Good morning.

Tina, please hide that book from GG lol

It has snowed all night and a few more inches are set to fall for the morning....and school buses are delayed by an hour. By the looks of the road, school should have been cancelled. I refuse to GG on a bus in weather that I wouldn't drive in myself. So home today, she shall be.

Today will involve snow clean up and bread baking.

Have a good one.

Good morning. We're awfully foggy out. It will burn off before I have to go out. I will go out. My brother-sitter is already awake.
Ok, I'll hide the book from your GG, Sunny. I have several books to keep the littles active and creative.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

Good morning. Thank you, Sunny.
I woke to a computer that needed updating so that kept me mute for awhile. I will go out today to replenish my larder. The fog is not so bad today and the rains are to come in tomorrow night.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning !! It is COLD but sunny outside. A good day to be staying in.
I have put out the last of my cards, & made breakfast. Now I will clean one of the bedrooms while I wait on the postman. Then I will go downstairs to finish my wrapping.

Tonight we are going to my MIL's Christmas Party at the Nursing Home. I wish all of you a wonderful day

Have fun at your Christmas party, Carol.
Good morning. I am up and ready. We're supposed to get dumped on with rain tonight. I hope it goes easy on us. Gentle rain is so much better than heavy stuff. It won't cure our drought and will make things worse for fire danger. But all I can do is get ready for it as much as possible.
I hope everyone has a great day.

Ok..I a, going to have to talk to James---AGAIN I posted after Tina----and I went to "use full editor" which is why I remember, as I did nothing but type my response, so doing that was unnecessary.

I wish I knew what was happening..

anyway have messed around with my day scrubbing floors & cleaning my kitchen instead of going downstairs to wrap gifts---oh well, guess I will stay up tonight & do the wrapping.

Tina, I hope you get the type of rain that you need.

We had some rain and foggy weather too but today it's cold and extremely windy. We've been at Ginger's where the weather is in the 60's so this my driveway weather is chilling me to the bone. I think we must live in a wind tunnel. We haven't been to Ginger's since the hurricane after which she had to throw away everything in her frig and has not yet stocked it to mine and Johnny's taste. They don't eat butter or mayo so fixing Johnny an egg sandwich was a challenge.

I have yet to wrap any presents. I've got most of them ordered and have received some but can't get myself to wrapping. I'll start tomorrow.

It is raining now and blowing wind.
I wondered where you were, Sheri. I hope you got some good Colt time in. When my mother came to visit any of us kids, she always brought some necessities in case we were short on things. Mostly it consisted of a ham and snacks but she could be sure of something to eat when she came. And toilet paper. It is amusing to think about.
I am going to sleep well tonight, listening to the rain.
Sweet dreams all.

I too love to sleep when it is raining, it is such a soothing sound for sure. Enjoy your sleep time, Tina.

Sheri...it is colder where both of my girls live--I am glad that you got to go see Ginger.

I had a good handle on wrapping until I did nothing last night or tonight. Tomorrow I need to finish cleaning the house & then begin to wrap---I will be up late tomorrow night for sure.

I am headed to bed now. Sweet Dreams to you all.

Hi all..between the snow storms and wind storms we have had major power issues. The surge even ruined a GFI receptacle and blew my hair straightener at the same time. Today school was cancelled because the wind chill is at -36*C or -33*F in your temps. Then another storm for tomorrow...I am already passed the 'snow looking pretty' factor haha

I'm glad you got to see your family Sheri, how is Colt doing these days?

I'm still laughing about the toilet paper Tina, she really was prepared wasn't she.

Have fun wrapping those presents Junie, does Val arrive tonight or tomorrow?

Good morning. I woke early today. Because of the pouring rain and driving winds. It is an awesome thing to hear. After not hearing it much for a few years. But I feel for the people living in the burn areas nearby and other places around. They may have saved their houses from the fires but lose them in mudslides.
The local news even began early today to cover it. But there isn't much to see until the sun comes up
. I'm glad that you had no worse damage, Sunny. The electricity here is going steady at least.
I hope everyone keeps warm and dry today. And has a good day.

I am glad that school was cancelled, Sunny. Keep warm & keep safe. Hope you do not lose power too too often. This weather is not a good time for that.

Sheri: yes, how is Cole doing..

Well, Val has not said yet when she is coming, so I assume tomorrow. Weather wise it would be better if they came tonight, but I can see it messes with the girls routines when they come for an extra night, plus then Val has to pack more items. And with 3 she is packing plenty already, never mind Henry & the 2 of them. I need to get down & finish wrapping though.

