Good morning !
Sunnh, can you buy prefab concrete steps ? They are hollow underneath, so are ready/easy to haul and set into place. We had them at our new house in Illinois. If you did I would think they would last better for you.

No, no such steps here...we poured a concrete step 20 years ago but it fell apart so we built the wooden one over it. I'll have a mess to deal with when it is time to take them both apart. egad

I mowed and weed wacked the lawn...somehow I cut my foot as well. Lesson learned on me wearing those foam dollar store shoes.

That is a hard lesson to learn. Rod wears his high top work boots when cutting grass...working outside really. When the girls lived at home and cut grass they both had work boots that they worn when cutting grass as well. One pair would last you a long -long time if you only wore them outside for risky work.

I have work boots but they are so heavy that most times I forgo them for sneakers but the foam shoes were a real stupid idea. DH said that we have to get a new weed wacker soon, the old one is a hit or miss for starting and is falling apart. He said the new one comes with a blade so work boots is a must. He also told me not to worry since it is a longer shaft so I won't cut my leg off, uhmm thanks lol

Heavy rain for today...guess it is a good day to get some baking done.

Try # 2

No, Tina, That was my MIL. She passed away in early June of 2017.

Mom is holding hard to living in her house. My cousin comes into her house 3 days a week and cooks and cares for her.
A lady comes in 2 different days a week and cleans and does laundry for her.
Then there is a lady who is there on the weekends to make her meals.
My sister and brother take care of the rest. I am glad my cousin cares for her -she kinda takes my place and they are good for each other. Especially since my cousin's mom passed away years ago.

Mom will be 88 in December.

My mother turned 89 the 26th of June. She has what is called "mild" dementia but it's more than mild.

Speaking of boots outside, I have been wearing a pair Johnny bought for himself for maybe 10 years and they're still in good shape. They're way too big for me but I love them and wear them every time I go outside. The other day I told Ginger she needs to get a pair of boots for working outside since they have snakes from the lake in the back yard.

Mom "slips" occasionally but for the most part she is doing well for her age.

Yay for having your own boots.

Perhaps you should consider buying Ginger a pair of boots for Christmas this year.

Sweet Dreams everyone. Sleep well.

Good morning. I didn't come in to say good night last night. I don't no why. Maybe I was too tired.
But I am here to greet the morning. It's going to be a hot day. Over 100.

I guess it is hot everywhere....the humidity is awful as well. The gardens are loving it though.

GB had a 'party' here yesterday and then stayed the night. He doesn't like a lot of people so he is enjoying this Covid thing....he was glad that we weren't allowed to invite anyone. He then had a melt down when we sang Happy birthday because we were told that he didn't want a 'party'...just a cake with garlic fingers haha

No, that was my MIL who lived in an assisted living facility then after a stroke she had to go into a nursing home. She passed away on June of 2017.

My mom is hanging fast and hard to living in her own home. a lady comes in and cleans and does laundry on Monday and Friday. My cousin comes in on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. She does her hygiene and cooks for her. And she takes my place in the family there. A 3 rd lady comes on Saturday and Sunday to cook for her.
My sister does a lot of her errands, and shopping. My brother does the same and also does her financial and medical things. They want her to go to an assisted living but she will probably stay in her home until she is forced to go into a nursing home.

The humidity is killer. We've had plenty of rain so far so that's unusual for us.

Johnny had a an appointment for a scan this morning so we got up early too Junie. Now it's only noon and I need a nap.

Nap..now that sounds good, Sheri. Thanks for the idea.

Sunny..kids and their meltdowns..LOL..He will grow up..Heidi does that as well.

Just a comment: I know I have been complaining about my washer not getting things clean..well today, I washed bed clothes..since they are Navy in color, the DRY areas readily showed up when I was supposed to be putting them into the dryer..... I even put an extra rinse on the cycle!
So frustrating to be sure

I would be better off washing clothes on a washboard.

Ok rant over.

Sorry about the washer Junie, my SIL's is the same....it won't fill to the top. I am so glad that mine does, although I am not happy with the hour long wait for one load.

I have two wash boards hanging in my bathroom....send me your laundry grin

I wish I could send you my laundry maybe then it would get cleaned....I have been wishing all day that I could go back to my house in Illinois and wash my clothes. I would even wash the current owners clothes if I could just wash mine as well.
I get to wait an hour for a load to finish AND they are still are not clean.

Also when I chose high fill ( there is supposed to be 14 inches of water then) the clothes stay in the bottom and the wringer just moves the water around.

I have a washboard as well. It used to hang it in my laundry room when we lived in illinois. Now it is on the wall at the end of the kitchen next to the louver doors that hide my washer & Dryer. But it is very useable. I may yet.

Afternoon all,

I have been awol... hands decided to hurt the last few days, probably should see doc but not going till I have too... the covid is bad here in Az and not going anywhere unless I really have to... am getting a little stir crazy though... even tired of reading and that is really not like me...

I have a new washer too and have to reset it to fill again after it finishes filling the first time for large loads... at least it will fill all the way doing that ... hubby saw it one day on extra large load when it's just us so had to show him how it filled on small and med... 4 inches of water just doesn't work... sometimes new and improved is just dumb and dumber... not saving water if you have to run it twice to get clothes clean or even all wet.... wish I had kept my old ones but wasn't room in truck....so they stayed at the house..

Well going to go find some lunch... after I pay a bill or two... take care all stay safe...
Nana

The arborist came today and we're going to have to cut down a tree. It's not diseased at all but it's around 120 years old and the root system has given up the ghost. I am so sad to have to cut it down. It's going to take away a lot of shade.
