Gracious..I think I should stop complaining about my cold days...showed it to my DH.
Do you know how much there is so far ??? Give or take ?
But I must say, it looks like a scene one would see on a Christmas Card.

I wish I could share my weather with you, Sunny.
Happy Earth Day. No going out in a crowd to pick up trash today. I gotta figure out a way to do it from home.

That is a lot of snow, Sunny...I wish Tina could share her weather as well.
I hope everyone 's Earth Day was good. I just did some house cleaning and replanted some green onions and basil for mine.....I also set my potted lilac bush out to get rained on....it should be one happy bush.

Goodnight wavy

Good morning. My lilacs are a pinky-purple variety that are geared for my warmer climate. One in a pot and one in the ground. They will bloom bfore Mother's day and begone.

Hello!.I have been busy all day. Then this evening my DD texted me saying they were making a grocery list and did I need anything ? Well yes of course I did...but I only gave her a partial list.
And guess what! There is no milk to be bought at the Sam's club that is close to here..Now on TV, the news says that farmers are having to dump their milk., As there is no market....so does anyone want to tell me how there is no milk in all of a large Sam's club ???? Couldn't they buy the milk from the farmers that had milk to sell ????

Lucky for Carol she has powdered milk on hand...My coffee will thank me. LOL

I'm not sure how the system works in the U.S. Junie, but here there is a quota system. You know ahead how much milk you are allowed to produce and sell. If you pump more than your share into the milk truck then you are fined because it is taking the next farmer's 'allowed amount' to be put in the truck.

The reason for a lot of the shortages is the closures of the facility that packages the item. The stock they have is then limited to the stores, meaning less or none is put on the shelves. We hear of more closures each day.

I am making up my grocery list to be called in an hour.

I have cleaning products coming from Amazon. They may have refrigerated items but as I think it would cost me almost $14.99 to have those items shipped, I didn't even check.

I would like to go check the local stores, but at this time that is not a good option. I think I may see if I can order powdered milk...

I am not envious of your snow and I will not tell you our weather people say we will hit 100* next week... but on the other side hubby is mowing and watering now...

I have been trying to make hubby an appt to get bloodwork done, dr ordered... have to do it online and they are only working half days evidently.. or less... finally got website to work and it said closed for day... so will try again Mon morning... sure glad it's not life or death...
My inlaws here are still letting people come visit every day... told them we would stay gone for the duration... they just don't think it's real and she is diabetic... and over 70.. at least she is making him come to town for shopping,, but they don't have extra food put away, hope all his drinking buddies will share when they run out..

Well got laundry to get done... and a couple more masks to make so have a good day all... stay well and safe...

Our temps are stretching up there, Sherri. Keep cool.
Nope, not going out until numbers come way down. My county has 1608 confirmed cases and 77 deaths. My state has 37,369 confirmed and 1469 dead. Not doing anything to add to those numbers. The dates the politicians have mean very little to me.

I agree with you, Tina. I too will stay in until I feel it is safe.
As of 2 p.m. today.....
We have tested 67,017 people for the covid-19 in the state of Missouri.
There have been 6625 cases in the state with 262 deaths
In our county there have been 59 cases so far and 1 death

Either there are less people in our county, we are social distancing well, or it has not really "arrived" here yet. I think I will wait a while yet before I go out I think I should have a better idea of the answer to that question before I decide.

Goodnight. See you all tomorrow.

Sweet dreams, Carol.
On the confirmed cases, there hasn't been much testing. I think if we could test all 2.15 million people in my county there would be a lot more. I think when they get the anti-body test revved up, they will find a lot more people had it than is now known.
Same with LA county to my immediate left with a population of 10.12 million. There are a lot of peeps here.
Good night all.

Good morning, They opened some beaches here in California. But not the parking lots for them. It has been a zoo there. It makes me glad to not be anywhere near them. I also foresee a bump in the numbers.

Yes, I think you are both right..I too am going to keep most of the old rules. Problem will be my SIL going back to work ( he is IT at the local hispital) and so I worry for rebounds and then I will worry about visiting them...at least until there is a vaccine.

