Good morning. Today ends election season. It'll be nice not to have peoples hands held out from my email page. Of course they will be replaced by charities because it's that season now.

We do not get calls, emails or such here for elections...we do get the odd pamphlet in the mail, but that is it.

I wil be glad for the election to be over as well. I even get texts on my phone..from both parties....SO very done with it all.

We voted in person today. It was hard as the polling place had NO booths just tables. Said tables had patterned surfaces which made it hard to fill in the squares correctly.
But we are done at least.

It was lovely outside here today. Cool, crisp, but not windy. A perfect fall day. We get lots of election papers and calls around here. So aggravating makes me not want to vote to any of them. It's really an invasion of my phone privacy.

I had heard we were supposed to get a frost so I brought into the screened porch a few potted plants. It didn't frost but now I'm wondering what I think I'm going to do with these gigantic plants all winter long. I have a beautiful coleus that I'm wondering if I can put some cuttings in water and redo next year. It's been beautiful all summer.

I bought some butter croissants at the grocery store today and I've eaten 4 of them. I knew better than to buy them. They have 179 calories EACH!!!!!

Colt is in serious trouble. He told his PE teacher she needed to "just shut your mouth." The teacher didn't send him to the office, she sent him back to his classroom. Just so happened the head master walked down the hall and saw Colt sitting in the classroom alone, stuck his head in the door, and asked the teacher where the rest of the class was. Unfortunately for Colt, the head master is his dad.

I love voting while sitting at my own desk in my desk chair. And knowing there is no one waiting behind me. California is going to almost all absentee. Voting is downright pleasant.

Yes, Sheri: poor Co!t and poor " headmaster"...but mainly poor Colt !!!

My SIL thought I should just bring in my tomato plants....that will not happen...BUT I will bring in a volunteer petunia plant and my Valarie's lilac bush. The petunia will go somewhere in the house....the bush will go into the garage so it gets some sun from the windows.

Going to sleep now..sweet dreams

I guess that is why lilacs flourish here Tina lol

Has Colt acted out like that before Bestofour?

It is another cold, crisp day here....the air smells so fresh. It's a good day to get caught up on some mending of clothes and such.

Good morning...

My daughter's lilac bush is in a pot. A BIG pot. I am afraid that it will freeze and kill it.
Back when it was smaller I would put it between the house and the AC unit..outside. It did not freeze there. And it still dud not bloom. I am thinking it will not bloom until it gets planted into the ground. THAT will not happen until I am sure that my SIL will not decide to build a house....Val does not want to move again...but in Brian's family...everyone has built a house but him...

Another warmer day here.

Junie, are they debating building a house someday? I thought they already lived on Brian's family property.

Hoping your dreams are better tonight Tina kissie

I got all the mending done and planted a slip from my ivy and pothos plant. They were growing out of control....it's nice to have extra plants around in Winter. I am so glad that I bought a few nice ceramic planters this spring from the dollar store.

The books I ordered for the kids for Christmas have arrived...another parcel arrives tomorrow(clothes from Old Navy). They have some amazing sales on right now.

Books and clothes are some good things, Sunny. Some of my favorite things anyway. I use to love used book stores. Tons of fun for pennies on the dollar for kids any time of year.

Books..yes, last year I got several grand gifts in the sale area of the book store here. Not gonna happen this year. I am still a few books short of being " fair" between the kids.

I have PJ's for the kids this year. Last year when I was able to get out, I bought clothes.

Sunny, as far as I know, they are not going to build..BUT If I know my SIL..he could decide on a dime to go build one..esp as the kids get bigger. 3 high school girls are not going to share the room they have now, and esp are not going to be able to share their current closet. That is why I think they will build. But time will tell.

They could have the land the family farm is on. noone lives there now. But Val does not like the location of the farm, and the house is in such a run down state that a new house would have to be built before they could consider moving there.

Still I wonder.

Junie, I order books from the Indigo/Chapters book store online.

