Nutrition is also high on the list for staying healthy. I'm thinking of meals also. I figure BLT's And bean salad for dinner tonight.

OH that sounds good Tina, I made a big salad yesterday for my dinner.. rest will be lunch today... trying to eat as healthy as I can …

Woke up early today, made a big breakfast for us... my potatoes are getting soft so will peel a bunch and make mashed and fried from them... makes it so much easier to make meals if it is ready to go in the freezer... and I have the room … I am making masks today , finishing one and making a couple more.. lots of places require them here now that our gov is allowing places to open, we intend to still quarantine.. high risk group age wise , want to see my grands grow up...

Hubby worked on the yard yesterday, mowed, fertilized, he trimmed some of the bushes too... made Milo happy he can get under them now to investigate all the new smells... they are out on a long walk right now... it's cooled off nicely so they are taking advantage of it...will be to hot again soon enough..

Well got to clean this office up some so I have room to make a new mess sewing … have a good day all and stay well.

Nana

My county stopped requiring masks on Friday. But most stores still require them so you might as well. I will wear one if I go out. I don't go out. The next wave is going to be worse than the first.

Yes, I think you are right. I just had an argument of sorts with a cousin of mine...( She lives in Illinois) says it is all their governors fault and he should just shut down the northern part of state and let the people in the rest of the state get back to living...says small businesses are going under and he is making more out if this that is necessary
That was just part of the conversation......we finally began talking about other stuff.

It only takes one person to start the wave again...anywhere. I don't know how any 'normal' will be seen anytime soon....staying home is our best option if we can.

Tina, is Tangela still running your errands?

I am not making this up. I ordered a $600.00 camera for our church. I received a baby monitor. I called customer service at Amazon, got a recording saying "sorry because of the virus no one is available to talk to me." I downloaded the app on my phone so I could do a "chat". Explained to Monika what happened. She responded that boxes aren't being checked before being sent out so she's not surprised I received a wrong item." She sent me a label and I'm taking it to UPS tomorrow. I didn't order another one. I'll try BestBuy instead.

So happy that your Daughter is doing all of your shopping, Tina.

If my DD did not only shop at Sam's they would probably still be doing ours as well. But with the curb side pick up at our local Wal-Mart we do not have to get out so it is still good... My DD said if we ever wanted a lot of something, just to let her know.
We will be only going out for Drs. Appts for a long while to come...and yes the state is beginning to open up, but we are not.

My, I didn't realize it was so late. I will wish everyone a good night.

Hi all, another melting day ahead here....I rake the snow to melt it then rake the ground underneath it lol

Sheri, DD bought GG a new bike last week, when we opened it...there were no pedals. Thankfully the manufacturer said they'd send them in the mail. No one is checking boxes anywhere.

Dark chocolate goes great with salty caramel.

I got some bags of seafood compost today....my veggie garden needs it badly. You just call in your order, drive to the store and they put it in the back of your truck. No contact whatsoever.

Yes ..we you are lucky my local box hardware store will not do curb side pick up on things like bags of soil and such or plants.

I think I need to call a few more places and check what they offer.

Home Depot and Lowes here will do that too, even before the pandemic. Also home deliveries for a charge.
I like fruity stuff when I'm thinking about baking, Cobbler type things.

Good Afternoon ,

I had a good morning , was able to move without hurting to much so juiced my bag of lemons... now in ice tray to make lemon cubes for lemonade... been wanting it for a while now... cleaned up my office yesterday.. after I finished up another mask for hubby,,, this one has ties , made out of shoe laces... governor has opened up stuff here but I agree,, in two weeks people will be sick and dying more than before... we are staying in … keeping busy with projects... I have a small decorative shelf I use for my coffee station, want to stain or paint it darker to match the cabinet it sits on , so hubby said he would get some stain for me next time he hits Home Depot.. we are having house stucco repaired and repainted next week too, sure hope the paint doesn't set his allergies off worse than they are now.. he hates taking meds but really needs to take them this time of yr...

Your cobbler talk made me hungry too, have a bag of blueberries in freezer may have to make one now... even if I have to make 2 small ones and freeze one for later...this cooking for 2 is hard for me... Well off to get my sheets out of dryer and start another load.. always something to keep me busy, just not always something I want to do! LOL!

