Oh right Tina. I remember that now. We've had several family birthdays during this stay at home time. I was fine staying home for mine. Colt not so much. smile

We thought our upstairs AC unit was broken because yesterday it was 80° up here. The man came out today and said it's working fine, not sure what happened yesterday, give me $51.00 please and left. Not sure what he did but it does feel cooler in here or either I'm used to the heat.

I had an ac unit in a window that would freeze inside. When it had time to defrost it worked fine, Shert. Maybe the humidity made yours freeze?

Appliances are finicky...I hope the AC was just froze up as Tina said.

I got the quotes for the eaves trough's yesterday. We can only afford to get one side of the house done this year....the front is better than none. We'll do the back side next year...hopefully. The guy was real nice about it, he said he understood that doing things the way one can afford it is better than not doing anything at all. He said he would prepare a work order for the back with the estimates and put it in his file. When we are ready next year, we can just call.

It's a raining here....a good day to catch up on baking.

I agree with the workman, Sunny. Glad he was so nice.

Sheri...at least you did not have to replace the unit. Plus if something changes you have a starting point, right ?

I am sitting on the parking lot at the eye Drs. Waiting to be allowed to go in.

Our eye docs are closed. My GB was awaiting an appt and surgery next month.....it will be put on hold for up to a year now.

One of my kitchen chairs broke today...I am soon going to give up on fixing stuff.

The sun is shining and the mosquitoes are swarming lol

Today I have to take the window out of the old door(that we just replaced) and clean up the old glue and silicone so I can put that window into the other door. The other door is still in good shape but the window has a broken seal and is starting to rust the edge. This 'trying to make do' gets old after awhile.

We have to set up an appointment to go into our bank. Then there is a man at the door monitoring the comings and goings. We can use the drive up at will though, and of course the ATM.

I am trying too.
I usually take a shower and wash all clothes when I am home after I have been out. Shoes and such stay on the floor for 24 to 72 hours as well. The purse I am using can be thrown into the wash for sanitation purposes. I am going to begin to carry a mask in my purse and the car, as I forgot my mask last week when I had Drs. Appt. Luckily Rod had his along, and he did not go into the office.

I just want to go shopping...I would even settle to go grocery shopping......... boohoo
Perhaps some day......

I'm going to start ordering Christmas gifts soon. Because I think the lock down and the following economic things will at least cause a mini depression, if not a full-on one. My kids will enjoy a few bangles, sparkles and fun by then. My girls will enjoy some warm socks and snuggly pajama bottoms and such. Teddy too.

What is happening now is still the first wave of this covid stuff. Just a new peak. I think it will nearly go away then return as travel picks back up and people get complacent. That's what happened during the Spanish flu during 1918-19.

I'm so glad we're all on board with the trying times ahead. Add things to your lists that make you happy! Be it favored foods or little things that won't break a budget. Projects to do for yourself and for others. Things you've always wanted to try. Something to look forward to on bleak days. Then remember the kids in your life needing the same things when you're purchasing gifts. They need things to do and help them grow in spite of what's happening on the other side of the door.

Yes, there will be plenty of craft kits bought for the long days ahead. My grands like 'old school' things so they are easy to buy for....balls, bubbles and such.

Yes,I agree..craft kits are a good idea. I bought them a sprinkler system by that one runs thru for the summery, but coming from china, it broke do their found one made in the US that is made better. We are all trying. But thanks for the ideas of craft kits..Carol is going to make sure she has acrylic paints on hand as well as. As well as a Sewing machine.

It is also nice to have my friends here to talk this all over with.

Fun fabrics, washable markers, shoe boxes, other small containers sidewalk chalk. I raised my older children without television for the most part. We were always looking for something to engage. And cheaply, very cheaply. My kids got for Christmas every year, crayons, a rainbow of markers, colored pencils, and personalized pencils. But I began collecting these at the earliest possible time.

My hair person makes jewelry and ordered some type of snips before things were shut down and still hasn't received them. They were ordered from Russia.

Shelley, Aubry, and I went to the Farmers Market in a little town about 20 minutes from me. It's where Johnny's children grew up and went to school. I ran into a girl, guess I should say woman, who went to high school with me and we had a nice chat. The humidity was low and the day was lovely.

Tina, no I do not know when she goes back to school some time on August I am guessing.
And of course, the girls are going with her to pre-school.
Thing is the kids may go to school on alternating days. We will see what actually happens.

Glad that you had a good time out, Sheri. That makes me happy.
