I picked up Colt today. He's out of school for a few days. He doesn't know why and neither do I. Do they get a break for Valentines Day now?

GG is off to school, excited to have a little class party for Valentine's Day. We have no active Covid cases in our little zone so that means that GB can come for a visit this weekend, he is so excited. Bestofour, Monday is a holiday here...Family Day. They just made it a holiday a few years ago.

Yes, I can see where it would be, Tina. Sorry I was not in this a.m.
This morning when I had not been up long, the girls video called me on Duo and we talked for well over an hour...then I went downstairs to try to order the girls their birthday gifts..well, it.was.near impossible.to buy clothes when.noone likes.pink...then one does not like orange, or green and one does not like green I forget what other color. I finally gave up and bought then July 4 th short sets.
There will.also be a few play things and I will buy them something later when mom sees what she still needs for them to get thru the summer....

Tonight I made a Red Velvet Dream cake with white fluffy icing. That is Rod' s
Valentine's Day gift.
I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to put red sugars on it..
Kinda proud of myself.

You are not alone, Sunny. When I try to read my e-mail this tablet freezes. So I have to close out, go away wait awhile go back and try again. Eventually it will work. The other day, it would not turn on. Seems it is always something.
7*F outside here. The feels like temp is -12. Brrrrrrr

Well, it snowed yesterday, stopped at midnight and began again this morning around
9 am. It is still snowing. And it is very windy....and very cold.
some weather man said he had to look into the archives as he could not remember weather slike.this. SO glad to hear it.

We've had nothing but rain. No snow here. And speaking of red velvet cake, Ginger sent me a box that when the lid is taken off, butterflies fly out of, and it had a little red velvet cake in it. A fun gift.

I've seen those butterflies(they had an elastic band), if you wind them....they'll fly again.
The problem with my computer is that I can't shut off Windows updates, my old computer I could....it freezes in the update half the time.
There is no school today, we are in the middle of another nasty storm.....a foot of snow followed by freezing rain late this afternoon.
I made a large pile of snow in the back of the house from where I shoveled the roof off(for the kids to slide off)....well yesterday GB decided to jump off it, hit the vinyl siding against the house and busted a big hole in it. Cold weather and vinyl do not mix. I still haven't replaced the pieces damaged by the hail storm years ago. I guess I will add that to the 'to do' list for this Summer.

.......It is -3 here tonight.
Today we have lost power 4 or 5 times. Good news is the longest it has stayed off was about 1 minute. And that only happened once. Other times, it went off & came right back on. I guess I cannot complain...
I will say goodnight now...I am thinking I will read until I feel tired enough to go to sleep.

I had not.thought...not that I have any fish in the house. Or perhaps I do..I will go check soon.
Last night no more fat than usual....oh well.
Our weather person forecast weather in the 60's for the last weekend of the month..but he said not to get real hopeful that that forecast would be correct. BUT Sunday into next week is supposed to be in the 40's.....I hope some of that is true...

Mac and cheese tonight. But not because I adhere to a religion based diet. Just because we like it.
The weather I was reading wasn't weather as normally watched on television. It was an article on the current polar vortex. Some of it goes over my head. But it was talking about how the weather was good for us because it released a lot of heat from the arctic and began refreezing ice that has been melting It wasn't all bad.
As a side he reminded me about when cold air meets warm air it can be catastrophic. It is not tornado season and some weather pattern may change a bit before next week but I hear him and listen. Just a heads up.

I do read a lot of science articles. But I don't want to take tests on the subjects. I just want to know what's going on in general. so I can plan around it as much as possible. And somethings are jist interesting. Like they've extracted DNA from the teeth of a mastodon that was frozen in the arctic Siberia before any humans were around.

Stay in from the cold Junie. Tina, I love weather science facts....it is amazing to see how one thing can affect all the way across the world. We have 'weather fact' sessions on our weather channel quite often. GG enjoys it also. I went to do my banking and get a few weeks groceries with the same trip. I was shocked to see two younger children maskless and running wild in the grocery store playing hide and seek......I have no clue where the mother was.

Today I worked on the game my DD gave to me for Christmas. Tomorrow there will be clothes to wash, and more work on my game. Supper will be put in my slow cooker.

Yes, I know the feeling of nothing going on and the same old, same old. That is what sends me to new things to read about. That usually sends me running to the internet for inspiration. So I can think things over while scrubbing the bathtub. Or washing dishes.

Good morning. We can actually see the ground here in places. Having said that, our truck is stuck on the apron of the garage....in the snow. DH can't shovel it much anymore.

Yes, at least that is what Rod tells me. I wish he had of gone out and shoveled a bit every day, so that this sun could have dried off the apron. But oh well, that will not happen, so I hope it melts soon.

It is beautiful outside..around 58"F. But I wondering how long this will last.
Our garage apron is completely dry. A Man D the vehicles have been pressure washed to remove all the salt. I am hoping that we is the last day we will see

It is bright with sun today. And around 70* right this minute. We've had less than 4" this year. Our "year" goes from July 1- June 30. I hope March is lion-like.

Yes, I agree. I do not know where we are here on rainfall, but well over 4 inches, I am sure.

Nope. Early on he asked me to trim it up. But I know him. If it had not of been perfect, he would have made me suffer. So I did nothing to help him. He is home now...he has a very short haircut..like most guys are wearing now..I hate it..BUT the good thing about hair...it always grows back.
Oh..brownies...I bet Carey will be very happy.

Oh my, Tina, I am so sorry to hear that. I fell asleep just after supper, and of course I am wide awake now. I thought of my uncle a few days ago. He said one time that he did not need much sleep. We are having heavy winds here as well....it is not a nice day to be outdoors. I have a pot of spaghetti sauce simmering, may as well just spend the day cooking and baking.

well that too, Tina... I stay up late ..it seems I "wake up" (I am no longer sleepy) around 7 to 8 pm..and then I cannot go to sleep until well after midnight. crazy I know.

Sheri: No, I did not take it. But I too had my hostess button disappear one time. James to!d me to check my profile, and there was the problem.. It had become unchecked. And no one did that..it just happened.
So, my advice is to go to your profile...then down to "forum profile" check it all there...you may need to fix something. Let me know.
