Good morning. Will Teddy ask about going to school after a bit of time off? It is Canada Day here but I will be spending the day with outdoor chores, my grass needs to be cut and it will be the first dry day within the week. We are also invited to a family barbeque for my cousin who is graduating from high school. I don't know if I will attend but GG is going with my mother for sure. There are also fireworks tonight...if the day is a good one I'll try take GG to it. It is an hours drive though. She'll probably be asleep by the time night fall hits and it is time for the display  I am off to cut grass and weed everything, have a good one.

Good morning. Everyone seems to be up and at the day today. I am glad it's Friday. I am glad it's July. It's going to be a good month.
Teddy won't ask after the school because he doesn't talk. He may wonder about it and manifest in some other way. But I won't necessarily know.

HI !! sorry it is so late. Valarie put brownies in the oven & then promptly fell asleep. I hope I did not over cook them....Time will tell. Fireworks--wow I so wish I could go to see fireworks. We used to go every year...now we never do. (no kids to take & Rod does not care) I hope you enjoy them, Sunny. I also hope that you got your outside work done. No relief today for me. I got hit hard in the gut today. So I've been worked on drinking lots of water and things to clean me out. I think I'm better now. But I didn't get much done today.

I hope you feel better today Tina  I am still waiting for a pic of Grandma Junie with her grandchildren I made 8 bottles of strawberry rhubarb jam last night and 7 bottles of strawberry....we are jam ready for Winter. (I always give away some from the first batch)

Good evening. Yes Tina, I grow red rhubarb...and usually all my own tame strawberries but this year they produced poorly, last year as well. I think it is time to buy new plants. I have been taking baby plants off the old for about 15 years. I put up the last of the trim on the eaves of my shed...I am all ready to paint and stain as soon as we get a few dry days in a row.

And good morning. I got up and got meds immediately. And I will crawl back into bed, I think. I'm sore and tired. I got some dead shrubbery cleared yesterday. I need to hire someone, somehow. I need the help.

I've spent part of the day cleaning up my kitchen. I don't have much energy for much else.I am about ready to hop in the shower. I want my hair mostly dry before I go to bed tonight.
I hope to scrape together the energy for all I have to do tomorrow. I can't believe how low my energy is these days.

Tina, do not over-do, you may not recover as fast if you do not take it easy for a bit.
I showered, & we got the girls ready & went to my DD's sister-in-laws house to celebrate her birthday....which was NOT today. 2 birds I guess....
Someone around here (my DD's house) was shooting off fireworks tonight. Val went out & said she could not see them at all, so I never tried.
Tomorrow is back to the usual. WOW !! I cannot imagine doing this for 1 or 2 more years. I will say though, they "all" were napping at the same time today for about 20-30 minutes, so that was pretty nice.

Junie, can you imagine...soon she will have to get all those babies ready for day care, then add a full day of working for herself...then back home to babies again. Tina, rest up...hiring someone is a good idea Today I have a meeting with the minister concerning our grandson's baptism..then have to take DD to Walmart for party supplies for his first birthday this weekend. I'll be gone all day. Have a good one.

yes I have noticed an echo as well....Summer does that it seems.
We took the girls over to 2 lady cousin's of Brian this evening. They did this so that Val could get a good quiet night's sleep.
That will be nice. Esp. since the girls kept her up from 1:30 to 5:30 last night. They then took turns getting up this morning.....: 7:30...8:30...9:00. then all took naps this afternoon. I am afraid they got their nights & days mixed up some.
I should be heading to bed soon as well. sweet dreams to you all.

Good morning. When one baby wakes, she wakes the rest. I have a friend whose relative had triplets...at last she separated the girls into different rooms I had the busiest day yesterday....on a good note, the shopping is done for the baby's first birthday and details are worked out for his baptism. Today will be a cooler day but it is a wet one.

No tips except hard work. I hate that part of painting.
My morning was good. My brakes are good to go finally. He also found a bolt in my rear tire so that is fixed now too. Then I got the shopping done. That should be done for a week or so. The only thing I didn't do was stop at Walmart for my pick up package. And that will wait for another day.
So a very good day. I'm thinking I should do some laundry soon. But first a little nap.

LOL...Valarie has all 3 girls in one room. She has to. They live in a 3 bedroom house. So They have one, henry has one & the girls have one. And that is why I am in one end of the storage room in the basement.
BUT I have a queen-sized bed, one wall done in mirrors, a table and a cloths hamper---so I am good. BUT they cannot separate the girls, not in this house anyway. There is talk of one day building a house, but I doubt if it will be a 6 bedroom house. (Master, boy's room, one room for each girl, & a spare room for "visitors"....
I had some time to play with Henry this afternoon. That was nice for sure.
I need to go to bed, but I am not tired....

