I had posted this in the last coffee house but noticed we needed to move when I still had time to edit so I copied then deleted then pasted here. Guess I better to back and make sure it deleted.

Speaking of leftovers, you know Johnny doesn't like eating leftovers except for cold friend chicken and vegetable soup. Last week I cooked a roast in the crock pot and 2 days later took the left over roast, shredded it, flowered it, put it in a pot with a little olive oil, stirred it around a minute, added some beef broth, cooked some rice and dumped it in, and told Johnny it was beef stew with rice. He said more than once that it was the best beef stew he'd ever eaten. If he had known it was left over roast he wouldn't have eaten it.

I feel a little better today. Actually planted a flat of pansy's, I bought Saturday, while I was out feeding the cats. I planted them in pots right at the back porch so it didn't take much energy. I do sort of feel exhausted right now though but I had to go back outside with the bug man and then I vacuumed the upstairs. One thing I did this year is to pull out the dead and almost dead stuff from the flower pots before I planted the pansy's. I have a hard time pulling out anything that has any life left it in but today if things looked leggy I pulled it out. Made adding the pansy's a lot easier and things have a much cleaner look.

I use my electric blanket all year round. I just turn it up in the winter. :)

I don't have an electric blanket. I might purchase one this year though. Or two.
I voted by mail. I wish the phone would stop election bugging me now.
Than you for this ch, Sunny.

Yes Sunny, thank you for the new CH.

Voting. I am registered in MO but I will not vote this year. I have no idea who is telling the most truth..(I figure they all lie in some form) and

We now have our own Cable, internet and phone. I sure wish I had a normal landline, but spectrum will have to do. It does sound good though, I must say.

I spent the day outside doing the yard work. I only have a few shrubs to tie up(I ran out of twine) then it is done until spring.

I love leftovers...sometimes I make extra so that I can have it the next day when I cook DH steak or beef roast...I don't like beef(ground beef being the exception). Makes no sense why we raise cattle lol

I never had an electric blanket....how do you wash them?

Very carefully, Sunny. Really, the wiring inside gets quite fragile if washed often. They scare me then. I never wanted my kids to use them because of that. But the main idea is to protect the blankets from rough and dirty situations so it will last.

I have to head out in a few minutes to take GG for routine blood work. Our local clinic does blood work for adults but not children...so guess who gets to drive 45 minutes one way to get it done. Some things make no sense to me.

I'm back home...we went to Walmart on the same trip and picked up a few things. Halloween treats are all bought as well as special treats for my two grandkids.

It has been flurrying off and on all day.

A lot makes no sense to me. I hope you have an easy trip.

There used to be 3 places I could go for my bloodwork. Now, to my knowledge, there is one place and I do not know how long it will be before I can drive there.

Going to the Drs. tomorrow. Sadly it will probably be the last visit that I will have with this Dr. I/we have an appt. with a DO down here. Not real happy with that, but oh well.

I hope the new doctor is an easy switch Carol.

We woke up this morning to everything covered in snow. The kids were excited....the adults, not so much lol

GB is here with me today.

Supper is cooking, then I'll head out to take GB home. DD was going for groceries after work.

I hope the weather is nice this week. I asked for thick pine boards for my b-day(yup, DH said I was crazy as well lol ) so that I can make a tv stand. I am debating between two styles at the moment. I can't wait to get started. grin

I measure more than twice before I cut once lol

My snow has melted...it is raining a bit at the moment. Not sure what today holds....the two storage sheds sure need a cleaning out though.

I'd be scared to drink that much coffee at once but I could probably do a 24 oz soda lol

My hands are so dry that they are cracking...I really need to invest into a better hand cream. Any recommendations?

I get myself down to a couple fairly normal cups in the morning and then slowly add to it until I'm drinking it all day again.

Junie are they coming to go to church with you? And thanks for the time stamp. It's 11:00 PM EST here right now.

