I may have made the mistake of buying my cast iron online. I thought hey, it would be nice to take care of a plant during this time. Cast irons seemed low maintenance and pet friendly so I gave it a shot. I am either overly concerned about it because I am a new plant owner and am going to be really disappointed if I can't even keep a cast iron alive.
It arrived with these spots:
So I am not sure if that was already a sign it had fungus or just calcium deposits from water...
Then when I repotted it since it came bare root, I feel like I over watered it and was concerned it had root rot. This new leaf grew:
Which is causing me concern. Is it ok? Can I save it? Other leaves are healthy but I am wondering if it is sick and I want to make sure I can either save it or spot the signs if I try again with another cast iron. I do live in a place with hard water. It is near a window but with North facing light. I have put it in the corner cause I know it doesn't need too much light. I only watered it this week (2 weeks since possible over watering while repotting) with left out water. I have looked around at articles and the internet but I'm kind of confused what exactly it is. Any advice or help is appreciated! Thank you.
