Daughter & family are on their way home around 1:00pm....

I am always sad to see that..but then I was glad they were here....The "girls" are much more aware than they were last summer. The moment they saw me they say anyone they smiled (in the hopes of being taken out of their car seats.....

The good news is they will be back in 3 weeks for our "Dudley Christmas" which will be the weekend of the 17th. Our Dudley Christmas the 17th and then "our" Christmas the 18th. ... Unless we go to their house for actual Christmas. why

Good. I'm glad you got to enjoy them for a bit and show them off. Is Henry still liking them? Or is he slightly overwhelmed?

The triplets have slightly overwhelmed me and I'm far away :) I've watched the show with the 5 baby girls and I don't know how that mother is able to carry on a conversation much less do anything else but she seems unphased by it all. Good to have babies when young.

Yep, I think so too, I know I could not do that now either...Val just seems to go on about her day like normal....

I know I could not. Cuddling a baby is fun. But the work goes with the young.
All day I have been chilly. It never got above 47* outside my door today. And rained off and on all day. A light drizzly rain. And I've been cold in the house too. I am looking forward to my bed tonight.
Sweet dreams everyone.

Good Morning !!

Once again I have been up since 3:30 a.m. Apparently, this has become a bad habit with me.

Anyway, may the Holiday Season begin !!!

Good morning. Happy Monday.
Our rain swept down from Alaska. It was cold and still is although the rain is gone. 42* this morning. Only to go up about 10 degrees today. I'd rather skip winter altogether but we need the rain and snow. So I'll stay cold and grateful.
Today I need to go out for some things, milk, bread, bananas. the usual. And I'm feeling pretty good so it will happen.
I hope everyone has a great day.

I'm chilly too. The heat is on so I'm not sure why. Think I'll put on a long sleeved shirt. We are supposed to get rain this week and I'm praying we do. It's so dry and I'm concerned that everything is going to die. I need to be doing something, actually need to do a lot of things, but I can't get motivated today. The Christmas tree is ready to be decorated so I guess I'll start there. The getting started is the hardest part. :)

Got my first Christmas card Saturday. From dodge.

I can't imagine not being able to sleep. One of my sisters is like you Carol. She can go to sleep but wakes up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. She's tried a lot of different things and has had a little good effect from diffusing essential oils. Try that. Hope it helps.

Thanks so much Sheri. I have been able to go back to sleep the last few times (much later in the morning for a bit, but then I drag the rest of the day anyway.

Wonder if you turn on a constant noise. I sleep with a fan going. And I sleep by myself. That may do the trick for ya.

Thank both of you ladies...I think I have the problem solved. why

I have no idea why it chose now to show it's head, but I drug all day & then after supper I woke up and wanted to do things

Back YEARS ago my DH would work a lot of afternoons & midnights. I would do most of my housework at night when it was quiet, & the kids were asleep & so was alert & active late at night....

I guess I decided to like that routine once again rolz However I am no longer in my 30's....& this "not 30" lady needs her sleep, oh well...

I guess I will soon go watch TV perhaps that will tire me.... prayers

Hi all. I was supposed to take Grandboy to physiotherapy today but they cancelled once again. I told DD to contact the hospital and ask to change therapists...she cancels than we have to wait a month, then she cancels that one again. Meanwhile a 16 month old is not getting his therapy.

I made some bread, buns and cinnamon buns already...we are supposed to get a snowstorm tonight.

I haven't been sleeping well lately either...I use a fan, but strange dreams are taking their toll on me.

MIne is having just enough sleep when I get up to potty to get me by so I cannot get back to sleep.

I think that is turning into a habit plus the other as I have said.

Sunny--sounds as if your DD does need to find a new therapist....That is uncalled for esp. since if your grand boy needs the therapy he needs it on a scheduled basis. not once every 3 or 4 months...I wish you all luck.

Good morning.

