Bummer, any idea of the species, or should I get a book on mushrooms, and try to find it? Poisonous to all species, just mammals? I guess mushrooms are not poisonous due to intestinal chemistry like the cotoneasters I spoke of once. Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

I looked for my mushroom book, but couldn't find it... My pigs would never eat that species, whatever it is, but they would gobble up the edible Chantrelles and Morels

I am in the middle of impregnating my red oak logs with Shittake spawn, but I got a little behind schedule and a couple other species have beaten me to the punch. Any ideas what these mushrooms are, or how I can identify them? They are sort of yellow-goldened, light brown in color. Pretty nice looking, they look kind of like seashells. They are a couple inches or so across, some smaller, some bigger. The photo I've attached that is yellow-brown and white has captured the true color better. The other photo just doesn't really show the color due to a different camera setting I used.