Catch you all later.

No mudslides. Well at least no homes damaged by the ones that did happen. Yet, although the rains are over, there remains possibilities.
It was a quiet day here. Good for napping with light rain hitting my roof.

I hope that your do not have any problems with mud slides, Tina. So glad there is rain to help you have some good rest.

Well, there is ice and such tonight---It took Rod an extra 15 minutes to get home (so not so bad really) but all the media says it is bad out & to stay in if you can.

My Valarie & her family could well stay home this weekend, because of the cold & the ice. And while I want them to be safe---I of course will be sad if that happens..

Goodnight, Tina---sweet dreams.

Sweet Dreams to everyone. I too am headed to bed.

I guess no matter where we live.....Mother Nature gives us a reminder that she is in charge. It is so cold here that I can hear the roof rafters 'popping'from the heat in the attic and the frigidness of the wind outside. We are awaiting another snowstorm this evening.

Keep safe everyone.

Good morning. Do keep safe in your weather everyone.
I am cold. We have some cold following the storms and it is nippy indoors too. I may go back to bed to warm up. I don't have any major plans today.
I hope you all have a great day.

When Val & her family left southern Missouri to head this way, it was 65*F.. 10 minutes later it was much colder.

BUT they got here, and we all went to the Dudley Family Christmas in their bigger, so heavier car.

Everyone is asleep now but me and I am soon headed that way. It is 17 now (11:22pm) It just began sleeting once again when we got home around 8pm.

Very cold even in the house. Wind chill must be way lower than 17. I am thinking Brian & Val may be staying here tomorrow night as well.

Sweet dreams to you all. I am headed to bed.

I am so glad the family arrived safely...enjoy the time with the grands.

I have a sick little girl here this morning...the joys of school germs. It is snowing out and it seems to be warming up quickly out there, it looks like ice/snow pellets at the moment.

Oh, I am sorry you have a sick grandgirl, Sunny. I hope she gets well soon.
Good morning. I wish winter were almost over instead of just beginning. It is nice to think of sunshine and growing things. The winter solstice will be on Wednesday and after that the days will be a little longer each day. I am looking forward to it.
I hope you all have a great day.

WooHoo, it's up to a toasty 47* outside at 10:30 today. The grass is not crunchy any more. It's 65* in here because I had my oven on.

Talk about confusing us all. Yesterday was freezing, all day today was 67° windy as all get out and raining, tomorrow the high is 40°. Christmas is 60 and sunny.

So funny Tina because I usually take toilet paper to Ginger's house. I don't know why I just always throw a roll or two in my suitcase. Johnny thinks I'm crazy. Usually Ginger calls before we come and makes a grocery run but our visit was planned on the spur of the moment so she didn't have mayo or butter. How does a person live without mayo or butter? They will be here Tuesday until Saturday.

Hope everyone feels better at your house Sunny.

Colt is doing great, growing like a weed. Ginger has had to buy long pants for him twice this winter. Junie are you asking about Colby? Colby has improved a lot and hopefully will continue to improve. He's on the swim team so he's lost 3 pounds, which is a concern, but he's eating well. I think he's gonna be thin like his dad no matter what.

I have put TP in my luggage before, better to be safe ya know----

I will say goodnight now--& Sweet Dreams

I hope everyone wakes well tomorrow.
I did little bits of things around here. I sent Jonni grocery shopping with the list this afternoon. $135 later... Tomorrow I'll go to my restaurant supply place and pick up some things that are only to be gotten there. We should be set until after Christmas.
Sweet dreams all.

Hi all.

We got hit with freezing rain yesterday...what a mess. Today we are under a wind chill advisory.. GG is still under the weather, she had fevers all day yesterday...today a sore tummy and a cough. She has a Xmas concert Wednesday so I'll keep her home and hope she is better to attend.

I hope you are all ready for Xmas...it is good to hear that you will be Tina, I have seen the mess from the mud in California on the news...praying you are spared.

Good morning. I slept in today. It was lovely. Now I've got to finish my coffee and wake up.
I am going out today and I want to go early.
No mud here, Sunny. Just howling wind and chilly. I hope your GG is better in time for her concert.
Have a good day everyone.

Just got a call from Shelley and Colby has been released by another doctor. The only doctor left is the pulmonologist. His blood pressure, which has been the issue of late, was 102/62 this morning. God is good.