Did I mention here that I found what I think are snake eggs and have them in a jar in the kitchen seeing if they'll hatch? Colt and Aubry are watching with me via face time.

I drink Pepsi and water. I try to drink more water than Pepsi but......

About Church. We went every Sunday when we lived in IL. But here we only go when Valarie and her Family go to the one that Valarie belongs to. We have not changed churches yet. As It is go to Brian's church day, we are not going. He is Catholic, we are not. Not to mention we only have 1 car seat in our car. We would need a van and 4 car seats to take the kids with us to church.

Keep us posted on the snake eggs please.

Goodnight once again !

8:50 pm here.

I was out all day working on my stand...and I am froze. It was in the 30's with a strong wind....I wish I had a heated shed/garage. Oh well, we can't have everything.

Do snake eggs need heat to hatch?

9:01 pm central here.

Are you well enough to put yourself out in such weather all day ? Wouldn't working in the barn be better than out in the open ???

I was wondering about snake tagged needing warmth to hatch as well.hatch

We had everyone here for supper tonight. I figured Val and Brian would be tired after working all day at the dinner. They are home now, and Grandma is in her jammies. anyone

Does anyone know where my 2 winter robes are ?? DH complained about my robes being on my bathroom door, I moved them, and now I cannot find them......anywhere...

Did you ask your DH what he did with them? Maybe he knows what you did with them. I had John get me a full length terry robe for my b-day one year. I'll be darned if he didn't wear it more than I and wear it right out. I made him buy me a new one with my name embroidered on it after he died.
Sweet dreams all.

Good Morning.

No, I did something with the robes When he first said something I took them and threw them in the guest room. I still have not organized that room yet. They were in the way, and I moved them.to where I have no idea.

DH has a cloth robe. Something you would wear say, in the hospital so he is no help. Soon I will buy a new.one. That is a sure way of them showing up LOL.

The grocery store was closed...their system was down. Just as well, I no sooner headed out and DH called. He was cleaning the chimney and the ladder fell. He was up on the roof with no way to get down. It's a good thing I was gone....the ladder fell where I park my car.

My tv stand is almost completed. I moved it into the shed...after moving DH's ATV out lol..... I forgot we had a portable heater here. Tomorrow the stand will be ready to bring in the house.

Yup, a I'll take a pic. I have it in the house and will set it up in a bit.The stand looked smaller outside than in the house lol

I had to take my mom to town for an eye appt. this morning...I picked up my groceries on the same trip. I need to head out and take down the trampoline as well since a major snow storm is on it's way for the morning.

DH is seasoning his BBQ grill grates...my eyes are burning...

I slept 9 hours last night and I am tired...

Bigger is always better, Sunny. You can put a smaller TV on a larger stand but it would be difficult to put a larger TV on a smaller stand.

Sure thing...what if I just plan on you having a cup....or 2 every day ?

Kids asleep, & long story short, everyone of our neighbors are getting new roofs b/c of a storm that went thru the first week of June...bad news is we did not own this house then...no new roof for Carol.

Who pays for the roofs Carol? You should still be entitled under the previous owner.

I have been dealing with power outages all day....this storm is the heavy, wet snow kind. It is a mess. DD just called, her best friend made an accident...we are awaiting news.

The insurance companies pay for the new roofs. Good part is, they cannot raise anyone's rates...considered an act of God or something...so no new roof for Carol.

Prayers for your DD's friend, Sunny.

The friend dislocated her shoulder and will have lots of bruises and sore muscles....she rolled her truck and it is not repairable. I hope she had it fully insured.

Well, Rod showed me a part of my roof where shingles were raised and such , now, the house behind us, and across the road, had damage, their roofs look far better than ours and they are all getting new roofs. Hence I am worried.

I made banana bread tonight. I hope I did not bake it too long.

