Weather is cooler here than I am used to for my visits, but might be normal, not sure. Tina maybe you can tell me if this cooler weather is normal for this time of year?

Bestofour...I suffer from depression, runs in our family. Depression can affect you in different ways, some days you just have no energy or "get up and go". Sometimes I can feel just fine, then it is like someone poured a bucket of molasses on my head and I can feel it just run down my body and consume me. I used to take antidepressants, but decided to learn to deal with it and do pretty good most times. I can say that i read somewhere that you can have problems with your work life, or problems with your personal life and deal with it, but if you have problems in both personal and work lives at same time, that is hard to navigate through. My personal life is usually always ok. It is my work life that is so hard and I can wake up in the middle of the night thinking about a work problem and that is the end of my sleep.

So Junie, do you have any problems that you are laying awake thinking of? I do that wake up and can't go back to sleep a lot if work is bad. So I take a Tylenol PM sometimes, if I know I have "work related" problems because I know I will just wake up and start worrying. Being tired and trying to deal with any unpleasant situation is really hard.

Well back to work. Have a wonderful Thursday to all. Missed you guys, just working hard!

I have actually seen it snow here in April. Once, 20 something years go. It is good you got here this week. It was colder last week and all month. This is the first day I felt like moving.
I cleaned my fridges. And took my self off to the dumpster.

Sheri, do not feel guilty. I am not what you would call a good housekeeper. You can come to my house, & not worry about my bathroom or the beds or dishes & food.. but I am not a organizer or a duster.I just did this extra b/c I had the realtor coming.

Mary: Sometimes I have issues I think about & cannot go back to sleep--but I think this is inherited (some) as the older my uncle got the less he slept at night-- and some is a new med I am on---I have always had to go to bed late so I can sleep until the proper time to get up...but since this new med, if I wake up at any point to use the bathroom, I am done sleeping. as long as I do not do that 2 nights in a row, I can get by. No Tylenol PM for me..I have to watch what meds I take.

I finally got myself up, cleaned a little, and went to the grocery store.

mj, I think you told once before but I forgot - what type of work do you do?

I decided to send a card to the graduate. Even though she has no idea who I am it's a good thing that she graduated from high school and I hope she has a great life from here on out.

Junie that picture on FB is precious. He's the cutest little man.

Sheri, the child singing is Nora (I am pretty sure). and the one with a Paci in her mouth is Heidi.

Henry LOVES his sisters...but Valarie & her DH are trying promote a special bond between Henry & Heidi as Nora & Cora are often joined at the hip & leave Heidi to her own.
Not to give the wrong impression, as if Heidi has a problem they will both run to help her, but still it is often good to have 2 & 2.

Nora was singing "Rock A Bye Baby." and Val thinks that is an awful song as the baby falls down...IMO the song is not the point--I think that the girls were impressed that I sang to them, and so were singing too---Mommy does not sing...well she says she does not...but then so did her sister & I caught her singing to one of her boys.
BUT that video makes this Grandma's heart sing.

Good choice about the graduation.

A word about my dumpster. There are 3 of them available to me. They are about 5 1/2 feet tall. I'm 5'8" Taking the trash out is not my favorite thing to do. If I have a large bag it is almost impossible to get it in. If they are smaller bags, it is easier. I tend to put it off until I can't stand it any more. That makes it a job. One I don't like .A year ago, when I had a frozen shoulder, it was really hard. And the nearest one needs car trip..

We are getting freezing rain today.

I spent the day taking DD to the hospital. She had a root canal done that has turned to an abscess. Her face is so swollen...it looks awful. They gave her antibiotics but if the swelling continues to go back for an intervenous treatment. She just started a new job on Monday...this was the last thing she needed at the moment.

So I now have the grandboy here for a few days...and he is making it quite clear that he is not happy that his sister lives with us.

Jonni is about 5'3" and 110 pounds. That being said, she does her fair share.

I cleaned out 2 cabinets & a drawer this morning. Now I will go to the grocery to buy items to take to a family dinner we are having tomorrow.

Jonni is my dinkiest child. Even Teddy is an inch or so taller than she. The rest of my family is slightly taller than norm.

dodge sent me some rudbeckia seeds and I planted them this afternoon. She also sent some red poppy seeds that I went ahead and spread but it may be too early for them. We shall see.

Dodge sent me some Purple Lupine and some Zinnia seeds. I will save them for when I move...

The sun is shining again...it is a welcome sight. I have to go pick up DD later and drop them off at my mom's...the Easter bunny always visits them at my mother's. I get to have a night to myself later.

I just finished the first 7 layer salad that I have ever made... my DH was so excited to eat it. He said but then what is not to like about bacon as an ingredient. He is right. My family party is this afternoon. IT is rainy (off on) & cool here, "They" say that it will snow here tomorrow. some forecasters say accumulation, some forecasters say no accumulation. It is good that the family get together is today.

Today I found out that my daughter who lives in Virginia, went with my nephew (her cousin who is stationed out in DC) to see their great uncle (My dad's brother.)..he is the one living sibling out of 12.
I am so glad that they got to meet him. He is a great guy who has a Doctorate & used to write curriculums for universities.
He was employed by the University of Maryland.

I am home now....

Junie, I posted about my seeds from dodge in the flower forum so I can keep us posted about if they bloom or not. I don't think I've ever made a 7 layer salad but I sure do love eating one. Something about the combination is so good and refreshing.

Sunny, you probably won't know how to act with a night to yourself. Stay out of trouble :)

Tina, did I read that you're 5'8"? Shelley is 5'8 1/2" and she's the tallest woman in our family. We're a bunch of short people.