Rain last night and today. Thankful to be above freezing.

that is great news on Colby, Sheri--- clap

Sunny, I too hope that GG is well soon enough for the Christmas concert. Those are so very cute.

Tina, I see you did not go out after all. Please stay warm & safe.

I had a good time this weekend as my DD & her family were home, so I got my snuggle time in. AND I arranged the room where I have the crib so that the other 2 girls could sleep in the room as well (I have a pack n play & Val brings hers.)

Today Rod had an eye appt. & the nurse did not put as much dilating drops in them as the usual nurse does, so he was able to drive---so we ran some errands as well...it was a good but busy day.

Tomorrow is my Ceramic's Christmas party. at least it had better be we really did not discuss it much.

Sweet Dreams from me as well.

Good morning.

GG felt well enough to go to school today..so all is well for now.

It is freezing outside today...between the heat in here and the extreme cold outdoors, the steel door was frozen solid this morning. GG almost missed the bus while she was waiting for us to thaw the seal around the door lol

I hope all is well with everyone.

Good morning. We are in for a couple of warmer days so I am a happy woman.
Your frozen door story made me laugh, Sunny. I am glad she wasn't late for her bus. But so glad she is well now.
Have fun with your ceramics party, Carol. Another reason to be happy.
Have a great day everyone.

Hello..here I am finally !!

It got up to 41*F today. It is mighty cold right now though I must say.

Had a nice time today at my Ceramic's party. I have a new throw to cover up with, a new flameless candle bowl, a gift certificate for the place we eat at, & a friends pillow to mention a few of the items I got. WE then went to the place we usually eat, we reserved the table we wanted & had a good visit.

The guy that runs the place gave us 2 ceramics pieces and I cleaned them today to ready them to be fired. IT was a good day.

Then after supper, Rod & I went to get our hair cut. WE both look much better.

BUT now I am tired & it is time for me to go to sleep. sweet dreams

Good morning breakfast I am on my second cup, as I have been up since 7 am.

I need to decide what today is going to bring, but I think I will finish my coffee first.

I wish you all a great day.

Good morning.
Bring where, Carol?
I am on my first cup. I am going out to my restaurant supply place this morning. We are to get rain off and on for the next few days and I don't like driving in the rain. So today is it.
I hope everyone has a great day.

I know what you mean about the holidays & food. Me too.

Well the lady I needed to talk to at the bank had the day off---of course. So that was a run for nothing. I guess I go again tomorrow.

Headed downstairs to see what else needs wrapped.

Ginger is here so we went to get our nails done today and did a little shopping. Tomorrow we are going ice skating downtown Charlotte. I've completed my wrapping. Just hope Johnny's presents get here in time for Christmas.

I do not think I will shop online next year unless it is thru Amazon. I have 4 items coming yet. They all have given me unrealistic delivery times..to mention one reason why they are noit here yet....I cannot do that.

I am headed down to finish my gift wrapping...

I bought Colt a gift on Amazon and didn't notice it's not actually sold by Amazon. I've bought things through Amazon but sold by others before but Amazon was responsible for the sale. Not so in this case and the item is too large and no one answers the customer service line. It's written at the very bottom of the receipt "This item is sold by Customs4less and is not returnable through Amazon.com."

Hi all.

GG shared her 'bug' with me....having the stomach flu is doing me in.

I only shop Walmart online...I am so leary of using a credit card. I never even thought of the situation such as that Sheri...does Amazon take any responsibility?

OH MY !!! I am so sorry that GG shared, Sunny. I hope it is short lived.

be careful out in the rain, Tina. I too hate to go out in the rain.

I have to run errands again today. Good news is that I got my wrapping done. I do need to buy my sister a gift yet though. I am hoping the local pharmacy will be able to help me.

I wish you all a good day.

I managed to get to the grocery store today without getting too wet. People are out on the roads already for holiday travel. The freeways going up my canyon are jammed up now. They are trying to make it to Vegas or Tahoe or something before the heavy stuff hits.
I've got bananas and milk and bread and stuff ready to hole up for the rainy Christmas. I may even bake something.
I hope you found a gift for your sister, Carol.

I found out tonight that my DD in Virginia is starting for home tomorrow they will be here the 24th. BUT we will be leaving the 24th. Rod is walking around MAD. IMO he is not looking forward to being around all of Brian's family over the holidays & now with the excuse of Emily coming, he would prefer to stay home. IMO we will not.

thing is Em & family are going to my sister's Christmas Day & then they will be at Chris's moms house Christmas night. They pretend they do not need a place to stay...so who really knows where they are staying.

