8:18am 3/13 Where is everyone? By now when I am looking, there are at least 3 or 4 of you awake and talking away and probably on their 3rd cup of coffee...  Well I really am not a fan of the time change, spring forward. Or let me say my body is not a fan. I am absolutely geared to the normal time and not DST. I love the late sunlight, but when I wake up at 6am, my body KNOWS it is 5am. It is really hard for me to get going and I just never seem to catch up to that hour I am missing. Oh well, I have never been an early morning person. 7 - 7:30, is fine with me, but 5am to 6:30am is for sleeping. Good thing I didn't grow up on a farm. Well when you sleepy heads get up and read this, remember I was the first one to wish you all a bright, sunshiny and warm day!

I had errands to accomplish today and it seems everyone else in the world needed to be every place I needed to be. I hate crowds especially when they're in my way :)
I had a 6 month exam at the doctor Friday and he prescribed an allergy med for me to take as needed. I have been so sleepy lately that on Sunday and yesterday I took a loooong afternoon nap which I rarely do. I slept until 9:20 this morning. Figured out last night. after taking it, that I've been taking the allergy med rather than my thyroid med for the last 3 days. They both start with Levo and,, as never before my thyroid medicine came in a blue bottle that has the paper stuck on top that has to be pulled off to open it (like a Motrin bottle) so I saw the Levo and figure it was the new medicine. Wrong. They are both white and scored in the middle.
It is cold and windy today and Colby has a ballgame that I'm going to try to watch. It it's too cold I'm not staying. Then it's off to book club meeting.

I had a busy day. Groceries, deep clean of the house and storm prep. We are supposed to get hit bad again...I need May to be around the corner.

It was about ten years ago that Teddy's kneecap fell off. It slid to the outside of his leg whenever he bent his leg. The right one followed about a year later.. His primary doctor decided to have him checked out again.

I am glad that the doctor follows up with Teddy...that must have been painful.
School is cancelled again...strong winds with 14 to 18 inches of snow to fall. It is going to be a good day to get some baking done. GB had a follow up hearing test that was cancelled as well. Every appt...it storms.
My mother called. She had her roof re-shingled a few years ago from damage caused by snow not being shovelled. She never learned her lesson....now she has leaks in the kitchen, living room and above a window. I am so frustrated...she is leaving her house go to ruination ad spending all her money on gambling(bingo/cards) and lottery tickets.

Yes I am sorry too, Sunny. I would have liked to think she would have learned the last time she had to replace her roof. Esp. since she is reminded by seeing you shovel your roof & keep things up. Oh well, I guess it is what it is.

We had snow flurries this morning. Very windy. Right now it's 44 but it feels so cold because of the wind.
Johnny's brother is a gambler too and doesn't have 2 nickels to rub together. He wins big sometimes but can't stop until he ends up with nothing. Sad.

Sunny, That is entirely too much snow. No wonder you complain. I would too. I am just too much a warm weather person to deal with that much snow for that long. Junie, it is going to be in the 70's here too, in fact it is right now. I have my front door open and my back door, so the air will circulate throughout the house. And like you, it will start getting cold again, but i will take it while I can. Well i am off work now, it is 5p..need to go start dinner. Cooking something soft as my DH has an abscessed tooth and I cannot get him to go to the dentist. Crazy, i just don't understand it. About the only thing we argue about is his health and his lack of interest in doctors. Well will check in later...Ta Ta!

about an hour ago I started feeling like I had a cold---Gracious I hope I do not---I have been taking Emergence and vitamin C drops since.
I really cannot be getting sick..."Grandma" cannot take cold medicine...
Good news is I have all the Easter Candy bought and aprons for the kids for egg dying.

Tomorrow I'll be gone for the day. I am helping at a Science Fair that GG has been nominated to attend. It's an hour drive and we have to be there for 8:30 am....it will make for a long day. Oh well, at least I can do the Easter shopping at Walmart on the same trip.

Junie, be careful, my flu started off as a cold and the funny thing about it, I didn't feel bad with it for about 2-3 days, then whamo, it hit me!
Well today is Saturday and my DH has been working on a new deck out back. Today we are going to move bushes from front yard to back. So off I go!

