This younger generation is different than me. I'm freaking out a little over Ginger's situation but she's not so I'm gonna try to stop. My sister told me yesterday that her son has taken a promotion with his job and has to be in another state by June 1st. They have a 3 month old baby. My sister is freaking out a little for them but she said they don't seem concerned at all. What's wrong with them!!!!! Or should it be what's wrong with us?? :)
Church, lunch, and a nap is all we've done today.

When I think of some of the things I did when I was younger, I understand a little of what your daughter is doing. But older and wiser worries a bit. Say a prayer and let the worry go. Or try anyway.

Yes, Sheri, Tina is right---say a prayer and let the worry go. As much as we would like to do, we cannot fix everything for our kids. So IMO to pray for them & be there if/when they need us is a bout all we can do.
We went to church today, then had lunch with my MIL as it was her 97th Birthday. When we came home we both went to bed & slept for like 3 hours...Then Rod cut grass (it was finally dry enough for him to do that). I just washed some clothes,,,what a slacker I can be,,,but oh well. We had pizza for supper with salads.
about the luncheon:
The chef they have at he place, made us strawberry shortcake with homemade whipped cream for our dessert. It was quite yummy, was happy to see that my MIL ate a lot of her lunch and a lot of her dessert. I will take the cup cakes that I made for her Birthday, to her tomorrow.
Then I have errands to run tomorrow..

It was not supposed to rain today, which is one reason why I chose today to run some of the errands I have to do. BUT on my way home it did indeed begin to rain. Good thing was, it did not rain much.

Junie glad your MIL had a nice birthday party. I usually take a nap on Sunday's. Just seems like a good day to nap. I worked out twice today. Went to step aerobics this morning at 8:30 with Shelley then at 2:00 went to the new gym I've joined, Anytime Fitness, and had 1 of the 3 free sessions with the trainer. Then I went by the store, bought cupcakes, came home and ate them. Oh well.

Thanks, Tina. I just got back form the plant place. I got all of my flowers that I still needed for the front pot, and then 3 basil plants to plant with my tomatoes...(now I just need 1 more for my Cherokee Purple plant---(but first I need to find a large pot to plant the CP in.) I also got a few more plants for my yard...all that is left now is a few annuals for my large flower bed. and OH--I also planted some wildflower seeds & some pink/yellow poppies. Going for a bath n ow--TTYAL

Went to the nail place today and then had my hair trimmed. My regular hair guy that I started going to when Colby was in the hospital a year ago has messed it up the last 2 times he's cut it. Today I went to a walk in place at the mall and it took 2 people but it looks better.

Hi all.
I have never had my nails done.....they'd never last my 'digging around'. They do look so pretty though.
Today I have a few local errands to run. I still never picked up Mom's Day gifts. I pre-ordered lobsters for my mom but that depends on the weather for the fishermen. I need a back-up in case.
It is cool and dreary today.

Good morning. What an awful night. I had a hard time sleeping. Some due to critters outside. I slept during their quiet times. Which wasn't enough. I will be napping today.

Moving right Along with my housework---I am cleaning the mail off of the bar and what do I find??? I fin d a notice that says Rodney has a meeting with the nursing home today---well we all know that HE does not go to these, so I get to go in his place......Because you know I have the time-----NOT

BTW: I had my nails done for like 5 years..it took me about 2 years to learn how to work in them, but I finally did.
Sadly I cannot any longer afford to have them done..I will say that I always felt like I was "finished" when I got ready to go out someplace when I was having them done.

I don't get acrylic nails and have mine cut short then get gel polish which will last for a while no matter what I do. I've never had acrylic nails. I can't stand if mine even get a little bit long.

Just came back from a "Care Meeting" about my MIL today. Throat still sore, and still feel crumby.
Good news is my in-laws will not come until sometime tomorrow. With the extra time, I may get my house in order for their arrival...YAY !

Hi all. The sun is shining and there is plenty to tackle outdoors....I shall have a busy weekend ahead. Gals, lobsters are not a big thing here....we live in an area where shellfish is a common item with cheap prices. It is my mother's favorite food though and the season opens for Mother's Day.

Grocery shopping done, as is the banking. I have just (all be it late) put out the hummingbird feeders. This morning I saw a little HB flying around the thistle feeder looking for food...so I quick made some...when I got back form the store, the HB food was cool so I put it out...

Yay for supper out. I love yogurt also, the vanilla kind. I just came in from working 8 hours in the yard....my back won't be thanking me in the morning. I got half the spring clean up done though Tomorrow we spend the day with Grandboy.

Lobster is very expensive here. I'll bet fresh lobster tastes wonderful. I like it but haven't ordered it out in years because 1 tail is $35.00 - 40.00 and I just can't make myself do it.
Junie hope your throat is better. Ginger ended up going to the doctor, which she NEVER does, because her throat hurt so bad. She got a shot in each cheek and a by mouth prescription. I can't remember the last time she was sick.

