Wow long time since I was in here this early … and no one here …… we are still doing ok here in the bottom of Az.. gov still hasn't put us on quarantine but we did ourselves as much as possible... I went out for first time yesterday cause I had to have a blood test.. was interesting … went on website , made appt. , told them when we were there in car... they messaged me when I tech was free.. walked in , she took my blood and paperwork.. with gloves on and sent me on my way... today it was back already and doc changed my scrip.. so hubby went to pick new one up at Walgreens... keeping whats left of old scrip incase this gets worse and we can't get new meds.. my doc sent out and email too and said she would do home visits if you are ill and don't want to go to office... one advantage of being in a small town...
Well guess I better go get something accomplished.. so far all my kids and kidlets are ok in Colo.. , but my nephews son in Colorado has it and is on a ventilator,, he is 25 so it's not just older folks... would appreciate prayers if so inclined or good thoughts... for all of us.

Prayers for your nephew, Sherri.
Tangela has a sore throat. Hoping it is just her seasonal allergies though.

Good morning. I am drinking coffee also. No milk in mine because I prefer it plain. I'm glad in these times. One less thing to stress over.
I hope everyone has a lovely spring day.

I cannot ORDER delivery for food either....sO can for my medication, so that is nice, but we are getting low on fresh veggies, and if 1 Apple counts, on fruit.

I can order curb side pick up at Walmart..now, just to figure it all out...

I was flat broke and totally out of food on my birthday a week ago. Rachel had ordered several hundred dollars of stuff for delivery from Kroger. It was supposed to be here by 6pm. Well, they kept texting her saying they were running late, she finally gave up on us eating supper, so she wired money to Walmart for supper. About 9:45 they texted her again and said they were cancelling the order because they were out of food. The next day she packed a cooler in her car and went to several different grocery stores where she lives, and met Brennan in a fast food parking lot half way between our owns and he came home with a major amount of food. We have meals here now for a long time. Junie, Rachel said that Walmart curb pick up is fantastic...if they have what you need.

Thanks, Cindy.
1) you have a fantastic Daughter and Grandson. 2) tell her I said thanks for the information.

My neighbor said that she liked Wal-Mart curb pick up too, and that they were very efficient.
Thing was they just take credit cards ( as far as she knows) and it was difficult for her to figure out. But I think I am going to try.

I am so happy to hear from you, and so happy that you have a bunch of food.
Take care !

Thanks for checking in Cindy...and thanks to your family for helping you.

Maybe being in such a little community has it perks for this pandemic....we know each store owner personally as well as the workers there. It has been easy to call and sort out what is needed.

Good morning.

I think you are right, Sunny. Back home the grocery store there that is doing curb side pick up, is the one family run grocery in the area. And he wants to help out his customers, and so he has added this service. It helps his workers and his bottom line, but it also help his customers. It saves them from being forced to drive the 20 minutes or 30 if you are heading in the other direction to get curb side pick up at a Wal- .Mart.

Yay for you ! For right now I have several loaves of bread AND 5 loaves of frozen bread dough in the freezer. After that, I have yeast, flour, oil and sugar..We will be making bread if need be. Carbs are not my problem...and while I have frozen veggies for now, I will soon be out of anything fresh.

Did Val offer to shop for you, Carol? I'd take her up on it if so. I don't know what your state looks like but we're supposed to peak on April 24th about. Not a number I want to be part of.

As I recall hearing when I was cooking, but may not be correct, we have around 900 cases identified, and 12 deaths here in Missouri.

She will if I ask her too, Tina. I may just figure out how to do the curb side pick up at Wal-Mart as I said earlier...her littles have breathing issues when they get colds and such, so I do not want her exposed anymore than necessary either.

I would be very surprised if we hit our peak anytime soon. Too many people are not taking this seriously. If California does, that would be great for you and yours.