Stay healthy and safe...
Nana

Cooking for a small family is hard, Sherri. I gave up trying. It is better having leftovers in fridge or freezer anyway. Two or more meals for pretty much the same work and time.
Stay safe!

Nice to see you, Nana...I may have to make a cobbler in a few days as well. I have these little 6 - 7 inch pie pans that makes enough for 1 dessert. I have one for each of us. I must say though..I am like Tina..I enjoy leftovers. As she says...more food for the same work..

Supper is done here...with enough left for tomorrow night...yay !!!

Sunny, wonder where in the world those pedals went? Gotta be hard to ride a bike without them smile

Tina, I made cupcakes yesterday. I've eaten 2 and now will have to take them to Shelley's because Johnny won't eat them and I'll eat all the rest if they're left here.

I want to talk about something I'm worried about. States are opening too early. A bunch of people are going back to work. The stock market is getting back at least on it's toes. The economy is still tanked though. The unemployment rates are still dropping.
Even if we don't get a bump in the numbers of covid cases just from opening up (which we will), there is a second wave on the horizon for the fall. The experts are predicting. Like the Spanish flu of 1918, it is expected to hit harder.
I am expecting our supply chain to be badly disrupted, worse than it has been. More than it has been. I expect us to have a very depression-like event, if not an actual Depression.
My suggestion to all is to prepare for that eventuality. Get food now while it is still available. I know that things have gone up, meat in particular. I know that our stores still have a hard time getting in paper goods, dry beans, rice and pasta, etc. But if you can get it, do.
I would really hate to see any of my friends suffering any lack of needed things. There is no better time.

I am thinking like you are, Tina. I had originally thought things would go back to normal this summer and then we would return back to ( things) this fall at some point.

Now I wonder if we will ever get back to " normal". Whatever that means.

You had some good advice there, Tina. I for one, thank you.r

Good night, Sweet Dreams everyone.

Well, I don't expect normal at all as we know it. Things like shaking hands might not come back, for instance. A small thing but it will change I think.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

Amen. Even when this is over, taxes and 'clawbacks' will hit us even harder financially.

I am thinking like you, Tina. At one point I was looking for the virus to go away, and then come back say in the fall of winter...now I wonder if it wil! Ever go away..and so I am thinking of preparing for it myself.

Good morning !

I have already washed dushes, washed my hair and cleaned most of the bathroom.
Now to drink coffee.

Good morning.
Wow, I am unable to do all of that before coffee, Carol.
Yes, Sunny. You understand what I am talking about. Our whole basic financial structures are endangered. A trillion here and a trillion there and pretty soon none of it matters. It's just paper spread around the world. Like a virus.

I am with you Tina.. we have our stash put away... hubby still buys extra when he can find it, he went yesterday and couldn't buy any beef except steak and found one big family size ground beef pkg.. he said most of butcher cases were empty... got what he could and our freezers are full … this isn't over by any means... maybe I read to many end of the world books but I would rather be prepared than not.

We will be isolating here at home for the foreseeable future... prepared as we can be in this small town...

Well hubby will be back soon walking Milo.. have to go out early before the heat hit's... so better get breakfast started... and then get the meat he did get sealed and in freezer.. may cook so of the burger for spaghetti sauce then seal it , we don't eat that to often.... but nice to have it ready to go when the desire hits..

Have a good day all, stay safe and well... coffee is on and making bacon and eggs... sautéed mushrooms to go with... orange juice and tea too!

Nana

Sounds good, Sherri. I have some bacon here to either eat or freeze, too.
I like reading. And some of my reading has included the stories that came out of the Great Depression. I find them really compelling and uplifting.
And cookbooks are wonderful too. Food rationing during the great wars and such. What you can substitute for what when cooking or baking.
These are things that make me think good things of our chances in the future.

There is a book on substitutions? Or did I misunderstand ? If I did not, please let me know the name of that book p!ease.

Nana, so very glad that you are prepared. I am somewhat, but if course I would be happy to have more on hand.

Beginning to get cloudy here....
