Sounds good, Tina. About my soups. They are full of veggies and barley. ( no potatoes) then I make some type of noodles to add to each bowl. I also have crackers or some crusty bread on the side.

I am still watching my soap.

I love soups as well. I made a chicken, vegetable one yesterday....it is GG's favorite.

Well, we found out that the nurse practitioner that is at our local little clinic has Covid-19, confirmed after spending two days at the clinic trying to hurry everyone in before they closed it. (all community clinics were closed in our province). So now begins the waiting game for all the elderly that had contact hoping to stay safe. It will be a disaster.

That being said, my grocery order was delivered...and I sanitized every item on the step before bringing it in. We have fruits, veggies and fresh milk for another two weeks.

Good morning.

Glad that you have fresh fruit and veggies, Sunny. That really does help. Glad that you sanitized everything.

Sorry to hear about the NP. This is so scary.

We had Another half inch of rain last night. I think we are getting our allotment of rain and somebody else's as well.

Good morning.
I will cook today. I just don't want mac 'n cheese again. And I'm running out of peas and carrots too. One package of frozen left and no frozen or canned in the stores when my daughter goes in.

Oh my, I am so sorry, Tina...can you get fresh carrots ? Perhaps if you could you could cut up some of them to look correct, cook and use them in the place of the frozen ?

Had to unpack a re-pak my box. In my haste, I left an item out...oh well, hopefully that will reach me to take my time in the future.

Oh, I am so sorry..yes it is..it is for my 4 grandchildren that live in Virginia...and a little something for their parents as well....I do plan on going to Amazon tonight and ordering a book for each of them as well. Before this began I decided to order the books and have them delivered to save the cost of shipping. It is now a better idea than ever.

Yes, a good idea. Also somethings may not be readily available. And even Amazon Prime is not able to get their stuff out in 1-2 days right now.

Checking in from AZ.... was on computer showing hubby how I do the budget and pay bills , he has never done it and decided if I got sick he needs to know basics at least...sure glad we direct deposit and use auto bill pay for most everything.. sil still goes in and pays a lot of bills.. tried to get her to set up most for auto payments but she only did part of them... did have to explain again how I won't go out there to visit anymore and neither is hubby... they let anyone in to visit and I am not willing to get sick that way... worry enough about my kids... and grands , not willing to chance it … her hubby still thinks it's just a big deal blown out of proportion... guess he won't believe it till he gets it... older than me both of them, and she is diabetic... she should be hold up at home but he won't even come into town to get her insulin... hubby told her he would pick it up for her and put in her mailbox for her but he wouldn't go on their property … she has to write a letter for pharmacist giving permission and he idiot of a husband says it's to much trouble... I called her to tell her to do it anyway... so hope she listens … he even wanted her to go get beer for him and his hangers on when she picked up her insulin... that's really a necessity! at least she didn't do that...

Well I better get busy and get my laundry started... funny how that never ends... stay safe and well... prayers for all of us!
Nana

You got the right idea, Sherri. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself as much as possible. I wish you could feel better about your sister's options. Heck, I wish I could and don't even know her. I feel for all the dead and dying and the families left behind.
I ended up not going out. My older daughter went out for me. I am blessed too.

Spoke to my DD today..she took down a list of what I was out of that I have to have...I said. Milk and eggs..then if they had it lettuce and tomatoes.

BUT I have powdered eggs for baking so that will be ok.

Glad your DD went out for you, Tina...I guess we raised our kids right since they are ready to help us, huh ?

Nana I am so sad for your relatives. I wish people would just believe what they are hearing and act accordingly.
About the bill thing. I have hubby handle his own medical stuff, and I handle mine, for just the reason you did. He can figure out the bills of need be. Glad your Hubby is wanting to learn.

A lot of people are still not taking this seriously...they are the ones that are at risk of spreading it. They have started giving out fines in the neighboring province, hefty ones at that.

They announced today that for people to cancel all plans until at least July 1st. There will be a lot of sad brides-to-be with that order.

Keep safe everyone kissie

I think the fear of a hefty fine might prompt some to heed the stay at home order. Whatever works I guess. But who decides if one had to go out or not ? July 1 st huh..we shall see what happens here...I have a cardiologists check up scheduled for July 1st. It was due in March but I moved it up in hopes that it would be ok to travel by then...We shall see.

Good morning! Thank goodness for coffee.

