94° today and dry. This is early to not be able to go outside. It's supposed to drop to the 80's tomorrow and then rain Wednesday. I sure hope so. I can't stand the heat.

3 truckloads later the garage is almost empty. And it is empty enough to allow Rod to put his truck away so the predicted hail is not a problem.

Things just seem to multiply in a garage. I wish I could fill a truck in DH's storage shed....it takes forever to find exactly what I want in there.

Morning all,

Hi, was gone for weekend to PNX to see MIL , and inlaws MIL is over 100 now and still hanging in. she has dementia but will know us for a few min sometimes... hubby got to play golf one day with his brothers and bilaw so that was good for him, he told me I could go to Apple store and get a new I pad for Mothers Day... so got a Pro... love it! big enough for my book collection and for me to see easily...not much heavier than one I had the kids gave me, will last till I don't know how to use it anymore I hope!
Its so nice here, getting warmer but cools off at dark nicely... I am getting so walking doesn't kill me so starting to take walks again too... maybe take off some more weight.. that would be nice for sure... well gotta go... got to shop before it gets to hot... and haven't even made my bed yet.... LOL! Have a good day all!

Nana: glad that you are feeling better & kudos on the nice Mother's day gift !

Yes no storms today here so I got to ceramics--I so love Tuesdays....and yes we donated 1 truckload to a church thrift store, and then the other 2 truckloads to Goodwill.

sorry for your storage shed, Sunny. Sometimes I wonder where all the stuff we accumulate comes from......

My arm and shoulder is aching....I knew I did too much. Middle age is not for sissy's haha

DH still has a cough. He isn't as cranky so...he must be on the mend.

It is a cold day here. It's snowing to the West of us....hoping it stays there.

8:56 AM EST

Where is Tina with my good Wednesday morning to start my day off right?

Sunny I'm middle age in dog years. Sorry your shoulder is aching but hopefully you got it all raked. Like your DH I still have a cough. It seems everyone I know has a cough. It just won't go away.

We got some much needed rain and the temperature has dropped a little. I'm so glad but I forgot to put my little tomato seedlings back in the little greenhouse so I don't know what I'm going to find out there this morning. They may have all blown to kingdom come. I have enough tomato plants already planted but for some reason these seeds are taking longer to get big enough. Wonder why some seeds want to be so contrary.

Good to see you post here Nana. That's a nice gift. I have an ipad but I don't know what kind it is. Johnny bought it for me. I love it. I haven't loaded books on it. Do you use it like a Kindle?

Hello/ Yes about the cough--I have heard people say it hangs on for months.

Sheri, I hope your tomato seedlings survived the winds/rain. I think different varieties grow at different rates...we will hope they are ok when you can check on them.

I was all packed up to take another load to the thrift shop. BUT now I am waiting to hear back from a DRs. office. They have my DH's insurance messed up and they will not call me back.. GRRRRR

Today, if I ever get to get out of here, I am going to buy enough flowers to fill the pot I keep on the front porch. Curb appeal you know.....

Afternoon,

Just finished up middle of month bill paying... Yay have extra money! Yes Sheri, I have all my books on the IPad,, it's really more like a small laptop it has so many new features on it... got a bag yesterday so I can carry it safely .. won't have to lug my laptop with me when we go out of town anymore...

Congrats Junie on getting organized before moving, we gave so much stuff away at last minute since our uhaul and vehicles wouldn't hold anymore.. even filled the ones we towed and still gave stuff away I would have like to keep but oh well... hubby is a hoarder so he is already starting to replace his "stuff" LOL! lots of garage sales in our new neighborhood.. and lots of ex military families or retirees... I got a casserole type dish blue and white.. with a lid for 5 dollars last week... hand made in Poland... it is so pretty! and he found a old wooden ladder that I can going to clean up and restain so I can add shelves and put my Christmas village on it this year... or at least some of it...

Well have to go get ready to go grocery shopping . it will be hot but slept in this morning , both of us... retirement is making us both lazy I guess.... LOL!

Have a wonderful day all!
Nana

Good afternoon.

I just got back from taking the car load to the thrift shop & then to a local nursery. Boy the price of plants have sure gone up. Plus it seems they do not have small plants this year--all are in larger more expensive pots. I did find a few smaller/less expensive of what I wanted...but boy I can remember when the kids were small, 2 full boxes of flowers were just under $20.00. now 1 box 3/4 full was twice that....times how they are achangin'. why
Good news is I was able to find just what I wanted for the pot that will stay on my front porch to be used as curb appeal.

Hi all.

I am 'itching' to go flower shopping as well. Walmart always has great deals on small annuals, Junie. I find the nursery has better flowers but at ten times the price.

Not sure what today holds...it is cold and windy outside. Have a good one. flwr

The flowers I just bought are about all that I will buy, but if I find I need to add to my flower bed in the back, I will definitely go to Wal-Mart.

Staying home today.

Good morning. I'm not buying flowers or plants of any kind right now. There is a drastic need in my yard but I need to repair my water system first. Drought did much damage here.

yes, I can understand that, Tina----there is time yet--first things first.

I just finished planting the flowers I did buy...and they all fit perfectly. If I had of used the larger pot that I usually use, I would have needed the 1 plant that I bought for me. (a tri-colored sweet potato vine) but as it is, it is perfect. When it fills in it will be nice indeed. I will take a photo soon.

Is piping the problem Tina? I hope it is an easy/cheap fix.

I decided to go get a few groceries at the local store...it's a quick way to get rid of $100 with little to show for it. It is too cold to do anything outdoors today.

Tina ditto on the hoping it's an easy and inexpensive fix.

Junie I've read that having a few flowers outside helps sell a house.

I got some green peas from the garden today. That's all because it's damp and dreary out there. I need to go to the grocery store.

Tina: I agree with Sunny & Sheri.

Sheri: I have read that as well, and that is the reason why I made up the large pot.

No, my problems are not with my underground plumbing so much. That seems to be holding up well. But beyond the the faucets, I use various drip systems and micro-sprinklers, etc. They've fallen prey to critters looking for water and stuff and it is more than I can do right now.

I sent the day out with my cousin..then when I got home I had a nap.

Sunny, a trampoline---you are a good Grammy.

Dodge: sorry for your rain & tire loss. I hope you get dryer weather soon and are able to get the wagon fixed as well.

What kind of tire, Barb?

My snow is gone....as of today. Can you see me smiling? lol

I spent five hours outside doing yard work. I set up two old wooden wagon wheels against the house in two different flower beds. Things are just poking out of the ground....my daffodils on the South side of my house are ready to bloom.
