As for gelatin salads try this using lime jello....then.....

Take an amount of cottage cheese, rinse it of any milky coverings. Take the cottage cheese "pellets" add them to the jello as you would fruit. Iove it. I have not had any since I worked in a nursing home. They had it there often.

Teddy doesn't do lumps of any kind in food. It's a trial to feed him. I can put well cooked peas and carrots in his mac n cheese but the key is well cooked everything. It's got to be mushy stuff. A lot of mashed potatoes and carrots, sweet potatoes, squash, etc, around here. He does like spicy stuff though so that is cool. As long as it's not lumpy.

Yes. But not as often as I would like to because he objects to the noise. He is a pleasant paradox.

Tina, my Uncle had a stomach surgery and needed to have his food processed for a few months so they bought a 'Baby Bullet'. My Aunt said that if that was available 40 years ago....she never would have bought a jar of baby food. She said it worked amazingly.

Junie, I was busy helping DH for the day...we are getting our farm equipment ready for haying soon.

Hi all...I just finished making donut muffins. DH & I are going over to Val & Brian's so I thought to take some "sorta" breakfast treats.

Now I think I will wind down and then head to bed.

Speaking of rain, some areas not far from me are almost in drought conditions. So far this summer we've had a little rain every week. Some days more than a little but it's been a good thing with the temperatures so high.

I am really hating for school to start back in any form. It's been nice getting to talk to the grans whenever I want even with social distancing. Shelley's crew is ready to go back but Colt not so much. It just makes me laugh because his dad is the head master and his mom is a teacher at his school and he hates to go more than anything. Colby has taken all his high school courses and even though he'll be taking freshman courses at a local college (some online some in person), he'll still be considered a high school student and will be able to play baseball if they're allowed. I've seen where some schools have started football practice but Colby's school hasn't. Not sure they'll have fall and winter sports. Aubry misses her friends but Shelley is leaning toward online school for at least the first semester. I think Darbi's university is starting on time with sports as usual. I'm hating that Colby is so far ahead. The school has always wanted him to skip grades but Shelley never went for it. Now he's a senior but done with high school courses. He thinks it will be ok but I don't know how he'll stay involved in his high school when he's never there. Sad to me.

My daughter, a teacher, says she thinks that school will begin..then school will be out from say thanksgiving break until the end of the school year..npw this is nothing official. This may be her idea, it may be her hope. But whatever her driving force, this is what she said to me in the last few weeks.

Well I for one am very glad my dd's youngest two are homeschooled... especially the youngest.. with his lack of a good immune system it would be very bad for him.... we are still home too... powers that be here are opening things up even with so many sick here... think they are nuts... we are in till there is a vaccine that is proven... people here wanted to open up schools and the parents said no way... so hopefully it will work that way ....

We are back to over 100's again , had a few cool days and that was nice... no ac bills...but it's back on today for the time being... hubby did mow today even though it was hot. had to do it twice it was so long... but now the dog is happy he can see over the grass again.... LOL! short stubby legs...

Well off to finish the laundry- sheets and towels day... then throw the comforter in with a damp towel to get the dog hair off... white hair shows up really well on a dark blue comforter... may replace it with a white on eventually...LOL!

Take care all and stay well....

Yes, we agree with you on the staying home thing...I have been to a grocery store 2 times since summer began..and to a few Drs. Visits. We watch or listen to church in our livingroom. Carol also cooks on Sunday..( I did not cook on Sunday's pre covid 19)

Summer is.2/3 over and I am still waiting for it to start

Oh my gosh this heat is killer and the humidity is unbelievable. I think I say this every year🌞 I’ve never liked the heat and still don’t. I thought old people preferred the summer. Maybe I’m not so old after all. smile

first off we are only as old as we feel..and me I'm about 25.....I have no idea how my daughter is 40, but oh well....

secondly, I hate the heat, and the humidity..but esp. the humidity...I think we could take more heat if the humidity was not so bad...and as I am used to mid-Illinois humidity, this Southern Missouri heat/humidity is esp. hard....I say we just complain and then forget about it..

going to say goodnight now---the kids are coming over for a bit tomorrow. So I should get some sleep.

Tina, I am with you....I venture out for banking once a month. There is two tellers and two people allowed in at a time. You have to wait on 6 ft apart circles in the line up in the hall and outside.

I have been out to the local grocer twice though(to prove my point that we are getting charged for name brand when they have store brand in stock)....and I travel for curbside pick up. A lot of our local stores are not open to the public anyway...they are family run so they have to be extra careful.

I think we are having the hottest, humid laden Summer on record as well. It makes a person feel exhausted trying to get things done, although I shouldn't complain too much since I am less than three months away from seeing snow.

Yes I agree about our children.

My Valarie and her DH have done and still do a lot of our shopping. I was doing my grocery shopping online with Wal-Mart. They were very efficient with their curb side pick up...but the last time I shopped like that..I found that Wal-Mart changed their shopping format, and after 2 hours, I had only found half if the items on my grocery list. They woukd give you sets of food you could pick from.... And if what you wanted was not there, too bad for you.
So now I have been going shopping myself...but I only go about 1 time a month, and early in the morning when moat are sleeping yet.

More rain and humidity today...we are infested with earwigs outside. rspb

Today I will take GG's barn cat to the vet....he started with weepy eyes that have turned into a full blown infection. Have you ever noticed that it is always the 'favorite' that gets sick???? We already went through a paw infection and a side injury(abscess) with it. It seems that making him friendly has turned into a financial disaster.

No I do not have the kids today. Val had a check up yesterday so she went in to begin to prepare for school opening for a bit after it as well. I am going to miss the girls being in school this year...Even if they only end up going for a short time, I still will not be getting them. Momma will have them at home.

It seems to be overcast today. Better than the horrid heat we have been getting.

Sunny we have truly been fortunate with our animals. Andy is 9 and I don't think he's ever been sick and he's never had an injury. And our cats have been sick once or twice and the only injury one of them had was when she was attacked by another cat who was in our yard. Both cats are females that we had spayed as soon as we could so they don't stray away.

Aubry's school opened yesterday. She's got her home area neat and organized so unlike her bedroom that it's funny. Ginger and their entire school staff were tested and she and Chris and everyone they've gotten a report for is negative. I don't know how many reports are left but I'll be amazed if they all come back negative. I'm also amazed that the medical facility is sending the reports to the school. I think this virus has thrown HIPPA out the window. I know previously at my allergy doc everything was quiet, hidden, and hush hush, and now I stand 6 feet back from the desk and shout out my name and birth date smile