We had our church Easter egg hunt today and play practice. It was from 11-3, about an hour too long.

I am actually 5' 7 1/2". .

Sheri: I like the 7 layer salad as well. However next time I make one I will use vidalia onions or leeks...even red onions are too strong once they sit awhile.
4 hours does seem like a lot. Was it the last practice? in that case I could understand a practice that was that long.


I am watching "The Ten Commandments" The original one with Charlton Heston. When it first came out Mom took us to the Drive-In to see it.
and I have a problem with that. if it was made in 1956,,,I was 4 then--and I know we were living in our 2nd house & we moved there when I was 6.....but oh well...perhaps it was a re-release.

I spent the night at the hospital with g-boy and his 104.5* fever....today I have two sick grandkids with gastro. The Easter bunny really played a April Fool's on us all.

OH MY !! I am so very sorry. It is bad enough when anyone is sick, and sick enough to end up in the hospital--BUT when it is a little one, it is worse..they are too young to completely understand. I do so hope the Grands feel better soon and that they do NOT share.

it does not sound like a very nice Easter. But I guess there is next year.

Oh, Sunny. I am sorry. I hope they get well quickly.

Just spent 4-1/2 hours trying to download photos to shutterfly--I was done & then lost them all....& had to begin again...

Thanks for the well wishes...it seems all we do is deal with virus's here. It has been a bad Winter for 'bugs'. They just shut down one of the hospitals for visitation because of a mumps outbreak.

The kids seem a bit better today...fevers have gone down.

I need to hit the laundry baskets today.

Well I got 4 hours sleep last night, but hey I got a bit more cleaned out & my pictures ordered. Well all but the ones of the girls & their brother.

I hosed the pollen off the screened in porch today. It's nice sitting out there this time of year.

Our Postman came 1 hour late this morning. I am thinking that they all began 1 hour later than usual.

I envy you your weather, Sheri. I am nowhere near being able to think about such as screened in porches. Not that I have one, but even if I did it is far too cold her yet to be thinking about such as the outdoors yet.

tomorrow I am going to take my Mom to a Drs. appt. then on to ceramics. snow today & tomorrow it is forecasted to be around 67*F. Lordy I sure dislike Illinois for its weather changes.

Great...Great....it is foggy..and there will be hail this afternoon. So I will get to go to some ceramics, after I take Mom to the Dr. But I am probably going to have to come home and not go to lunch to avoid getting my car plummeted with hail while I am out to lunch.

well the good news is that I got to go to lunch and that we missed the hail.. I have been home 30 minutes & we have just begun to get heavy rain. We shall see what happens next.

Aubry and I went to the movie and Target today. She had $55.00 and Johnny gave her $10.00 so she spent 65.00 on stuff she doesn"t need. At first I tried to direct her spending but then I figured if Shelley sent her with it I wasn"t going to fight her. It"s not junk to her. She bought clothes for her American doll and paid $8.00 for some type of squishy peach stress reliever. Then we looked up DIY projects on the computer. She loves doing DIY projects. We sat on the screened porch. Fun day.

Colby had a well appointment. He"s 5"5” and weighs 133 pounds. I think that"s the 70th percentile. Good.

Today is my Valarie's 38th birthday. We will see her this coming weekend.

Hi all. I spent the day yesterday running the grands to doctor and dentist appt's.

School was cancelled again...another storm day. We are getting a nasty one for this time of year...over 16 inches of snow for today. It feels like spring will never get here.

Well, that sucks, Sunny. I hope it is followed by thaw.

Hi all.

Sheri, have they still not found a reason for the dizzy spells? Hope today is better.

We got another two feet of snow. It took me an hour to dig out my car and now my hand snow blower is acting up. I think the storms we get are too much for it to handle. I need to start the tractor to deal with it all later...I have more snow now then we dd all Winter....you can't even see the houses from the road.

I'd move in a heartbeat if I was able....I am 45 going on 80 lately.

Sheri feels better. When Shelley was 2 years old I got an inner ear infection that laid me up for 2 weeks and I've had dizzy spells since. Sometimes I need an antibiotic and sometimes not. I sort of think yesterdays issue was more of a sinus thing though because it was overcast and damp. Who knows. But I'm better. Thanks for being concerned.

Sunny, I keep saying it but I CAN NOT imagine.

Hi all.

Thanks for the sympathy on the snow. I just feel so frustrated and 'blue'...I could just sit and cry. I think the thought of having to deal with this in later years is affecting me more than the situation at the moment.

Before the snow would melt in April...we'd get a few small storms into May that would melt in a day or two. We are at the first of April and have more snow than we have ever had, that I can remember. Snow for this afternoon and tomorrow with another brewing for Tuesday.

My windows need to be shoveled out but I am too discouraged to even start....bare with me 'venting' for a few weeks.

Vent away, Sunny. You deserve it. Does anyone there make a seasonable living shoveling snow off roofs and windows and things?

Thanks for listening. I feel better today...I guess I was just overwhelmed yesterday. I just needed a good cry and to stop feeling sorry for myself. My BIL now has a roof leak and my mom's friends garage fell in from the snow this week. I guess they have the reason to feel blue...not me.

Sheri, a few men make a good share of $$ with snow removal. Some do driveways, others do steps, windows and roofs. It is a must for everyone to move the snow or you'd never get out of the house.

I did get out yesterday for groceries and treated myself to a little 4 inch ivy plant from the grocers. It made me smile so I figured it was cheap therapy.

It is storming out at the moment again.
