Junie September wow. It could be any minute. Hope your mother is ok. Sorry ceramics is so far away.

Tina glad you figured out your car situation. And how great to be energized.

Sunny I've read that blueberries are a very good way to start the day. Good for GB.

I'm feeling very special today. A few weeks ago I cut a few hydrangea blooms and stuck them in a vase of water. And I don't remember how long ago, weeks, I cut a couple zinnia stems and stuck them in a vase of water. Today, thinking how good everything still looked, I decided to change the vase water only to find that one of the hydrangea blooms has rooted and 2 of the zinnias have rooted too. Also rooted in one of those vases was 2 pieces of my Christmas cactus. All have been planted in a pot of dirt. Hope they continue to grow.

Too funny...if you were trying to make them into cuttings then it probably wouldn't have worked lol

Yes, that is good news to hear.

GB is still here, he goes home tonight when DD is off work for the weekend. Boys are so much easier to look after than girls...maybe it's just my opinion but I'm sticking with it lol

Good morning. Lots to do today. Mopping my kitchen high on my list for one.

Hi all.

My house needs to be mopped as well.....Play-doh makes the floor slippery.

I cut back some of the trees at DD's last night...whoever thought that planting Jack Pine's in front was a good idea needed to have their head checked. The landlord gave permission to have the limb's within reach cut down. We are hoping that it kills the trees out right.

Good morning. Happy mopping, Sunny.
I am not planning much today. There is a concert in the park and I won't mess with the traffic.
Have a wonderful Saturday all.

I'd stay home as well Tina.

I spent the day with roofing contractor quoting...we are booked for the second week of September. My house has been in need and will not last another hard Winter.

I have seen many a line tree trimmed back. I do not think it will kill them. Sorry to say.

Momma was not so good today. And she is still in ICU. But I guess this will all take time.

Going to go to sleep.now..sweet dreams.

Hope your mother improves quickly Junie.

Eww to the flies Sunny. If heat could kill bugs we"d be bug free after the last week. It"s horrible.

Hello!

As much as I hate winter, at least there are no flies or mosquitoes. So don't say I said so, but yay for Cooke weather!

Thanks for the kind words about Mom. It is very much appreciated.

Hi all...another rainy day here.

School starts tomorrow. GG is nervous about who will be her teacher...this year the school is down to a little over 80 kids. It shall be closed within a few years at this rate.

Not sure what today holds...have a good one.

Good morning. I hope that GG adjusts well, Sunny. I hope all goes well for her. Also hope that her school grows, son you do not have to worry.

I am still going to visit mom. I will be going home tomorrow. While I would love to be here to continue to see mom, I am beginning to feel like I am imposing on my sister. Plus I need to get back to watching my granddaughters.

I wish you all a good day.

Junie, it does seem after about 3 days, while not wanting to admit it, people are ready for you to go home. That didn't come out the way I mean for it too exactly but I've been on both ends of that situation (for emergencies) and it just seems 3 days just about does it even when it can't be helped and everyone loves everyone else. Even going to Ginger's, it depends on how big her house is, if I can stand to stay longer than 3 days. If I have space to be able to have a minute alone I can do longer. I hope your mother recovers quickly and you don't feel stressed by being pulled in different directions.

Sunny, where are all the school children going? That happened to one of my schools when I worked as a school nurse. It's an inner city school and was historically almost 100% black but when the Mexicans came in full force most of the black kids left and when I retired there were less than 400 kids at that school. Not sure how many there are now. I've always wondered where the black students went.

The symphony is on the grounds at Wingate University tonight. Think I might go.

There are just less children being born...and more people moving away. There were 4 schools here when I was a child, then down to two when DD was school age. Now we are down to just one. In three years, there will be no school they think. Then we will have to ship all the kids to the school an hour from here. How that will work in the Winter is going to be a mess.

Gb is on the phone with me right now telling me he is all done with going to 'tay care' lol

Sunny your GB and Colt would get along fine. Colt is all done with school too and when I mentioned college one day he freak out - "more school after all this!!!! I can't believe it" is what he said.
One of my sisters lived rurally and had a long drive to take her children to school. She tried home schooling for a while and decided it was not for her. They lived in Virginia so had many days of bad weather but nothing like you. Can't imagine your drive in your weather.

Mom has been transferred to a different room. There will still be more care than in a regular hospital room, but she will not be requiring as much care as in the ICU.

I am going home tomorrow. Do not mind going home, but do not wanna be away from momma. She says well, we can talk on the phone.....when I get to have my phone....

Sweet Dreams!

I think her home phone isn't hooked up yet Tina.

GB is 3...the good thing is that this year they take him from his day care room to a pre-school class for two hrs a day. It will break up the routine a bit.

GG is off to school...Grade 3 this year.

I need to mow my grass or I should say weeds today.

Sunny is right...I have no home phone..We just have cell phones right now

. BUT it is momma who does not have a phone.

1) they have issues with things walking away in hospitals..

.2) like with her hearing aides...if she wears them while in bed, and they fell out, they could get wasted up in her sheets when they change them and no one would ever see them again.

I wish everyone a great day.

Junie what is happening with your mother? Did she break bones in the wreck? Does your mother live alone? They are more than correct about things being lost at the hospital. Happened all the time when I worked in a hospital and we had more staff than they do now. Nowadays I'm sure the sheets are yanked off and the bed changed quickly because it has to be completed so fast. Speaking of the hospital, when I worked in one, the sheets were changed and bathes given daily. Now the rule is twice a week if the patient stays that long. A church member had to go to rehab for a broken knee and she didn't have a shower in her room. She was there 5 weeks and got 2 showers only because her daughter pitched a fit. Healthcare ain't what it used to be. Got off on a tangent there. Sorry.

We have a home phone only because it's part of the internet bundle we got years ago and it won't save any money to discontinue it. No one, except telemarketers use it though :)

Hi !

Sheri: My mom has osteoporosis really bad. she has 2 cervical fractures--hangmans & lamnia. then she has 6 broken ribs and a broken sternum.. car went nose first in to a deep deep ditch.

she is better it will just take a long while to recover. and yep my mom lost 1 hearing aide..I told her she would but she insisted she wear them while in bed. and yes the Dr saud to get her out asap as hospitals were "Germy"

I want a land line phone so if I have an emergency I can call for help---with a call phone, if the weather is bad of I am out of charge or there is no electricity i am SOL

Hi Tina. I'm here. Johnny didn't get out of here until late and I've been doing a few things around the house.

Can we start time stamping our posts again because I can't tell what day we're on.

Bless your mother's heart Carol. Sounds so painful. Will her insurance pay for another hearing aide? At least she wears hers. I know so many people who have them but refuse to wear them for one reason or another. It's difficult to talk to someone who can't hear well.

Our phone is connected to our internet so if the power goes out so does our phone. I found out when I was doing a little work from home that we can't even get a real landline. The only company that supposedly offers that around here is Frontier Communications and they're out of MA. They have an office but it's called an "unmanned office" so I'm not sure what the point of having it is. I called them a gazillion times to get service and they never showed up so I just ended up plugging into my internet service. Evidentially it's a problem because the higher ups had to "bend the rule" to allow employees to use internet service because there are a lot of people who can't find a land phone service.

From the sounds ofbit, the hospital is going to replace the hearing aide. My brother has to do some paperwork or some such. I told her if she wore them while laying down this would happen.... But then what do I know...lol

Girls in bed 1 hour late. That is no problem except that they will be asleep when their mom comes to pick them up. Oh well...
