Hi all. We were spared any real damage but a few hrs drive away were not. There are still over 6500 people with no power, ours flickered but stayed on. I am glad that you got some time out with Teddy...he sounds like a pleasant young man when out and about. I just mopped myself into a corner for a few minutes

I am home now---met my sister in the restaurant where we ceramic girls ate lunch---it was so nice to see her. she is taking me to my check-up at the Drs. tomorrow.

Sounds like fun with your sister. Thanks I sure will !!! Has Rod retired yet or is that still pending? his last day of work is October 27th...which just happens to be his birthday-- wonder how that is gonna work--(they get their B-day off with pay)--but there is a party at lunch that day for him so he will be going to work one last time... have I said how I am NOT looking forward to him being home all the time???  well, I am not. he will not know what to do with himself & I am afraid I will pay for that....

thanks ladies..but I am afraid his "to-do list..will be of his making and the to-doing will be him telling me what i will be doing & when & what I will be keeping & what I will be getting rid of--you know b/c he does not need whatever it is... off to get ready to go to a Drs. check-up. Aww, don't wake Jonni up----she will not be able to sleep a lot at night soon enough. BUT I am thankful that you have her to help you run errands..

Hi all....we are having a heat wave of sorts, what strange weather.
I got the shed all in order for Winter. Lawn items are in back and shovels and snow blower are in front.

3/4 of the deck is painted..while I hate that the stain is colored, it does seem to be going on like a satin paint..this just might work well. when it dries it has next to no color..YAY.
Rod came home today with great (NOT) news..he is off tomorrow, the weekend, then Monday & half of Tuesday----I have to wonder why they could not just let him work until the 27th ???

Yea, while that is a good idea, Sunny, I can see the mess he would make. he has already started running my life--he is going to the safety deposit box today & is going to clean it out..you know to remove the stuff I added that should not be there---(I did not add anything that should not be there) actually I have added nothing that he did not say to--he says I am wrong on that.

Well my word...... I did not come in and say goodnight--shame on me.
It is overcast today. I am glad that I finished the painting.
and oh I tool out pork-steaks last evening to begin the thawing--and then I promptly forgot to put them in the fridge...Rod found them at 8 this morning. So we will not be eating those Pork-steaks. but we decided we may not be coking out today anyway...

GG has the same sore throat with a cold....seems to be a normal thing with her.

Gracious, I was thinking I was sorry for the GG getting a cold--but that is nothing compared to the Chicken Pox....and her getting it is not a bad thing--at least it will be done then===but If she does get it, I hope she does not "share" with her brother....

I hope you can avoid the chicken pox, Sunny. It was devastating for my oldest. Bad for the next two. They had shots for my youngest two and they had them. But Jonni came down with a slight case anyway.
It is not something I would wish on anyone at all.

I remember having them--I had them worse that my sister, but we were both ill at the same time (poor Mom)
My girls were both sick at the same time with them as well, but we had an oatmeal soak, was it, that helped them a LOT!!!
My niece had them 3 times--although the last 2 times were just slight cases.

Good morning. I feel sorry for those attending the World Series today. It's supposed to be near 100 degrees at game time tonight. It's to be over that here today with single digit humidity. A wet t-shirt, no moving kind of day. We broke various heat records yesterday.

Hoping Teddy feels better.
DD had seizures with her chicken pox so I don't take it lightly. Either way...it is inevitable that she'll get them some day.

And we have a heat wave. Weird weather for sure.
I am hungry and I don't know what to fix. Something simple and cold though.

what did you end up fixing to eat, Tina.. My first thought was Pop corn & then my mind went to a salad with perhaps boiled eggs & shredded cheese on it for Protein. I hope you found something yummy to eat.

I ended up wish some vegetables, cold baked beans and bread with butter. Simple, filling and cold.
I still have a cold. Sweet dreams all. I'm taking my old bones to bed.

Rest is the best thing--and to My notion aside from your body healing better when it gets plenty of rest, if you are sleeping you cannot feel crummy, right ?? I am headed to sleep as well. G'nite

Good Morning ! I actually slept for 8 hours last night ! not only that but when I get up to go potty at 5:30 I was able to go back to sleep. I hope my day is as good as my night was !!!

