Thanks Tina.

I cut back the rest of the perennials and shrubs yesterday, just a few left to tie up in burlap.

My mitre saw gave out on me yesterday(the bearings are shot), we bought it second hand over 25 years ago but it sure is a pain cutting all those little trims by hand. As of today my flooring renovation is completed.

I did not do a whole lot. And I like it that way..a day (or so) of rest sounds divine.

I can take some pics later today Tina, I have to put my woodstove back in place and set up the pipes....the cold weather is hitting fast.

More rain for today, it will be a good day to get my baking done.

Yay for photos..I cannot wait.

Raining like cats & dogs here...it does make for good sleeping though.

Baking..perhaps I should start my baking soon. But first I need to get my Christmas gifts under control.

I think I will write my Christmas cards early as well.

Good morning !

Do not be too impressed. I start so early to spread out the cost...That and I love Christmas..the longer it lasts, the happier I am.

See, Sheri ...if you have gifts bought, and you do, then that counts.

Does your butcher process meat too, Sunny? Do you get bacon and ham also? There are all kinds of other things that most modern households don't use.

Too warm here too, Sheri. It will be cooler the rest of the week, though. Only high 70s to low 80s. Perfect weather.

Mid to high 80's tomorrow..then the next day possible thunderstorms.... Ok Saturday..possible storms Sunday..cooler next week...crazy weather for sure.

I dont know about fresh bacon but this great value hickory smoked bacon that I was given when I ordered from Wal-Mart was awful. I LOVE good bacon......but this stuff tastes like fake bacon...and they sent me 2..(great...not)

Better say goodnight now..I have 3% power left.

No, he cuts not processes. The bacon he cuts in back bacon, thick cut with rind on....it's like a crispy fresh pork chop when cooked. We get sliced hocks, roasts, back ribs racks, pork chops, stew meat and roasts. I'll be curious to know the weight so I can figure out the cost to us....pig feed went higher in price.

I buy my processed bacon from our local store, it is a store brand and tastes mildly smoked. It as well has sure jumped in price.

Everything is more costly. I don't look at grocery prices. I don't go to the store. I do get my receipts but they are hard for me to see without a magnifying glass, the print is too light.

Morning,

I agree grocery prices are getting higher, and they say they are going to run out again soon... so glad we hoarded... we are good for at least 4 months or so if we have too.... good cause hubby and I both have to go get glasses soon and eye exams... that will be at least a months grocery money...

I haven't been to a store either... hubby does shopping for us.. we went a couple weeks ago to get flu shots, they said we both had temps.. so no shots, didn't feel sick (either one of us) so we spent the last couple weeks taking our temps.. finally today I was normal.. he was within a couple days... so either I had the virus or something else but never felt sick... weird... haven't been anywhere for months.. and never without a mask...

Well off to figure out my checkbook.. they say I have more money than I think I do so hope that is so.... !

Nana

Yes about needing groceries & such again. I heard it is going to get bad again. I have not ever gotten into some if my " stash" especially the TP, still have some hand sanitizer and cleaners also.. I have been buying new when what I am using runs out. I will see about stocking some more I guess.

It would be nice if you could get an antibody test to see if you had it, Sherri. It would be nice to know that.
I am glad that you are all on top of the need to stock up in case things go south in the supply chains again. I am very glad most are staying safe. It has been a long few months and it looks like another few months but we can do it together.
My county did really well at first. .Although LA, the county next to us, had rising numbers we were staying steady and going downward at just over 2,000 cases and 98 deaths. So on May 8th my county decided to drop the mask mandate and a week later the cases rose. And rose. Our governor took it into his own hands and slapped a statewide mandate back in place about a month later. But he was too late, We went up to 61,550 cases and 1,070 deaths. Our rates are nearly back to where they were before but it didn't have to ever get so bad.

We lose our 'bubble family' tonight.....we are going back a phase due to four groups of community spread cases in our zone. In a few days we might be back to 'no school/medical appt's' again.

GB will be quite upset that he can't come this weekend...and I have no clue what DD is going to do for her job. I was her weekend babysitter.

Oh my ! What will Julie do ? I agree. And of you take him you could well end up keeping him until spring ! rolz shock

Tina..I thought we had options...we can get TV with several services but we can only get internet from the company we are with. AND if we drop TV with our current provider they will raise our charges to meet what we are paying now. We are trapped where we are.

So we will have to cut back somewhere else I guess.

Junie, I love GB but I am already raising one grandchild so I have to stand my ground. She will have to work school hours and if they cancel school then they have to give her a 'lay off' until it starts up again. She would qualify for Employment Insurance then.

Tina, It is going to break my heart to tell him no visiting and no Halloween. He is obsessed with that holiday....they have already cancelled the door to door treating. I will still do my drive by visiting if able...I used to go visit him at the front window and leave treats on the step when we were shut down this spring.

I understand, Sunny... You could drive by his Halloween 🎃 candy..he could dress up to get it then... And you could stand way back and you could both see each other then.