I love banana bread...send over a slice grin

OHHH Banana Bread, I need to bake some too.. have a lot of froz bananas in my freezer... may be my afternoon project, just finished redoing budget for rest of yr... hubby is now getting social sec so we can cut down what we take out of our IRA's... hopefully it will maintain it's value.....

Hubby is off helping our next door neighbor lady, she is a widow and discovered rats are in her yard, had two fruit trees she never harvested the fruit so it just attracted them as a food source. Joe gave her a couple traps and is cutting the trees down for her.. they aren't very big so it's not to hard .. the rats ate the wiring in her truck, he drove it to the shop for her this morning to be fixed.. hope it isn't to expensive ! She is such a nice lady... few yrs older than me... she just found out she is diabetic and is going to nutritionist soon to see what she has to go to stay healthy...

Well here it is after noon and I haven't even showered … just did breakfast and redid bills and budget figures... so better go and get that done... and start cleaning house... need to vacuum and dust... kind of forgot how dusty desert is …..LOL!

Yes, the desert is very dusty. I damp dust everything so the dust leaves the house with my trash.
Are you expecting a lot of snow, Sunny? Hurricane Willa hit the west coast of Mexico and is now tracking to New England as a nor'Easter.. I don't know where it goes after.

We got over a foot of snow and with the power flickering on and off, it blew my phone/internet box. They had to come and replace it....it was the one electronic that wasn't connected to a surge protector.

It's calling for a freezing rain storm tonight....and the start of Winter has really begun.

Good morning.

Sorry for the storming, Sunny.

I made a box cake yesterday for my DH. I said to beat it for 4 minutes. it sure made more cake mix that way, but it was so crumbly that it almost takes a spoon to eat....I am sure that was because of the excessive beating.

Oh, I hope your power sticks.
I woke at 4am with a headache. But it is gone now with meds. I'm going to feed my boy and then nap. I'm so glad he allows me to do that.

Yes, headaches are tiring.

The snow had turned to rain...now it is turning to freezing rain. I'd rather the snow.

That's good to hear.

DH is home today so we are Winterizing things around the farm. I have everything 'Winter ready' around the house thumbup ....well, except I broke my shovel yesterday with the heavy snow.

I am searching online at the moment for an idea to weld together a heavy duty Christmas tree stand....the store bought ones never last.

If you re talking a real tree, my dad would nail 2, 2 x 4's into an x then somehow he attached the trunk to the x then there was a place for water for the fresh cut bottom of the trunk of the tree,

So many things are not meant to last, planned obsolescence. I have used a buck full of dirt for my last few trees. A metal bucket that I can use after for my hot ashes.. It works for me.

I kept the screws from the old tree stand...I want to weld a pipe to a base to make a sturdy stand. I found a few pics....now to convince DH to let me use the welder.

I keep trying to upload pics from my phone to this computer,,,to share with you...but it says that my 'USB is not supported' why

It's my grandma's recipe:

2 cups light brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup melted butter
1 can evaporated milk

Boil for 18 minutes, remove from heat, add 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tbsp cold butter....then add 1/2 cup peanuts. Leave cool for 10 minutes, then beat by hand for two minutes and pour in pan.

Nope, no chocolate....it is an old 'penuche' recipe.

My chocolate fudge calls for condensed milk instead.

I only had 21 kids at the door...DH will be eating lots of leftover treats.

I love fudge, we generally make it with condensed milk.

Halloween was a long night; 5 gallon bags full of candy after walking 5mi with Trey, and the mall with Aubree...

It must be lovely to have Halloween where the weather is mild. It is too cold here for kids to walk far so it's a drive and wait deal.

I am so excited for the first Christmas craft fair in the area tomorrow. I enjoy talking with the elderly ladies so much...and seeing the crochet and knitting they have done all year. grin

Halloween. I knew I was in trouble when I say a Hayride full of trick or treaters on my road. I had around 120 and had to turn the light off at 7 pm. Kids still came for awhile even with my light off.