Good morning. I enjoy a coffee in the morning also Tina, it is a good start to a day. I scraped what I could off the trim, the thing is the trim was grey and I want to go white...so I have to make sure that it is done well. DH thinks I should use the sander but I'd have to sit on the roof and lean over for that to work on the eave trim. I am on the top of the ladder using one hand to brace myself and one hand to scrape as it is. I'll be glad when I am done. I did manage to get two of the smallest walls stained as well Junie, I am glad you got in some 'Henry' time...is he adjusting well to the girls?

Great job with the staining, Sunny. It is just hard work, no matter what tools you use, when getting rid of chipping paint.

Henry is adjusting to the girls well. When we went to church last, a cousin of Brian's watched the girls for us so we could go...well, we were gone about 5 minutes, & Henry looked over, did not see his sister (one of the girls is in a car seat next to him) said "where Cora, Nora...Mommy we forgot Cora Nora".....Poor sweet baby. it took Val all the rest of the way to church to convince him it was ok, that they were home. He also tries to bring mom the car seat for sisters when we are going some place. Too cute.
BUT often he comes up & says "put, Cora, Nora, Heidi down" (covering his bases ya know) That means he wants one of us to do something for him. Really all in all he is doing well with new sisters.
I LOVE my coffee as well. Not getting it often now a days, but I will when I am back home.
Painting....UG ! I will need to paint the deck when I get home. (I may wait until fall) It was supposed to get a new coat of stain last year but obviously I was not able. So heat or not I must.....well, unless the can of paint advises me not to. Then I will wait until September.
I too am going to bed soon.

Tina, I have turned off the news...it is more than a person can take these days. The world is in such demise it seems.
It is still wet and gloomy out today...I have baking and cooking to do for my grandson's first birthday party tomorrow so that will keep me busy.

I looked around & I am not sure where to say either.
But, possibly Our Members Galleries ???
We went out to a free day put on by whomever today, in a huge air-conditioned gym with side rooms also, and the kids had a grand time. There was even 2 bouncy houses.
Once again I am not tired, but I should be asleep.

The old porch and steps were built in 1937 out of cinder block. Good morning. I think I just posted the pics in the Hollow Log. Those are some nice new steps that will last a lifetime I was so busy with preparing for the baby's birthday and tired after that I never came back in to post. It went well even though only a few showed up(sad part is that my daughter attends everything she is invited to)...she said it is a lesson learned. I'll post pics as soon as they are emailed to me

I got a few things done today. Teddy's hair is cut and mine. And we have showered and bathed. We have clean bedding. So the day wasn't completely wasted.

I will be awaiting the photos, Sunny. I am sorry that more people did not show up but hey---I am sure the baby still had a wonderful time. After all his Mom, sister & Grammy were there, and there was cake, right ???
Have a great time out Tina...It sounds to me as if you got quite a lot done for a week day, never mind a Sunday...I think you deserve a day of rest/fun.
We went to Church today, then out to eat (McDonalds) & then home & then after the kids nap time we went to see Brian's step dad's parent's. Shirley decided they needed to see them.
I am not tired once again..this really needs to stop happening...LOL

Well, I found the pictures of your steps, Sheri. They are quite awesome. I don't think they are off center of the door too much. It looks like they are off center specifically to leave a person room to step without without being swept off by the door. Well done!

Today I need to get a few things done. The laundry for one. And go pick up some groceries for another. Beyond that, I am not sure...

My DD that lives in Virginia just messaged me & asked that IF I was going to be in Cape, could she use ,my car that week, so that she & the boys would NOT have to drive Daddy to work all week.. Which tells me that they are going to be home..... and "WHY" I ask didn't she tell me this last week ??? I could have arranged for Rod to come get me this weekend, so I could see her and the boys....SMH going to watch my soap online---TTYAL

I went out banking and shopping. I have everything I need for a hot week to hole up indoors. But I want to do more shopping for clothes and shoes and things. That will be another day.

