I hope I have the right number. I'm mostly opening a new ch to ditch the weird thing in the last one. Crossing my fingers....

Yep, the number is right... I reported this to James and I told him all about it. I will not lock the last CH yet in case James needs it.

I hope that link does not follow us here.

What was the 'link' that was tagging us all about??

Happy Valentine's Day...it gave me almost 2 ft of snow.

Sunny, I think it was an old link from long ago. But whatever it was is thankfully gone. Sorry for the 2 feet of snow. That is a far too "generous" gift that mother nature gave you. I am so sorry.

Tina, I made " Papaw" chocolate chip cookies last night I had them in a Tupperware container sitting on his chair for him this.morning.

The Girls got their color-coded suckers from their mom& dad after breakfast today. I do not know if I agree about the sugar theory but they are acting up.

Me too.
I made Teddy one of his favorite things fo lunch, garlicky mashed potatoes with cheese. I'm asking for bites but he's not sharing. I should have made more.

Well, I did not make him cookies for Breakfast, that is just when he got them. I began making them after he went to bed so he would not know about them. Then he gets up way before me, so I just it them on his recliner so he would be surprised.

Tina, I do not blame Teddy. If someone made me a favorite food, I would not have shared either.
I guess you will just have to make some for yourself.

I actually used the last of the regular potatoes on Teddy's dish. And he did share when he began to get full.
Sweet dreams, Carol.

Too cute Tina...Teddy thinks like my Grand boy kissie

I just got in from shoveling out the windows...the roof will wait for tomorrow since there is another storm on it's way for us in a few hours, only 6 inches this time though.

I seen quite a mess on the news from the flooding in California. Tina, do you mind if I ask where you live there?

I swear, I do not know about what I am doing wrong. I know I said goodnight last night...but it is not there. I guess I will double check my posts so I can figure out what is happening.

My last physical therapy is today...wish I had another month, but I think the fitness club is giving me free month to entice me to join it, so perhaps that will be enough to get me over this hurt.

Be safe everyone. It is supposed to get icy here around noon.

If you get a google map of San Bernardino, cal up, I live just to the west of the triangle of freeways come to a point. Where the 15 and 215 meet at the top. That is the best description for mapping it. In truth I am up the side of a mountain and flooding is not a danger to me. If I lost my ground cover in a fire, it would be a different story.
The flooding going on is mostly in burn areas or low lying areas that get slammed.

Tina, still ..........stay safe.I

Sunny, I too am very sick of winter and yes, I got my free month to use the whole fitness place. Heated pool included. There is no expiration date on the coupon, so, I will wait a week or so so so so not have to worry about the weather so much.

Another storm to clean up today. Thankfully it is showing a week of clearer weather ahead...they better not be lying.

GB called twice last night to make sure that I was going for him today. Apparently I have to pick him up at '7 after dinner' lol

Good morning.

Sunny, I guess that GB was eating something good for Dinner at his house ? You know since you are to pick him up " after" dinner ? Little ones are so cute.

It had better be clearer soon at my house too. The Girls party is next Sunday. They were so cute the 14 th. When they got up from their nap, I told them that they had presents to open. They wanted to know was it their birthday. Apparently they are really excited about their birthday..( Just theirs, not Henry's in case you were wondering) I said no, this was for Valentine's Day.

Ice pellets on the sidewalks and roads. Grass looks ok.

Their Birthday is February 22nd. they will be 3. This year their party is Sunday the 24th

. But every since they have seen their Unicorn shirts that Mommy had made for their birthdays, every day they want to know is it their birthday. When I said they had presents to open, they assumed it was their Birthdays.

Supper is almost ready... Carol is very hungry !

First, yes about the 3 years having gone by quickly. Rodney was just saying that he has no idea how 3 years have gone by already.
Second, How on earth did Colby get to be 16 ? I will be afraid to go to sleep tonight. By next week, he will be 20!

Watching TV tonight....

Henry was born on Easter Sunday April 20 th 2014. He will be 5 this April 20 t h.

I said it the way I did because the girls are just learning about birthdays and so they felt obligated to tell me that it was just their birthdays and not Henry' s. I have a feeling all is not going to go well when it is Henry' s Birthday and they do not get presents. I guess the 4 of us are going to have to have another talk about birthdays and why we celebrate them, and when.

AND congratulations on a very good guess when it came to Henry's birthday year.
In response, is Teddy 20 this year??or am I way off ?

Going to bed soon. Sweet Dreams, Tina.
Everyone sleep well. See you all tomorrow.

Teddy is going to be 25 >> WOW ! I was sure it was just a short time ago that he turned 18...Time sure does fly !