It snowed about 6 inches through the night, the plow just passed and schools are open. I have to take GG to an appt today at lunch time, thankfully the clinic is just across from the school. I want a referral for a second opinion about her throat clearing tic.

Then I have to check the drugstore to see if they have a 'knock off' elf on the shelf. I was told last night that the elf always visits on Dec.1st to little kids and all her friends get visits. I don't mind going through all the motions of it but I refuse to pay $50 for a real one. The joys of school rspb

Good morning. I hope you can find your elf, Sunny. I've never seen one in person but would not pay that amount for anything like it. Is your snow still pretty? Our ski resorts are open.
I'm going to run some errands today. That will be enough for this day.
I hope everyone has a good day.

I too think that is a LOT of money for the "Elf". I am thankful that it was not around when my girls were small. I hope you either find a "deal" or a "generic" one.

I have to run a few errands as well. Then to my sister's to pick up an Avon Order.

Lemon chicken is in the crock pot as we speak. We had it at Emily's on October. I hope it comes out well, Rod loved it.

I do like the pictures of the elf that show up on the internet.
Lemon chicken is awesome, Carol. Enjoy it.
I ran my errands today and then baked a cherry pie when I got home. And then I took a nap. That means a good day was had. Now to think about dinner.

Elf on the shelf--now to come up with a lot of places for him to be when Trey is home---and "WHY" he is in said places....oh the fun you'll have....

Cherry pie, huh??? wow, I am on my way over---I love cherry pie & I never make it b/c Rod does not like it... I think that and a cup of coffee (or a glass of milk), sounds like dinner to me.

Good morning. Happy December! My favorite month.
I woke way too early and I'm cold. I've been up a couple hours adjusting the heating and just tinkering in general. But I may just crawl back under the blankets until the sun rises.
I need to take care of the normal business that a new month brings. But I have to wait until the banks open for that.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Good Morning !! Happy December from me as well. Sorry that you woke so early, Tina----I know how that goes. It is not fun.

I had planned on going out for a few things I did not get done yesterday.
BUT, Rod has a package coming today (before the end of the day rolz ) so I will likely just stay home...which is bad b/c I cannot finish the errands tomorrow.

Good afternoon all.

The doctor cancelled yesterday, rescheduled for Friday instead...so GG and I went for a 'meat' run instead. I prepped the meat for meat pies last night and made the pastry this morning. I am glad to be done one more Christmas chore.

I also called the pharmacy and had them pre-bag up an elf..(not the real 'elf')so I could pick it up. On sale for $13 and I had $10 worth of points to use on it. A great deal and one excited child this a.m. when it was dangling from the light fixture.

Off to read back and catch up.

I have a friend who wakes up during the night and if she can't go back to sleep she just gets up, goes to WalMart is she needs too, or the all night drug store, cleans, cooks, whatever and then goes back to sleep when she's sleepy again. Suppose that's better than tossing and turning. But if you have to get up with the children or for work that won't work.

I googled Elf on the Shelf and Target, Kohls, and other stores have it for less than $30.00. Shelley and Ginger have one and are constantly trying to think of ideas of where to put that thing. It was fun for a year or two but not so much anymore.

Glad you found a good deal Sunny.

We finally got a little rain but along with that came tornado warnings. Johnny got a warning on his phone that said TAKE COVER NOW but we didn't see a tornado.

YAY for good deals and Pharmacy points !! And yay for being a great Grammy !! Happy Grands are the best.

At the pharmacy I go to, I get to take 1/2 off of the full price of an item, if you have a full punched card--I save the cards for Gifts.

Sheri, I know I am glad that I do not have to come up with ideas for "the Elf"

I am still waiting.....

Yikes tornadoes...keep safe.

It is storming outside, they cancelled school ahead to prepare for it...we are supposed to get over a foot of the white stuff. It's the wet, sticky...you know your gonna lose power kind of day.

a foot of snow..that is about 11 inches too too much to my notion....

