I wish  It stormed all weekend. GB only went home last night...much to his pleasure. My snow is down to about 8 ft everywhere except for a few pushed up banks that are about 12 ft high. The kids were 'tight rope' walking on the clothesline yesterday

Good Morning. I would have liked to see the kids play that. It makes me smile to think of it. Overcast here today. But still I know spring is here. Now to hope we do not get snow in April. Yesterday my DD said it had happened. But the frost date here is April 16 th. Now to find out about the hummingbird return.

Mopped myself into a corner for a few. I can't imagine all the things a person could grow there with that long season Junie. The teacher send the kids home with a recorder/flute to learn to read music...it is going to be a long few months

My youngest got a recorder in grade school as well. But I did not ever hear her play it. Yes one can grow a lot here but my yard is situated such that I will only get to p!any some herbs and tomatoes. This year will be spent killing grass and prepping an area for flowers and my few veggies. To that end my SIL gave me a few bags that one hangs on a fence to plant a tomato 🅠plant in. There is another for peppers but I may plant something else in it instead.

Tina, Grade 3 gets them here as well...she payed it for over an hour I fell outside on the ice...and hit the ground so hard that I peed my pants. I am officially old

Morning all,
We are home and just finished paying bills for the end of the month, now should file stuff but I just hate doing that.. have a whole pile of stuff to file...LOL! Hubby went to stores to buy stuff we are out of, it's supposed to hit 80* here today, have doors open to air out house, going to wash bedding today too.. hang it outside to get that airdried smell.. Really glad I cleaned the house before we left now I can just do smaller stuff that needs doing.. love the visiting but sure tired me out .
Well got to go and get stuff done, maybe file even who knows?

Taxes. We took ours to a new CPA here in MO. He said we did not have to file.I do hope he is right. It would make more sense for us to file and not have to pay in but oh well.

I agree, here you have to file even if you have no income. I have to file with $0.00 on every line. I went to the dentist yesterday...I wanted to get in my cleaning, exams and a filling before we have no coverage in two weeks.

I am happy also, Carol. Have you been able to find doctors and a church close to you now? Any stores and such that you feel comfortable driving to?

We will join my daughter's church. It would not be my first choice, but it would be hard if we chose a different, smaller church.
I changed my primary care Dr. And my cardiologist. I kept my Gyno and my bone Dr.
I can drive to Wal-Mart, Kohl's, Target and a strip mall Target is in. I also think there is an easier way for me to use to get to the regular mall. So I am good with stores. Thanks for asking.

Tina, DH will be off work at any notice in April. The longer the weather lasts, the longer he stays. It is calling for now tonight as a matter of fact. He has been trying to set up Summer work but it is a fight to get any work here. Most times he fills in for men who want time off from their jobs for vacations and such.
Great news on the cardiologist Junie.
I have to pick up GB in a few hrs for his sleepover, he had a b-day party to attend today for one of his 'tay care friends'.

Thanks Sunny. I am pleased as well.
Valarie and I went shopping today. I took in 2 of my rings to get fixed, so I could wear them.
I will still need to take in my wedding rings in to be to be fixed, but that will be a job for another day.

What work are you getting done on the rings? I need to get my wedding rings expanded....I can't even get them off my finger. They'd have to cut them off first.
I picked up GB...he now has red cheeks, a runny nose and a cough. It matches my GG who woke up with a fever and her head in a bucket....it never ends.

My rings.....one lost a tiny diamond. And so if course I need the rest of the tiny diamonds checked. Then my MIL's diamond needs to be made larger as well. I will be wearing it on my index finger. When I recover from having that done, I will have my wedding set made larger....
The sickness never ends here either. I am currently working on getting the kids current cold...oh well.

Well, GB is gone home with pink cheeks so I'll await the call. GG was sick all day and night and has a high fever this a.m. again. The school bus only had one child on it this morning when it passed here(there should have been about 14) so I am assuming it is was taken home by a few.
It reached 50* here yesterday, it was beautiful but it went from the 20's to 50's so fast that I have it flooded out my woodshed. I'll now have the bottom two layers of wood encased in ice in my rows. The water seeped into DH's shed but thankfully we poured a floor higher than the water level so it was just a trickle. DH says that it is time to do the wood shed as well this year. The weather gets stranger every year.

I have a strange story to tell you. My mother called yesterday to tell me my 49 yr old cousin passed away. We were not close at all but I told her I'd go visit my Uncle(his father). I got a call today to tell me that the cousin died on vacation in Cuba(his girlfriend found him dead in the bed in the morning)...and by the time they are done, it is going to cost my Uncle $40,000 to bring him home. Does that make any sense?

That seems a lot of money, Sunny. I don't know what else to say. Was your cousin a vet? I know it makes a difference in the states. Did he purchase any kind of travel insurances?
I have a policy that will pay for travel for my body from anywhere in the world. It included my minor children at the time also. I don't travel anymore and if it wasn't fully paid for, I would let it lapse.