And Yes I remember thinking that I would never have Grandkids.,,then, as Emily had Luke, and Valarie married Brian, I thought well possibly I would have 4 (2 from each daughter) and look at me now---4 Grands from each Daughter,,,I am sure they never thought this would happen either.
Color me happy !

Valarie will be 39 this April and Emily will be 33 this April..now how did THAT happen I want to know ???

My check up with my new Cardiologist got switched from the 6th to tomorrow. Mind you Rodney and I both have the beginnings of colds, but if he does not feel any worse than he did today we will still go to it. Otherwise, no no plans,

Hi all, it is a holiday here. A new one added to the calendar for Canada....Family Day. I have no plans, GB is still here since there is no day care today. I'll take him home after supper. GG went for a sleepover at my mother's last night...the first sleepover she had in a year.

It is supposed to be a day for families to get out together...mind you, everything is closed and it is too cold to do anything outside either. why

Well I am all for Holidays . Perhaps this should become like Thanksgiving or Christmas. Families can get together and instead of anything else. They can have nice meals.

Going to take a nap now. wavy

I am bundled up. It's cold outside and in. I would bake something only my oven broke last night. Bummer. I will be replacing it.
At least we have a dry few days ahead. Wet cold is the worst kind.

I just had to replace my cook stove Tina...it is always something isn't it?

Junie, I thought there were certain varieties of cold syrups that one could take when they have heath problems as well. DH has to take Coricidin because of his high blood pressure.

Today is a clean and mop day...it is too cold to do anything else lol

It's a bummer when a favorite cold med is kicked off your list. I hated NyQuil when it first sprang up. It was hard to get past the taste/smell. But it saw me past the London flu back in the early 70s when I wanted to die. I can't imagine living without it now.
I hope everyone has a great Tuesday.

Hi all .

Been under the weather again. moved to Az and stayed ill I think. it's been crazy.. mostly a cold that will not go away, take meds and sleep so been asleep a lot! Finally feel almost normal but can not shake the cough... it is cold here today too, was about half an inch of snow this morning but it melted away quickly... supposed to rain or snow next few days...

I saw where you listed ages of kids and grands....kids 52, 48, 42.... and grands 29 down to 14, greats 7-2. they sure do multiply and age quickly. Wish I didn't !
Well I need to get busy and clean some while I feel half way decent... hubby went to visit inlaws…I need to eat some lunch and get busy cleaning up.. making chili for dinner with cornbread..

Nana

Now flu is given letters or numbers, I think. But 40+ years ago it came with names from places where it was started. Sort of. I only remember the pain and the NyQuil of it really. Everything hurt, my eyelids when blinked, my eyeballs when they moved, my head my neck, my feet and each toe on my feet, etc.
The other influenza types that came through missed me, Hong Kong and Spanish and others. But London flu knocked me for a loop. It may have been the same flu from 1968, N1H2 Hong Kong flu but it was called the London flu by the local news in 1973.

It has rained most of the day and is in the forecast every day except 1 for the next 10 days. Does not do well with frizzy hair.

I can't take codeine or guiafenisen so I'm out of luck when it comes to a cough.

So sorry, Sheri.

Have you looked at Delsym ? It is a cough suppressant and it lasts for 12 hours. Comes in Grape and Orange. Go check it out. I had Heart attack and I am on blood pressure meds...so why not check it out ?

The best cough syrups are the old time 'pine tar' variety. Tastes like cr@p but works....and there are no 'meds' in them either.

Tina, that flu must have been twice as tough to deal with with children so young to look after.

I had planned to go to town today...but GG had a fever through the night and a croupy cough with it. It is supposed to storm again tomorrow...being an hour away from the bank, Walmart and the vets office really bites. I might have to leave her with my mom later...much to her dismay.

Well, I think leaving her with your mom is an excellent idea, esp since the weather will turn tomorrow. Plus it is good for the 2 of them to have time together.

About the pine tar cough syrup. There is one I like...Creomulsion ( I may have spelled it wtong) but the point is the Child version has an adult dosage on the label and it does not taste so bad, I like how it works better than the adult version.

ALso, has anyone tried Vicks in their feet ? It is reported to help a lot. You put it on the soles of your feet, and put socks on I believe, then I guess either lie down or do it at bedtime. I guess I should really look online.

I've used Vicks a lot on the kids...the baby vicks kind though. On feet and chest.

I ended up taking GG with me, I had no choice since she absolutely refused to go to my moms(not that I blame her either). We just went to the bank, the insurance place, Walmart and the vets office for some farm meds. It was a quick trip....but I did find GG a Fall jacket and a Winter jacket for next year on clearance for $7 each.