Well, my delivery came===at 3pm....I could have gotten my errands done, & been home before the delivery--and to top it all off, the Fed-Ex guy dropped the box on the end of the porch & left...I did not even need to be here...

Supper will be leftovers. However I am turning the chicken into BBQ chicken...I hope the Lemon flavor does not over-power the meat flavor.

The lemon just will add a touch of zest to the BBQ, Carol. It should be good.
A foot of snow is a full foot too much in my opinion. Keep safe, Sunny.
I would love to be able to dictate package arrival times, Carol.
I think a wee nap is called for.

Thanks for the reinforcement comment on the lemon BBQ Tina...

Well wherever Rod ordered his stuff from, e-mailed Rod & said they would deliver today, sometime before the end of the business day, and that "someone" would have to sign for said package...HE was at work, so I got elected to be here to sign.
well it came at 3 pm but the guy tossed it onto the corner of our porch and he left....I am thinking that my signature on the places form, looks a LOT like the Fed-Ex truck driver's...LOL

Next time you are out, look for a Mr. Coffee that is programmable, Tina. They are very reasonable. I fix mine up every night.
Then Rod has hot coffee ready when he wakes up.

No, I have a Bunn pot, 2 minute pot of coffee, and a Kuerig for a cup at a time. But I don't like the kilowatts that they pull. So I do one cup at a time with coffee bags, like tea bags but coffee. If I need a bigger amount, I have a French press. Much cheaper and faster than any pot of coffee. And better, too. I'm good. I was just saying....
Going to bed for real this time. Sweet dreams.

Junie, every time I hear lemon chicken I think of Everybody Loves Raymond. That was the only thing Debra could cook and Ray was sick of it. :) I've never tried it.

Colt's Elf was hanging in their Christmas tree today. Colt gets furious at that Elf.

Good morning.
Why was Colt mad a the elf, Sheri?
I wish I could sleep a solid eight hours. But I seem to have a 6 hour bladder and then I'm up for awhile. If I do go back to bed, it messes with my dreams and such. I need to find my happy place. I'll work on it.
Today I need to go out for a bit. I'll take care of business.
I hope all have a great day.

Yes, why does Colt not like the Elf ??

I have about a 4 hr. bladder that can be stretched to a 6...I do not mind getting ujp to use the bathroom, but I then usually cannot go back to sleep.

Sheri, I would not have ever made the lemon chicken, from just reading the recipe. however my DD made it when Rod came out to VA to pick me up. he loved it so I got the recipe.
it is a good dish...but I made the plain Lemon chicken, not the one with dill.

It is good, but a agree with my DD. One needs to shred the meat on their plate and then add some of the "broth" from the slow cooker.

Tina, the BBQ chicken made from the left over chicken would have been good IF I had of used BBQ sauce and not Manwich. The Manwich was too tangy for the chicken. And I drained the juice from the meat, so it was not that flavor--it was definitely the Manwich flavor---good with beef but chicken not so much.

Off to begin my day..I wish you all a good day.

I am heading to bed also. I really want the winds to settle down outside because I have to crawl on the roof and clean it off. But if I go up in 80 mph winds, I'll get blown off. It's a single story but it's a long step down.
Sweet dreams all.

Keep safe Tina.

Our weather has been awful, we lost power and got it back, then lost it again.Trees broke on a lot of power lines. I had to pack my deep freezer with snow to save my items.

Praying today goes well.

Good morning.
I hope your power remains on now, Sunny.
I have laundry to do today. And getting my son bathed and things. It's going to be glorious sleeping on clean bedding tonight.
It's kind of sad though, waking up looking forward to bed time. Isn't it?
I hope everyone has a good day.

Naw, waking up & looking forward to bedtime is not sad...(at least I do not think so)

Sorry for the frequent power loss, Sunny. But hey, at least it is in Winter----this way you have the snow & ice & cold temps to help you with your food. I thought as long as you do not open a chest freezer, it should keep the food safe for 24 hours>>>But then I guess that you had power loss for longer than that??