I should have gotten bananas too Tina. and some other stuff..but Emily would not say what they were doing or when.

Going to gp back to washing bed clothes for incase I need them for next week.

I will say good night now. sweet dreams

First, I forgot to say..yes I found a gift---

I bought a rather large Christmas Ornament,,it is artificial Holly on a crystal bulb...

She likes the crystal & who does not need a mistletoe at Christmas ?...

I have no idea where they will stay..but I left her a message on F/B & I told her to bring her key to the house, so IF she wanted she could use our house as a hotel.
From what I have heard, her MIL's house is not set up for them..and this was before the baby was born, so,......

She rarely says what is going on with them---she will just show up one time or another & act like I knew she was coming....She did this the day they were going to Virginia. I had Micah & so they stopped to get him--what they failed to say was WHEN they were coming & that they would ALL need to eat...par for the course.

I have learned to be ready....

(I am still drying clothes) but I will head to bed eventually

Good morning. I hope you have a good holiday with your grands, Carol.
It's wet out. It sounds like a good day to bake something. I just have to figure out what. Maybe do some laundry as well. We'll see.

Good Morning.

I saw on the news/weather that some bad/wet weather is headed your way. I am glad that you got yoiur items yesterday. I would love to have time to bake...
Every year I think to tell myself to make cookies/breads, etc. & put them in the freezer for December--& every year I do not do that.
Perhaps next year.....

Today I am off to my sister's house so we can exchange gifts. Then I will head back to begin packing clothes so we can go to my DD's with the triplets tomorrow.
I am so excited.

Sunny, no Amazon does not take responsibility for this time WHICH is not posted on their website. It is posted on the address label. Surprise! It's a Flash costume that I had altered. I had to cut the shoe covers off but he wore it without even noticing so all is not lost.

BUT I ordered Johnny a suit which was supposed to be here today and today I got an email saying my shipping had been upgraded because my order was mailed late and won't be here until the 29th. Sorry. So is upgrading my shipping supposed to be a gift to me? Why not just keep it as it was and get my order here on time.

Juniegirl, I always know that Ginger IS coming but she doesn't always tell me what time they are leaving their home or when they'll be here. Like this week, I knew the day they were leaving their house but I asked and asked for a time frame but she wouldn't say. We spoke on the phone the morning they left and she still wouldn't say what time they were leaving. I thought maybe Chris has to work and she didn't know but he didn't. After a while she started texting me so I figured she was in the car but she wouldn't confirm they were on the way. It's weird. I finally told her that I wasn't waiting around the house if she had no idea when they'd arrive and after a few hours she told me. I don't understand it. It's like they're waiting to tell us hoping something better will come along. Weirdos.

I've given up on trying to figure out people these days.

I feel a bit better today.....yesterday was awful. DH said if I'm not well by tomorrow he is making a 'chicken run' tomorrow in town....he said fried chicken would be just fine for Xmas supper. lol

Yep I agree. My sister asked her directly & she said she did not know yet--mind you they were in the car driving from VA already. I now I did not raise this girl this way...

Good morning. Happy Christmas Eve.
Sunny, a good idea. Rest and recover tomorrow.
It's still raining out and I hope it quits soon. I need to climb on my roof and track down a new leak. Fun, it is not so much.
I hope everyone has a nice day.

I did not get up on my roof today. Neither did I go to Home Depot to get the things I needed. It kept on raining throughout the day. Monday is soon enough.
I'm gonna cook tomorrow. I am just not sure what yet. We are celebrating Wednesday.
Have a very Merry Christmas and sweet dreams.

Merry Christmas Tina. kissie

I hope your roof is an easy fix.

The weather here isn't very nice. We had snow last night but DH was only called out to work after our supper last night. Then he was only called out again this morning once the gifts were opened. The high winds have already knocked out power for over 7000 people in the province at the moment....there are a lot of turkeys not getting roasted at the moment. Thankfully today is leftovers for us.

I haven't enjoyed such an easy Xmas like this in forever...Xmas eve supper is going to be the new tradition here. thumbup

The grands are playing with toys, I am still in my pj's....and I am sitting down for the rest of the day. It is wonderful.