I took some Tylenol and when I felt better, I made Apple cinnamon muffins for the girls tomorrow, so my ST wakes up and says did you have a popcorn party ? Since I had nit, I offered to make some so I did. Then after cleaning up from that I finished watching my do so and now in a few I will read more of my current book.

Good night, see you all tomorrow. Sweet Dreams. wavy

Apple muffins sound good....I must make some soon.

Yes Junie, I always head to the clearance rack as soon as I walk into Walmart. I also got baby sleepers half price for a baby shower we are invited to next month.

Today I will do the usual clean and laundry routine...it is supposed to start snowing at any time. Thankfully it is only calling for six inches.

I don't know what to expect from our weather today. Thunder and lightning? Rain or snow? Sunshine and cold? It is all in the mix. The main theme is cold all day. My thermostat just kicked over to 40 for the first time today. It feels like weather roulette.

That is the kind of weather to make one sick Tina...keep warm.

I've had computer troubles the past few days...everything kept redirecting to 'Bing' which I hate. I had to take out Firefox and install Google. I hope it works...although I wish it had a decent bookmark toolbar. Any advice?

I hate Bing too Sunny and once in a while my computer directs to there. It's a worthless site in my opinion.

Junie I'm afraid to try other cough medicines since I've had allergic reactions with several.

Monday we had sleet, snow, and rain. Since then it's been rain only.

Wow, Winter has really hit for you all.

Did Teddy not want to join in the fun Tina?

Now GB has a fever, they sent him home from day care yesterday so I need to go pick him up this morning as soon as GG gets on the bus. Thankfully DD only goes in to work for 9 am. It is 'bug' season all around.

Junie, I run a small fan at night for the 'white noise'...if I did not, then I would never fall asleep.

I've got two coughing, phlemmy kids here....I'm going to drink some Lysol after lol

I have a sound machine for The girls. Perhaps I should use it when they are not here.

Later:

We are in the The basement to take " our" naps but Papaw said that we could go back upstairs. I told the girls if they wanted to stay down in the basement to take their nite-nite they would have to be quiet or we would go back up. Heidi is already asleep and the other 2 are whispering.

Very severe weather warning. We were hoping it would pass us by, but since it would be the kids nap time, we thought to put them down there for " in case". Nothing became of the weather. But the girls had a good time.........once they settled down.

We had supper here for Val's family. It turns out that Chicken-bacon-ranch pizza is pretty good. Tasted no chicken or ranch dressing. The bacon was sure there though. And lots of Mozarella cheese.

Kids are finally going home. Grandma needs a bath..

It is nice to see you Cindy kissie How are things?

It is calling for another major snow storm after supper...we are supposed to get another two feet. I am running out of place to put the snow. I am so glad DH bought an old skid steer this Fall, it is almost 40 years old but it works great to move the snow around. I can keep it cleared enough around the house so that we are not as closed in as usual.

I wonder how Nana is doing...the news said that Arizona is getting some terrible weather.

Cindy ! Hello ! So very good to see you ! The kids really did not cause the me needing a bath. I was just due for one, and I hate getting up in the morning and going right to getting a bath. Very glad I could make you laugh ! (I do what I can) bow

I hope Nana is ok too !

Sunny, yay on having equipment to make your winter work easier. DH gets points.

Today is the girl's party. I am sure to enjoy seeing them have fun!

Well it was a nice party. They loved their big cup cakes. Each had their own color-coded cup cake, but really, they did not eat much. Heidi was the only one to smile when we sang "Happy Birthday" but they all enjoyed blowing out candles.
My unicorn pillows were a big hit. And honestly, the color-coded bags they were in were more of a hit.-----You can carry several of your gifts in the one bag, it is glorious........ Shirley ( the other Grandma) asked Cora where she was going when she began to walk off with her full unicorn bag hiked up on her shoulder.(like a shoulder bag)....Cora said "to Grandmas". We asked her which grandmas was she going to.....she said "the other Grandmas". Everyone laughed, but I knew what she meant. When I am talking to the girls, I refer to Brian's mom as "your other Grandma"....and no, I did not tell any of them what she meant. I may tell Valarie about that in case it happens again.

WOW! 2 feet of snow ! I do not blame you about not wanting to deal with the snow.
Surely spring cannot be far off, right ?

The sun is out here, I wish you all a great day.

I do not know what to wish for you, Sunny. A quick spring would be sudden snowmelt and possible flooding, etc. But I do wish for you a long, leisurely summer with enough rain to encourage bumper crops of both human food and animal feed.