You guys are so nice, Like old home. I did the facebook thing for several years and found it cold and depressing. So much anger sometimes, and really I am too old for all that. just like to talk gardening and things. I am old fashioned. Weather has been good this winter, not bad at all, we have no snow, it was 50 today, I hope it is a gradual warm up and we do not get too warm too fast, and then get a freeze in April. happened a few years back and killed the fruit crop in most of the state. You cannot tell the apple and peach trees that it is not time to bloom, There had been several days of 70s, end of march, then we got a hard freeze the first week of April. I like the cool springs, not too warm, but warm enough. I am itching to get out and start doing things. So nice to know this place is still around. Thanks for making me feel welcome! Kim

Hi ditchy. I"m on FB too but I"ve stopped following so many people due to their political rants, filthy language, or hatefulness that I have only a handful of FB friends left. Who needs that. There are a lot of advertisements on my page now. Seems a lot of people are using FB for business rather than pleasure. I joined to see what my grand children are doing and to look at their pictures so that"s what I do on there.
I got a card from dodge. She wrote she got scammed on the internet which made her son mad and he took her computer. She says hi to everyone.

Hello. Good Sunday afternoon. We lost our internet last night, or I would have been in to say goodnight.
I have the 3 girls this afternoon as Val & her little guy are coloring eggs with her cousin. Heidi decded that she was not going to sleep. Now one of the other girls.

Kids just left. I am always sad when they do.
Good news a that the cold is going away.
Sheri, I too joined FB to see what was going on with my kids. I delete all kinds of political posts..well the ones from organizations. The ones from actual friends of mine I ignore.
Glad that you heard from Dodge. I sent her a card also but as long as you heard from her, so am ok.

Junie more power to you for keeping the 3 girls. Seems when I have 2 of the younger ones they do ok but adding a 3rd, even if it's Colby who is 15, messes things up and they all just argue.

LOL Funny you should say that, Sheri.
When my Valarie brought home the identical twins of the 3 girls (they were home a month before the fraternal triplet came home) she said caring for the 2 of them was a piece of cake, but putting the third into the mix made it a lot different & a lot harder. They are very good girls though. The 2 identical girls are generally joined at the hip..but if, like today, they hear their sister--they get concerned & they both just took off to check on her. it did my heart good to see it.
They were no problem..and I am used to it as we go down to Val's to babysit a lot.
They called me Mamaw today---I hope it sticks

10:32a 3/19 Thanks for the info Junie and yes, James I do love this site so thank you! Worked in the yard all day Saturday. When I started I thought, "well this ain't so bad, should be done in a couple of hours" Hmph!!  How crazy was I for thinking that! About 6 hours later I crawled up my front steps and into the living room floor! It has taken me until today to be able to move without hurting in some spot on my body! Wow, I just don't think I am old enough to feel that bad... Well back to work for me. Everyone have a great day!

I'm not sure winter is gone mj. My sister has 6 inches of snow on the ground today after having 70 degree temps yesterday. Right now at my house it's thundering and lightening and pouring rain.

8:28a 3/21 Well it is 38 degrees here this morning, supposed to get to 55. It is supposed to get to 75 by Sunday and sunny. We shall see. Bestofour, I feel for your sister with 6" of snow. You are right, winter is not over for a lot of us, but I am hoping it is for me! Sunny, It sounds like no snow for you and some of you guys are living this "snow thing" one day at a time! Well I go to California next week. Fly in Sunday and come home the following Saturday. Those are always long, long days, as I am in the office at 6am. My boss has been sick, keep him in your prayers please, so he will not be in. And what that means is I will probably be going into Los Angeles to see him a few times while i am there. He will be at UCLA Hospital running test. Well back to work. Everyone have a wonderful day and I am hoping outside your window is as bright and sunny as it is outside mine!

Good late morning. I have just finished helping Rod throw away old appliance instructions...as well as home remodel papers. So I guess the cleaning has begun.

Oh JunieGirl, I am so sorry. I remember as a little girl, when I visited my grandparents on the farm, if my grandpa was made and throwing a fit, my grandmother would start singing old sweet songs and ignore him. He would get so mad, that he would finally shut up and stomp off. Do you know any old sweet songs?

2:55p 3/22 I forget to put the time/date sometimes, but i see the weirdest times people are commenting, so makes me think the time stamp still may be wrong. And what do you guys call each other? I see some people answer back with the persons real name, which for the most part, I don't know them and some answer back with the member name. Is there a certain etiquette ? i wouldn't want to offend someone by using their real name. Just wondering.

3:41 pm. first, remember we are in a lot of different time zones here on the forum. But yes sometimes the time stamp does mess up. That is why I suggested we type in the time when we post--it is not a rule, just a suggestion to use if it helps a person. second, it depends on the person what we call them. There are people who want to use their forum names--like Sunny and Nana. There are others like say me or Bestofour that will answer to whichever you call us. I guess the best way for you is to PM the person ask them what they prefer. You will soon just do it all correctly as a matter of course.