Good morning. I am making no-brainer cinnamon rolls today

Cinnamon rolls sound good, Carol. I am so into fruity filled pastry and such. I see a piece of fresh fruit and turn it into baked goods ln my imagination. In reality, very little baking goes on here. It's too hot already.

Thanks they were good. Nice and flaky. However, they needed more flour than the recipe called for. DH requested I add oatmeal next time instead of more flour.....and to double the recipe.

I'm glad it was shovel-able, Sunny. I would have needed a pickax to get to my cothesline in Rochester, NY.

lol Well I had to cut into it with the shovel because it was to heavy to go through with the hand blower...I should have used a pick ax. lol

They have announced that we can form a 'two family bubble' starting today....but our family(DD and my mother) won't stay home so I refused all offers.

Good morning.
I agree with you wholeheartedly, Sunny.
I cut my hair last night. I haven't looked yet to see how it came out. It feels good though. I have to cut Teddy's next.

Ah yez, cutting hair.. I should really..but I will put it off for awhile....Valarie has an appt. For 2 weeks away (we go to the same girl). I will see what she thought...or if she goes at all.

Gracious Sunny..sorry to hear that. I read one comment one person made in a Facebook thread about opening up the various states. That person said..well, it is a free country Stay at home if YOU want to...well yes, but what about the person who has a job, and needs said job. If all things are opened up, people will be told to come back to work...and unless you are working to keep yourself occupied, you will go back to work..if you want to or not...Gracious.

Rod cut grass early today..so I went out after lunch to rake up what I could to use on my blackberries, and it was raining just enough to drive me back into the house.

Now I am waiting for the dryer to stop.

If people stay out of those businesses, everyone is safer. It does not help the economy much. I am in favor of health, myself. We do not know enough about this virus to gamble peoples lives. We need more learning, more testing, more numbers. We have more questions than answers.

I am with you Tina.... staying home for duration... so glad we stocked up and can survive ok for a couple months if we need to.. and we may at the rate it's going... talked to my youngest, in Colo.. she is still working but she says the panic buying has slowed down... she thinks probably cause they ran out of money or finally realized the truckers are still driving... hopefully this is soon over but we are not counting on it... her son lost his job and she hired him at the store to stock at night... and he and his girlfriend and the baby moved down close to her so she gets to see him a lot... she will be going to the school of Mines when schools open or online if they don't … my two grandsons do online school so nothing changed for them... my hubby is supposed to be getting blood work done and the lab here is closed according to the website... so hubby has to call doc later to see what she wants him to do... won't be going to Tucson if that's what she wants … joys of small town life during a pandemic...
Well off to get off next months birthday cards... or at least get them ready to go out... gotta a bill to pay too.... so glad we do it online...

Have a good day all and stay well....
Nana

Nice to hear from you. Sounds as if things are going well for you. That is good to hear. Stay safe..stay well.

I finally went out. All Rod and I raked up was a 5 gal bucket of grass clippings. But hey, it covered the small area I had that was empty under my blackberries. It is the little things.

Aw, the smell of fresh cut grass....mmmm.

This pandemic is not going to go away anytime soon...especially with reckless people everywhere. Our province got over 700 calls to the 'tip' line this weekend, which makes no sense...you can call to report the rule breakers but by the time they check it...the people are all gone back home.

The sun is shining and the snow is melting...ever so slowly. I can't wait to be able to get my raking done. I have to call in an order soon at the hardware store...and add a rake for GG, apparently she needs her own. lol I'll not argue with a future gardener.

So, DH got a neighboring farmer to pick up our pig feed when he went for his today(they do favors back and forth). DH went to pick up the feed at the neighbors house and GG went for a drive. The farmer put the feed in the box of the truck then opened up the door and set a box down in the back seat with a bucket of something.

GG opened the box to find two baby chicks inside and the bucket had chick feed....so guess what is in my house, in a box by the woodstove for a few weeks? I pray they live, they are only one week old. egad

Sunny I feel for you waiting for the snow to melt. It was beautiful here today. I have lettuce and radishes ready to eat from the garden. A lot of people have already planted their entire garden. I'm going to wait a few more days.