I started watching this grow right after Christmas when China eased up their coverage of it. I started staying home by Feb. for the most part. Really January. When did I start warning you of the possibilities? I wanted all my friends to be safe.

I looked back, Tina...I think possibly the first you mentioned it was Feb 27 th. If that was not the first mention, it was real close. And I do appreciate the warning. I was able to begin to stock up AND mentally prepare. Not to mention arrange to get my second shingles vaccination.
You also helped my Valarie prepare as well. While they always have a full freezer and pantry most of the time, she needed things like pull ups and hand sanitizer for her children, so I thank you SO very much.

Also, I am sure I can say thank you for all of us here.

Oh, I was not patting myself on the back. Just trying to get my memory together. That was later than I thought. I'm just glad you had the opportunity to get most things before they got scarce.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

Goodnight, sweet dreams Tina!

Oh I didn't think you were patting yourself on the back.
And I AM genuinely grateful that you brought it up
I would not have half of what I have on hand here otherwise. As I remember the first post that I took notice of your warnings was when you took Tangela grocery shopping...it could have well been before 2/27.

Sleep well!

No, I took her shopping on the last day of Feb. I think. I dragged her around the store making her get more TP and chicken. She was agog at my spending $200+ on her household (just her and her dad) But I told her I am a mother and you never get over the fear of your baby chicks going hungry. She was also happy after things became hard to get after a week or so. I was adding to my stockpile weeks before that.
I am going to bed now. Sweet dreams all.

I am glad you got your bread Tina...it is scarce here as well. Yeast is just as scarce as the bread itself. I am glad that I always keep bottles of it ahead.

DD has 'friends' calling her asking her if she wants to sell some of her stock pile. I told her that no one knows how long this will last...her supplies are needed for GB's well being, not the 'friends' that blew their last paychecks on booze and cigarettes before they closed the border. touched

We have another 6 cases in our areas...with no idea of who they are. That is 7 so far within 'the drive to town'.

Good morning !

Yes, you are right about never getting over wanting to take care of your " baby chicks" Tina. I have been sending my girls things as I see they need them. So far Val has just been getting things like pearled crayons, and other things to keep the kids busy with. Emi!y on than other hand has been getting necessities. But it makes me smile to do it.

I spent around $400.00 total on the first few times I went grocery shopping. Then when Rod and I were told to stay home, Val and Brian spent that much on us again to prevent us from going out one last time. It will be like Christmas for them when we pay them back when this is all over. You see, Brian went to Sam's and we have things like 24 single serve Apple juice, 10 pounds of sugar, and 3 gallons of oil. So while I will not run out for a long time the cost added up quickly.

But hey..I got powdered eggs as well. Now while noone will be eating eggs for a meal, I can bake as I want ! So that is good.

Good morning. You are well stocked, Carol. Much like I keep all the time here. But Jonni goes through my sugar without replacing it. She goes through a lot.
Today is an Idon'tknow day. I'll see what happens. Maybe haircuts?

Thank you, Tina. It is a good feeling. Towards the " end' of this quarentine we may be eating strange but we will be eating. And that is the point....

If I were living alone, I would be adding a pantry cabinet to the basement. But my 8 ft table in the storeroom will have to do.

I decided on mac 'n cheese for dinner. I have to do a real cooking day but cannot get up the steam for it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Mac N cheese sounds like a yummy dinner. Sounds like I a good dinner to me. If left to my own devices, I would make a 1 pot meal and eat that until it was gone and then make some other 1 pot meal and repeat.

I esp. Love soup

It is one pot meals I'm talking about. Veggies, pasta, meat and beans all together with a sauce to flavor it. Three or four days and it's time to put a new one in the mix. I like soup but need a little more if I have just soup. A salad with a hunk of cornbread or garlic toast. Add a little weight to the soup to make it a meal.
But sometimes, nothing sounds good. So I make Teddy's favorite of mac 'n cheese with peas and carrots. And he and I eat it together.
Sweet dreams all.
