I'm in for a few minutes to grab lunch. I have been sanding down a dresser that DD bought for GG. Second hand finds are great deals....until you realize that there are 4 coats of paint that needs to be stripped first

How was your trip to the doctor's today, Carol?
I have spent the evening uninstalling and reinstalling my AVG. It was the only way to fix it. I am still not thrilled with the outcome but I will live with it for now.

I was sure I came in & said how my day went, so sorry.
Today my MIL had an earlier appt. so we got home about 4 hours earlier.. (YAY) It went much smoother, although my MIL said she will be glad when this is all done.

Tomorrow there is another earlier appt. then Friday and form then on out until she is done, the appt. will be at 2:00. I am hoping that will work out well for me.

Tina, I installed AVG last week...it seems to work well. Hoping I have no issues. Is your computer lagging?

We are finally supposed to get a nice day....followed by a week of rain again. I'll be outdoors mowing grass today.

It's much cooler this morning and that's good. I'm not ready for summer.
Sunny, I have always used AVG. But one component of it began to fail. So I had to undo it and re-install. It is good now.

I am glad that the both of you like AVG. I hated it, I felt like it was doing nothing for my computer. I now have a thing called "Webroot". My brother put it on here. he gets it form Wal-mart. so far so good. it is like $15 - $20 a year....

My day just opened up. Now that is good for today but bad for the month of June.

So sorry to confuse, Tina. My MIL has 16 radiation treatments to go thru...which takes up 2-1/2 weeks of June and perhaps a few extra days after that.

we already have to make up one day.

Ah, I understand. Good luck to her with the radiation.
I bless John's radiation treatments every day. They weren't geared at prolonging his life at all, but aimed at relieving pain. And it worked.

MY MIL had a spindle cell neoplasm that was not addressed in time
(she was old after all...which is not our take on the situation but the homes & her primary care Drs.)
so now it is a sarcoma..but it has not spread..so after her surgery, radiation is the answer.

I am glad that John's radiation helped him. I am sure that was comforting to you all.

I am soon headed to bed.

I have to stop this habit I have gotten into. I wake every morning when Rod is getting ready to leave for work----I need to sleep longer in the morning.

Well, the transport service called me last night saying that they would be there to pick Marie up & take her to her appt. I hope we do not have a replay of yesterday. For $355.00 a trip (& that is with a discount) you would think they would be jumping at the chance to take her.

going to get ready to go--I have errands to run before I go to the Nursing home.

Very bad day today. MIL was out of humor...plus I think the driver of the transport van has Tourette's Syndrome.
IMO not a good thing for a van driver to have.... not to mention her constant chatter set off my MIL.

I wasn't able to get in today...the cable company was working on lines up the road from here.

I did get out today. I feel good getting things done. Now I think I am set until next week. And maybe til the first. But I need to go out sometime and get my oil changed and a tire rotation, etc.

Yes it was very bad..and I did not care for the driver's speed of driving either.


We went to the cemeteries this evening. Now all of our loved ones have flowers on their graves.

I put a flag out for John a couple of weeks ago. Or rather Ted did. The cemetery will do flags for all this weekend.

Glad you and Ted went. That is a nice remembrance for the both of you. Was Jonni along ??

My dad has a flag by his headstone as well. The cemetery where he is already put out their flags.

Hi all.

I was at the cemetary last week. I need to go back this week to clean some headstones. The church has closed and the upkeep of the remainder is done on a volunteering basis. It is sad to see how it is going down hill.

Today we are going to Visit Grandboy and put together his mom's new push mower....then we'll watch her cut grass and lament about it

LOL..perhaps you should just leave--or remain quiet--I would hate for her to "invite" you or your DH to cut for her..LOL

How do you wash your headstones, Sunny. MY DH's families stones are in dire need of cleaning. And their cemetery is maintained...SMH

Hi all,

Nana checking in..... been interesting few weeks, came home after 6 weeks or so ... after second visit with ortho doc, he said traveling was ok, stayed home for almost a month... went back and got my cast off... Yay! stayed long enough to get a walking boot fitted and get used to using it... using a walker still but so much easier... came home and now doing pt with a therapist... 9 visits total... then we will be going back for hopefully last visit, meanwhile we are painting and packing house.. bathroom upstairs is done except for paint.. Joe is doing that tomorrow.. will do downstairs bath next... and touch up stuff in rest of house after..
oldest dd is coming next week to help us pack up , we will clean the carpets and put house up for sale... house across the street sold in 5 days for 20000 over asking price.. that would be nice, we will go down and take our furniture and stuff and rent a house by the month, and look for one to buy.. wasn't original plan but will work..and be a whole lot easier when I can walk easier.

The boys are out of school now. can't believe Timothy is a sophomore now and getting his permit next week, Derek tried out for the summer baseball team at the highschool too and made it, they are both so tall now, and Nicoli did very well with school too , he is getting taller too,, eye to eye with me now... pretty good for a kid that didn't grow for 3 years...

The newest great grandson is due the end of June, sure hope we are still here but we will come back if we need too, Joe knows the road very well now. .LOL!

Might even be better, you can buy a house that you will be really happy with, instead of one that "would do".

Yes, your grandsons are getting big. But then they tend to do that---even if we would wish they did not.

