I bet you all did! But I have to ask..with all the fires, is there a possibility that you might lose power again ? (I hope not) you are not close to any fires are you?

I am going to watch my story and then head to bed..sweet dreams.

The fires happening now are not near me. I know of no fires in our area caused by SCE (SOCAL Edison) The fires up north were caused by PG&E who doesn't take care of and upgrade their infrastructure to well. I do not think we need these outages we've gotten. I also don't like being kept in the dark (*pun intended) when it comes to news of fires. Or news in general. Radio is not good here because the mountains, no reception.
But we are safe for now so I'm good.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

It was showing the California fires on the news this morning...it is so sad to think this is being caused by poor infrastructure.

Not sure what today holds...DH is picking up GB after lunch while he runs an errand.

Good morning. Some fires are caused by degraded infrastructure. And that is a much bigger problem in northern California than here. Ours is more likely to be sparked by weed abatement or faulty equipment as anything. But we have arsonists and bad bbq chefs as well. There are a lot of things that can cause fires.

Glad you're powers back on and you're safe Tina. Hope it stays that way. Does it bother Teddy to be out of power?

That is pretty gross, Sunny. It is my least favorite part. My favorite part----eating the pumpkins.
Tonight we are to get more wind. That means my power may go off again. And then again on Wednesday. Ick!
Do you save the pumpkin seeds?

Keep safe.

No, we don't save the seeds...they are just the carving kind that one gets at Walmart. We usually plant our own but this year I planted extra potatoes instead.

You can roast pumpkin seeds, Sunny. They are the yummiest ! If course you add spices and salt, but hey...that is what makes them good.

I'll send you my list for W-Mart as well Junie lol

I just got done taking apart the clothes dryer and vacuuming it all out. I do it twice a year and yet it is still scary to see all what comes out of it.

Good morning all,

I just finished redoing budget for next month, early ! so proud of myself LOL! paid last of bills for month too, and had a little left over... always nice..

Hubby is getting ready to go check out his hearing aids again, they keep changing his app so he has to go in to redo it... but they help me stay sane so it's worth it... I have a pumpkin to turn into a jack of lantern to but will wait till the day off.
I made a pear crisp yesterday .. kept it for today's dessert , now to decide on dinner...LOL! maybe just leftovers... going to put a pkg of bacon in over in a while to make for the weeks breakfasts... sure a lot easier to cook that way... lasts 2 weeks if I hide it from hubby..he thinks he needs 4 pieces every day, I limit him to 2 every other day...

Well off to get bacon started and sweep up kitchen … see what else I can get up to.... have a good day all!

Nana

I am glad your hubbies hearing sides work well..it seems my DH's hearing aides do not help so much....at least not enough.

And yes bacon does sound lovely. I myself could not just eat 2 pieces of bacon every other day either. Rules or not.

Very tired.going to bed soon. Sweet Dreams everyone!

Stay safe Tina....the news on the fires are terrifying. I am glad that you are not in immediate danger, and I hope someone can get that generator accessible for you.

It is calling for a rain/wind storm for Halloween here...the kids will be disappointed.

Good morning. It looks like the winds will come late tonight and stay through Thursday. Sustained 40-60 mph with gusts to 90-100 mph. I am used to it here. But not looking forward to it in the dark and without TV, radio or computer. Stocking for our needs this morning and prepping where I can for the next couple of days.

Tina, I bought a tiny radio at Walmart for $20....it works with AA batteries, it runs forever on just two batteries. It was a really good buy. I use it outside and also when the power goes out.

I went for a few groceries today at our local store, they are renovating and the place is in a mess....up goes the prices to pay for the new floors and paint I bet.

Those types of radios are the best. Then to have a TV band on one is even better for power outages...That is a good reminder, Sunny...thanks !

Sorry for the grocery store " upgrade"... Sadly you are probably right about the grocery shopping.

Yep Junie Paw Patrol is a cartoon Colt watched. Their song says Paw Patrol On A Roll. Colt used to have all the Paw Patrol toys.

We need to get a battery operated radio too.

I buy center cut bacon and cook it in the oven for 20 minutes. I used to get the kind in a box but it tastes so much better this way.

I have radios. What I don't have is reception. I have mountains on all sides of me and they block all. There are a couple of fuzzy stations that reach me but they are so bad. I don't turn on the radio in my car until I am away from my house. But thank you.
I am ready. The wind is not here yet so still have power.

It feels weird to be waiting for the wind. Well not so much wind as a power outage but the wind will be the forerunner. I do not like these power turn off things. And I am not alone. The state is beginning to look into PG&E and their legality. I would also like them to look into the 'need' for ours with SCE. I just don't see it.

I spent the day making GG a costume...I wish she wouldn't wait until last minute. Thankfully I bought a fluffy orange blanket for her last month that worked out well for it. So an orange cat she is. I never even started making my fudge yet.
