Wow long time since I was in here this early … and no one here …… we are still doing ok here in the bottom of Az.. gov still hasn't put us on quarantine but we did ourselves as much as possible... I went out for first time yesterday cause I had to have a blood test.. was interesting … went on website , made appt. , told them when we were there in car... they messaged me when I tech was free.. walked in , she took my blood and paperwork.. with gloves on and sent me on my way... today it was back already and doc changed my scrip.. so hubby went to pick new one up at Walgreens... keeping whats left of old scrip incase this gets worse and we can't get new meds.. my doc sent out and email too and said she would do home visits if you are ill and don't want to go to office... one advantage of being in a small town...
Well guess I better go get something accomplished.. so far all my kids and kidlets are ok in Colo.. , but my nephews son in Colorado has it and is on a ventilator,, he is 25 so it's not just older folks... would appreciate prayers if so inclined or good thoughts... for all of us.

Prayers for your nephew, Sherri.
Tangela has a sore throat. Hoping it is just her seasonal allergies though.

Good morning. I am drinking coffee also. No milk in mine because I prefer it plain. I'm glad in these times. One less thing to stress over.
I hope everyone has a lovely spring day.

I cannot ORDER delivery for food either....sO can for my medication, so that is nice, but we are getting low on fresh veggies, and if 1 Apple counts, on fruit.

I can order curb side pick up at Walmart..now, just to figure it all out...

I was flat broke and totally out of food on my birthday a week ago. Rachel had ordered several hundred dollars of stuff for delivery from Kroger. It was supposed to be here by 6pm. Well, they kept texting her saying they were running late, she finally gave up on us eating supper, so she wired money to Walmart for supper. About 9:45 they texted her again and said they were cancelling the order because they were out of food. The next day she packed a cooler in her car and went to several different grocery stores where she lives, and met Brennan in a fast food parking lot half way between our owns and he came home with a major amount of food. We have meals here now for a long time. Junie, Rachel said that Walmart curb pick up is fantastic...if they have what you need.

Thanks, Cindy.
1) you have a fantastic Daughter and Grandson. 2) tell her I said thanks for the information.

My neighbor said that she liked Wal-Mart curb pick up too, and that they were very efficient.
Thing was they just take credit cards ( as far as she knows) and it was difficult for her to figure out. But I think I am going to try.

I am so happy to hear from you, and so happy that you have a bunch of food.
Take care !

Thanks for checking in Cindy...and thanks to your family for helping you.

Maybe being in such a little community has it perks for this pandemic....we know each store owner personally as well as the workers there. It has been easy to call and sort out what is needed.

Good morning.

I think you are right, Sunny. Back home the grocery store there that is doing curb side pick up, is the one family run grocery in the area. And he wants to help out his customers, and so he has added this service. It helps his workers and his bottom line, but it also help his customers. It saves them from being forced to drive the 20 minutes or 30 if you are heading in the other direction to get curb side pick up at a Wal- .Mart.

Yay for you ! For right now I have several loaves of bread AND 5 loaves of frozen bread dough in the freezer. After that, I have yeast, flour, oil and sugar..We will be making bread if need be. Carbs are not my problem...and while I have frozen veggies for now, I will soon be out of anything fresh.

Did Val offer to shop for you, Carol? I'd take her up on it if so. I don't know what your state looks like but we're supposed to peak on April 24th about. Not a number I want to be part of.

As I recall hearing when I was cooking, but may not be correct, we have around 900 cases identified, and 12 deaths here in Missouri.

She will if I ask her too, Tina. I may just figure out how to do the curb side pick up at Wal-Mart as I said earlier...her littles have breathing issues when they get colds and such, so I do not want her exposed anymore than necessary either.

I would be very surprised if we hit our peak anytime soon. Too many people are not taking this seriously. If California does, that would be great for you and yours.

I started watching this grow right after Christmas when China eased up their coverage of it. I started staying home by Feb. for the most part. Really January. When did I start warning you of the possibilities? I wanted all my friends to be safe.

I looked back, Tina...I think possibly the first you mentioned it was Feb 27 th. If that was not the first mention, it was real close. And I do appreciate the warning. I was able to begin to stock up AND mentally prepare. Not to mention arrange to get my second shingles vaccination.
You also helped my Valarie prepare as well. While they always have a full freezer and pantry most of the time, she needed things like pull ups and hand sanitizer for her children, so I thank you SO very much.

