Anyone know how to make the pics smaller? For mobile capability the forum auto maximizes images to be full width; the only way would be to post smaller resolution photos... I'll see about adjusting the maximum height allowed.

those fern leaf bleeding hearts are so pretty. Sunny, that blue is a hydrangea. Some years it's very dark blue, others its very pale, and this year it's this blue. It has to do with the minerals in the soil.

Thanks. I got a new fern leaf one for Mother's Day but it has white flowers. They are the only perennial here that blooms from spring frost to Fall frost....the hardiest little plant I have ever seen. Sheri, I got a potted hydrangea for Mother's Day last year. It is supposed to only be a nursery plant but DH told me to plant it just for fun since the blue flowers were so pretty. Well to my surprise I have a tiny shoot growing from it....I wonder if it is really a plant like yours? What do you add to keep it blue?

Ammonium sulfate. I'm going to try and remember to add some to the soil. I have no idea how often or how much is needed but I figure some is better than none.

Not sure why those are sideways. They’re not in my file.
I’m not fighting the deer for the blueberries another year. It’s not worth it.

We have a fence. The deer just jump over it. They don't bother a whole lot in our yard so I figure why fight them on this. They always eat most of the blackberries too. At least their getting their antioxidants.

I have 4, we bought them at the end of season at Walmart for $4 a piece because they were missing their labels....I guess they didn't realize that the sticker underneath the pot states what variety they were.

Those are marigolds on steroids. They came from seeds from my sister in West Virginia. I can't get store bought ones around her to get anywhere near that large.

Thanks Sheri, yes, that is all hostas. My front yard faces North East so not a lot grows well but hostas just thrive. I have hostas, bleeding hearts, black eyed susans and astilbes in that full row....with the addition of a purple smoke bush in the closest corner this year. I need something that has height and interest so I hope it grows well.

Thanks. I am waiting for the plants on all the other sides to mature...the front was done so many years ago but the last three sides are quite sparse.
Hostas do amazing here...I have a few other varieties on other sides but they are still small yet.

Yes, I thought it was early for flowers as well. Perhaps it is because I now live further south ? The brick is nice..thanks... Personally I dont care for the brown rock...but then it is what they chose. Good thing it is sparce in that particular bed..it makes planting my flowers much easier. At home I used a rock called Alabama sunset. It had red-ishes..and and dk blue rocks...still many colors like this but no browns. Thanks though for your kind words.

My hostas have been flowering for a while. I worked with a woman who liked hosta plants but didn't like the flowers so she'd cut them off every year. Weird people.

I cut the flowers from my two variegated ones in the front Sheri, they grow so spindly that they fall over by the time they bloom. I bring them in to flower in a vase.

Still a nice sunflower ! Below is my lone Surprise lily. There should be more. We will see. The other dieing p!ant in the circle is the yucca plant that we thought that we got rid of. It will be gone sooner or later.

Interesting place to plant it, up against the house, because it's a tree. Polite way to put it. You will have to talk to the lady who used to live here. She now resides in Florida....I But no worrirs, Rod says he needs to trim/ prune it this fall. From what I have read, that could well kill it. She/They did a lot if "different" things in the house and the yard. I could complain for hours.

I hope it doesn't kill it. I think if pruned property they can become more bush like than tree like. Ask Rod to read up on it first. They volunteer here like weeds so we have two that we didn't plant and we leave them alone. Actually wish I had noticed them before they got too big to pull up. I love that color.

Very pretty Bestofour. Junie, handprints on a pot would be a great idea to do with all those grands

She gave me that for my birthday. I have sprayed it. I hated to use it but she said "you need to use it for your flowers." She's the only one of my grans that loves flowers like I do.

Well then, to use it was the thing to do, Sheri. Yes Sunny I agree. Perhaps I will tell Val to use that idea as a gift.

I also have a couple of garden stones with their hand prints. You can buy kits at Michaels or Hobby Lobby. And I have a wall in the toy room with their hand prints from when they were tiny people. One day I guess I'll have to paint over all that.

Nope, Sheri, you do not have to paint over thst. Put up open frames to make them look lime pictures. Then you can paint the rest of the room. Sunny, great flowers ! Good for you !

Good idea Junie. Remember the pot of marigolds on steroids? I don't know exactly what happened but something or someone jumped through the middle of them and broke and bent the stems. They were too tall for an adult to do it unless they feel over the pot. The pot and flowers together have got to be 5 feet tall so why would an adult do that. It sits in between 2 raised beds so it's not a place someone would be walking through.

That is just sad Sheri....I will hope it was a cat or some other animal.. But sometimes you have to wonder about people.
Below is a photo of my volunteer petunia. Complements of a bird I guess.I took it this morning.

Here is Blooming fine 2020, Sunny. I was going to start BF 2021 but I thought you might want to, as you had something to post.
