Girls on their way over..mom and Henry are going to the Dentist to get some work done.

Supper in the crock pot...life is good. Drinking coffee now.

I put stew beef, onions, sliced celery, beef bullion, and water in my slow cooker. Made beef and noodles for the girls and stir fry for Rodney.

All bathed and ready for bed now.

Oops sorry, "I" am bathed and ready for bed. I fed the girls their supper as they are used to getting their supper about 5 to 5:30 every night. Then they are usually in bed by 7...now they may not be sleeping that soon but in their bedroom they are.
I did not have their PJs with thrm, so no they did not spend the night.

We are going to the town yard sales friday, and I intend to buy some jammies, and
changes of clothes for all 4 kids. Yard sale prices are good for a Grandma that will have her clothes outgrown long before they are wore out.

Sweet dreams, Carol. I found hand me downs a lovely way to stretch a budget for my kids. At least until they got to the age of wearing things out. Then things became harder to find

I accepted hand me downs for DD joyfully...it sure made things easier financially when she was young. I hope you find some great items.

Oh if it were not for hand me downs, Carol's wardrobe would be in sad shape.
We did go to a yard sale last week that had some new . wonderful brand of woman's clothing ( according to Val) and I got 3 tops and a pair of leggins, all for $20.00. If I could have tried them on I might have bought a few more. My sister usually kept me supplied in different clothes, via hand me downs...but with living so far from her, I am thinking I will not be so lucky any more.

Good morning. We are into June gloom and is it gloomy. Following an extremely wet May, I am getting antsy for some sun. I'll be regretting that wish soon enough though.

Sorry for your gloomy weather Tina, wish I could send you all some of ours... warm not hot and slightly breezy to keep the bugs at bay... wishing I could find a nice patio set so we could eat outside. specially breakfast.. going to hit the park tomorrow . there is a gathering every Wednesday of people who sell neat stuff and some garage type sales too.. really like the idea of the produce and farmers mkt stuff available... really like this small town more and more..

I am going to go wash windows today.. did indoors yesterday of most of them... need hubby to reach most of the outside though.. sometimes being only 5 ft tall is a pain... sometimes it's an advantage though...hubby painted all our inside doors the last few days.. my bedroom was last , it's still in progress... they sure look better though..

Well off to get windows done and see what else I can get done before day heats up to much... have a good day all!

Nana it"s way too hot here already to do much of anything outside. My windows could use a good washing. We haven"t had a drop of rain in 21 days. We"re all going to turn to dust.

Washing windows is something I can do when it's overcast.

These will does here will only get a kick and a promise. They are the old kind that have screens on the outside. My o!d house had tilt in Windows and so we're easy to keep clean.

Hi all, more rain for today then it is calling for a full week of sunshine. I hope your gloomy weather fades away as well Tina.

Junie, I buy all my clothes at Walmart now...it's not the fanciest but at least one can afford them new with the basic $6 to $12 prices. (I live in yoga clothes).

Bestofour, I hope the rain visits soon...that is a long dry spell.

On another note, do any of you have any advice on those portable air conditioners?

We bought 110 volt AC unit for Emily back in the day. That unit went into a window and then just plugged in, we also had a 220 unit and needed a special electrical line. The one we bought was a simple 1 room unit . I think you might want to buy a stronger one, then add a floor fan to disburse the cool air to all around the house. We had a circular house ( one room lead into the next in a circle) and the fan helped make the whole house livable and some rooms really felt nice.

I have to get a portable one because nothing fits in my newer windows. I was just wondering because there is a 9000 BTU on sale that I could afford by the end of the month. My living room, dining area and kitchen are open to each other.

The ones I've seen need to be vented outdoors because they can poison you indoors with carbon monoxide.Make sure your family is safe, Sunny.