Also, I am sure I can say thank you for all of us here.

Oh, I was not patting myself on the back. Just trying to get my memory together. That was later than I thought. I'm just glad you had the opportunity to get most things before they got scarce.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

Goodnight, sweet dreams Tina!

Oh I didn't think you were patting yourself on the back.
And I AM genuinely grateful that you brought it up
I would not have half of what I have on hand here otherwise. As I remember the first post that I took notice of your warnings was when you took Tangela grocery shopping...it could have well been before 2/27.

Sleep well!

No, I took her shopping on the last day of Feb. I think. I dragged her around the store making her get more TP and chicken. She was agog at my spending $200+ on her household (just her and her dad) But I told her I am a mother and you never get over the fear of your baby chicks going hungry. She was also happy after things became hard to get after a week or so. I was adding to my stockpile weeks before that.
I am going to bed now. Sweet dreams all.

I am glad you got your bread Tina...it is scarce here as well. Yeast is just as scarce as the bread itself. I am glad that I always keep bottles of it ahead.

DD has 'friends' calling her asking her if she wants to sell some of her stock pile. I told her that no one knows how long this will last...her supplies are needed for GB's well being, not the 'friends' that blew their last paychecks on booze and cigarettes before they closed the border. touched

We have another 6 cases in our areas...with no idea of who they are. That is 7 so far within 'the drive to town'.

Good morning !

Yes, you are right about never getting over wanting to take care of your " baby chicks" Tina. I have been sending my girls things as I see they need them. So far Val has just been getting things like pearled crayons, and other things to keep the kids busy with. Emi!y on than other hand has been getting necessities. But it makes me smile to do it.

I spent around $400.00 total on the first few times I went grocery shopping. Then when Rod and I were told to stay home, Val and Brian spent that much on us again to prevent us from going out one last time. It will be like Christmas for them when we pay them back when this is all over. You see, Brian went to Sam's and we have things like 24 single serve Apple juice, 10 pounds of sugar, and 3 gallons of oil. So while I will not run out for a long time the cost added up quickly.

But hey..I got powdered eggs as well. Now while noone will be eating eggs for a meal, I can bake as I want ! So that is good.

Good morning. You are well stocked, Carol. Much like I keep all the time here. But Jonni goes through my sugar without replacing it. She goes through a lot.
Today is an Idon'tknow day. I'll see what happens. Maybe haircuts?

Thank you, Tina. It is a good feeling. Towards the " end' of this quarentine we may be eating strange but we will be eating. And that is the point....

If I were living alone, I would be adding a pantry cabinet to the basement. But my 8 ft table in the storeroom will have to do.

I decided on mac 'n cheese for dinner. I have to do a real cooking day but cannot get up the steam for it yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Mac N cheese sounds like a yummy dinner. Sounds like I a good dinner to me. If left to my own devices, I would make a 1 pot meal and eat that until it was gone and then make some other 1 pot meal and repeat.

I esp. Love soup

It is one pot meals I'm talking about. Veggies, pasta, meat and beans all together with a sauce to flavor it. Three or four days and it's time to put a new one in the mix. I like soup but need a little more if I have just soup. A salad with a hunk of cornbread or garlic toast. Add a little weight to the soup to make it a meal.
But sometimes, nothing sounds good. So I make Teddy's favorite of mac 'n cheese with peas and carrots. And he and I eat it together.
Sweet dreams all.

Sounds good, Tina. About my soups. They are full of veggies and barley. ( no potatoes) then I make some type of noodles to add to each bowl. I also have crackers or some crusty bread on the side.

I am still watching my soap.

I love soups as well. I made a chicken, vegetable one yesterday....it is GG's favorite.

Well, we found out that the nurse practitioner that is at our local little clinic has Covid-19, confirmed after spending two days at the clinic trying to hurry everyone in before they closed it. (all community clinics were closed in our province). So now begins the waiting game for all the elderly that had contact hoping to stay safe. It will be a disaster.

That being said, my grocery order was delivered...and I sanitized every item on the step before bringing it in. We have fruits, veggies and fresh milk for another two weeks.

Good morning.

Glad that you have fresh fruit and veggies, Sunny. That really does help. Glad that you sanitized everything.

Sorry to hear about the NP. This is so scary.

We had Another half inch of rain last night. I think we are getting our allotment of rain and somebody else's as well.

