Hello all!

My lawn started out beautiful this yer but has now developed these brown spots throughout! I suspect that it may be a fungus because f the fairly well spring that we have had. Can anyone suggest how to eliminate this?

Thanks in advance!

Are your neighbor's lawns experiencing the same?

As crazy as this sounds, a dull blade on a mower can cause it....as well as a fungus called 'brown patch'. You can buy a lawn fungicide at local hardware stores.

~~Tam~ You can bury all your troubles by digging in the dirt.

There are many different reasons for brown patch grubs, dog urine, scalping the lawn, erosion, insects, dull blade, fungus so it's hard to diagnosis your specific problem. Do you have an extension agent that can help you because the remedy is different for each specific problem.

I get the same thing every other year. I have used powder detergent (all temp. cheer, tide, must be the dry type) spread like hand spraying fertilizer ( i know you should always use a spreader and not your hand ) by hand across the yard. My neighbor who is an old retired man and always has a green awesome front yard. We are here in Houston Tx, and he says it is some bug that eats the grass root. that is our issue or mine every 2 years but it takes care of it quick, dont over do it though it will hurt it a bit if you go to heavy with it.