If they are female...at this age it's a 50/50 chance that we have two roosters lol

It was wonderful to wake up to the sound of birds chirping this morning though....even if it was from inside my house.

We are supposed to have a 'good melting day' today. thumbup

Good morning. It was raining when I got up, but now I hear birds ( not baby chicks) chirping..so I guess the rain has stopped.

Yay for rain Sunny, and yay for melting snow !

Had to make powdered milk. None at Sam's when I ordered it...

Junie, here they are forcing the farmers to dump excess milk to keep a milk price drop from happening like the gas situation. People are overbuying more than normal causing a shortage to the 'normal' supply allowed for supermarkets. It all makes no sense.

Well, milk only lasts so long..so there is that. However, there are those who freeze, extra, to avoid going out later, and people like me who is " trying" to buy gallons instead of half gallon s to avoid going out...I too froze about 1-1\2 qt.of my gallon to make sure it stays good. But now I may make Rod go from store to store look ok my for milk soon.

Sorry about your knees Tina. Is it arthritis? Have you ever tried Glucosamine?

Junie, why can't you go buy dirt? Put on a mask, let them load it, then leave it in your car in the heat for a few days. The radishes are so good. I hate there's no way to save some for all winter.

Sunny, I had a pet chicken one time. Not sure where I got it. We've talked about getting chickens for the eggs but I think it would bring in every creature in town trying to eat them. We don't have a lot of creature problems and I don't want them to start. A few of my friends have a problem with coyotes because they have chickens.

Yes, Sheri. I use Glucosamine with Condroitin regularly. I don't see much of a difference when I miss a day or so though.

I gave my sister some back on the day for her knees..

Sheri..there are several things I could do with proper preparations. But between my Daughter and my DH, I dare not go anywhere much...After the governor opens up the state, I will tell them both I WILL get my soil, pots, and plants.

I just finished cleaning the kitchen. After my soap, I will head to sleep. Sweet Dreams.

I went out yesterday...just to the butcher shop(I loaded up on chicken, our local store ran out) but it was exhausting just trying to keep people away. People just do not want to social distance, I was the only person in the store with a mask and gloves. touched

Aching bones seems to be the only 'reward' for working hard all one's life....my grandfather used to put WD-40 on his knees lol

Good morning.

Yes about other people not social distancing. About a week and a half ago, the people about a block away from us had a huge party. Cars all up and down the road...although they really do not have room in their driveway, still there was a lot of people. Then our neighbors to the west had her DD come over with her 3 kids..one a 3 week old baby....later she said the kids stayed in the yard...but I could swear I saw the DD taking a walk around the block when I was doing the same, which means "grandma" had the baby and was watching the other 2....

Sorry you were in such a scenario, Sunny. But glad you now have meat.

I haven't been out for a couple of months. I wonder what it would be like now. I've heard lots of stories about it from around the country and the world but haven't experienced it personally.
Good morning.

I just ordered my Mother's Mother's Day gift and had it sent to my sister's house...probably too late to get there in time but we can hope.

I find just being out in the yard helps me tremendously....But who knows what our new "normal" will be like...

I don't travel much either but I miss my once a month trip to Walmart and the Dollar store....as well as my visits from GB.

I don't do online shopping so it has been a pain to not have items that I want/need.

I only online shop if DH is willing to use his Credit card...(not for many things), or if they take pay pal credit. This is not a fun time for me at all.

Walmart shopping will return and maybe your dollar store too. Did it shut down as a nonessential business, Sunny? Many of our dollar stores also have food so they are still around.
I mostly shop online for things like Teddy's sweats. If I buy him regular sweats like Hanes or something, they tend to tear out in the seat or crotch in one wearing. I get much better quality from Lands End. Costly but it beats wear-once-and-dispose.