It was supposed to snow today, as of the forecast last weekend when it snowed (we're only 300 elevation, and in a deep valley, so it rarely snows); but today it's 48 and sunny out :).

I have a 10lb ham in the crock pot, for dinner. Will serve with julienne au grotten potatoes, green bean casserole, candied yams, acorn squash, honey rolls, and crescent rolls. Generally do Turkey for turkey day, ham for Christmas, but some years I do it the other way.

I told Trey that he could stay up all night to catch Santa, but had him take his benedryl at 6, he was out by 9 when he finally got relaxed.

James, smart going on the Benadryl - dad said you could stay up but you feel asleep - dad is still the good guy :) I've never cooked a ham in the crock pot. Do you add liquid?

Sunny, glad you're feeling better.

Tina, be careful up on your roof.

It takes way longer than you'd think, depending on the size, if it's too big you have to wrap the top in foil and pray for the best. I would definately recommend adding some water; I put a 10lb ham in with 2 cups, but there will be a lot of juice from the water they inject into the ham.

I am not crawling on my roof today. I would take wing in the winds.
It was warmer this morning at 40*. But still colder than I would have liked.
Travel safely wherever you are, Carol.

I lit my fireplace for the first time since John died, I think. But it's too windy out and blowing smoke back down the chimney and inside. I had to close the glass enclosure. Well, it looks warmer in here anyway.

Good morning.
It is 42* out and I didn't see anything that said 60* in the 7 day forecast. I am not use to this bone cold without relief. And the wind does not help. Or maybe I'm just getting old. Jonni kept the fire burning last night.
Today I go to Home Depot. And when the wind eases up. I climb on the roof.
I hope you all have a great day.

Tina, it is 70° and windy here. It must have rained during the night because it feels damp out side. We're still 9 inches under for rain this year.

James, they do grow up fast. I can't believe Darbi will be in college next year. Seems like she was born yesterday.

Hi all.

I dismantled the tree and Xmas decor...I just finished cleaning the mess and mopped. It is all over for another year.

It snowed about 10 inches last night and so far I have only shoveled the step. I need to start the tractor and clean a path wide enough for DH to get in from work. I dread getting older with the weather where we live.

Anyone have any New Year's plans?

Sunny I'm getting ready to do the same thing.

We're having communion and dinner at church on New Year's Eve.

I don't know much about Obamacare except that it doesn't work the way everyone thought it would. A friend signed for the first time this year because she lost her job. She was told that her income "doesn't qualify her for insurance." I told her she wasn't understanding that statement correctly because it doesn't make since. But she got a letter saying her income doesn't qualify her for insurance in NC and that NC did not take the option of offering Medicaid to people who did not make enough money to qualify for insurance BUT not to worry because she will not be charged a penalty for not having insurance. What????

Yes, apparently "some" of what I have heard/read about Obama care is a money making scheme. IF you do not have insurance you can "simply" pay the penalty......somewhere around $2500.00 last I heard........and no you cannot avoid it, the IRS knows if you need to pay or not by your taxes...and everyone should be paying their taxes, right ???

Well anyway Hi everyone !! It is good to be back home. (& to my computer)
I have read back & for the most part Christmas was nice with you all. That makes me happy. I was having a good time until a 48 hr. bug his me around noon on Christmas Day.

I think I am now back to 100% thankfully. Now if I just did NOT share with my granddaughters & grandson that will be wonderful to me.

I wish everyone a great (and warm) day. Tina you be safe & come in & tell us when you are down from the roof so we all know you are in the house safe.

I'm glad you had a good time for at least part of your visit. And glad that you made it home safely, Carol.
I did not go up on my roof today. The wind is still a formidable force. I'm hoping for some roof time soon.
I am not sure how the Medical insurance works these days. Mine stayed pretty much the same.

well as far as insurance goes, this next year we will have insurance thru Rod's work. BUT..he will retire in late October. I hope we get it all figured out by then. It is much more complicated than I would like it to be. I swear my parents just went signed up for Medicare & were done...their private work insurance became their secondary....

Glad yhoiu heeded the winds, Tina...there will be better times, I am sure.

well I intend to go in march to ask questions. I fear I will have trouble with Rod. I think he is thinking us buying private insurance & NOT using medicare is the wise move---I wish he would find out the facts. see, I will be drawing off of him in SSI and I do not know if I also need to wait on him to go on medicare or if I have to wait another year until I too am 66.

I hate all of this. BUT having said that, I am now going to bed. sweet dreams to you all.