Sunny never thought about you having to move snow around and I can't imagine it. I would definitely be claustrophobic if I couldn't see out of the windows. The sun is out today for the first time in a very long time but it's too windy to be outside and enjoy it. How will the school students every make up all the schools days they've missed this year?

Junie grand children call us what they want so I thinks "the other grandmother" is a good name for the other grandmother. Wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit to be called that. My nieces called my mother grandmother and the other one grandmother 2. She thought it was cute.

Thinking of the 'other grandmother' makes me think of the child's movie "Coraline" lol

Yes Tina, I need a slow melt...and less snow falling. I sometimes wonder why we live in this province. You have to shovel and move snow two or three times after each storm...it is ridiculous.

That is cute, Sheri.

Sunny, when it comes to " the other Grandma" I will always come in second, no matter what they call me. But at least they do not cry when they are brought over here anymore. I will take what I can get.

That is a lot of snow to move, I will say. Does your DH know how lucky he is that he does not have to come home from work and do that ?

No, I watch the girls on Wednesday and Thursday, Tina. Which is good, I still hope to go " home" occasionally to ceramics. And yes, it is Tuesday.

I could not sleep last night, I was up until 4 am. I do hope I stop such silliness .

I wish you all a great day !

Metoo, Tina, me too.

I spent the day looking for a swim suit. Found a cute one at Kohl's, but it looked to me as if it would float up in the water exposing my stomach......so no. Then the other one that kinda fit me, was $60.00. Oh well, no suit for Carol.

Still coughing.....

Day 3 this week of school being cancelled. Well, we sent them yesterday....then they sent them back home. All roads were closed after lunch yesterday due to zero visibility with blowing snow. The weather is ridiculous.

I had a baby calf born yesterday as well...all snug in the barn with his momma.

I slept well last night. Waiting for coffee.

Hi all,

Meant to check in earlier but ended up taking a day trip to go visit Joe's cousin who was visiting from Kentucky, she is such a sweet person, met her yrs ago , then they moved so lost touch... she has had two bouts of cancer in last few yrs... and decided she wanted to see her Az family again after last round of chemo... she is looking good so hope this time helped …
I have been trying to get J's new social security number so we could sign up for insurance for him .. they haven't mailed it and finally today was able to get it off website... so now get to call and get that all set up too... hopefully that will work... he loses company insurance end of this month so we are cutting it close.. always something !

Well off to get breakfast and then get to call and see how long hold will be.....

Nana

Wow...so much different weather going on with you guys. My electric bill was over $400 last month because subzero temps, but thankfully it has been nothing but rain here for the past few weeks. If that rain would have been snow my house would be covered, so you won't hear me complaining about the never-ending rain.

Lola is 20 years old now and doing fine. She is ready to lay more eggs soon.
Hope to be on here more now that my internet problem has finally been solved. Spectrum internet couldn't fix it, my grandson (Brennan) fixed it in less than 15 minutes. He's all grown up now, almost 20 years old. Time flies.

Tina is far away from the flooding. I do feel for those people though.
It rained here overnight and today and we and we are officially out of drought. It will pour again over the weekend but I didn't pay attention to next week's forecast.
Hoping for spring.

Well Tina , our sun is out and it is around 74* here, hubby actually mowed and watered yesterday... spring has arrived here, our plum tis growing leaves now too! Loving Az right now! You are all invited to come stay if you like... we have 2 extra bedrooms... and air beds too..LOL!

Coffee was appreciated this morning .. had to redo bills , hubby gets medicare now so had to refigure money going out- good news is it's a whole lot less that they were taking for his insurance.... really helps! I got to go to doc yesterday , she is busy adjusting my meds and had to add another one for my blood pressure... old med that worked fine was found to cause cancer so had to change it, new ones don't work nearly as well... had to replace it with 2 different ones. and now a third... swear I should rattle with all these pills...LOL! Really like here though, she is very through... and I lost 5 lbs so that was nice too!

Well better get busy.... may get up tomorrow and hit some garage sales just for fun... finally feeling more normal and need to get some walking in while weather is so nice...

Have a wonderful day all!
Nana

Tina how long has CA been in a drought? Great that you've gotten some rain.

We had 2 days without rain but it's back today.

I'm taking one of Nana's extra beds...you can all fight for the other one lol

I was busy running errands and such yesterday.

We are officially snowed in everywhere...our province is such a mess. There were people house bound for days waiting for roads to be cleared out enough to get out of their driveways. The plows can't even keep up because the banks are so high that the snow just falls back on the roads when they shove it up....and it is calling for another storm on Monday. crazy

This was on our province's news twitter feed:

Wow ! That is a lot of snow! Thanks for the links.

"They" say we are going to get between 1 and 8 inches beginning tonight. We will see.
