We had a nice Sunday..we went to my oldest daughter's house for Brunch, and then when we came home, our youngest called Rod and then she sent us supper from Applebees, (Rod picked the restaurant). So nice I benefited by association, huh???

it was hot and humid here as well.

Good night everyone..sweet, dreams

Not raining now..But it is supposed to later. Rod said around 1 or so. I am guessing I may only have to drive home in the rain... Mother nature knows that I hate to drive in the rain.

Got all my cards ordered last night......all up until April. .well except for Christmas.

Kids may not get Halloween cards this year, though.

Morning all,

Well got bills paid and checkbook balanced finally.. don't know why I write in a payment I didn't make and didn't have to make... at least it was in my own favor... better than spending money I don't have I guess... it's hot here already... 87* and supposed to hit 97*, at least with the patio ceiling fans it is comfortable out there in the late afternoon..

I need to dust and vacuum today... at least it's on my list … and mop my tile floors... hopefully my hands will hold up for that after the Tylenol takes effect.. it's no fun having aching fingers all the time.. but it takes my mind off my ankle... getting old isn't for sissies! LOL!

Well off to accomplish something .. have a good day all , stay well and healthy.

Nana

Sherri I gave up dusting years ago. I've always hated it so I decided to not to do. I might run over stuff with a damp cloth once in a while but I don't move everything like I used too. It just comes back anyway.

We were supposed to get rain today too but it didn't happen. It did cool form 90 to 73° in a short amount of time though so that was very nice.

I pretty much have up dusting furniture with any regularity myself. I used to weekly. But even if so dusted for a weekend BBQ party on Thursday, by Saturday it looked like I had not touched anything...So since "the farm", I just dust when I get the time..real or perceived time. LOL

I would Love to know what to clean my wood floors with though. I have tried endyst, it makes this surface slick like p!edge woukd. Ammonia or vinegar and water, just makes the floor dull. Right now I have a cleaner called Bona. .not real happy with it either. I just want a shiny but not slick floor.

There are cleaners meant just for wood floors, Carol. I think one's called something like Mre, Meyers or something. It is even made for a swiffer wet jet. People I've known with hardwood floors swore by it.
Sweet dreams all.

I woke up today to find GG's two chicks 'gone'....and a sickly looking raccoon sitting in front of the cage. I am declaring war on every animal in my yard. I called DH and told him that I am ordering a 'live animal trap'...and then I am taking care of business. Rapid raccoons are a danger to everyone and everything.

I have never in my life seen the amount of wildlife roaming like this year. I know I live in a rural area but it is getting ridiculous....and no bear traps are being set for home owners anymore I was told. I guess once again people will do what needs to be done then.

Oh, I am so sorry, Sunny. I hope you get that racoon before any other animal or person gets hurt. Sometimes I wonder what this world is coming to. I mainly just shake my head and am glad that I am as o!d as I am. Hopefully I will not have to see what will become of it all.

DH is picking up a 'live trap' on his way home from work...he said he passes a hardware store about a two hr drive from here.

The bear tore the lid right off the neighbor's garbage can last night....and it was one of those big heavy duty ones. That was $200 down the drain for him.

Sunny, I bought a spray called Critter Control in an attempt to keep bunnies, squirrels and deer out of the garden and away from the sunflowers. So far so good. Wonder if it will work for the raccoon. Doesn't seem to bother our cats. Just occurred to me that the squirrels haven't been bothering the bird feeders either. Wonder if you spray Lysol or some type of disinfectant spray all over your trash cans if the bears won't like it. I'd be scared to death to go outside if I thought bears were in my yard.

I ordered groceries 3 times but our stores are stocked and open regular hours now.

We eat a lot of apples and bananas around here. Blueberries in season and oranges once in a while. Not much other fruit. We have 2 plum trees and one pear tree but the deer or neighbors beat me every year so I don't get much fruit from. I didn't get one plum this year but I'm not sure they even made. The pears are bitter for some reason so the deer can have them. I don't know much about apple trees but the apples have always been bitter.

I have a fig tree that produces cardboard tasting figs, even when they are ripe. The mother tree produced lovely sweet figs. It was a cutting.

My chickens are 'gone' as well this morning. I have been crying for the last half hour....I shouldn't have made pets out of them. How a raccoon can tear apart a wire cage baffles me. I know most people would think I am crazy but they were a highlight to my every morning. tears

Oh my goodness...I am so sorry! Oh! I just thought is there an agency you could call out to trap the recoon.?? You should be able to have your chickens. And yes, I too am surprised that the wire was peneratable.

Drinking coffee ☕ now.

No, there is no agency...we don't even have so much as a dog catcher anymore. I set up the new trap DH bought last night but it didn't do any good. It tore through the chicken wire......it was devastating

Neighbors or not.....I declare war on all nuisance wildlife in my yard.

I agree..it is your property, and your livestock...and on top of that, you are not in the middle of town. Good for you !.. But now you will have the expense of a new co-op and new chickens....so sorry.

Honestly, after this....I might not even get any more next year.

We are awaiting our thunderstorm at the moment. I hope it isn't as bad as they are putting the warnings up for. We got a bad one last night...it sure gave the new eavestrough's a testing.

GG is outside taking pics with my phone again...I hope she gets some good ones of the flowers so I can share a few.

I guess it would be simpler and less risky to not have chickens..But I bet you will miss the eggs...if course you could always find a farmer that sells fresh eggs.

Our rains are beginning again tomorrow. I sure wish I could get more mulch today so as to finish the job. Perhaps I am done... why

Oh Lord no ! We went thru the drive thru. The workers had masks and gloves. We brought it home and ate here. It was bad enough we had to go into Lowe's..they will not do curb side pick up for mulch.

Sorry I scared you.
