I think there is as much room as needed. With bathing and laundry facilities and all.

Why yes I did. I have them every Wednesday and Thursday of every week. The other Grandma has them Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Then if she needs help on the weekend, we are who she asks.

The Girls " helped" me put some ornaments on the tree today. It was such fun.

Those are great moments to have Junie, we are planning to go for our tree this weekend.

My hot water tank 'died' last night...I am waiting for a repair man at the moment.

Sorry the water tank died..but glad you were able to get someone out so quickly, Sunny.

Got a Christmas gift in the mail today...You have to live the internet. But really it is no different than ordering from catalogs like we did "back in the day".

Good morning ! Happy coffee drinking !

I will try to open the next CH...but if I do not get in quick enough the number of the next one is 2584..this one is supposed to be 2583..and then one before was supposed to be 2582...it seems numbers got juxtaposed. ( did I spell that right ??)

Sunny made the kind of error I make all the time. She got the numbers in the middle mixed up. If I need a phone number I'll hear 79915 and write 79951 for instance. But she got back on track this time. It's all good.

Any volunteers to help me shovel roofs today?

If I were going to help anyone shovel roofs, it would be you, Sunny. But I can just see me falling off, so I have to decline. Sorry.

My tree looks sad.. I really need to get to decorating it. My DD had her tree up, & decorated, and her Living room as well, all in 3 hours. Glad she did not inherit the "slow" gene from me.

Good morning, and happy tea drinking....

You are ahead of me, we are only going to pick our tree tomorrow.....I am sad that they closed the 'cut your own' farm. Now we have to buy our tree pre-netted at a hardware store.

Yesterday they replaced the element in my hot water tank...thankfully we rent them from our power company so it was at no extra cost for the repair.

I got the main shed shoveled, I'm on a roll. thumbup

My tree is artificial so I can put it up whenever I get time. At home we used you put our tree up on the 17th..that is Momma's birthday. The tree would've bought a week earlier, and dad would cut a piece off of the bottom of the trunk and soak it in water until the 17 th.

I sometimes drink tea as well. Esp. when I have a cold. I would buy individually sealed flavored teas, new once a year. Rod and I would go to a local craft town that carried them.
It was such fun.

Your garland is somewhere with my box of tiny ornaments for the mini tree...and they are being joined by a single grey sock and a blue mitten lol

GB has called three times this morning...apparently lunch time was before breakfast in his mind.

Enjoy the rain Tina....I'm sure it is a welcome sight for many.

We picked up our tree....they only had three left to choose from. I miss being able to go cut our own....but I shouldn't complain since we are lucky enough to get one.

Junie your garland is with the lights I just bought to put on the wreath over the fireplace. The tiny tree ornaments are the ring leaders in getting all to go out partying with the single grey sock and a blue mitten. That single grey sock is baaaad news and the blue mitten is worse. They know where their mates are but aren't talking. We will be getting a call for bail money any time now.

Yesterday Aubry and I went to the lighting of the Christmas tree and had hot chocolate and looked in a few shops. Today we went to a church bazaar then came home and made cupcakes. Fun days. Poor old Johnny had a funeral.

Well, since my garland is in "cahoots" with your missing items, let me know what part of the bail money I owe..I want to do my share..

BTW...I bet there are mini ornaments from my small tree at the party as well..I

I bought some red beads today, but I sure miss my iridescent icicle garland.....

Yes Tina, the 'sprites' were in panic mode when the man said he wasn't sure if they had any decent trees left. There was a parade the night before and they pretty much sold out, we walked into the shed and there were two scrawny 4 ft apartment trees by the door....then he said, we have a tall one but it looks crushed on one side. I told him it doesn't matter because we put the tree against a corner wall in the living room. He sold it to us for the price of a small tree ($25). Low and behold...it wasn't crushed anyway, as soon as we cut the netting and it thawed in the stand...it fell perfectly all around. It is so nice and full. I am impressed to have gotten such a nice tree from a Hardware store parking lot.

Too funny Bestofour, I am glad that you are having fun with the grands. Sorry for the funeral attending by your husband.

Junie, my garland was in such bad shape years ago so GG and I made a paper chain one from cardstock....we still use it years later.

Great for the good tree. And to have gotten a bargain too ! That is wonderful, Sunny.

I did have some of the usual garland that I bought to put on the porch columns in Illinois, but this tree we have does not loan itself to thick garland. Sad too as it is red and green.

When the kids get older I will cut some construction paper and have all 4 make small chains, then I will put the 4 together and use that...I am sure it will make them happy. And it will remind them, and Grandma how they helped. Thanks for the idea.

Good morning !

.

When my two eldest were small, ( around 7 & 4) we had moved and left behind all of our ornaments. So we were starting naked in a world of ornaments. I saved tubes from toilet paper and solicited some from neighbors and family. I collected some pink, white and red felt and black construction paper and we made a mess of little santas to hang on our tree. No lights, just wall-to-wall santas. I still have some of those santas around.
Good morning. It's a drizzly kind of day. I might bake something today. Or nap. Or both.

I am glad you kept those ornaments Tina. That is a memory to remember forever....we had some poor Christmas's when DD was very small but I had two single Uncles that were quick to step in and provide from buying lights to gifts.

The kids fought over who was putting what ornament where for the past hour. I remember being a child and not even being allowed to touch the tree. rolz

Yes, Tina, very happy that you still had some of those ornaments. It is those memories that are the best. Enjoy whatever you decide to do.

Sunny, I was allowed to put up a very few ornaments, but not many, as they were the glass kind. Then mom would finish the tree.

It is to be warm today and tomorrow then very cold once again.....

Believe it or not, the arguing is making memories too. With four siblings, I learned a lot from arguing.
I only have a few of those santas left. School glue projects aren't made to hold up forever. I reinforced some to preserve them. And we've made many more over the years in classes and such. Teddy saves the tp rolls here, still. But I toss them now as I don't have anywhere to donate them to at this time. I do have a place that will reuse my cardboard egg cartons though.

Tina, do your schools have a STEM or STEAM class? Ginger teaches STEAM and is always asking for rolls of all sorts and Kleenex boxes of all sizes.

Sunny, way cool about your tree. There's a tree shortage in our area too. Not sure if that's just to jack up prices but it's been all over the news.

When I was growing up we had an awful aluminum tree that had a rotating color light. Just hideous.
