The weather people say we will most likely not even get much rain from Harvey. But I do appreciate the cooler temps--which I assume are because of that system. I hope that your heat wave passes soon.
I really would like to go out & work on my yard...but I just do not have the energy----oh well perhaps tomorrow.

As planned, I didn't move much today. I had salad for lunch and some cereal for dinner. Keeping it simple during the heat. I also have fruit and such. We'll be fine here.

We are getting a few days here with no humidity...it is a refreshing change. I just cannot imagine having to bare with the heat that you get Tina. Junie, they are pretty sure that the leg will be fine. It all came from him sitting in a yoga position while he was growing in mom's tummy. The leg and foot was crossed and sitting up on the opposite thigh...and because he was so big, he never turned ad stayed breach. The doc was amazed to see the paperwork that they had to do a c-section three weeks early because he was almost 10 pounds at that time. Today I need to clean out the wood shed...it is that time of year. I plan to move the seasoned wood this week...into the shed for this Winter's use.

I am trying to keep my little family as comfortable as possible. It is not an easy thing. But we are getting by.
My thoughts are with those in Texas and Alabama, LA fighting the dregs of hurricane Harvey.

it is getting overcast now I assume it might rain. I just finished cleaning out my front flower bed. WHY I brought a weed with me (on purpose yet) when we moved is beyond me. They had overtaken my wild violets, so I cleaned the weeds out, then I added more soil. I then replanted some of the violets that got pulled out when I was removing the weeds.---looks pretty good now. Yes I have been watching the weather in the south as well. I feel so very sorry for them. That must be so devastating to everyone there. I wish them well..

Good morning. It is supposed to get to 110* today. I squeezed a lemon in a large glass of water to hydrate already. I haven't even had my coffee yet.

A road trip where, Carol? not a real road trip...I just wish.... My cousin had to go & buy some things at the Wal-mart, so we went to breakfast then to a Wal-mart. it was a nice day. Now I am home---and it is a beautiful day outside...Have I said I LOVE fall..., well I do !!...we can just hope that the "Indian Summer" does not show up.

Yikes Tina..that is too hot. I went for my yearly check up at the doc's office. I was told to lose weight..at least 30 pounds. I'm not liking her much today I picked up bottled lemon juice today to make lemon water...real lemons are a treat to find here.

Tina: I missed the 110*F temps . I hope that you all kept cool enough.
I am Sorry to hear the bad news, Sunny. IF you find a way to lose 30 pounds I sure need to hear about it......
As far as drinking goes, I stopped soda & now drink iced tea. 3 bags in a quart of hot water for a few hours until it is a dark as I like it--then I use Splenda to sweeten it..but I have heard that your body does not know the difference between sweeteners & sugar...THAT is one I will have to ask my dr. next month.

Yes, artificial sweeteners do trick your taste buds but leave you craving more. I learned to enjoy unsweetened tea or to add a little organic juice to it.

Hi all. Giving up soda is going to be the hardest thing for me to do. I guess there is no choice with doctor's orders. I was told as soon as I lose 30 pounds to go for more blood work. Time to get my butt in gear We had a light frost this morning..a warning to start preparing for Fall. I just finished cording all this Winter's wood in the shed. I am glad to see it done and DH is baling the last of the hay today as well...there is always some chore to be done it seems.

It was another hot one today. There have been a bunch of power outages in SoCal. I am glad it's not me but I feel for those that are affected.

I hope it cools soon for you Tina. It is overcast here so I took advantage of it and cut grass, weeded and weed wacked the ditch. Supper is cooking...then I need to take in hay. I'm gonna feel like 'old bones' in the morning

I need to go to the grocery store, but a lady is supposed to bring me the Church key (an actual key to our church, not a bottle opener  ), and has not done so yet...I may be going to the grocery this evening....

Good morning. It never got below 80* last night inside. With my cooler on low all night. It was 89* outside at 5:30 when I woke. It's going to be a miserable, hot day. And it's a bit windy out which makes for a parched situation.
Enough complaining. I'll be begging for some heat this winter as well. I am hard to please.

It is overcast here today..they sat due to Harvey. (Temps still in the 80's) BUT there will be no rain until Monday night. (sounds like a good weekend is to be had here...)
Tina..I think of the winter cold often when I am complaining of the heat. I think there are many of us who just cannot be pleased. One minute it is too hot, the next it it too cold......I will say I do LOVE Fall.
Sheri--it is going to be overcast today...so I will not be getting the new photos of the rocked area. I will do so the next time the sun shines.

A sudden rainstorm came on about 15 minutes ago. A whole lot of rain in a few minutes. It was nice and took the temps down to 90*. I'll take it.