I was watching the news and it showed a place in Illinois called Peoria(sp?) that had hail the size of baseballs....is that close to you Junie? Stay safe.

Last night the neighbors dogs were chasing a moose through my yard...what a ruckus out there. It's the time of year to start dealing with the wild life.

Good Morning. Rod is going to see his Mom w/o me as I am with her all week. It was nice of him to think of having me stay home.

Sunny---I know that there was to be golf Ball-sized hail with the storm that was coming thru, but while I was prepared for it (I brought a lot of my plants indoors)
it went south & apparently north of us.

Peoria, IL is 136 miles north of us. Google says it take 1 hr & 58 minutes to get there.

WE had strong winds but nowhere hear the 70MPH they were predicting in some places. Then we also had some rain but nothing to write home about.

Today we, in this area, are supposed to have scattered showers. So, we shall see what happens.

Wow...so far 3 days in a row I have taken 2 to 3 hour naps....this has GOT to stop.

I'm here with no particular plans. I had a sandwich for dinner tonight.

I/we have no particular plans either. WE had frozen Pizza for supper...and we had that well after 8:30.

The only "special" plans for tomorrow are to take my Mom to a Memorial Day service in the town where she lives. then she will take us to Breakfast. (YAY..I love eating breakfast out)

otherwise it is nothing special for me either.

I was busy with family that kept 'popping' in all day.

Tina, I had a bad night. I went to bed at a good time but my nerves were preventing me from sleeping. Good news is I watched this tongue-in-cheek show called Psyched (or perhaps Psych. It is about s Psychic detective but it is not serious by any stretch. I like who done its anyway so it was entertaining.

The only plans we have for today is to take my Mom to a Memorial Day service that her town holds. Well that and since Rod is home he will grill the meat for one of our meals.

Hi all, quiet day here.... I did manage to clean up the kitchen some , hubby is good at basic cleaning but not on the deep and dirty stuff, I can finally stand long enough to do more so decided it had to get done,,, he did the second coat of paint on the upstairs bathroom ..it's looking good up there.. hopefully will be dry enough for our handyman to finish it off in the next day or so, Joe will paint the downstairs bath and rehang the cabinet , that will finish that one off too.. oldest dd is coming back too, she will help us finish packing, Tues we will empty the extra cabinet Carrie wants in the kitchen and take apart the twin bed they loaned us, that will make it easier to clean up the house and eventually get the carpet cleaned, was going to do it ourselves but don't have the energy for that right now. I still get tired really easily...good thing is I am sleeping better and can get upstairs now fairly easily... so looking fwd to a new house with no stairs...

I have watched more tv in the last few weeks.. thank goodness for Netflix.. after I do a little house stuff I have to rest , tv has been a good friend lately, but happy I can actually do stuff now.

BUT
from one who knows, DO NOT push & do too much. IT will all get done in the end, even if you have to let your family do it, or you have to hire it done. Take care of you now, so you can actually do the work in your new house. patience/restraint is a good idea right now.

The computer was my friend in all the times of healing. Well, once I was able to sit in a chair for any length of time.

Mopping--I need to do that, Sunny.

Nana, finding a home with no stairs is a good thing. Rest when you can...Junie's advice is a 'lesson learned'.

Today I'll tackle a few chores...especially cleaning headstones at the grave yard. We are supposed to get heavy rains tomorrow so it will help rinse them well.

My plan was to work in the garden this morning because the temps are supposed to be in the 70's but I got up, or tried to get up, and was dizzy as a bat. (are bats really dizzy) Anyway it's now 12:30 and I'm feeling some better so I'm sitting up to see if I feel like going outside. Also need to prune a few rose bushes.

Do you get dizzy often?

I fixed my screen door...it will be a nice addition when the weather gets better.

Sunny I do get dizzy more often than most. I've always had trouble with my ears so I figure it's from that. I'm all better today though.

I'd like to have a glass door where my back screen door is so Andy could look out. I'm concerned he'd break right through a screen if he decided too. I like leaving my door open once in a while.

HI My MIL will not ever be ok again...and while miracles happen, I to think that she is not going to come back from this.

Junie, I am so sorry to hear of your MIL's health. Sending prayers.

Sheri, why not add a plexi-glass panel to the bottom of the screen door? It would solve the problem and is a cheap fix.

I did get the sewing finished Tina. I made 5 pr of jean shorts for GG out of jeans that were too short in the legs...among repairs to DH's work clothes.

I have no idea what to tackle today.

GG woke up feeling unwell....with a high fever that wouldn't break. I just got home from the hospital with her...turns out she has strep throat. It came on so fast it had me worried. They gave her a strong antibiotic for bacterial infections. It's always something with school age kids.

That's awful, Sunny. Prayers for GG and a quick recovery.

It seems to be a long day here. Mopping is finished and the last load is in the dryer. I already made chocolate cupcakes and put chicken in the oven...and there is still plenty of time left. I really want to be outside but the rain has other plans.

I am sorry that it's raining there, Sunny. Send some of it my way. It's hot and sunshine-y here and going to be all weekend.
I've done my running for awhile. And paid my bills and things. It might be time to rest. A nap sounds good.

Yes Sunny is correct, the radiation treatments have been put on hold... Marie is not well at the moment.