Evening all,

Just finished doing next months budget... put it off cause my office was really warm,,, don't want to turn on air yet so waited till could open window for breeze... but it got done... was over 90 here today and every ceiling fan and stand fan was going but it is getting really close to 100 so may have to bite the bullet and turn on air... oh well better than snow and rain.... so won't complain to much... we arranged to have our house and shed painted in a couple weeks... they will seal all the stucco cracks and seal around all the windows.. paint the patio cover and the shed too... we have seen their work and do a good job … took us a while to decide to paint it the same as it is now... it's a Spanish style house and I like the colors... hubby wasn't sure but told him it just fits the style and neighborhood..

I have made a couple washable masks for hubby and I am working on a couple more .. I think this will last longer than they say too... and don't want to be caught short … just glad we shopped early and a lot..even though it hit the budget hard... I have been home except for doc appts and blood tests... he had a over the phone one today … life is changing and may just stay that way.... who knows...
Well going to go find leftovers for dinner... not to hungry when it's so warm but plan to try and find a good size outside table to eat at when it's nice outside to eat... we grill a lot so it would be easy to do...

Enjoy your evening … stay well.

Nana

Wow ! Nana, so hot so early ?? I am so sorry. Glad that you got your house painted.

Washable masks, sounds perfect! Good for you !
I have a few paper ones like you see in Drs. Offices..but as I have no sewing machine, I hope I can make them last long enough. Glad that you can make your own. That makes me smile.

We had leftovers to night. Tomorrow I am putting pork chops in a slow cooker. Easy and good..at least I think so.

Tina, the stores are open but I am just trying to avoid the crowds....I miss the browsing part of it(it was the only me time I got it seems...all by myself for a few hours).

Enjoy the new paint Nana....it's good to keep up with the cracks forming.

Well, DH inspected the front door and it seems we will have to replace the whole thing. It is 26 years old so it lasted as long as it could I suppose....our Winter weather is hard on exterior items. Now to keep an eye out for a sale on one.

We are getting heavy rain today....the snow is melting before our eyes thumbup

Good morning.

I have heard that people are going to Wal-Mart here and want to walk around and walk around...I guess they are invited to leave. There was a letter on Facebook saying while we ( Wal-Mart) understand that you are board, now is not the time to walk around Wal-Mart for hours. You are invited to come in, Get your items and then leave. I have heard nothing since.

Well I guess it is time for a new door. Good luck on the hunt. I hope you find a nice one.
I am glad the snow is melting...it is supposed to be sunny here today...possible sprinkles tonight.

I moved some wild violets to a bed against the house
.they took hold well and are even starting to bud. My magnolia tree has a few blooms yet..and what is left of my azalea bush has a few flowers as well.
I think next year I am going to try to remove it and buy a purple flowering Azalea bush for the same place.

Good afternoon. Electric to move some BlackBerry shoots..but they were runners from a main brznch, so I tried one then we stopped.

We have 4 baby robins in the front yard byshes. Kinda makes it awkward to go get the mail but we don't want to upset momma bird.

Storms due here at 3 pm....

No, not yet....the ground is soaked and there is still snow everywhere.

Momma birds are quite protective....you might have to 'duck and hide' to get your mail Junie lol

Yep momma birds are quite protective. We are trying to avoid her " bush" as much as possible.

Just took a few of my smaller pots into the house. We are going to possibly getting a storm with winds.
oops..here comes the rain !

Oh my , more snow... wish I could send you some of our heat … may have to break down and turn on air for a few days... supposed to hit 100 here for a few days then cool off again... so far fans are doing ok but not much getting done in the heat... grill and crockpot dinners... to hot to cook on the stove...

Hubby has a labwork appt tomorrow.. had to change labs or go to hospital so we changed lab... ours closed for who knows why.. recording just says temporarily closed... crazy times... but he has to have blood work done to see if new meds are working well eough…
Well have a couple more masks cut out and ready to sew,,, going to make a couple straps with buttons to go with to make them more comfortable... why knows how long we will be wearing them...

Off to sewing land... stay well and enjoy your days..
Nana

I want to share some of my heat also. But not trade. Just a few degrees here and there.

I could spare you about 10 degrees, Carol. But I don't know how to ship them.
