One or 2 lady bugs here...and yes they ARE icky & nasty.

I used a marker this afternoon to mark out writing in a shipping box--it is currently in the garage & yet the house smells bad--that is super yuk !

drying the last of my clothes, then I will go to sleep.

Tomorrow there will be haircuts, a routine blood test, and then we are going to Valarie's house for the weekend.

We had a few Asian lady bugs here this Fall....I heard they stink when crushed.

I am still on budget with Christmas. I was smart last year and started putting aside $10 a week in an envelope right after. One doesn't notice that little amount and it adds up nicely. I heard on the news that one should never spend more than 2% of our 'gross' income on Xmas. Great advice that we follow.

DH just got called in to work...the roads are like a skating rink from the freezing rain that fell through the night. I am hoping the weather clears so that we can take the grands out to cut our Xmas tree

Good morning. I got caught up in the news this morning. I will go out today and get some things done. The good news is that I've gotten a great deal of my outdoor labor completed with the help of my new worker, Mark. It has been tough this past year or so.

I am so glad that you have a good worker to help out Tina...it must be a relief.

We went to cut our tree yesterday, Grandboy was so confused over the whole adventure. We took the tree home, put it in the stand to thaw....only to find out my stand was leaking. Thankfully my SIL lent us hers since she will be going to her son's for the month and won't be decorating at her house.

So a new stand gets added to next years 'to do' list. I plan on getting DH to make one from steel.

Sunny-I am so glad that you got your Christmas tree cut and in the house. I do agree..a hand made Tree stand will be ever so much better---and will last much longer as well.

a few of us were going to take my mom Christmas shopping tomorrow but it seems my sister is not feeling well, so that will happen some other day...perhaps.

GG was up all night with her head in a bucket...the fevers have finally broken. She certainly seems to collect virus's.

We did get the tree decorated though.

it is raining hard just now. There may well be storms, so I am turning off the computer here in a very few moments.

Yes I had a good time at ceramics. I finished a 3 pc. Caroling snowmen set. Now I have to wait to spray them with sealer.
Now I am on to putting chalks on my duck bloomer. Then it will get sprayed too.

That fire and two others are many miles NW of me. And one closer to the SE. But I woke from a nap to a helicopter flying over my house. So Jonni went out to check for smoke. There was a semi overturned at the very local junction of the 15 and 215 that started a fire. One house burned. It looks as though they have that in hand.

very glad they have things in hand and that you are all safe. Sorry for the accident though.

junie, what are chalks?

You know what white chalks are for say a chalk board right ?? Well chalks for ceramics are sometimes called pastels as well. They are basically colored chalks that one uses with your fingers or very short bristles brushes to color in the creases of ceramic items, or to highlight say a hat.
Example: On my latest project (3 snowmen carolers) I put a blue chalk in the folds of the snow bodies where the 3 carolers meet, then I repainted them with white to tone down the blue color. This leaves but a shadow of color. Then I but a darker purple chalk over the lighter color purple on the raised areas of the lady caroler's hat. Then I moved onto the mans neck scarf & put a darker green chalk on it over the lighter green I had painted it.
This chalking gives the painted piece dimension so it looks more real. Then when I spray it with a clear sealer the things I have done will be set and permanent.

Madi shared her 'bug' with me yesterday....thankfully I feel better this a.m.

DH just got called to work, it snowed about 6 inches through the night and is now turning to rain. It will be another mess to deal with. It's 4 a.m. and I can't fall back to sleep.

There was one fire about ten miles away but they got it out after a couple days with only a few garages burning. There was one about a mile away with only a few acres and one house going up. I feel very lucky so far.

I have been ever so busy.

I am sitting around like I have all the time in the world....I REALLY need to get to wrapping things..b/c this next week I need to clean & then prepare for the Dudley Christmas and also hopefully make some cookies

Yes, John retired and we went on a long family vacation. When we got back a friend offered him a job and John took it. He would have driven me nuts at home all day long. He worked up until he became ill.
