Morning ,
I am off to Tucson in a few to go to Costco... we go about every three months to buy the big stuff... taking sil so that will be fun... she loves to go and loves to talk the whole way there and back.. drives hubby nuts but I mostly just listen.... LOL!
We have fairly nice weather compared to all of you guys.. in the 50's and sun is out, but it is windy... our Milo hates the wind , I think it hurts his ears .. he goes out and comes right back in when it's like this.. unless he remembers the rabbit under the shed then he will go see if he can find it...
Well got to dry my hair and makes sure I have everything on my list.. going to be a long day …

I like snow, Tina, but it can stay away until it learns to stay off of the roads and sidewalks.

Enjoy your snow free sidewalks, Carol. I have to drive about a half mile down my road to see a sidewalk. And that's only in front of the park up the road. Then it's about seven miles before the next one. Oh, there are a few businesses that put in sidewalks in front of their establishments along the way. But they fade away to dirt verges at their property lines. I love living rural.

I'll share snow with anyone that wants some. We are getting a major storm today....they are calling for 16 inches at least, with heavy winds. The only good thing about that is that I'll be storm stuck in my warm little house and not have to go anywhere for a few days(it has been a long week running with errands, appts and favors for others)

There really are not any sidewalks around here either except for in front of the local church and post office ( they are on the same street.) And then I have one from my driveway to my front porch. But it was just an statement reslly.
That is a lot of snow, Sunny. Glad that you have a warm house to stay in.

I jinxed myself last week by saying it was a milder, nicer Winter. We just got close to 2 ft of snow in one storm, my roofs seem to collect it all in a Nor'Easter, it swirls into 5 ft drifts on them. I'll be soaking in a bath of epsom salts by the end of the night.  Off to do the barn work, these are the days when I wonder why we bother to farm?

That is a lot of snow, but I like to say to myself, it could be worse. I think you farm for the joy of it...and when we are not talking ice or snow, you do enjoy it. And then there is the fact that Carey was farming...

Another clean up day here. The house is shoveled and the windows as well, I have one shed left to do....thankfully DH is home today so he can tractor the excess snow for me. GB called again, apparently I really, really, really need to go pick him up later today Hoping you all have a nice day.

It was windy here yesterday, Tina. I guess it is your turn.
I hate when kids share..esp if they share with their adults.
I was going grocery shopping today, but I think that got put off to tomorrow now. Today it will be laundry, the cleaning of bathrooms, changing out of some ceramics, and then mailing off my Valentine boxes....I wonder what we should have for supper tonight ?

I cleaned and mopped, shoveled snow then just threw a meat pie in the oven for supper. After a long day of working, I think I deserve to make an easy supper GG came home from school feeling nauseated again.....I'll call the school tomorrow to see if something is going around.

Oh my...I hate winter for many reasins, but anymore the main reason is what the kids bring home from school. My Grandson was home from school 2 days last week so the school could be scrubbed down. There were so many kids out sick they felt they needed to do that. They also asked parents to clean backpacks, shoes, coates, lunch boxes and anything a child was taking to school. I think they suggested Clorox wipes for the items that could not be put in the washing machine.

One of the problems that happened in our schools when I was a school nurse is that Clorox was banned from being used in the schools for any reason. I think Clorox kills germs better than most other stuff. I'm glad you can send Clorox wipes. Did I tell you guys that I've been to two cooking classes at our Ag Center? It's aimed at encouraging us to prepare food differently than we're used to doing - like bake instead of fry. Yesterday we cooked frog legs and scallops. My friend and I were the only 2 who sautéed our food. Everyone else stuck to the heavy breading and deep frying so I'm not sure why these people are coming except we get to eat free fish. I don't fry a lot of food anyway so I'm going to try the different types of fish. This week was nothing new for me but still fun even if it was nerve racking because a women showed up with her 2 children under 4 and one cried the entire time. I figure she must get some type of credits from WIC or Crisis Pregnancy for attending this class.

Sheri, what was the reason for not using Clorox at the schools ? I am curious to know. I was saying what the news said for parents to do at home, when the schools had been professionally cleaned after a major sickness.

