This morning I had a Skype meeting with my DD and her family on the East coast. Then"MY" family had a Zoom meeting this afternoon. It was grand.

Now I have pork steak in the oven, potatoes for chive-buttered potatoes cooking. There will be deviled eggs, and biscuits as well..and dessert..oh yes, we would not want to forget about that.

Happy Easter everyone !

Yes, I agree. I do not know what I would do if I did not have you guys to lean on and be with thru this. You are exactly right Tina. And I tell my family all the time that it is thanks to you that I am so well prepared for this mess.

I was referring to how we in my family would have spent the day with each other if we were not under this quarantine/and virus. So, my Nephew found a different way for us to be together. Hence my comment.

Amen kissie

My mother had to pick up her taxes that I just done for her, so I told her to come at 5pm...she got her taxes and a turkey supper through the dining room window. Whoever thought I'd be serving 'take-out'. lol

It is a rainy day today...the snow will melt some more.

I think we are all some form of drive thru right now... I made a big plate of leftovers for our next door neighbor lady, I will leave it on the porch for her and call her to tell her it's there, she still goes out a lot and has her grandkids over with their mother so I won't make contact with her... but I know she and her daughter don't cook much so will do this for her,, made a turkey and the fixens yesterday... bout wore me out but it got done... now I have to make up some enchiladas for the freezer and slices for sandwiches.. few plates of tv dinners too. seal it all for when we don't want to cook... or heaven forbid one of us is ill.. will make some soup too... and bone broth... hubby cleaned kitchen last night and I only had to do a few things over.. so that was a good thing....LOL!
Hubby is out walking Milo , it's really windy here and may rain later.. good day for staying in so will work on a few more masks and maybe even vacuum and dust...

Have a good day all and stay well... prayers..

Nana

Wow! Takeout meals ! You are both good ladies. If I lived closer I would request a take out meal as well.

I think it is time to begin " strange meals" here. We will have bratwurst tonight with left over stroganoff and salad as sides. I think it is better to have strange meals than to have wasted food.

Washing clothes here.

Good morning.

Back at the farm I had the older type Windows.. With screens.
My MIL came over and helped me clean them. One of us in, one of us out. It still took all day, and we could not get to the 2nd story. 2 weeks later it rained and you could not tell we touched them... From that day on, I never washed the outside of the Windows until Rod replaced all the Windows in the house. We replaced 2 every year. They were the type that dropped in on so you could wash the outside from the inside. They were wonderful.
Now, here I sit with older style windows yet, as to wash any of the outside Windows you would have to go out and physically remove the screens. At the farm you could get to them by putting the screens up and down.
Yesterday I washed the kitchen window. And yes, it is clean, but you would never know it. And trust me, Rod is not of an age to start replacing these windows.I

Ok apparently I have been indoors too long.

We had freezing temps here last night.

What I meant Tina was I was going to use by left over beef stroganoff as a starch side...you know, as it had noodles in it. I decided to make the left over mashed potatoes into potato pancakes instead.

Tonight it will be hash..made with the left over chive/ butter boiled potatoes that I turn into fried potatoes and ground beef. I will add cooked green beans to it as well.....then it will be a one pot meal.

Junie, we replaced ours with the ones that open and drop in...you can take the screens out from the inside as well once they are opened....but I still have to go out to do the middle large pane in the living room, only the two sides open. It is too cold to open the windows to clean them...that's what I meant to say.

We had leftovers here...turkey soup. Now it is all gone.

Oh Turkey soup...you know I am envious. I just ate, and I am still hungry (for your soup)p

Oh I think you wrote it well, Sunny. It just made me think of how difficult it is for me to wash my Windows now compared to My last house. Esp. Since I tried to clean one yesterday.

Thanks so much, Tina....Rod was very pleased with our meal.

Going out to cover up my tender vegetation soon.

Sandwiches sound good. Esp. If it is hot outside. I hope it was enjoyed by you all.

When it is hot, I also like to make salads. But a yummy sandwich sounds good as well.

Watching a new deadliest catch episode right now.

I am just about out of lettuce. My next salad will either be a Waldorf salad or celery/carrot salad with some lettuce as a side part of the salad.I am soon going to make a new grocery list. With luck I will get to order some fresh veggies, and perhaps even some fruit..

At least I hope so.

I will say goodnight now. Sweet Dreams.

I have to go pick up our piglet later today....they were ordered before this pandemic so everyone still has to go. They are setting up appointment times, you just drive to the farm, they put it in your cage...you drop the money in a bag, they check the amount then you drive home.
It's too bad because it was nice to wait around and visit with all the farmers.

I'll take some of your heat...it is taking forever for my snow to melt.

It's turned cold here too. I'm glad because it got too hot too soon. We've had some hellacious storms lately though. I'm thinking about going to Colt's for a day or two. They've been inside we've been inside so I think if we had the virus we'd know it by now. His birthday is this month and I just hate not to see him.

If you go to see Colt. Please stay safe.

It flurried on and off here all day yesterday. DH got home from work early so we both went for the piglet...then ended up with two because DH said one by itself is too pitiful lol

We got two males(already castrated at birth)...Tina, it is $90 for a 6 week old piglet. I'll post pics tomorrow. They are kept in a 4 ft high pen so the kids can't 'get at them' to make pets.

So, we now have 5 cows(one pregnant), two horses, two chickens and two pigs....and a catload of barn cats haha

So how many cats in a "catload" Sunny ??? Hummm why

Wow A 6 ft fence. That sounds like a high fence. But now in their isolation, they will have company, right ?

That sounds like a lot of animals..sou d's to me as If you have a full fledged farm going there.

Still cold here...see, it is all my fault..I should not have changed over my jammies and every day clothes so soon. My apologies to you all.

Now, if it doesn't cost you an arm and a leg to bring them up to weight, you'll have some good bacon and ham to eat and maybe sell. Good going, Sunny.

Tina, it costs about $1.60 a pound to raise them by yourself with feed by the time they are ready for the butcher. We feed them all our veggie and fruit scraps as well and fatten them up on buckets of wild apples in the Fall.

What's for dessert Junie?

I have to venture out to town to use the bank machine...wish me luck(I have a mask and gloves) and lots of hand sanitizer.