Sheri, I have been to the Dr already & took a 10 day course of 875mg. Amoxicillin 2 times a day. But this antibiotic just stops the growth of bacteria.. so I finished it on Monday night & by Tuesday evening my throat was sore once again, Good news is the ear did drain so I feel a bit better.
My DD had strep throat so I am thinking I did too, but still I should be better---I guess if I am not better by Wednesday, I will speak to my DRs. nurse as I need to go for blood work there anyway.

Sheri, at the moment fresh lobster is $8 a pound....The average lobster is about one pound as well. Last year at the end of the season they were $5 a pound.

Just looked at my grocery store and a 2-3 oz lobster tail is $5.99. Doesn't seem like much to eat to me.
Junie I'm glad you're going back to the doctor. Maybe you can get an injection too. I think they work better for me but I have to beg to get one.
Tina sorry you're having trouble sleeping. I can't function without sleep.

We will see what the nurse says...I am hoping to NOT have to see a Dr. again but I am thinking they will make me see him--oh well..I DO need to get better, that is for sure. Tina, I too hope you can sleep better tonight...My uncle always says the older a person gets the less sleep they need---I think the older we get, the less sleep we "GET" and that has nothing to do with what we need. I wish you a special Sweet dreams wish for a complete GOOD night's sleep. Sheri---so glad you got to spend time with Shelley.and YES presents ARE the best. I got a bouquet of flowers today from my oldest & her family and I have a bag & priority box to open in the morning. I too love getting presents..I esp. love the anticipation !! I wish everyone a good night and a Very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow.

Hi all. Happy Mother's Day!  Today will be another day of yardwork. It's nice to have a few days of sun. The grands gave me a card and personalized mug with their pics on it. It's too cute to use. Have a great day ahead.

Happy Mother's Day !!! I got 2 Nora Fleming Mini's for my garnish tray, a hand made coffee mug, and a bouquet of flowers. And I also got a phone call & a "mom" question !!! I only slept 4 hours last night but I got a good nap in this afternoon. I hope you all had a great day !!

Hi all. Hoping everyone had a nice Mom's Day.  DH even surprised me with a PVC wheel barrow. It is so light. GG was wheeling it around all day like a new toy  I spent the whole day yesterday finishing the spring clean up. Every thing has been raked, weeded, fertilized and mulched. I am glad to be done in time for the rain today. Today is a day of baking and indoor work.

Good Morning ! Outside work..I wish I were done ! I do have somethings done, but I still need to plant one Tomato plant, and then weed i/2 of the paver area and then my whole rocked area, and the flower beds between the house and the rocked area...Both of these are hard jobs to accomplish....BUT first, I need to finish my indoor work...LOL. Today's agenda is a trip to take my Mom to a Drs. appt. (check-up) and then I have a routine blood test in the same area.

My Postmaster lady loaned me her me a bottle of Thieves Oil to try today, and I must say with only using it one time, I feel better already. Does anyone know anything about using oils like this ?

I'm going to try to post while I am on here.. Hopefully Brennan will get my computer working soon, they are moving so it will be a few weeks.
Carol, I love Thieves oil...I have Thieves toothpaste, mouth wash, hand sanitizer, spray... The cleaner that you dilute in water is awesome. It cleans everything. I have a lot of essential oils (only Young Living) Andy's family sent them to me. The RC is so good for congestion. It kept Andy more comfortable during his last days.

I have never used oils although I heard they work wonders if used correctly.
I have to take grandboy for an evaluation today with a speech therapist...I'll be gone most of the day.

Hi all. G-boy had his assessment completed...they said not to worry, although they recommended a 'Talk with me' program for kids/adults. They will call when the new sessions start. It is a play based group focused on rhyming songs/activities. I did manage to spend the few dollars I made with sewing....the Mom's Day specials were still on at the garden center. So some strawberry plants and a clematis followed me home

I stopped at a different Grocery today. It was on the way home from me getting my blood test. It was a bit cheaper to shop there to my notion...I am going to remember it.

Cheaper groceries is always a good thing Junie.
It is supposed to be warmer today here as well Tina...with a chance of thunderstorms.
I'm not sure what today holds...GG has basketball after school so I'll make a fruit/veggie run at the local grocery at the same time. DH is also taking my car for it's yearly inspection this morning.

IT is supposed to rain this afternoon. But then it was supposed to rain yesterday, and all we got was an overcast sky. Not that I am complaining. We are still plenty wet here from the last "set" of rain.

Hope you feel better soon Tina. Junie, I am planting the strawberries in my garden. It's time to start a new strawberry patch. My old plants are over 10 yrs old and producing poorly. My potatoes have chitted, GG and I cut them tonight...they'll heal over and be ready for planting tomorrow. We have 54 pieces to plant.