That was a record wind for that mountain. It was taken from an unmanned weather station that sends its results via computer or something. That is a record. I've never seen it blow much more than 100 mph. Don't walk under trees then.

Here they use Lysol for disinfecting at school......I've used it here often as well. I don't fry much when cooking either except maybe fries twice a month. Nothing beats fresh fried cut potatoes as a treat. I have never eaten or want to eat frog legs though...fried or sauteed DH got called out through the night for a work emergency, I have no idea what is going on yet but it can't be good because it never snowed at all through the night.

I have Lysol and bleach here at home. I use them both. And ammonia.

Tina, There are some days that I think getting things done is over-,rated. Some days are for just doing nothing..well, no housework anyway.
I was washing dishes, but 2 of my GG's thought they should help, so the dishes are soaking..when is is naptime, I will change the water and finish the dishes.

I hope the emergency was not severe, Sunny. It was, someone set fire to their work garage. They lost two plow trucks, a work truck and a back hoe. As well as all their supplies, the boss's work office, all the tools and such.....it is a disaster especially at this time of year. The police deemed it as suspicious but that's as far as it will go...it burned to the ground so how does one investigate for any evidence.

Oh gracious, Sunny. First, there are ways for investigators to find clurs. But that is beside the poibt. How wil! They do their jobs now ? Is there a way to get other vehicles and supplies ? Can they borrow from some other facility ? That is aweful..why would someone do such a thing ?

They are working on what will happen at the moment...it is Government owned so it'll take a few weeks to get things rolling. They'll borrow from another garage until then.

Ok so the morning was full. We made cupcakes, iced and decorated thrm, and made Valentines for their Mom and Dad.

I would like a cupcake please.
Clorox isn't considered green so the schools went to stuff that didn't do anything that I could tell. Whatever they used didn't even get the floors clean. I wasn't supposed to use Lysol in the health room but I did it when no one was looking. We weren't supposed to have Vaseline for chapped lips either.

Bitterly cold Tina...it is minus -32 this morning, so close to school being cancelled but not close enough GG made mini brownie cupcakes last night...she also made me buy a store bought Valentine's cake for Grampy(really for her)   Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Yes, after she tried a few to make sure they tasted good GB went to preschool this morning and told them he couldn't stay all day because Grammie was having a big Valentine's party for him. He associates cakes with parties and GG told him she picked up a cake as a treat for today.

I want chocolate strawberries...yum. The party is over kids are too funny, he asked where the balloons were....apparently his preschool had them. It is freezing cold today, minus -34....frost bite is in the air so my butt is staying in the house.

We went to see my mother today. She has a terrible cough, doesn't feel well, doesn't want to go to the dining room, and my step dad is leaving her without food. He said he'd been to the grocery store but there was very little food in their apartment and nothing she'd want to eat, so I'm not sure if he thinks he went or if he lied. He has a friend that's taking him out to eat a lot of the time but he's not bringing my mother anything back. This is a nightmare.

I changed over from Valentine's Day decorations to St. Patrick's Day ones. Next Wednesday the girls will change over their window clings on the sun porch.
I am now washing clothes. I swear that dirty clothes multiply in the hamper.

My mother has what is diagnosed as mild dementia. She hasn't driven in a year. In July they were moved from their home into a retirement village by my sister who, at that time, had my step dads health care power of attorney. My step dad chose this place because it's on the water and he thought he was going to take his boat. My sister went along with his wishes. I protested from the beginning because our step dad isn't able to drive a boat or a car. He's had 2 strokes. They are 1-1/2 hours from me if traffic is good. The place where they live will only allow meals to be delivered once a day because, as they keep telling us, they are a retirement village and the price of eating in their dining room is in the cost of their monthly rent. (the dining room is beautiful and the food is state of the art). None of the apartments has a kitchen. This place is for 55 and over but I wouldn't want to live there without a kitchen and be forced to go to the dining room if I didn't want to get up and get dressed every day. Anyway, this is where my step dad chose and this is where they are. We are having dinner brought to their room but if my mother is alone she doesn't always answer the door. We were having someone come and give their medicine every day but my step dad has said he doesn't need this anymore so now they are just giving it to my mother. Taking his medicine incorrectly is part of what got him into this mess so this is the 3rd time, after his medicines have been managed for a while and he feels a little better, that he fires everyone - so he's fired my sister as his health care power of attorney. I've talked to my mother above moving to a place that is 5 minutes from me but she doesn't want to come without Mike and he says he isn't coming. And that's where we are at this point.
I'm convinced that dirty clothes multiply in the hamper too.

