Thanks Sunny. it was wonderful to spend time with family. So sorry for your sick Grand girl. I do so hope that the virus is short lived and that she does not "share".

Tina, I must say it is nice to be seeing you. I hope that your wet weather clears so you can get out to get Teddy his food, and so that you do not have to be concerned with what all the rain could do.

I will be staying home today. I think since I am here I will try to catch up on bookwork. Lucky me already has supper made & sitting in the fridge, ready to be warmed.

Thanks everyone...she seems to be slowly getting better, meanwhile I am washing clothes, all the bedding and all the carpets that she decided to 'share' on. Washing large carpets in the tub is not a fun way to spend the day.

The joys of kids lol

OH MY sorry for the washing of rug in tubs.....I was lucky, my kids learned early on to "try" to hold it in until I got them down to the bathroom. well except for once when Valarie "shared" all over her bed.....BUT there were lots of times that I kept a bucket by their beds.

Sad thing of all of this is you will miss it when she is all grown up...

I am so very cold....I need to go find a sweater.....

A virus has been going around here too. Hope it doesn't encircle me. Shelley has never figured out how to make it to the bathroom. She says she has no warning. Johnny says the same thing. If they vomit once they sleep with a pot next to their head.

I can't imagine having to deal with that much snow. It would lock us down for sure.

One good thing about going to Ginger's is I wash clothes there just like I do at home so we don't come back with a suitcase full of dirty clothes. Andy must have stayed up and partied the whole time because he's been asleep most of the day.

Darbi had exams today so I got to pick her up early from school. She's so fun.

I cannot imagine dealing with that much snow either. I remember once Sunny showed us a photo of the snow & her roof peeking out of the snow----I will never forget that photo.

LOL about Andy. perhaps he stayed up & was on sentry duty the whole time you were gone. Since you were home he figured it was safe to sleep now.....?? just me thinking out loud Sheri...

Goodnight Tina, sweet dreams. (Hey tomorrow is the 24th..GOOD LUCK !!!!)

Good morning.

We get used to the weather we have to deal with...not knowing it any other way. I can't imagine having to deal with the heat that you all get. Also snow equals no mosquitoes haha

We are now under a freezing rain warning for through the night...our temps are staying milder than normal for this time of year.

Grandgirl is better...thankfully.

Today will be a day of Lysol, mopping and such...I need to sanitize the germs away.

Good luck with the serviceman Tina.

We got a break in the weather long enough for me to head out to the local grocery store...they had a great sale on pork chops and I loaded up to last me a few months.

Hi !!! I had a great time (as always) at ceramics today. When we all got to the restaurant my old high school was having a luncheon day and so I got to see my sister as well.
I do not go to these as they are always on a Tuesday.

Tina, I hope the service men are there..

Sunny...great on the pork chops..and yes good idea on using the Lysol. That is some great stuff.

Waiting now for my friends to pick me up as we are going to the funeral home to pay our respects to another friends sister.

Great on getting to see your sister today, Carol.
I use to love pork chops. But pork is so lacking in flavor anymore. I pass on it most of the time.
Well, the phone company didn't show. But I found out that I am not alone on the ranch with similar problems. For a similar length of time. I'll be on the phone with them tomorrow to find out when it is supposed to be next.

Junie, you may be right about Andy. Maybe he's constantly on guard while he's there. Smart thinking.

Tina, sorry about the phone man. A bit aggravating I'd say.

Sunny, glad grandgirl is better. I love the smell of Lysol.

Keep safe, Sunny. Was school canceled for the ice?
Good morning. It's early yet but it's cold. I wanted to put wood on the fire out here to ensure the room stayed as warm as possible. And once I get beyond the 'going potty' steps, I'm kind of awake. It's 36* outside my door. Too cold for me.
I need coffee. I plan on spending at least a part of the day on the phone. That means I have to fortify myself.
I hope everyone has a good day. And wakes well!

Good Morning !! Apparently we are on our way back to more "normal/colder temperatures) It was in the 50's early early this morning & now it is in the 40's headed for the 30's. Still I will take that over colder temps.

Sunny, Thanks for the warnings of the ice storm....stay safe. I too wonder about the school situation. I do hope either way, you kept GG home.