I think he will find out private insurance is too expensive. Even with medicare the the extra that you have to buy to make you fully covered is crippling. I think we paid $400 a month for John's.
Did your DD and family use your house in your absence?
Sweet dreams all.

Good morning.

Nice to see Junie back with us...hoping your 'bug' is over itself.

I am glad we do not have to worry about primary insurance...I guess that is the trade off for being taxed so high. We have to pay for secondary insurance though to cover meds, physio and psychology needs if needed. DH's work pays 65% of that when he is working. We drop it when he isn't working and pray services aren't needed.

What happens when people have no insurance and can't pay the medical bills in the U.S.?

Good morning.
People who can't afford insurance here get medicaid. It is a national and per state funded help. Nationally that is over 12% of the people.
Over a certain age, they get medicare, something they paid into their entire working lives along with social security. The ideas are simple and pay for themselves if the government would keep their fingers out of the pie like they are supposed to do.
It is still windy out but seems less than before. If it dies out, I can get on the roof.
But my oldest is coming by today and we're exchanging gifts. It is going to be a fun day.
I hope you all have a good one.

Thanks for explaining Tina....have a fun day with your family.

I headed out to get a few groceries....it is snowing and is supposed to continue for the next few days. They wanted $9 for a handful of strawberries, $8 for a small bag of apples and $9 for a dozen of small oranges (all on sale). How are people supposed to eat healthy? I took the apples and oranges but to GG's dismay the berries stayed there. I guess the one good thing is that after I buy the necessities...there is absolutely no money for junk food.

That's a lot of money for so little. I'm sorry. Have you any frozen berries to cheer your GG up? I am mostly sorry because I believe the prices are not going to get much better. They will improve during their season but off season, not so much.

Yes. one day a container (not even a qt.) of strawberries are $6.99 and the next they may be $3.99. In the summer they sometimes come down to $2.99 all the same container---not a quart..somewhere between 12 & 16 oz. usually.

a not real full pint of blue berries or blackberries can run around $5 to $6 dollars each. I buy them rarely. Usually when Henry is coming to stay. Luckily for me he is equally happy with Welch's fruit snacks. (the gummy things)

I just do not understand how we are supposed to live and eat when wages are what they are and then it costs so much to live......Here I thought yoiur life was supposed to be better in your "golden" years....I just do not see it.

Making Taco Crunch tonight for supper. I wanted soup, but DH does not care for it, so......

Sunny, every state doesn't offer Medicaid, like NC for instance. From what my friends letter said she is just without insurance (since she doesn't make enough money to get Obamacare) and NC opted out of offering Medicaid for adults without dependent children. She takes daily medication so I don't know how she'll afford it all. Seems contradictory since Obamacare is supposedly for everyone.

I've got to sign up for Medicare soon. I wasn't going to sign up but from what I've read there's a penalty if I don't. What a crock.

I'm thankful I still have blueberries and strawberries from this past summer in the freezer.

I just wish I would get a letter in the mail and it would say "Carol, you need to signup for this medical insurance now and this is what the government will do for you in your retirement"
--real simple like----but no--not so simple. rolz I just wish it was next year already..so the "decisions" were over & done already.

Sheri, I heard if you are working and/or have other insurance methods available to you, you can put off signing up until that is no longer the case. I would go to a SSI center near you and see what NC's rules are. I will be 65 in June. I will go to the office in End of Feb/March--then I will know where I stand when Rod retires in October.

Tina did you ask?? my youngest DD is not coming by AT ALL to see us. I have no idea where in Illinois that she is staying while home or with who. She knew I was not well, apparently my oldest DD told her, but did she call & even say so much as Merry Christmas to me?? NOPE

She finally could not avoid it & tonight messaged me to say that we would exchange gifts Sunday Morning after the wedding we are all going to. (so have to pack them & take them to the wedding in Missouri. SMDH in general.. I get that she is a grown women with children and a life of her own, but she could have at least let me know they got home safely, ........or something.

Time for me to go to bed. Sweet Dreams to you all.

Well, that sucks, Carol. Your daughter should treat you better.
But you should go to SS sooner than that. Sometime after the new year.
Sweet dreams all.

Hi all.

Here you have to apply a year early for any kind of benefits due to you at a certain age....and they surely make it complicated.

We are in for another bad storm this afternoon and overnight. They are calling for about 16 inches of snow this time....with flooding along the coast.