I just listened to the weather forecast. Here it will be cooler yet today & tomorrow. Then by Sunday it will be back up in the 90's. I hope it does not get any warmer than that.....We shall see.
Sheri, it is still overcast...But I will not forget about the photo you asked for. I have errands to do today. BUT first I have the Church to clean. My friend & I will be Cleaning our Church for the month of September.

Junie, I didn't realize you clean your church. So cool. . Here is how it works. At the beginning of the year the person in charge of the Church cleaning, asks for people to sign up for a month in which they will be responsible for cleaning church. A friend & myself usually take May. This year, we drug our feet & so we lost out on May--So, we then chose September. I just happened to be the one to get the key this time.

Rod is finally in bed--so I am soon going to scrub the kitchen floor and then I will go to bed as well (when it is dry).
He thinks I should get up and drink coffee with him in the morning...(mind you he will be up at 5 or 5:30--he was gracious enough to say I could gt up at 6 am...)
We shall see--but I do not think 6 a.m. sounds like a good idea to me..

I ran a few errands yesterday then picked up Grandboy. DD was bartending at a wedding for the day and night.
Today we have a grad supper to attend for a girl I used to 'daycare' here. She has already graduated from college. Where does the time go?

Labour day here as well....it rained all morning.
I spent the a.m. getting GG's school items/clothes in order, every pair of pants needed to be taken in, in the waist...first day back is tomorrow.

We got 3 and 8/10th inches of rain last night in our storm...It was supposed to rain uet again today--but thankfully it did not...

It did, Tina..they forecasted more rain for today, but thankfully it missed us.
I had a difficult evening. I tried to upload photos to Shutterfly--it took me 2 tries but I finally got then to show---then I had to "invite" one of the girls to view them---that was not a piece of cake either--but YAY it isd all done now...

Good morning. I guess I'll have to look at the weather online. The news has general hurricane stuff on it but not the specifics I am looking for. My friends in Puerto Rico made it through but were om their roof at last I heard.

I hope the cooler is an easy fix Tina. still giggling over the 'shades of having Rod home all the time' Such a nice graphic James...is it celebrated as a holiday there? Here where I live it goes by without notice. There's not even cards in the store for such. I have been watching the hurricane news...such total devastation.

around here there are cards..and in church it is stated in the bulletin (I USED to sponsor the bulletin in honor of the kids Grandparents when the kids were home. (you paid the cost of buying the bulletins in order to be the sponsor.)
got the mornings running done--now we have to wait for the phone call from the social security office...we do not want to sign up for medicare & SSI on the phone but oh well, it does not matter what we want.

yes I did..and he got us to sign up for NOT full benefits--by waving money in front of our noses..saying we would have to live to be like 81 to come out even.....and for me to get 1/2 of Rod's amount I would have to wait until I was 66..and we cannot afford for us to do that--so I got a reduced amount to the tune of $70.00 less a month. BUT as Rid said it is dine so it is what it is.. actually going to sleep now--nite--nite

Hi all... I am watching the news and sending prayers for all in harms way of the hurricanes.
I am taking the kids to the Fall Fair today..good thing is that it is a three minute drive from where DD lives. It sure puts me in a good mood for Fall. Pumpkins and are everywhere there.

I am watching the weather channel. Valarie's best friend form Grade school.high school recently ,moved to Naples, Florida.. They chose to stay in their house.
They came home from a European vacation just in time to board up the house & then leave...well, they shuttered 1 window, saying the others are hurricane windows, & have 1 case of water..and 1 puppy pad, & are staying..SMH...I am hoping they end up being ok.
I will say goodnight now..sweet dreams

Yes, I had friends in Puerto Rico. They ended up on their roof. But survived last I heard. Prayers for your friends, Carol.

Prayers for all in the path of the hurricanes.
We went to the Fair, it was nice but too crowded....we had to leave because the kids were getting overwhelmed with the people.
I came home and made my relish preserves...my pickling for Winter is officially done.

well at least you went..even if it was for a bit.... My "friends" are still ok--but the water is creeping in. I do wish they had of left--but it is too late now. and the authorities have stated on TV that responders will not be rescuing people during the storm...so those that chose to stay are on their own .

Yes, I got up a couple of hours ago and got distracted immediately by storm news. Earthquake news. Jose tracking is screwy, literally. Really no telling where it is going to go.

Valarie's friends still have internet..and as on 1 hour ago they were ok.
WE are home with nothing planned.....I was going to make myself a place to watch TV downstairs as Rod thinks to nap a lot in the livingroom. But he said not to bother as I should just go ahead & watch TV even if he is sleeping....

Well, THAT was fun.......  My DH woke me at 6:00 this morning..He could not find some papers he needed....so I spent 45 minutes looking for him, as he needed to go to work...The boy was looking for a business-sized envelope, and he should have been looking for an 8 x 11 manila envelope.  next up....coffee. PS My DD's friends are fine...and they are too far inland to worry much about the water surge...so all is well with them..