I do not have a frost free chest freezer. I can promise you THAT will never happen again. The good news is as long as I keep the "button" that is inside the freezer frost free, I am good to go.

Good morning.

We got our tree and put it up Saturday night....GG decorated it Sunday morning.

Then I also took the kids to a b-day party yesterday...they had fun. G-boy is twice the size of all the kids his age...feature wise as well. I think he is going to be a big man like his father was.

Today will be a laundry day.

Good morning. I am up. I am not sure how I am feeling yet. I slept more than 7 hours and it feels odd. Coffee will help, I'm sure.

How fun for you, Sunny. A birthday party with lots of friends is good.

Off to get coffee and try to wake up for real.
May each of you have a blessed day.

Aw, a birthday party..how nice..and to watch your GG decorate the tree, what fun !!!

I looked out the window when we were eating lunch out yesterday & saw a front loader...so of course I immediately thought of my oldest grandson & it was hard not to cry.

Today are a few errands for me, a trip to the Post Office, and I have to take my Mother to a Drs. appt. It seems it is always something.

I wish you all a wonderful day as well.

I am glad you got an appointment, Sunny.

Tina, Colt gets mad at the Elf because the Elf is always doing something wrong or messing up his toys or causing Christmas tree ornaments to fall off the tree. That Elf is very active and aggravating.

Sunny, 31 hours without power. Guess you have a fireplace or wood stove.

Junie, so 8 hours of sleep is a good thing. Right? Hope you were able to sleep last night.

We're getting a lot of rain. I'm trying not to complain about it because you all know we need it desperately.

Did I tell you that Colby joined the swim team? His lungs are up to 70% and I'm hoping swimming will help him further. He can live fine with 70% but sports will be an issue. Anyway, Shelley joined my gym so he can practice in the pool and I met Shelley to work out after she dropped the gang off at school. Neither of us has worked out since March 29th when Colby went to the hospital but today we're physically fit.

Swimming is the best exercise for breathing issues..it helped a little boy in our family get back the full function of his diaphragm after it was left partially paralyzed after heart surgery.

Well grandboy will go bare feet for three more months then get his boot fitting in March. He is improving slowly but surely.

Today I am making egg rolls, pizza rolls, taco and donair rolls. It will be a long day. lol

Good morning.
I wish you could send samples of those rolls around the internet, Sunny. I'm pretty sure I would be a regular paying customer.
Am very glad you got your ceramics time in, Carol. That gives me happy feelings every Tuesday.
I have to go out this morning. Something I've talked about but put off. Now I am out of bananas and that is important. It is just about the only fruit Teddy eats. Well, the only naked fruit or vegetable he eats without a lot of work and processing. So out I go.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Yes thanks Tina--I had a good day. I think going there helps me get thru my week.

Sunny--glad you finally got grand baby in to see the Dr. I had those issues with both my girls as well. Hoping the issue resolves itself quickly.

and I agree with Tina---perhaps you should open a mail order shop....those rolls sure sound good.

off to get more Christmas done---supper in the slow cooker, so I am good.

lol I'll add you all to the list of people asking me to cook for them....my nephew was in the other day begging me to cook extra and sell to them. Honestly, here it is not worth the few extra dollars...the supplies cost too much here for what a person could charge.

I only made half the amount from last year. Mind you, I still made 120 rolls in total. Next chore is the baking...tomorrow I hope.

Today shall be a day of cleaning and mopping...and I still need to get to the mail by tomorrow to mail cards and packages as well.

Good morning. It's cold and I didn't want to leave my bed. But coffee will fix that.
I would like the basic recipe for your rolls, please, Sunny. I can figure out the fillings.
I plan on getting a little shopping done today. For Christmas. There is a mild love/hate relationship with that. I love gifting, I hate trying to figure out what will excite my son. Teddy is so difficult to figure out.
I hope everyone has a good day.