Yes, I bought too many potatoes this year for just a big tree pot (it is a bit bigger than a half barrel) so I planted while potatoes, instead of cutting them up, so many eyes to a piece. WE shall see how that goes. Have fun planting your new strawberries. It must be grand to have fruit in your garden, It has been a bit more than 13 years since I have had blackberries and I still miss them.. "Cindy" says that storms are on their way...sooner or later so I think I will say goodnight now and will soon turn off my computer. See everyone tomorrow.

Hi all. I see the weather in the U.S. has been horrid...stay safe everyone I love fresh fruit. My plan is to slowly build up my backyard for such. I have rhubarb that comes back nicely each year and a plum tree. Apple trees grow all over my area (old abandoned farm land/old properties) so we just pick what we want. I'll have strawberries again then raspberries, blueberries and small strawberries grow wild here. I plan to add two gooseberry bushes this year. Slow and steady....$$ wise. I'll be outdoors prepping my garden today

It's a holiday here tomorrow...Grandboy is coming for a sleepover. My DD is finishing up the painting in her kitchen while he is gone.
GG and I are going to check out the garden nursery that opened this week...it is on the way to my DD's house. The are supposed to have some some special sales to mark their first weekend of the season.

Hi all.
The new nursery owners have done a nice job of the old nursery...but the prices reflect it. Their items on sale are twice the price of the garden centers. It was nice to browse but sadly they are too expensive for my budget.
Grandboy came for a sleepover....toddlers are such fun.

Good Morning ! I am glad you are having a good time with the Grand boy. And yes, toddlers are SO much fun. Sorry for the prices at the new Garden Center. Seems to be a sign of the times I guess. Prices here are much higher this year as well. I had to look the other way when buying my plants this year. Sad thing is I really need a few flower plants yet. But I guess I will get them & just try to get smaller/cheaper plants. They will all grow after all.

I have that issue sometimes, Tina...I think it has to do with getting older. What I heard when I was much younger was true. Aging in NOT for sissys.

Sunny I know what you mean about prices. I remember dodge would say she'd been to Lowe's and gotten all these deals but the Lowe's closest to my house NEVER puts anything on sale. Even the plants that look mostly dead aren't put on sale. I did find a beautiful big pot of pink petunias on sale at Harris Teeter today for $4.99. Should have bought 2 pots.
All 3 of my sisters and several of my friends wake during the night and then have trouble getting back to sleep. Thankfully I don't. If I wake up it's to go to the bathroom but I go right back to sleep.

Yea, I never seem to find really good deals on plants either...
About sleeping. I have to stay up very late--so that I can go to sleep & stay there until 7 or 8 in the morning. IF I go t bed say at 9 or 10, I wake at around 3 to go to the potty & my body is done sleeping for the night. I envy you Sheri.

The best deal on plants here are at a hardware store called Canadian Tire. They have different sales all season. For Mother's Day...clematis were on sale for $6. There were only 4 varieties to pick from but at that price one can certainly find one that they like.
I took grandboy home last night....today I feel really tired. It is pouring rain as well, it will be a long day.

Good morning. I slept well until I was wakened by my kid at around 4 am. He was awake so I should be also, I guess.
I will go out and shop for my normal bread and bananas today.

I hope you got to rest today Tina.
I did a kitchen housecleaning job today in exchange for a screen door that a woman bought on clearance and couldn't return(it was too small). It's the right size for my back door. It was a fair trade but my days of cleaning for other people are over. I am tired.

Bartering...good for you Sunny. I don't want to clean my own house some days much less clean for anyone else but I might if I got a good deal like you did.
It has poured rain all day and at one point the wind was unbelievable.
We had hamburger patties, slaw, and roasted asparagus tonight for dinner and Johnny brought home cupcakes.

IT rained around here horridly on the drive home from Springfield today. I hope tomorrow will be dryer.
Tomorrow I will be gone a large part of the day as well...There will be daily Drs. visits for my MIL for around 4 weeks. yours truly gets to go along.

Good job with the barter. I hear you on being tired, Sunny.
Daily Dr. visits are harsh, Carol. J have been there. I hope the rain eases off.
I had an issue with my computer. I had to run scans and stuff. It appears better. Will run things again tomorrow.

Hi all. Bartering used to be a normal thing for me but I don't have the energy for it anymore. I'm getting old before my time It rained all night and we still woke up to frost...it's taking a long while to warm up. I am going to make a post and share some pics in the Hollow Log.

I am way tired of all the rain here as well. Someone forgot to tell Mother nature that it is no longer April.
I guess it will be no different here as in the past.. Cold and the furnace on one day and hot & the A/C on the next. It is a wonder we all do not have pneumonia.