Good morning.
I will cook today. I just don't want mac 'n cheese again. And I'm running out of peas and carrots too. One package of frozen left and no frozen or canned in the stores when my daughter goes in.

Oh my, I am so sorry, Tina...can you get fresh carrots ? Perhaps if you could you could cut up some of them to look correct, cook and use them in the place of the frozen ?

Had to unpack a re-pak my box. In my haste, I left an item out...oh well, hopefully that will reach me to take my time in the future.

Oh, I am so sorry..yes it is..it is for my 4 grandchildren that live in Virginia...and a little something for their parents as well....I do plan on going to Amazon tonight and ordering a book for each of them as well. Before this began I decided to order the books and have them delivered to save the cost of shipping. It is now a better idea than ever.

Yes, a good idea. Also somethings may not be readily available. And even Amazon Prime is not able to get their stuff out in 1-2 days right now.

Checking in from AZ.... was on computer showing hubby how I do the budget and pay bills , he has never done it and decided if I got sick he needs to know basics at least...sure glad we direct deposit and use auto bill pay for most everything.. sil still goes in and pays a lot of bills.. tried to get her to set up most for auto payments but she only did part of them... did have to explain again how I won't go out there to visit anymore and neither is hubby... they let anyone in to visit and I am not willing to get sick that way... worry enough about my kids... and grands , not willing to chance it … her hubby still thinks it's just a big deal blown out of proportion... guess he won't believe it till he gets it... older than me both of them, and she is diabetic... she should be hold up at home but he won't even come into town to get her insulin... hubby told her he would pick it up for her and put in her mailbox for her but he wouldn't go on their property … she has to write a letter for pharmacist giving permission and he idiot of a husband says it's to much trouble... I called her to tell her to do it anyway... so hope she listens … he even wanted her to go get beer for him and his hangers on when she picked up her insulin... that's really a necessity! at least she didn't do that...

Well I better get busy and get my laundry started... funny how that never ends... stay safe and well... prayers for all of us!
Nana

You got the right idea, Sherri. I'm glad you are taking care of yourself as much as possible. I wish you could feel better about your sister's options. Heck, I wish I could and don't even know her. I feel for all the dead and dying and the families left behind.
I ended up not going out. My older daughter went out for me. I am blessed too.

Spoke to my DD today..she took down a list of what I was out of that I have to have...I said. Milk and eggs..then if they had it lettuce and tomatoes.

BUT I have powdered eggs for baking so that will be ok.

Glad your DD went out for you, Tina...I guess we raised our kids right since they are ready to help us, huh ?

Nana I am so sad for your relatives. I wish people would just believe what they are hearing and act accordingly.
About the bill thing. I have hubby handle his own medical stuff, and I handle mine, for just the reason you did. He can figure out the bills of need be. Glad your Hubby is wanting to learn.

A lot of people are still not taking this seriously...they are the ones that are at risk of spreading it. They have started giving out fines in the neighboring province, hefty ones at that.

They announced today that for people to cancel all plans until at least July 1st. There will be a lot of sad brides-to-be with that order.

Keep safe everyone kissie

I think the fear of a hefty fine might prompt some to heed the stay at home order. Whatever works I guess. But who decides if one had to go out or not ? July 1 st huh..we shall see what happens here...I have a cardiologists check up scheduled for July 1st. It was due in March but I moved it up in hopes that it would be ok to travel by then...We shall see.

Good morning! Thank goodness for coffee.

My SIL is going shopping one more time this afternoon for his family and for us. We will have to make do until sometime in may then.

I have pre-made sliced bread in my freezer, and I have 5 loaves of frozen bread dough in the freezer as well. Finally I have sugar, oil, yeast and flour...so bread is not an issue. I even have powdered eggs for baking. The problem will be milk...I have a small amount of shelf stable milk, and some powdered milk....If we have to, We will ask Brian to please go get us more milk.... Luckily, the owners of the local meat market live behind us. She has told us several times that she would be happy to bring us meat..., I may just take them up on that offer yet.

You are very well stocked for two of you.
i see Mo. still has no statewide orders. I'm glad you are abiding by a stay at home routine, Carol. Stay at home has flattened the curve in Calif. Now we're going to masks in public. I'm glad they are getting it.

Thank you, Tina, I hope we are well stocked.....that it will last until we can go out in awhile and restock what we have used up. I have a notion that once this virus stops being an issue, it will pop back up once the weather cools off again. I guess I will worry until we get a vaccine in place.

The good news is I am less frightened that I was a week ago.