Sorry to hear that Tina--but yes there is time yet....

I got my living room decorated today, the bills paid, and I now have a plan on how I should finish Christmas.

Rod has tomorrow off & we are going to spend the day (well hopefully the whole day) together.
Every year we like to go to a small town that is known for it's craft stores, and then do a small bit of Christmas shopping.

Tomorrow is the day. So I will likely not be back in until tomorrow evening.

I wish you all a very Good Night ! Sweet Dreams !

Good morning. I've been up awhile. Just waiting on my store to open and the post office too.
It's cold here also, 56* inside, 48* outdoors. And we're to get a bit of rain this weekend. Every drop counts.
I hope everyone has a great day.

It's cold here too. Around 40°.

Maybe we should all order the spring water I'm hearing about on TV right now. One lady ordered it and received a surprise check for $14,000.00. Another lady says she got "a hundred G's" right after ordering it and another got her house paid off. I don't know about you but I believe them. :)

I'll take some off that spring water please.

I made my post office and grocery run yesterday...then came home to a full day and evening of Xmas baking. The only thing left to do is hand deliver cards.

It is minus 4 degrees F today, brrrr.

Tina, the basic roll recipe is ~Homemade Wonton Wrappers: 1 egg, 1/3 c. water, 2 c. all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp. salt. Mix by hand, knead a few times...rest 30 min...and roll very thin and cut into small squares.

Good morning. I think I will take my 49* and be happy with it.
Keep warm, my friends.
I have no great plans for today. My legs are feeling yesterday's efforts so I'll take it easy on them today.
Thank you for the recipe, Sunny. I'm pretty lazy. I think I'd buy my wonton wrappers. I have a bunch of organic ones in my freezer right now.

I too vote with Tina for store-bought wrappers.

I am way tired tonight--I was looking for an easy pasta salad recipe, but I think I will stop & go to sleep now--G'nite.

Sleep tight & keep warm everyone...

Tina , store bought is the way to go...they are hard to get here so sometimes I have to make them.

We lost power for a few hours again yesterday...it's getting ridiculous. I am going to have to start pricing and saving for a small generator after all. I can do without power for most
things but my fridge and freezer cannot.

I did get all my cards hand delivered yesterday....another thing off the list.

Junie, this is my favorite recipe for pasta salad.

1/2 box Fusili, boxed pasta
Few pieces of diced tomato, green pepper and grated carrot.
1/2 cup Italian Dressing
1/2 cup French Dressing
1/4 cup Salad Dressing~mayo
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp parsley
sprinkle pepper and dash of salt

Cook pasta, rinse and chill.
Combine Zesty Italian Dressing, French Dressing, Mayo, sugar, parsley, pepper and and in separate container. Mix well.

Combine dressing mixture with veggies and then add cold pasta. Refrigerate before serving.

Good morning.
That sounds like a lovely way to spend the day, Carol. Have fun.
I hope you can get a generator soon, Sunny. It's a very good thing to have.
Today I am going to change bedding and things. It's my regular thing to do. I love the routine.

Glad that you mentioned that, Tina--I need to do that as well. Thanks for the reminder. I have a set of sheets that are not flannel, but they are never cool, so I think they will be perfect for winter. I will try them this time.
'
'After the the current sheets are in the wash machine, I will go get the tree. (ornaments are already in the LR)

Hi all, yesterday GG and I went to my niece's house to help her decorate her tree and such...she is only 13 years old...I've been doing it with her since she has been born.

I also cashed in the rest of my points everywhere and treated myself to a few ornaments and a poinsettia plant. GG also got a 'big girl' pink shovel. Free is good thumbup

It is storming out at the moment...and GG is making a small gingerbread house. Apparently Dec.12 is National Gingerbread house Day...thankfully I had enough notice lol I can't keep up with all these new things that come out.