I hope you continue to feel better every day, Tina. IMO colds are THE worst. Well, I just made my husband's lunch for tomorrow at work for the last time. Friday there will be a lunch for him & then when he comes home Friday evening (his Birthday) he will be retired. Where DID the time go ????? Sweet Dreams. well here i am again. I have been up since around 5:45. I got up to use the bathroom & I tried to go back to sleep--That was an epic fail.--oh well...
It is still dark, so I do not know what kind of day we will have.....

Well, Rod went to work today for the last time. It was strange NOT making his lunch. I did make him coffee though, so that helped me. (I felt like I had forgot to make it for him)

WE just had a great time on Skype. Luke & Micah wanted to talk to Grandpa & wish him Happy Birthday. they even sang to him--twice !!
Then we got to see Ian & while Chris took them all to bed, we had a nice chat with Emily. You know we should do that more often. it was almost like having them home to visit.

Good about the firewood !! Today in Wal-mart we saw small bundles of firewood for sale. Rod said we should get Brian one for Christmas..but then I bet he will not understand it is a joke--I said no BUT I will ask for ideas & if I get none that my back up is a bundle of wood...I laughed-------- Rod took me to the indoor flea market today- it was COLD and everyone and their brother was there...so I basically ran thru and then said we can go. Sad thing too as the prices were very good. THEN he took me to eat. when we got home I slept for 2 & 1/2 hours. Then I went out & brought in Valarie's lilac bush to the Garage. It will stay out there this winter so it does not freeze. It is now supper time & we neither are hungry--oh well.

ok cleared out my cookies and as finally able to order some photos on Shutterfly. I love that site--it is how I keep current photos of my Grands in the frames I have for each on the wall.

Good Morning. I baked 2 pies this morning....to go with the 2 I baked last night. as soon as they are cool I will take them to church for our sausage supper. the church will buy the food to prepare for the meal but then the members donate the pies that will be dessert. When I get home, I will begin to prepare (cut up the wings, & peel potatoes) the food for supper tonight. I will have it all ready so it is not so much work tonight. I am making Rod a special meal to celebrate his Birthday (which was Friday) I wanted to keep his retirement & his Birthday separate this year. Tina, I am so happy that you are feeling better. And to have it NOT get worse is wonderful Good for you!

Yes it sure does. It hurt me very badly to take them ALL to church...I LOVE pie, esp. cherry, and I made one to take to church. There is a cake on the counter now cooling b/c DH prefers cake. But I am right there with you, Tina. Mmmm Pie !!!

Tina, you do not "have" to get anything done--well unless it is absolutely necessary--you know, food prep or laundry....anything else can wait for later---(that is my story & I am sticking to it!)
The sun is "trying" to come out. and when this load of laundry is done I will be ob my way.

I made three kinds of fudge and did up the treat bags....I'll pick up Grandboy at lunch time. Once GG gets home from school, we'll head out to a few houses. Much to DH's dismay...he has to stay here to hand out treats.

It's Halloween. But more importantly it's 'fueling up' day. Because our gas prices are going up tomorrow. By 12+ cents a gallon. I hope it goes for what it's suppose to go for.

Rod & I are going---mind you, help-wise, it would be better if Tara (my sister) & I were going, but Rod & I are going. My sister on the other hand is going to Disney World in Florida with her 2 kids & their families. Her DD & her family are flying down tomorrow--& then her son & his family and my sister & her DH are all driving out together Thursday. They are all staying there together....Grammy & PoPo will go to Disney 1 day & then baby site the other days--& do some site seeing. G'nite to you all sweet dreams

Hi all.
GG's eye exam was perfect but GB has an issue, he has one eye that turns in a bit. They said it might be pseudo-stigmatism because they see it a lot in aboriginal kids(which his father was)...but we will have to travel to a specialist for an exact diagnosis. Which I might add is a 4 hour drive from here.
We are getting a mix of flurries/rain here. GG is home with an ear infection...a round of antibiotics for her this time.

Good morning. I've been up for a few hours.
My older son had strabismus (a kind of wandering eye), Sunny. It was a relatively easy surgical fix.
It is an ozfest/knotfest weekend. That means traffic nastiness out there and we stick inside. Or at home mostly. I wouldn't want to be out in the weather anyway. It's supposed to be drizzly or rain. Who would want to be out?