I am glad that California is doing better. That too gives me hope..

I trust that you are well stocked ?

Well, we have over 9900+ cases and not enough testing/results. With 60 known recovered and 215 deaths.
But compared to NY numbers, we're doing well. I am feeling calmer also.

Can you buy whole milk in bags there Junie? We can here and they freeze quite well.

It's another cold, flurrying day here....time is even longer when one can't go outside.

Here the boxes of milk can be stored on the shelf until you open them. I knew milk can be frozen, but I was afraid to freeze the plastic bottles. we have no l bags of milkhere, but I am guessing the plastic 1/2 gallon containers would freeze, huh Tina ? what do you think. I made my oldest a birthday cake this morning..spice cake with Peanut butter icing...It is ready for when her DH comes by with our Groceries. After lunch I will go downstairs..there is a file that needs cleaned out. And then this year's papers put back in.

Just got my groceries ..so I wiped some things off with a disinfectant wipe, some washed in Dawn, hot water and vinegar. Scrubbed as well. I now have milk, extra bread, eggs, Apple's and in some frozen but fresh garden corn from Brian's mother. If my grand's knew that..they might walk over here and get it back...every time they take a bite of corn no matter where they are, they say " is this pop-pops corn ?

and my 4 tomato plants. 2 cherry and 2 regular. ...yay !!!

Junie, we can't go into our banks at all. Everything has to be done at the drive through window. I did online grocery shopping for the first time and now I wonder why I haven't been doing it anyway. Shelley's been doing it for a few years and kept telling me how great it is but I just never did it.

Do you know the CDC says we are supposed to be masked when going about our business in the world now? I see that Missouri now has a stay at home order as of the coming Monday. I'm glad but it's mighty late for that. But better than tomorrow.
Sweet dreams all.

Thing is the way I understand it, the masks protect others from you ( if you have the virus--remember you can be contagious 14 days before you show symptoms) but not you from others, so I guess if others are not wearing a make and are contageous, that can go thru your mask ??..kinda backwards in my mind...

until today we could call and make an appointment to go into our bank..I am assuming if one "needed" to do business inside of their bank they would only allow that one person in for a set amount of time. As we had no need for it I am not sure how it woked.

Yes the state-ordered stay at home mandate will begin on Monday...BUT our county wide mandate begins at midnight tonight.

Thing about the masks is I just read a thing online and it looked to me as If the cotton masks when used by themselves will do no good. I am hoping I misunderstood what I read.

About the online shopping, my neighbor did it for the first time yesterday...she said it was complicated to get set up ( Wal-Mart) but once she did figure it out it was great...but you need to use your credit card...but oh well.

. The grocery store that I used all the time back in Illinois, is now doing order ahead groceries...and all you have to do is call them, and give them your order..no need to navigate the internet...wish that had of been the case back when I lived there.....or better yet that the grocery I use now would be offering that...

There are no masks to be found anywhere...and they say the homemade ones can harm more than do good. why

I never bought the theory on the masks doing no good. Why would doctors and nurses, etc use them so religiously? Even dentists? If nothing else, they will help remind you to not touch your face.
But in general, I love my country and the world in general. If I can do one thing that is uncomfortable like quarantining myself or masking myself, that might help one other person live, then I'm all for it.
Good morning.

The Drs and nurses use the good masks..cannot remember their name now, those work and work well.
.other masks work in varying degrees, but as I said..with the cotton working the least, so basically not at all..The part about the cotton masks is what I am not 100% sure about.

Good morning. .... Going to finally go down and work on my file today.

N95 masks keep out pretty much everything. Surgical masks are the lighter ones that only block like 80% of the airborne stuff entering or leaving you. But 80% is better than 0.
When I wear a mask, I will be telling people that I care about them. The surgeon General of the United States had a little video yesterday, during his announcement, of how to make a simple mask from a T-shirt that would work. It would smother me with my respiratory issues but it would work.

I put a teddy bear (actually several) in windows around my house and took pics of them. I sent them to a friend of mine in New Zealand where the kids are trying to capture sight of as many sightings of them as they can from their quarantines, car trips to the doctors, walks for exercise as they can. California bears for her grandkids. Teddy has cleaned up his bears back to thier 'homes'.

Yes, I saw that motto somewhere else as well. I too think it is an awesome motto.

Glad that your snow is melting, Sunny, even if it is melting slowly.

