Well, I was poor and had a passel of kids with my 3 and two fosters. We didn't go out and do much to keep one home from. I baked often and a lot. And the small critters loved them some cookies and such. Went to the library often and if they didn't brhave, no books, etc. The little things.

We none can do now what we did then...but then IMO some of that has to do with our aging, and some had to do with back in the day we did what was needed for our family. We did not even entertain the idea of not being able to do it. We just did it.

Sorry I did not come in and say good night. I had turned off my tablet, then I realized that I had not come in and said goodnight. Again, so sorry.

She might have learned a little lesson, she missed the bus so instead of me driving her I kept her home from school(which in her mind is the worst thing ever) and took away everything in her room for the day and kept her in the empty room with only being allowed out to go to the bathroom and get food. This morning went better thumbup

I told her if things don't change I am bringing her back to her mother....if that doesn't scare then nothing will.

I remember being beat badly as a child, most times for getting the blame for something I never did. My mother was cruel to say the least....and I despise her to this day for it. DD got the butt spanking a few times as well...to show her who was boss. Mind you, if you ask her....she says she deserved it.

Exactly about a child getting what they deserve. As I said I raised one each way...the spankings, did a better job. I can still hear my very young..( Like in 3 rd grade) youngest DD...she said, and I quote , " if you touch me, I will tell my teacher that you beat me"......

That girl needed the spankings worse that her sister ever did. Obviously she did not get them. She still treats and speaks to me as if I am dirt.

So glad you found a way to get your point across to your GG. Sounds like she knows you mean business. Good for you.

Rod is gone..the house is quiet, and I get to watch the morning TV shows as I please.

We went to Wal-Mart today. Now I am trying to figure out what tomorrow will bring.

I will say goodnight now in case I cannot come back in.
Sleep well my friends.

I have to go for GB today...apparently at '17 o'clock' lol

I hauled out a cord of wood with the tractor after supper to get started on next years 'drying'...it is so pretty in the woods this time of year. The trees are all colors and the chipmunks are chirping away. I wish Fall was a longer season.

LOL on the 17 o'clock. Henry is just learning to do Fifty, in stead of 5--0.

I too L-O-V-E fall. I would be happy to have it last 12 months a year.

Going to try to go shopping today. Rod will have to drive me. I do not do interstate driving on Saturday.

Hi all,

I love the 17 o'clock... my son used to say stuff like that too,,,,, when he didn't know the word for something he said "what's that red thing? " rarely was actually red it's just the way he said it... confused a lot of people.
Just did my end of month bills, and next months budget too... I am so proud I did it before the next month actually started...LOL!

It's been really nice here the last few days too, in the low 80's and just breezy, wish we could be this way all yr too... but can't beat the rest of yr too...much better than the snow and wet we had in Colorado...
Well off to get ready to go visit inlaws for awhile and then home to make a batch of oven fried chicken for dinner tonit and another night this week...

Have a good weekend all!
Nana

It seemed to cool off too much and too fast here. But we haven't gotten rid of summer yet so I'm enjoying our low 70's for now.

Saturday evening central time.
70's sound good, Tina. I hope we all aren't enjoying fall one minute and then are knee deep in snow the next. But then, I guess you will not have to worry about that will you Tina? ( a lot of snow I mean)

Rod took me out for supper this evening, and I got a Birthday gift for one of my Grandsons, and a Christmas gift for another. I am a happy Grandma.

Update. 10:19 pm

I just popped in to say goodnight. Sweet dreams.

Well good to know, Tina.
I had 2 cups with pumpkin spice creamer. So that is how I celebrated the day.

Happy National Coffee Day to you all.

He does...but he also does not like how the other men torment him about it though. As crazy as this sounds, he gets frustrated with me with all that I do. why

It is below the freezing mark here this morning..it's a crisp day, a good one for working outdoors. I'll pile the cord of wood I took out from the woods last night then rest tomorrow while it rains thumbup

Well, how he feels makes me feel better. But I am getting he is happy not to have to do all you do when he is not at work. Very happy he is aware though.

Another warm day here..well Wrentham it should be this time of year...( They say it will be in the 80's) but that next week it will get back to normal..whatever that is. I know I loved here last year, but I guess I do not remember the weather so well.

Drinking coffee and eating my donut.

Good morning. It is 61* here this morning. It may be time to get the blankets out of the closet. I'm drinking my coffee but thinking more like hot chocolate or mulled cider.

Ah yes,mulled cider sounds yummy.
I guess I should see if I need to wash my blankets...If S. Missouri is like I'm was, we will have not weather one day, and cold blanket weather the next.

I wish you all a good day.

It was 91*F today, it will be 93*F tomorrow and 94*F Wednesday. Then next week the forecast is for the weather to be in the mid 40's...I am guessing that will be a one day or one night thing....at least I hope that is all it is.

It's a cold and rainy day today...at least it stayed above the freezing mark so the flurries might miss us. I plan to take the kids to get their snow suits and boots this weekend thumbup

One more day of nice weather and I'll have all next years wood corded up behind the shed for drying.

Thanks, Tina..but I did not go shopping...well I went but with My DH. I really think he was trying to make up for telling me he would not drive me home to ceramics. We went to stores he likes but he really did not need anything. He would look awhile and then ask me what I needed....

Now We are home, and a nap sounds good.