Oh Sheri, what a mess. I do hope that one of you can get POA for your mother...and force a move if necessary. It is a provincial holiday here(Family Day)....mind you it is storming so DH is forced to work. Tina, cleaning the interior of a car is a never ending process it seems. After I get a chance to clean ours, I hate to let the kids back in it

True about the car, Sunny. I sometimes let it go just on general principals. It seems it gets dirty almost immediately after you clean it.
Have a happy Family Day...even if DH has to work....
My DH,'s cousin would make his family remove their shoes before getting into his car. The shoes were put in a box and into the trunk. He carried that fetish to inside the hiuse. His wife finally left him. Now he keeps his own house just the way he wants.

Good morning. My car is not vacuumed or anything. Just having Jonni driving it most leaves it full of empty cans and trash and change in the cupholders, etc. And it goes into the shop today.

It seems that kids today don't believe in 'clean'...well, from the look of my daughters house anyway.
I felt so tired and achy today that I fell asleep. I have NEVER felt asleep like that in the day time....it is strange.

I have a technical question. What I'm about to say only happens on my iPad - not my desktop or my phone. I've tried googling it and no combination of words asks the question I need answered. Here goes.
When I google something, several links to websites come up. Just like if I put the words Garden Forums in the search bar and long list of garden forum links would come up.
Example if if put Garden Forums in the search bar - the first one that comes up is garden.org
Underneath garden.org in blue it says Gardening Discussion Forums - Garden.org and then there's more info under that.
My issue is that under each org or www or whatever when the name is given such as Gardening Disccusion Forums - part of the words are double typed. Like For Gardening Discussion Forums (which is in blue) the word Gardening is typed over in black and lower case letters with the word garden.
Does that make sense - basically some of the words are typed over. I've rebooted my iPad but it didn't help.

It's warming up a bit...mind you, there are still a few cars refusing to start this morning. DD and her friend are dropping off GB today as they are passing here to go for a girls day out of shopping and Supper. It saves me a trip so I am glad....it's too cold to go anywhere to my notion. I must be getting old

Tina, it is good that you have someone to help run errands...enjoy. GB is giving me a spelling lesson on colors....apparently I am going to have to know all of this for when I go to kindergarten

Yes, it is so wonderful to have people that can to help with errands. Sunny, what Tina said. We are none getting younger. Now, about kindergarten....how very nice of GB to help you, Sunny. He is right the more you know ahead of time the better. Val and I are taking the kids to Hobby Lobby after school. I will love the time out.

Tina, yes we fun at Hobby Lobby. I did find out one thing. Heidi had better study, get a high paying job, and then Marry very well. She loves to buy things...any and all things !

Yes, when my oldest was little I gave her a bunch of catalogs and flyers and such to look over with Christmas in mind. I was taking notes about what interested her then she got all interested in some feminine hygiene products and I threw out my list. It was all "I want, I want, I want...".

I was thinking that they were born in April.....have a fun time. What is the theme this year?

You are thinking of their Brother. His B-day is in April.
? The Girls were born the last of February. Their Due date was May 25th. The team this year is unicorns ( ooo ni corns) again. They just love unicorns. I had to buy unicorn bags that they saw last night...they are not really large enough to put their gifts in, but I will find something to fill them with.
It is to be sunny but cold here today, and was to be rainy tomorrow. But "they" have changed their minds now, and it will not rain until the late day or evening. Hopefully Val can get her B-day plans in w/o having to deal with rain.

Just think about college X 3 ! Yep!!! And weddings..... Also: I am constantly seeing clothes and such that Val could use for her girls...but then you look at buying 3 and suddenly it is not such a viable idea. For their birthday I did not spend what I had allotted. Now, when Val gets out their spring/summer clothes, I will buy her some clothes for the girls...same will go for their brother. I will be helping her this way.