Last week my niece's cat took sick and passed, then a few days later her other cat passed....well, this morning DH found GG's cat Ginger in the same state. I have no clue what is going on. I am going to have to pretend that 'Ginger' ran away with his friends. Is there some kind of thing that can pass from cat to cat....we live on the same family farm property???

Good morning. I'm thinking something like cat parvo. Feline panleukopenia | American Veterinary Medical .
Feline panleukopenia (FP) is a highly contagious viral disease of cats caused by the feline parvovirus. Kittens are most severely affected by the virus.

All I could remember was cat parvo so I googled it. It is like disemper in dogs. There are vaccines for both. But once they have the disease it's too late to vaccinate.

Gosh sorry about the cats. Any chance someone would have poisoned them?

I regret bringing the plants onto the porch because it's been so warm. spring stuff is blooming again.

As far as Colt, he's not the only one to have issues in the class. Ginger's been telling me about this for about 2 weeks. For some reason the teacher likes to whip the kids up into a frenzy in an effort to make them competitive. Ginger has watched the class a time or two because she's heard the commotion in the gym from her office and has talked to Colt more than once about him already being competitive and not needing to work himself up so. It's been a difficult conversation because she hasn't wanted to make the teacher seem wrong but she knew what was going to happen with Colt and she's concerned someone is going to get hurt. They've been playing dodge ball and the teacher wants them "out for blood." It's been found out that more students have been sent from her class but not reported to the office. I think she has some culpability in Colt's situation even though he can never talk to an adult that way.

Thanks everyone, Tina I researched what you posted and I think it is Feline panleukopenia. Poor kitties, I have a few barn cats left...we will keep an eye on them.

I hate competitiveness that is forced upon kids Bestofour. It makes for unnecessary stress and bulliness.

Another parcel arrived(clothing), the kids Christmas shopping is going pretty smoothly. lol

I should have explained better Tina, we found GG's cat deceased yesterday morning. He had just taken sick the night before...of course when our one little clinic was already closed. Our niece's cats were sick for days before they passed. I told DH no more cats at the house, we had just spent a lot of money on this cat the month before for his clinic visit, deworming, entropian surgery and spading. GG was still looking for him this morning, I do not have the heart to tell her that he is 'gone'.

They lifted some restrictions for us this morning Covid wise...we are allowed with family bubbles again. GB is waiting for his visit this weekend lol

So sorry about the cats. We've had the same 2 for years, both rescues, and too old to do much mousing these days but I'd miss them if they were gone.

It's so warm and sunny here these stupid Asian lady bugs are here. They haven't shown up for the last 2 years. There's no way to control them and they don't do anything good for the environment and they bite.

Going to make a run to the library. Hope all are having a good day.

Keep safe all of you going out. Covid is tracking upwards. Yesterday we hit over 120,000 new cases in the nation. A record in daily counting.
Tangela brought groceries up for me today. She wears a mask and carries things to the door and the other two bring it in. I give her cash and bank cards to bank for me and we're good with lots of distancing. She'll bring up my cash and cards in a few days. Then I'm good for the month. She is worth very cent I pay her.

Rod & I are careful..but yes you are exactly right Tina.

My pharmacy had a drive up window..so that is easy....

I ordered vitamins.& Such from Wal-Mart and they came.yesterday. We get our big grocery orders with curb side pick up there.
Otherwise I go to the local tiny grocery at off times. But only if I just need a very few things. I like your way...but my Val will not let me pay her when she buys me things..so I do not ask her to help us often. But if I asked her to get me things she is very willing.

140,000 today. Does it feel like it's creeping up on anyone else?
Sweet dreams all.

Tina, it is scary to watch the numbers rise. We went down to no cases so they lifted a few restrictions yesterday...by the afternoon there was one new case. It will all begin again.

Bestofour, we have Asian lady beetles here....I have never given much thought to the difference. Are they helpful to the garden like normal ladybugs are?

Junie, our pharmacy has been drive up only since this started. The sad part is that it had the nicest gift shop for gifting....I wish they'd post items so we could see what they have.

Going for GB today and getting a curbside pick up at the hardware store at the same time.