Junie have you set a date for moving?
We have been at Ginger's. Colt was in a musical and had 2 ball games while we were there. He made a home run. He didn't actually HIT a homeroom but he did make a home run due to over throws the others made.
It's sleeting tonight. At the beginning of last week we had thunder and lightening, horrible wind and rain. So tonight's menu is for sleet.

DH's birthday was yesterday...then after his 'party', I had to take DD shopping. It was a long day but the grands had fun.

Yes Sheri, I use a gel coal tar formulation called Psoriasin. It stinks but works well. It is strange because usually a large flare up like this follows a major sickness. Maybe this ongoing sinus cold is more than I think.
The sun is shining but it is freezing this a.m. It's a good day to stay in and do laundry and mopping.

IHello.
I made myself go back to sleep for 90 minutes around 8 am. now I still have had only 5-1/2 hours sleep but at least the last was at a normal time...
I just came back thru the rain from mailing my Easter box to my DD & Grandsons in Virginia. wow is it wet !!

I am not only ready for Easter, last night I ordered my grandson his clothes f or his Birthday. I have a toy but I finished with clothes. I found buy one get two free, so I got him more than I normally would.
Going to take my mom to get Rs. Appt today. It seems that the Drs. all got together and decided that Tuesday is their favorite day to work........

She used to call and say she'd picked up my gift for me and tell me how much I owed her. After that comment from Darbi I quit paying her and she stopped buying for me and I never give clothes unless Darbi or Colby specifically ask for something. I certainly see Shelley's point because they always need clothes, but I see Darbi's point too. Now that Darbi and Colby are older they usually get money for big events and an iTunes card for Easter and Halloween.
What do you do when you receive high school graduation invitation from out of state from the child of a people you've never met in person? Someone who used to be on an internet site but left the site 2 or 3 years ago. Send a congrats card? Or would you send a gift too? Or since you've had no contact with this person for 2 or 3 years would you ignore it?
Sunny, my ex husband used to use a tar shampoo and wash his entire body in it. It smelled a tiny bit but it wasn't bad. I don't remember it being prescription but it might have been.

Sheri, if it were me I'd ignore the invite....or if I sent a card, there would certainly be no gift included.
This year I bought the kids a hollow chocolate egg, a small toy($3 on clearance) and pj's for Easter. We spoil kids these days...as a child we were lucky to get a chocolate hen.

for Easter I sent a small book or toy to the 3 boys in Virginia. I will buy the 3 girls in MO a water-type coloring toy that the 3 can share. Have not decided about Henry as of yet. The everyone got a bit of candy--and a few tiny toys--bubbles/tiny cars/$1.00 books.
about clothes for the kids--
Henry recently told his Mom that he does not look as nice as his "Missies" do when they dress up. So, His Mom picked out a toy that he wanted for me to give (I would rather that as I do not know what he has or likes very well) then since he made the clothes remark I bought him a baseball appliqued shorthall and a red polo shirt to go with it. I will have his name & a baseball & bat appliqued onto the shirt. Then I hit a buy 1 get 2 free sale & got him a very nice 4th of July shirt, a pair of blue shorts. & a green shirt with a dinosaur on it. He LOVES green & Dinosaur's are the flavor of the month right now.
So I get what you are saying but with 4 little ones to dress, I try to help out when I can in that area. Like for Christmas I buy their dress shoes & the other Grandma buys their every day shoes for fall.
And yes we do spoil our kids/grandkids, but hey, I would rather spend my money on the kids than myself.

Sheri: The other night I went to sleep at 11:30.I woke up to use the bstjroom. After I got back in bed, My mind would not shut down. That me not being able to go back to sleep after I wake to use the bathroom is common, esp. the older I get. The main reason I stay up so late is so that I can sleep into the morning. If I go to bed day at 9 or 10, I tend to wake at 3 or 4 and then my body will not go back to sleep.

Hi all. I am getting freezing rain at the moment, to be followed by snow....there is no school again today.

Junie you can never go wrong with dinosaurs. I think Colby has every color shirt with some type of dinosaur on the front. I find it's hard to find cute boy clothes sometimes. I think "misses" is cute. My sister has the same sleep situation. She goes to sleep without a problem but wakes up sometime during the night and can't get back to sleep and sometimes she falls back asleep right before she has to get up for work. She says it's beginning to wear her down.
Sunny, I feel for you having all that snow. We get all excited when we get flurries but I can't imagine the amount you've had this year.
Tina glad for your nice weather. It's sunny here today but still windy which makes it feel a lot colder than the 60° it is.