Got my Easter ready today and I also ignored the price and I ordered a nut roll from Strawberry Hill for an Easter treat.

I dropped off GB's Easter gifts yesterday...we did an exchange from the back of my truck. It was so sad to talk to him through my truck window and his house window. He is doing o.k. though because DD adopted a kitten last week. It is a Rag Doll kitten that wasn't wanted because it has a mild case of Swimmer's syndrome. DD has him hobbled up to mend his legs. He is thriving and getting stronger everyday.

I went early to do the drop off because we might soon be under a 'no travel' ban if this keeps up.

I'll take a piece of that nut roll Junie.

That was nice of your DD Sunny. I am sure it helps your GB a lot. I wish I had of taken think my Easter to My Grands here already As it is, if we cannot arrange for it's delivery, at least I sent some learned crayons to them. Their mom kept them back, so now if I can't get their Easter to them by next Sunday,

t. I thank the Lord my grands have lots of siblings...while it is driving their parent's crazy, my grands are doing well. At first they could not understand why they were staying home...now even Henry understands there will be no Birthday party, but that he had presents from his parents tonopen. I am hoping I can send his gifts from us with the Easter.

Ok Sunny, I will save you some of the nut roll when it comes

Oh my !

Sunny, I have not had an earache for years. You have my sympathy. Here is something to try. Put a cotton ball in your ear. Both when out in the wind to help you prevent an earache, and if/when you have an earache.

Tina, I love the rain as well. It keeps the outside overcast and it is very restful to sleep in.

Thanks Junie, I should have put cotton in my ears but I am in and out so much that I forget. I have drops here for earaches so I'll be o.k.

We just got notice from our government to wear masks when going out....even if they are homemade.

Good Morning !

They are saying that about masks here as well. Apparently it will not protect you, but it will protect others from your germs in case you have the virus and are not yet showing symptoms.

Wrapping GB's Birthday gifts today..that and doing some laundry.

Masks are good, Sunny. I look at the Asian populations all over the world and they use them on a daily basis. They managed to flatten the curves ih their various countries. We can too.
All of our medical heroes wear them.

I have an earache once in a while and it's horrible. I always feel sorry for babies when they have an ear infection because I know the pain.

The pollen here is out of control.

Aubry is getting pretty sick stay at home stuff of this but Colt is loving it.

Anyone want to trade weather? They are calling for a major snowstorm Thursday with heavy winds and damaging tide surges....I am thinking this new moon might be playing a part in it. Mind you, we get a storm like this every April....just when things are slowly starting to melt.

I have a small grocery delivery arriving today. They have small turkeys on sale for $3.50 a pound, I hope I am lucky enough to get one. I requested one under $25 so I'll be shocked if I get it. The stores will be closed from Friday to Monday. I also asked for fruit...of any kind. It's strange to shop this way.

Good morning. Washing clothes already.

Wel!, At least you can shop from the safety of your home, Sunny. I would be happy to call in an order and have it delivered. Would not matter to me what brsnd/type they brought.

Drinking my coffee now.

Yup, that's what one has to do now....sometimes it costs more because I rarely buy name brand but at least I am home safe.

Good morning. I haven't checked into delivery yet. I may. Tangela is shopping for me today.
We must wear masks in public. And gloves are a good idea. I don;t go in public. But I have both in case the need arises.

Hi all,

We aren't quarantined yet, not very many reported cases in our little town so far but we do expect that to change... we shopped early and a lot so food and stuff wise we are good..
Got the last of our scrips refilled so that is good for next 3 months too... had to submit proof to our insurance company that hubby and I are in fact married .. from last 6 months... so just sent that off.. always fun... sure hope that isn't a regular thing with them... but I gather insuring non eligible people is a thing that is done...

Hubby has been working around house.. he is supposed to be painting shed today but so far isn't doing that... easy to put stuff off if you know you have a long time to get it done...

Well off to get something out for dinner... thinking chicken …. have a good day all an stay well my friends..

Hello, Nana. Oh my. I too hope that is not a thing..I happened to notice that I have my marriage license home..so that is good...but I am assuming that I need better proof ?
What did you send in ?

I buy some brand name downstairs brand..depends on price and what I prefer. Today though I just found out that I prefer the Wal-Mart brand of make your own dressing mix.
Looks like so will never buy Good Seasons again.S

Was outside for say an hour. Wasn't working all that hard but I came in all sweaty This is April..I cannot imagine how the summer will be.
