And I have power. It was only out 55+ hours. Off to check the news. That's alot of spoiled food for people with no refrigeration...so sad. We are getting Sheri's winds today...there were Halloween decorations all over the roads.

Well, that's the one good thing about the winds here. Stuff blows away. But some where downwind that garbage is trapped and adding to the fire danger.

Gracious! Sunny is right ! I did not even thought about the spoiled food. I am so sorry to have overlooked it. Now I for sure wish that this gets better quick.

I have lost a cople of steaks on top but the rest stayed frozen. So I am good. I had a fe days warning before it was turned off so I tucked water bottles into all the spare corners to freeze and help keep the cool. If I were really good, there would be water bottles all the time because empty space is not good for a freezer. If you needed more space for food, just transfer the water to your fridge and drink it as it defrosts or refreeze as there is room for it.

We just got our power back as well. This wind storm did lots of damage in the province...and to my Uncle's shed. The siding was ripped clean off one side. I lost the roof off my birdhouse.

The storm passed us by for the most part. We got a bit of rain and wind but nothing like they were saying. Glad about that. Sunny hate that you got our wind. Tina 55 hours seems like a long time to me. Glad it's back and hope it stays for a long time. Good points about the freezer. Met Ginger and brought Colt home with me yesterday. He's out of school Monday. He, Aubry, and I went to the movie today. Wasn't a very good one

Sunny, sorry about the storms, and I am wondering, did your bird have insurance on the house ??? Or does he expect his , "landlord" to repair the damage ?? Nope Junie, I am guessing the landlord has to put a new roof on it this week  Clocks are changed, new batteries are in the smoke alarms....and I am headed out in a few to stake the rest of my small shrubs. We had snow flurries this morning. DH is servicing the equipment to put away for Winter...we got our straw baled yesterday

Today I needed to wear a coat to church, but I could not find my P-coat that Val & Brian gave to me years back. So sad about that.

I made pork chops with a mustard glaze, potatoes for DH, rice for me and reheated chicken bouillon for GG....once again, 3 meals  Yesterday, I spent the whole day helping DH get winterized with barn equipment. I really need to go for groceries today or tomorrow....it is calling for a foot of snow Friday.

Gee washing windows..I miss my tilt-in Windows from IL. They were so easy to wash. I bet the outsides of these never get washed. Well the door outsides will be washed. But, I have my doubts about the rest of the outside windows.

I'm o.k. The storm hit a day early...so here I sit. I just got home though from GG's Remembrance Day ceremony at her school, there were only a few people there due to the weather.
I have no clue when I'll ever get to that Walmart ...it is snowing quite hard out at the moment.

Thanks, we are good. I just grabbed some milk and a few things at the local store on my way home from the school today. The first snows look pretty....I better enjoy that feeling, in a week I'll be fed up until April

Good morning !
Carol has no idea what that means. I saw that post mysrlf. The autocorrect on this tablet changes words on a regular basis. I read what I type and send but often words are changed in transit. I will have to read after I post from now on and edit my posts.( I do that sometimes now but I guess I will be doing it all the time now--that or I will start going downstairs and using my laptop more often.)
Carol will be home today with no Kids to watch.

The storm caused power outages and accidents that caused power outages....strange thing is that yesterday afternoon the sun came out and is was beautiful out. GG and I headed to town and Walmart finally and got the supplies for the month bought. I also bought some gift cards so that I can do some online shopping for Christmas.

Good idea about the gift cards for shopping. I am so glad that you got your supplies in. Now if the weather gets bad you can stay snug and warm in your house.

I had a good time. I bought a few ( 3 to be exact) small Christmas gifts, and I got my new cell phone activated.
Home now with the girls in their beds sleeping.

I haven't felt good for the last 3 days. Actually longer but this week has been difficult. I laid in bed all day yesterday and a lot of today. Hope I'm on the mend.

If this hangs on, the nurse in you should know to go see a Dr. When I let mine go and go, I finally went and I had had strep throat the entire time...didn't act like the strep throat. Just throwing that out there.....

Good morning! We are drinking special coffee today! Make a getting up worth it.
This morning is supposed to be ok around three the bad weather that is. Up north is supposed to move in. I am making beef soup today. That should warm us up.

Hi all.
I just put in a Walmart order for Christmas...I didn't know you could use gift cards on the online site until DD told me the other day. It sure makes things easier for me now.
I am helping DH finish some repairs around the barn before the major storm tomorrow...yuck.

It is Junie, I don't like using my credit card online so I bought a Walmart card and a Visa gift card and ordered from it. I have no worries of someone hacking and stealing the few cents that is left on the card when I am done....and that way, I am only spending what money I put on it in the first place.

Some say an inch due here, some say 3 or 4 inches. That will not be the issue. Ice on the roads will be the problem. I have a Drs. Appt. In the early morning that I may have to cancel...but oh well, it was just a check up.

