough to work... 16 , time flies !
Well off to get my vacuum and dusting stuff out... have a good afternoon all...

Hi Nana, I can't believe the youngest grand is 16 already....time really does fly.
There are bad thunderstorms on the way, they have some rotation in the clouds about a four hour drive from here they stated. Hopefully nothing touches down from it.

I can't believe he's 16 either. How can that be right?
We got 3 inches of rain yesterday but it was hot and dry today. Rain is supposed to come back tomorrow though and then maybe into the 80's for a few days. I'll be glad for the cool down.

We need rain but the humidity is causes is awful on the elderly/sick...wearing masks as well is difficult for them. It is so humid today that I plan to hide inside, well I'll have to feed the calf later but that will be it.
I am still waiting for my flooring to come in at the hardware store so I can finish fixing my bathroom.....leaks cause the worst damage. My bathroom is a total mess at the moment.

Today the weather is in the 70's. I will take advantage of the low temps and work outdoors...when the coffee is gone.

That us a very good question, Sunny...But I am thinking we were wanting to get away from bad roads and the bitter cold....But this heat is almost as bad.....and of course, your flies. I am so sorry for you.
I was out about that long yesterday and the day before....at my house...then around 2-3 hours at my DD's picking berries between last night and the night before. night
Then another 2 hours this morning here. Hopefully another 2 or 3 hours outside tomorrow will have me caught up here.

I will be baking chicken legs tonight. DH won't notice the heat...he stays out if the kitchen.
Only in the low 80's here so far. But unless I need to water, my yard work is done...for now,.......so yay !

 me too, Tina. What I do not like is these new washing machines do not allow you to soak clothes, and I have no deep sink at.this house. But, I do have good stain removing sprays, so I am letting some pieces lay with spray, and I will wash a load early tomorrow. But yes, it is fun..I will say Cora loves wearing dresses, so I even have a few of them as well.... Yes, such fun ! Goodnight Tina, and everyone else too. Sweet dreams to you all.

I remember the days of a line full of white diapers, they were hard to wash but a sight to see. I don't think we'll ever see a line of them again anywhere.

Yes me too. When we moved to the farm, I was so p!eased/surprised that my husband had added a clothesline to my beautiful yard. Without telling me. .  A load of laundry is in the washer (still short people clothes, Tina) and a yellow cake is in the oven ! Now there IS coffee.

I dont know.....but I would love to find out..I have not seen any lines, not even in the older houses here, so I bet not. I too love the smell of sheets and clothes when they are dried on the line. I esp like the spring when it is windy, because then the towels are soft but yet have that wonderful fresh air smell. I also found in the spring the sun bleaches out stains...yep, gonna have to check on getting a clothes line.

GG and I just went through her room to do a big purge. The woman's shelter is going to be glad to get the three boxes of 'like new' but too small and too old to play with items. The teddy bears go to the animal shelter to 'calm' the animals in cages.

Well I know some organization's that are going to be happy. You are a better person than I am. I would look at the items, remember a time that my child/grandchild loved it, and then want to keep it myself as a momento.
I think today is a play with my "murder game" type of day.

Yea about the rain..Mother nature should really read her mail better....
There has been and will be a chance.of rain here all week but so far it rains.for.about 1 minute and that is all. They say the greatest chance is Thursday and Friday. My grands have swim lessons this week poor babies

I am back. we lost our internet for almost a week, called , no repair person showed.. still didn't work... not a happy camper... hubby called them again. they had the nerve to say according to them it was working fine..... uhhhh no.... asked for a supervisor... this is company hubby worked for for 44 yrs.... again said it was working fine... asked for his supervisor... finally got someone who admitted no one could find a tkt on any repair order... so informed them we had number of said tkt and requested repair again by the next day... they finally showed up and lo and behold.. someone had disconected our second line and the first one wasn't connected all the way... he fixed it and gee whiz it worked again..... they sure don't care about service anymore.... hubby is about to call his old friends who still have keys to boxes to get a set so he can fix stuff himself.... LOL! they wouldn't know since they can't tell working from nonworking evidently...
Well got to go find something to eat.. spent to long paying bills and cleaning my ofc... to easy to let it go an it was a mess... now nice an clean for a while anyway....
Have a good rest of day and evening all.... it's hot here 90* and was supposed to rain... could tonight I guess... we need it for sure..

Talk about not caring about service - my stepdad had a stroke Friday night and is in the hospital. He is a fall risk. I was in his room today, he scooted to the edge of his bed (which wasn't an emergency situation since I was there), the fall alarm went off, it rang until we couldn't bear to listen to it anymore - about 15 minutes - I turned it off myself, no one ever came.

No I didn't file a complaint. He's going to rehab tomorrow so hopefully he'll improve. My mother has a caregiver every day until 4:30, then someone comes in and check on her around 7, and then again at 10:30 so he wasn't doing anything much for her anyway. But right now she's with one of my sisters.
I've got so much to do and can't get motivated to do anything.

Thanks, there was no Canada Day celebrations this year though due to the scandal of unmarked graves at all the residential schools in the Western part of Canada.

We were under a frost warning last night...and it hit. I was prepared but I bet many were not. Our weather is jumping from extreme heat to cold within days. We had a season like this many years ago where we had frost every month. It is frustrating.
Our youngest God daughter(niece) graduated and my SIL is having a family gathering for her today, it will be the first time that family is gathering since the pandemic.

It is a mix Tina, I use a hand blender and puree the garden strawberries but leave a few chunks as well. I then cook it with pectin to make it jelly type consistency.

Stay safe Bestofour, we are watching the track of it at the moment. The last time a storm like that went through here(as it is showing the same path) some places here were 5 days without power. We were two days without....the reason why we bought our generator the following year. Long story ahead....DD dropped a bottle of shampoo in our acrylic tub many moons ago and cracked it, we repaired it and installed a shampoo dispenser so it would never happen again. Well, yesterday I stood on the tub edge to refill it and had the long, 'sharp' cover in my hand. I stepped down and slipped on the new shower mat(which has no grips) and fell. That was bad enough...but I fell with my hand on the underside of the cover. I now have a hand full of stitches...and of course it had to be my right hand. That being said, DH is outside at the moment using the push hand mower around the trees and flower beds....the neighbors are going to think I died(he never mows).