But yes I know it costs a small fortune to even transport bodies between states, never mind from one country to another.
My DH's Uncle passed away while on Vacation in Missouri, which is next door to ILlinois where he lived. But it was stil! Expensive to transport him. Evidently there is a lot of red tape involvrd. Tina, thanks for the reminder, I think that when anyone travels any more, they should utilize travel insurance.
We were home today to close out our joint banking account. So we stopped in to see momma. I think she was doing better.

Tina, we found out he had no travel insurance. I have no clue what will happen, my Uncle drained his bank account keeping his wife in special care until she passed away. She was young when diagnosed with Alzheimer's and needed 24 hr care. How can a person be so stupid as to not purchase insurance when travelling?
GG is still sick, she can't even keep down water anymore. This happened last year in March. I am going to call and try get her an appt with the doctor....as much as I hate it, she might need a Gravol shot.

No chance Tina....it seems seeing a doctor lately is a hit or miss. Even the walk-in clinic was closed due to a doctor shortage. I did get out to get her some kids Gravol though, after 4 days of not keeping anything down I am giving it a try. The doctor told me before to not give a child Gravol if they have a fever  . The fevers have broke so we'll give it a go.

I Am glad that you Spoke to a doctor already so when this happened again, you now know what to do and not to do. I hope she is able to keep the medicine down.

Valarie 's. Birthday cake is baked and frosted ( spice cake with peanut butter icing) I have a chocolate bar for garnish. Tomorrow night I am feeding her and her family supper. We will have pork steaks, butter and herbs noodles, corn on the cob, broccoli , rolls and an angel good cake with strawberries. Good night, sweet dreams.

GG is better this morning.  Your meal sounds wonderful Junie...you are spoiling Val and family. I have laundry to catch up with today...we are getting a snow storm at lunch time. April snow brings May mud.

Good morning. Girls are here again today and breakfast is over.
I slept 8 hours last night... I think my body is very surprised.

We are good.
DD had to cancel work...the roads on either side of her were closed due to accidents. The day care is on one side, her work on the other. There are still people with no power since yesterday. I had to shovel out my East windows again...this is ridiculous.
I have parent/teacher meetings today.

Rod took me out to a nice dinner tonight it was in honor of our upcoming 40th wedding anniversary. Tomorrow at 6am Val and I and her kids are going back to Worden to see our Dentist. I will be back tomorrow evening. Sleep well everyone.

More snow for us tomorrow. Come on May Any idea how much snow you've already had this year? It was 77° here Friday but we did have a little over an inch of snow Monday along with sleet. I know you'll laugh at this - where Aubry and Colby go to school the head master announced over the intercom for all the students to meet her outside so they could see the snow. They got to stay outside 15 minutes.

Sheri, I'm not sure on the amount...I can let you all know though the next time I stop for gas. They keep track because they also run a snow removal/plowing service. Too funny though on the kids getting out to see the snow. Tina, the thought is a good place to start....I didn't do much of anything yesterday. Between the kids, people visiting unannounced and trying to do laundry....a simple supper was the only thing accomplished. Apparently, Junie is making us coffeecake today.

Once the cookies were broken, the calories fell out ! So there! The only thing you should never do is put a whole cookie in your mouth. If you do that, then all it's calories are yours

Good morning. I have to get a few groceries today and stop for a gift for my SIL at the pharmacy gift shop. She turns 65 tomorrow...and is not to happy about it. I'm happy about it...because I got invited to the 'girls only~ b-day supper' at a new restaurant in town We are supposed to get a week of nice weather starting tomorrow. I'll take any temps that melts this snow.

We are putting up my pictures of the Grandkids today. Yay for finally getting the pink photo matts for the 4 girls pictures. Then I have a few hand print photos to put up in our bedroom.
Not to brag, but it is supposed to be 74 here todsy. Then 79 Wednesday. Then rain and cooler Thursday. I don't know if I should change over our clothes or not...

Hi all,
Chuckling here about God's jeans.. you would think they would be rip proof ,LOL! just finished writing check for tax man and IRS, get back from one and pay other.. you would think they could just send it to the other one for you...LOL! Hubby went to send them off, will mail pymt tomorrow... hate to let them have it till last minute...
Went to have hubby's hearing aids checked and cleaned... have I said how much I love him having them...makes a big quality of life difference for both of us.. we are going tomorrow to the nursery to get a rosebush or 4 to put in yard.. hope to find a yellow one for my Mom, and maybe a lavender bush too... have to work on my filing again , not something I like doing so I put it off as long as I can....
Well off to file while my soap is on, makes it a little easier to get done.

Yes it is exciting ! For exactly the reasons Tina cited ! Sadyou have to feed the family first though. When there is a chance for me to be out at meal time, I cook enough the night before to feed Rod the next night. But then he will eat leftovers.

We are getting our first 'nice' day of the year. It is supposed to hit 41*F by the end of day...anything that can melt snow is a welcome sight.
