They just made it against the law to trick or treat or give out candy for Halloween here. We were already told not to do it but I guess some people will refuse and do it anyway.

Good morning. It is sad that they had to make a law for that, Sunny. It just makes sense to stop the spread.

Yes it does just make sense..but it seems some do not have sense.

I have no idea what the rules are around me..BUT I have not put out my electric pumpkin and I will not have my light on. I do have candy bags made up for my local grands and their cousins..but I will give the cousins candy to Valarie.

I mailed my Grands in Virginia theirs several days ago. It was surprisingly cheap to mail. I hope it was weighed correctly.

I hope it reaches them in time and un good shape, Carol. The mail has slowed down so much these days. They set the overflow aside and it can get beat up waiting delivery. This turn of events is not the mail handlers fault.

As crazy as this sounds, our mail has sped up. Everything is automatically put by air travel if possible.

The police have started making rounds this week and checking cars. If you are in a vehicle with others and your address doesn't match on your iid's then you are fined. At this rate...they should have things back in control very soon thumbup

A good idea. I have read stories about mail carrier collecting mail after working hours and delivering it on their own time. The state of the postal service is driving them nuts. Someone needs to be prosecuted for messing with the mail.

Good morning.

Our postal carriers have to work on Sunday also. They are trying to keep up with Amazon's Sunday delivery option.

Finally not raining.

Good morning. Our mail people have always worked on Sundays. Mail is constantly on the move from state to state and throughout the world. Our current situation is a political story and not allowed here.

Our mail was Monday to Friday, then a few years ago they added a half day on Saturday then this Summer they added Sundays for delivery only.

I got my pork, my freezer is so full that I have no room for the beef we were gong to process next month. I wish we could 'rent a freezer' for a few months.

They used to have freezer lockers here. When you had an animal butchered you rented a locker for the end results. You visited every couple of weeks or so to reclaim what you wanted from it. That was before a lot of people had deep freezes and many tiny freezers.

Actually we had.a.freezer and rented.spaxe in the local.grocery locker.for.our deer. You might as the grocery store, Sunny. And if you have a rent to own store they just might rent you a freezer. But have you considered buying a small freezer to add to what you have ? When not in use you could unplug it...and look in the sale.adds..perhaps someone has one to sell cheap.

There are no places here to rent freezer space. My aunt has been trying to buy a second hand freezer since the Summer, she gave up last week and bought a new one. It is moose and deer season so freezers are in high demand. I might have to make a deal with a family member (that I can trust) to share their freezer in trade for some meat. DD's and my moms are full(they only have the smallest ones that you can buy).

I just got in, we had the septic man in to clean our tank. We get it done every two years as maintenance...I've seen what failed tanks can do and it seems it always happens in Winter.

I might get my groceries this afternoon if my pick ups are ready...it is hard getting three pick ups in line within the same time frame.

I hope you can get everything you need in one trip. Sunny.
You've made me think of food preservation again. What we did before electricity.
Good morning. I am a little saddened this morning. We topped 100,000 a day in new corona cases yesterday in the US. And that is only Covid 19. The new strain known as 20A.EU1. that's ripping through Europe hasn't even reached us yet.(I think). It looks like it's more easily caught than the old one. Lord help us all.

Thanks Tina, I heard about that corona mutation yesterday, they say that it was found from a particular farm that was located somewhere in the north of Spain. I fear it will be never ending for us. I am often reminded of my grandmother's bible teachings and stories of past pandemics.

We did get our call for our regular flu shot for Monday afternoon.

Good gracious..the new strain of Covid ??? Just Great ! NOT what I want to hear.
And I sure DO NOT look towards a virus more easily caught. I guess all us old people just as well die now, huh ???

People in the neighborhood are getting ready for trick or treaters. Since we do not get a paper unless we hear it on the news, we have no idea about it. I would have liked to think the town would have cancelled it for this year

Christmas...I just made out 2 orders with a mail order catelog...one will be sent to my DD in Virginia...the other will come to me. If I am to be charged for shipping, I do not want to pay it twice. .........

on other news and notes, I hate this virus....

Hi all
For the record I hate this virus and all it's mutations too....we tried to get our flu shots 2 weeks ago.. took our temps and we both had a fever... so we came home... took our temps for a week and a half - hubby cleared in a few days , took me almost 10... so went back and finally got our shots... so at least we are good with that now... weird thing is we never felt ill at all.... so who knows maybe we had it? won't go out and test - don't quite see the point.. still going to isolate either way.... at the rate we are going it will be another yr or so..... sure glad I like to read...

Well off to get dinner started and see what else I can do..

Nana

The kids came by..Mom & Dad had planned in staying a bit..but the kids thought they were getting to go trick or treating...but they were just going to a small family party...but that worked for them so noone stayed much...I watched Alton Brown's Halloween show. The ending was surprising I must say.

How was yours, Sunny ??

Our Halloween was just laid back. Jonni had control of the tv so she had on Goosebumps movies and I relaxed with my computer. Reading news bits can be a horror show of it's own (but it's real so not a show).

It was strange not having kids at the door....close family dropped off treats for the kids on Friday. I made myself nauseated by eating too much fudge, lesson learned on me....usually I give most of it away to the treaters. lol

Catching up on laundry today while DH finishes up some tractor work.

When Brian' s sister brought by her kids ( I had bought them treats but thought Val would give it to them) about 20 kids, ran up to them..thinking this was their house and they were finally home...but they told the kids I was not open tonight..so they left.

Aubry was our only trick or treater. Where we live isn't conducive to trick or treaters in a good year. Aubry's 12 so this will probably be the last for us. Colt went out in their little town and people slide candy through pipes and down slides. It was different and exciting.

Johnny's sister has been in the hospital for over a week now. I think tumors are growing instead of shrinking and now she can't eat or breath. It's sad.

We both got our flu shots.....thankfully....at least that is one less thing to worry about.

We had a freeze last night. I tried to save one of my tomato plants by putting it up against the house and covering it with 2 blankets. This week is supposed to be our Indian Summer so perhaps I can get 1 or 2 more tomatoes. I am asuming the rest are done for.

Sorry for your SiL, Sheri.