I have been up since 4 a.m. the phone won't stop ringing. A call from DH's boss to go to work with the plow, then the school called to cancel then two co-workers of DH called. Jeepers. It's storming bad out there....I wonder if the farm animals can feed themselves later?

Well, I went to bed( for the 2nd time) at a bit before 3. We really need to get this sleeping thing on tract. Sorry for all the phone calls, Sunny.
It is warming up here and the ice is leaving the roads. I wish it had of done that in time for me to get to my Check up. Now Thanksgiving is ruined. I was given a Dec 3 rd appt.

Holy cr@p, it is bad outside. I am so glad that I do not have to go anywhere on days like today. My DD said that nothing in town is closed....she is babysitting for neighbors who had to go to work and of course the school and daycares are cancelled.

Well I was hoping to go in today, get my lab work done and be weighed...before the holidays. Now said tests and weighing will come AFTER Thsnksgiving, so I cannot enjoy the day..I will have to watch every thing I put into my mouth from now until Dec. 3 rd.
Glad that you don't have to go anywhere. We are happy because of that too. Being retired does have some benefits I guess.

It is a cold, frosty day today...brrrrr. I ordered online from Walmart Monday night and it landed here last night(less than 48 hr)....I am impressed, I need to keep gift cards here and handy at that rate. I wish we could order groceries online as well but they deleted that option this Summer. So, that being said...my Christmas shopping for GB is completed. GG's is on the way. The madness has begun here as well

You're ahead of everyone Tina. We got about 16 inches with the last storm...so there's about two feet on the ground with the two storms so far.
Just got back from the local grocery store...they are renovating and it is taking forever.

I got 2 more gifts today and Darbi and Colby want cash so there won't be many presents under our tree. Sort of sad. I should buy myself a bunch of stuff, wrap it, and put it under the tree  When I was growing up we got new stuff at the beginning of school and at Christmas. If we got anything for our birthday at all, it wasn't a big item. And mostly we got stuff we needed like clothes. One year I got a suitcase and wasn't happy about that.

Tina: the second day now...I am keeping all 4 Grandchildren ( that live close to me) from yesterday (Wednesday ) morning to Monday night. I have come to the conclusion that my DD is a wonder woman ! This is a LOT of work! And they are loud. Otherwise they are good, just 3 that are 3 years old. And their 5 year old brother.But he has school all day.
Sheri, I too got useful things as gifts when I was a child. I remember when I graduated from Grade School... My birthday was a week later. I got $25.00. That money covered both occasions. In their defence, I had to have a new dress, my first pair ofheels, and the school arranged for all of the graduates and their families to go to this nice place to eat...So I guess all of that was supposed to be my gift. But still you and I had similar childhoods.
Wore out but still wide awake.

I bet those grands listen better to their parents than the grand parents Rest when you can, you are going to need it. I ordered the last of GG's gifts today(I had to get another gift card yesterday to order it)...only a toy phone left to get for GB(I can't decide on which one). My mother and DD will get a small gift with gift cards as well. Sheri, I plan to wrap the gift cards in big boxes DH and I will buy a little something for each other depending on the money left. I wish I was all done like Tina. I need to bake today.

I'd like to have some fun....but I keep finding things t repair instead . The bathroom fan is giving me trouble, I hope it's not the bearings. I plan to tear it apart in a few minutes.

Sunny we've got a few repairs we need to get done too. One is as easy as changing light bulbs but for this particular fixture I'm too short even on a ladder. It's an extremely heavy fixture and I can't old it in place and screw it back on by myself. As far as the bathroom fan - is it the bathroom ceiling fan? They're not expensive to replace if it is. And mine come down easily. Aubry and I are going to do some baking together for Christmas. I saw on FB today where a craft store in my town is having a card making day. Aubry and I went and made a few crafts there during the summer. This card thing is $25.00 a piece for 5 cards and I started to sign us up but I got to thinking we can buy enough stuff for $25.00 or less for both of us so we're having a card making day too. Wish you guys lived closer and could bring your grand children over and we'd make a day of it. We'd make a mess too

It would be so wonderful if we could gather together Sheri...at your house especially if glue and glitter is involved  Tina, I do hope that your son visits soon to help with the things you need done. The fan just had a stuck exhaust louver. What a noise it was making because the air couldn't go through....the same sound like when something is stuck in your vacuum. It is fixed and ready to go. Rest up Junie. I am off to do the barn work, DH got called to work due to drifting issues....the wind is awful.

Had a short nap..I feel world's better. Kids are sleeping yet, but they went down for their nap late too. So much to Papaw's displeasure, I am letting them sleep. They get rest, and Grandma gets caught up in some things.
Mac and cheese and green beans for supper here. Papaw is having a salad and left over pizza for supper.