Carol, I hope you get cuddles and kisses in with the grands...we can't change our kids no matter how hard we try. I have given up on that idea.

I will get cuddles in Sunny. During the wedding there is a sitter coming for the 3..(or 4) babies of the family. Then after we eat at the reception, Rod & I will go back to the Hotel and babysit the 7 Grandchildren. Good thing at least 4 of them will be sleeping by then. so basically we will be reading/playing with the 3 oldest boys.

I hope al goes well for you today, Tina

Yay, Christmas is over. I've got some happy kids. Well, adult kids but kids. And Teddy still gets kid stuff.

I am always sad when Christmas is over---I like the anticipation of it all the best. It is great though when one's kids are happy though isn't it?? Glad Teddy is happy as well. And kids are kids so if they are adult or young does not matter really....

I have winds in the oven as I type. I will turn them into hot wings when they are cooked. mashed potatoes & whatever veggie I pull out of the freezer to go with.

Good news is I have chicken wing tips saved back in the freezer to use for chicken stock---I am one happy lady right now.

Yes, Christmas anticipation is good. I just had to wait and that never happens. I was beginning to think that it wouldn't.
Wings sound good, Carol. I have never bought into the hot wings myself. I would like some of the soup you're making better.

When I get enough pieces I will let you know and you and Teddy can come to eat it with me.

I did not think I would care for the wings---I also am NOT a hot person...

They were FANTASTIC !!!! While I did make mashed potatoes and a veggie, between Rod & I we ate 22 pieces of the hot wings between us. I do not know about him, but 11 is far too many for this "supposed to be eating healthy" girl to be eating at one sitting. BUT Gracious I am glad that I did.

I make wings with only garlic, s&p, lemon and butter. My family like them that way.
I'm going to say good night now while I can. New modem is going to be here early next week.
Sweet dreams all.

YAY for new modems....

I make a recipe of wings with soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce & I think butter---you cook frozen wing pieces in a Dutch oven. They too are wonderful.

I will make them soon I think. Then you have the sauce for the mashed potatoes.

Going to sleep soon...g'nite

Who is getting married, Carol? Do you have to spend the night?
It started out kind of warm with the rains we had today. It's slowly getting colder. I like the rains but not the cold so much.

Speaking of modems, the Cable Modem Rental fee with Comcast is now $10/mo here in Portland, OR. The best cable modem currently on the market, outright, costs $110, easily paying for itself in a year... Made my internet a little cheaper over all the years I've been a subscriber, lol.

The "little" girl (she was 2) my oldest (15 at the time) began watching, is getting married.
She has now just began her Master's program in whatever therapy field she is going into, after graduating with a 4 yr. degree.
she and her fiancé decided to do a "theme wedding "Great Gatsby" and so a Dec. 31st wedding it is. He has just a few months ago got his license to be a registered pharmacist.
So yes a destination wedding, & we will be staying with my oldest DD in their room, and my youngest DD & her family will be in an adjoining room. "Grandpa" & I will be babysitting after we eat dinner at the reception. AND My 2 oldest grandsons (Luke & Henry) are part of the wedding party. That will be ever so cute.

Did I mention we will have to take our Pack N Play, and diapers, and the 2 boys Christmas Gifts...
LORD I have NO idea why Rod ever thought we could get by with buying the Chevy Cruz....it has proven inconvenient more than once.

I may be back early tomorrow but then I will not be back until Sunday at some point.

but anyway... sweet dreams.

Decent fee, Comcast tries to nickle and dime people at every avenue... I finally called in and said "Look, I'm, low income and need a faster speed than your "Internet Essentials" program (if you qualify as low income according to their guidelines you get super cheap internet, but on a much slower plan) , otherwise I'm going to have to go to another provider", and they updated me to keep my current plan but at $60/mo, which isn't too bad either.

Hi all.

I've had my modem changed twice in the past year....this time I pay an extra $6 a month, with no difference in my opinion. I have bundled services~cable/phone/internet.

Have a great time at the wedding Carol.

I have to take GG to her mom's later, they are having a belated Christmas with Grandboy's paternal grandmother....apparently she does this every year because she works 12 hour shifts on December 24, 25 and 26th.

Good morning. Happy end of 2016. It is going to end rainy. I hope the trend continues.
That sounds like a plan, Sunny. I hope she has a wonderful time.
Anyone have plans for tonight? I plan on sleeping through it all, I hope. I like sleeping.
