You and sunny bake more than anyone I've ever known. What did you bake Junie?

It rained again today. Tina, I hope you got some too.

Sheri:

I made a loaf of bread for special to go with left over stir fry for supper, and individual peach pies for dessert. Rod likes dessert and I prefer pie.

with me the thing is Rod loves his sweets. When we lived out on the farm, there was a dessert of some form in the kitchen 7 days a week. But now days it is less frequent.

Only a little today, Sheri. Tomorrow we're to get dumped on. Tomorrow morning it's supposed to be clear so Tangela is bringing up groceries.

We are getting milder temps again, it is a strange Winter....but one I could get used to.

Sheri, Junie and I both have husbands with a 'sweet tooth'. I made 24 chocolate muffins 24 hrs ago, there are 4 left. touched

I have not lived here long enough to know if this weather is normal.for here or not. I am just not a fan of any winter of any type. I prefer fall.

My coffee needs warmed up.

Good morning. I'm a snooze alarm again. My groceries are supposed to get here before the rain starts in a few hours. I don't know when it will clear up enough to go again.

Tina, is it still raining? Supposed to start here again sometime tonight and rain all day tomorrow and Monday. The temps are cold but not windy so I can take that.

I didn't do any baking but I did cook some vegetable beef soup. Good for a cold, dreary day and now I'm full as a tick.

Glad you got some cooking done for the freezer, Tina. To have food ready in the freezer is always good.

Sunny, I hope you got all of your laundry done.

I love vegetable beef soup, Sheri. Today I found a tomato based ham and beans recipe. As soon as I get some dried beans, I plan on making myself some. It is a slow cooker recipe so It should go well. All except for the herb de provenance.if I spelled that right.
I may not add that. I have no idea of the flavor. Does anyone else have any idea what flavors it imparts ?

Going to read a bit, then I am off to bed...... sweet dreams

Herbs de Province tastes of flowers, Carol. Not my thing. A good substitute without the flowers would be a basic Italian seasoning. I have found few edible flowers that I like. Too bitter for me.

"Herbes de Provence comes from Provence, a region in France, while Italian seasoning, despite the name, is an American creation. Also, while herbes de Provence do use most of the ingredients found in Italian spice mixes (with the exception of basil), it also includes lavender flowers and has a strong floral taste"

Sweet dreams all.

Well zI tell you, there is a recipe to make up herbs de provenance (or however you spell it), I do not want my bean soup to taste like flowers or Italian seasoning.. Thanks for the information. I "may" add a bay leaf or 2 but that is about it.

Again thanks so much. And goodnight again. Sleep well.

Afternoon all,

We just got off a family phone call, found out hubby's older brother had covid, and his daughter... hubby's cousins (4) of them all had it...
they all live in Yuma and none of them isolated... Yuma is worst in state for it... no mask laws... no nothing to keep people home... and I guess the snow birds that want to just are showing up too.. including the Canadians that aren't supposed too.. per their guidelines... so won't be going there anytime soon... still can't get vaccine here yet... so home I stay.. good thing I like to read...

Just finished my next month budget and set up bills... good to have that done... I am working on a guide for hubby in case I get sick so he can do it... he never has so sure hope I don't get sick.. this is the man who brought me the bills when I was in the hospital for surgery...

Well off to see what I can find for lunch... have a good rest of day all and stay well..

Nana

That is nice of you, Nana..I paid.and took care of the bills all of our married life until my DH retired. He told me and I quote "I have to pay the bills now". Well he never has before his retirement and it scares me. To give you an example..he had me write out a check to pay a medical bill for him when the EOB came, BEFORE we got the bill..and again WHEN we got the bill..nothing I could say would change his mind. So luckily we got the extra money back.

Luckily I told him now that he is retired we are each going to take care of our own medical papers..so at least he cannot mess mine up.

Tina..we got our breakfasts a bit before 10 am so that worked out well.

Nana, the 'snow birds' need to stay home....they were warned already by our Prime Minister. They are now peeved because the new law states that they must quarantine for two weeks in a preapproved hotel when they come back...minimum amount is over $2000 a person.

We have a Nor'Easter heading for us tomorrow. GG had a dentist appt Tuesday after school for a check up and cleaning, I will have to cancel it as soon as they open....I have no desire to drive in a storm for no good reason, or pay for a missed appointment if we don't cancel 24 hrs in advance. nono

Sunny,

Well I hope it costs them as much as they "saved" to come down... can't understand putting your life in danger... southern AZ is bad for covid right now.... we won't go there and we have a lot of relatives there.... at least bil is better now... he is almost 75 and still working... never saved , spoiled his kids and multiple wives but never thought he might live a long time...

My oldest just sent pics of her snowfall so far... about a foot on long island... she is freezing too she says... don't envy that at all...

Well gotta go start another load of laundry and see what else I can get done .. using a cane today so won't be to much.. isn't even the foot I broke it's the other leg... hate getting old....!!!!!

Stay well all and take care
Nana

I'm glad you have a cane to ease your way, Sherri. I am sorry you need it.
I agree, some parts of getting old are a drag. But it beats the alternative.