My SIL is going shopping one more time this afternoon for his family and for us. We will have to make do until sometime in may then.

I have pre-made sliced bread in my freezer, and I have 5 loaves of frozen bread dough in the freezer as well. Finally I have sugar, oil, yeast and flour...so bread is not an issue. I even have powdered eggs for baking. The problem will be milk...I have a small amount of shelf stable milk, and some powdered milk....If we have to, We will ask Brian to please go get us more milk.... Luckily, the owners of the local meat market live behind us. She has told us several times that she would be happy to bring us meat..., I may just take them up on that offer yet.

You are very well stocked for two of you.
i see Mo. still has no statewide orders. I'm glad you are abiding by a stay at home routine, Carol. Stay at home has flattened the curve in Calif. Now we're going to masks in public. I'm glad they are getting it.

Thank you, Tina, I hope we are well stocked.....that it will last until we can go out in awhile and restock what we have used up. I have a notion that once this virus stops being an issue, it will pop back up once the weather cools off again. I guess I will worry until we get a vaccine in place.

The good news is I am less frightened that I was a week ago.

I am glad that California is doing better. That too gives me hope..

I trust that you are well stocked ?

Well, we have over 9900+ cases and not enough testing/results. With 60 known recovered and 215 deaths.
But compared to NY numbers, we're doing well. I am feeling calmer also.

Can you buy whole milk in bags there Junie? We can here and they freeze quite well.

It's another cold, flurrying day here....time is even longer when one can't go outside.

Here the boxes of milk can be stored on the shelf until you open them. I knew milk can be frozen, but I was afraid to freeze the plastic bottles. we have no l bags of milkhere, but I am guessing the plastic 1/2 gallon containers would freeze, huh Tina ? what do you think. I made my oldest a birthday cake this morning..spice cake with Peanut butter icing...It is ready for when her DH comes by with our Groceries. After lunch I will go downstairs..there is a file that needs cleaned out. And then this year's papers put back in.

Just got my groceries ..so I wiped some things off with a disinfectant wipe, some washed in Dawn, hot water and vinegar. Scrubbed as well. I now have milk, extra bread, eggs, Apple's and in some frozen but fresh garden corn from Brian's mother. If my grand's knew that..they might walk over here and get it back...every time they take a bite of corn no matter where they are, they say " is this pop-pops corn ?

and my 4 tomato plants. 2 cherry and 2 regular. ...yay !!!

Junie, we can't go into our banks at all. Everything has to be done at the drive through window. I did online grocery shopping for the first time and now I wonder why I haven't been doing it anyway. Shelley's been doing it for a few years and kept telling me how great it is but I just never did it.

Do you know the CDC says we are supposed to be masked when going about our business in the world now? I see that Missouri now has a stay at home order as of the coming Monday. I'm glad but it's mighty late for that. But better than tomorrow.
Sweet dreams all.

Thing is the way I understand it, the masks protect others from you ( if you have the virus--remember you can be contagious 14 days before you show symptoms) but not you from others, so I guess if others are not wearing a make and are contageous, that can go thru your mask ??..kinda backwards in my mind...

until today we could call and make an appointment to go into our bank..I am assuming if one "needed" to do business inside of their bank they would only allow that one person in for a set amount of time. As we had no need for it I am not sure how it woked.

Yes the state-ordered stay at home mandate will begin on Monday...BUT our county wide mandate begins at midnight tonight.

Thing about the masks is I just read a thing online and it looked to me as If the cotton masks when used by themselves will do no good. I am hoping I misunderstood what I read.

About the online shopping, my neighbor did it for the first time yesterday...she said it was complicated to get set up ( Wal-Mart) but once she did figure it out it was great...but you need to use your credit card...but oh well.

. The grocery store that I used all the time back in Illinois, is now doing order ahead groceries...and all you have to do is call them, and give them your order..no need to navigate the internet...wish that had of been the case back when I lived there.....or better yet that the grocery I use now would be offering that...

There are no masks to be found anywhere...and they say the homemade ones can harm more than do good. why

I never bought the theory on the masks doing no good. Why would doctors and nurses, etc use them so religiously? Even dentists? If nothing else, they will help remind you to not touch your face.
But in general, I love my country and the world in general. If I can do one thing that is uncomfortable like quarantining myself or masking myself, that might help one other person live, then I'm all for it.
Good morning.