Tina. Funny you mentioned the potty routine. it seems I have to go several times in the morning before I get to start my day. Thankfully I am past that for today.

I hope your phone conversations go well.

Our weather has been beautiful today and Andy and ToDeTa have been outside a lot of today. I'm thinking I want to get the trellis and plant green peas.

I met Shelley at the gym this morning at 8:30 for a cardio dance class. A person thinks she's in shape from the elliptical machine and weight training but let me tell you she's NOT. Evidently there are muscles hiding until the dance music starts. [Linked Image]

Any ideas on my little cast iron pan? It just won't clean up.

Also still thinking about how I can fix my window. Any ideas on this? I like Junie's lace pattern idea but don't know what kind of paint will work without covering the other paint.

Is your pan rusty, Sheri. Then a vinegar bath is called for. If it is cooked on food, then an dousing with Easy-off (yellow cap and seal it in a bag for a few days. Continue until it is clean and then season.

That is a good idea, Tina...I was thinking that a "dip" in an outdoor fire would work---but I like your idea much better. Sounds a lot easier.

About the window----put the lace in one way spray, then move it and spray another color----if you do not want to cover some parts, cover that area with a solid piece of say cardboard.

Have you looked on Pinterest ?? I bet you could find some ideas there.

Good morning....I just chased a fox out of my yard.

We got our power back. We are luckier than most, there are over 90,000 people doing without for their second day....and some will see day four or five without it. They say it was the second worst ice storm seen by our power company ever.

I agree with Tina, oven cleaner will strip the pan. My grandmother used to clean her pan with a raw potato and salt.

Sheri, do you just want to cover the glass panes itself? You can 'modge podge' lace, material or even paper if so. One can also buy all kinds of peel and stick coverings also.

Today I have a mess to deal with outdoors and a batch of bread to make.

Have a good one.

This cast iron pan is an original Erie #3. The bottom, where the symbol is, and the handle, where the number is, came pretty clean BUT the actual cooking surface won't clean. I'm pretty sure it's not cooked on food. It's rusty looking and soaking in vinegar (which I've done 3 times) has only cleaned parts of it. The part that is cleaned is down to the bare metal.

The window (I should take a picture) has a big flower painted on the panes taking over a lot of the area. There is no way to paint just the part that is not already painted.

ok then, I think you should either clean it again (& again of needed) or have Johnny make a fire in the back and when the wood is down to coals, put t he pan in the coals...(have coals in & outside) for a good amount of time. Then after some time has passed drag it out & scrap it while it is still hot. If you wait until it is cool again, it will most likely be just like it was before the burning.

Now, I have not ever done this, I have just read of it...so you decide if you should do this.

Good morning.

Grandgirl is sick again..it is a lingering bout of gastro. There was no school for half the week anyway due to the weather. Quite a few kids have it they said.

Still 60,000 people here with no power....they started moving people yesterday to alternate towns(warming center's) due to the cold. Thankfully we still have ours.

Tina, I hope they work out your internet issues soon.

I need to clean and mop here in a bit....I also need to bake some sweets for the week.

Sorry for so many people having no power Sunny. I so dread that. I have lost entire freezers full in the past for that reason. Lucky for us our gas fireplace will work w/o power, so warmth is not an issue. The sump pump is, but when we discussed it, Rod said he would just spend his time carrying buckets of water out of the sump all day. OH well.

Anyway, I hope that power is restored to the people in your area soon, and that you do not lose it in the mean time.

So sorry to hear that GG is still sick. I hope she recovers soon.

Tina, I hope you can get your internet back up and working properly soon.

I think I will be going to visit my sister today. I wish you all a great/warm/healthy day.

Good morning. Today, I'm buying some tar to plug up a bad leak on my deck that sprung up in the last downpour. But no one is climbing on the roof to do that until the winds die down. Up to 70 mph.
I'm glad I've got power and wood to burn. I feel for all those in distress.

Sorry for your internet problems, Tina--I hope you are able to resolve the issues sooner rather than later.

Rod thinks he may be getting a cold...It seems a co-worker came to work with a cold & he does not feel just right tonight now. I do so hope he does not share with me if he is sick.

I too am headed to sleep now- Sweet Dreams..