Craft fairs...how I am going to miss them. I do so hope my DD appreciates us being here.

I get to go to Wal-Mart today. And DH will be with, so not as much fun as it sounds.

Several years ago i we had a Halloween flood; raining is about as bad of weather as we get... Though we've had a few twisters touch down in recent years (previously was a noon issue in the Willamette Valley).

Trey and I stop trick or treating at 9p then walk home; we left Aubree at my place with my mom after we went to the mall, and when we got back my mom said that despite having the porch lights off we still had at least 30 people ring the doorbell...

The craft fairs here are held by local churches and Legion halls....ask around Carol, there has to be some.

I think the most kids we ever had here was around 80....that was many years ago. There are so many less children now...as we can tell by the three closed local schools. We are down to one school that is in danger of closing since we are down to 89 kids there.

I am sorry..I did not mean to concern you all. I was cleaning out the spare bedroom yesterday after I got home from Wal-Mart then very early this morning My DD called & we all went shopping at the mall. My granddaughters needed new everyday shoes, and their brother needed new dress shoes. Sadly their Grandmother could not find any nice loafers.

My smoke alarms are good. they are all new but 2..and those have new batteries. Thanks though for the reminder.

It has Tina...others are not so lucky. There are over 100,000 people with no power...it might take days to get them back on. The worst part is that it is too windy to make a fire in the wood stove...for fear of chimney fires. I have power at the moment...a mile from me does not. There are trees on houses and power lines on roads. I might have to bring my generator to my mom's if hers stays out any longer.

I hope it doesn't, Sunny. Has the wind eased at all so the crews can begin the clean up and repairs?

Hi all. Power stayed on here...not for others that will have to wait 3 days for the repairs.

I have a well so sometimes I get sand in my water...that plugs the cold water line to my washer. No big deal, I'd unplug, disconnect and clean the brass mesh in the intake. Well, the new washers have a plastic mesh that is not able to be taken out. That should tell you how my morning has gone. Yup...I'm complaining again lol

Yea, sorry for thst, Sunny. I think the companies do not want anyone to work on their appliances or anything really. You are supposed to call a repair man or buy new...It angers me a lot....

Good Morning. We got a bit of a late start.

I tape most of the shows I watch....due to the fact that I am always in bed by 9:30 pm lol

I am really liking the 'Young Sheldon' series...family-friendly shows are few and far between these days.

With all this wind we have been getting this past week....having power has been an option it seems not the norm.

I am attending a Remembrance Day ceremony at GG's school this morning.

We have been getting a lot of wind too Sunny. I think it's supposed to start raining again tomorrow. Sort of tired of the rain.

Oddly, we have not been having a lot of wind for much of Autumn... Usually by now we've got wind storms galore, and they had been coming earlier and earlier every year; but currently we've been having clear days and chilly nights. Way out of the ordinary

We are getting massive winds today. They have backed off tonight. But back tomorrow.
Paradise Ca has pretty much burned to the ground I hear. I'll get better coverage tomorrow. That's about 7 hundred crow-flying miles north of me.
Thousand Oaks Ca had a mass shooting last night. That's about 125 miles from me. It has been a sad day around here.
Sweet dreams all.

I am afraid to look outside. I just saw on the local news (on Facebook) that there is snow. I sure hope not.

Rod and I are driving out to see our Daughter in Virginia tomorrow. we will get there Saturday night and get back home say around the 17th or 18th. If I can get online will see you but if not I will see you all when I return,

good night wavy

I am up still. I got caught up watching news about fires above LA in the roaring winds. So sad.

Have a fun trip Junie.

Tina, I seen your news as well this a.m....they say that 10,000 acres burned overnight.

We are under a wind warning again for the next three days...this is so odd.

Yes, I don't know a lot about what's going on in the rest of the world right now, our news is stuck on fires. Lives have been lost but the good happenings amid the horrors are beginning to leak out as well. I love humanity when it works.