Sunny, I DID tell me daughter to come here & get me. She said she would LOVE to come (she has not seen the girls) but that she will not drive the 2 boys in a car the time it takes to get her & back then soon put them in car to drive home. Her DH is working that week in his old place of employment, so he cannot watch the kids for her if she were to come. So, I told her I wanted NOTICE the next time she was coming home..told her if I had of known I would have arranged to be home this coming weekend. Oh well, that is how she is. I am happy for you, that you got what of the shed done that you did, Sunny. I am sure the roof will wait on you, so not to worry. VERY cute grandson, Sunny. I think that picture is a keeper... Tina, when you are picking up Sunny's groceries, you may as well pick mine up. You can drop mine off either at my house or my Valarie's on your way to go to Sunny's  Clothes shopping---sounds like fun. I hope it is for you. I am headed to bed as well...night-night everyone.

Good morning. I tried to come in earlier but my computer was lugging down. I decided it was time for a reboot and I guess it was beyond time because it took a couple of hours with updates and such.

we had a nice visit with my mom, sister & BIL today.
Now val has 2 of her 3 college friends here on a visit...so I left them alone so they could all visit w/o a "mom there.

I hope the both of us get our cooler weather Tina, I need to go for groceries as well. It reached 110*F here with humidity yesterday...my peel and stick flooring is lifting everywhere in the house with the heat.  We have been getting thunderstorms every single day lately...I hope we get a dry day soon, I need to mow the lawn. Funny how the weeds seem to grow faster than the garden.

Well. I won't be going out today. I managed to order everything I wanted from Target. Now there is no hurry. Not that there was a rush for any of it. But so much of my life is backed up that I feel pressure on everything. Next up getting into my drawers and such to get rid of our raggedy clothing.
And lots of laundry. I send the things for charity clean.

110*F wow !! It has been in the 90's here, but would not know as rarely go out. They do have a outside thermometer on a window ledge though, so I know the temps. I do so hope that the weather calms down for you soon, Sunny.
If I cut grass, I would do it of the evening after 5 pm if it were me. Rod will not though as he doe snot have time to finish it all that way.

I did manage to get the grass cut...today I have ' weed wacking' to do. The weather today is cooler, chance of a shower as well to stir up the flies. We are invited to a wedding today (DH's distant cousin)...I have no plans to attend though. I'll just send a card with his sister. I plan to get a few minor repairs done outdoors today.

And I am done for the day. I worked on clearing more clothing. Some of it I have had for over 25 years. I don't throw out clothes very often. I haven't gotten rid of most of John's stuff and he's been dead over 7 years.
I'm making room for the stuff I've bought.

Carol is HOME ! and so is Emily & her family. They are staying at Chris's Mom & step dad so it is quicker for Chris to get to his job. ...he is home for a week to do whatever at his old job. Very tired,,,,,,going to pack Rod's bucket & then go to bed...nite nite !!

LOL here at Tina's comment. It is good to laugh. I slept until 10 am this morning. I would have slept longer, but I had a sinus headache. I do not feel tired, but I am having to make myself do what little I am accomplishing today.  The good news is all of my flowers, save my violet bed are looking very good. Mind you the weeds are horrid and my rocked area looks like a poorly growing gassed area..  Thank goodness we can still use round-up. But that will wait a day or 2 until I feel more like myself.

Actually he did not leave me a mess. (thank goodness) All of my flowers were alive and doing OK. My weeds were thriving also. (LOL) But, those I can deal with. Tonight I watered and weeded some. Tomorrow night will be weeding and tieing up flowers, as I am fresh out of trellises & such. Then I will resume weeding. But hey, that is the worse of it.. inside the house looks fairly good. I washed bed linen today & my clothes. I think I will need to scrub the kitchen floor and dust some but that is all. He has lost some weight, so getting him to gain that back is also on the agenda. Back in at 11:28 Good night, everyone sweet dreams !!

Good morning. Glad to hear things were o.k. Carol...a few pies might put a few pounds on DH quickly Tina, laundry is my agenda today...no rain and a good wind for the day. We had nasty thunderstorms last night, there was rotation in the clouds just a couple of hours from here but no touch downs. This is the weather we get in August...it is hitting early. I have more outdoor chores to attend to, my mother took GG for the night and the day today so I will put the 'kid free' time to good use.

Good morning. As much as I don't want to, I need to go to the store and buy some bread. So it is an out day for me. I've enjoyed not filling my tank for a couple of weeks.

Laundry is done here....for a bit anyway. that is a long time for a tank of gas to last, Tina. Congratulations ! We are having very high temps, now. it was not noon yet & the temps in St. Louis were at 100, so they are not much cooler here. (I am 45 miles NE of there) As a result, I may or may not go back out tonight to work on the weeds. we shall see. a kid free day...enjoy Sunny. No pies for Rod..but a cake perhaps, as that is his dessert of choice. Rod will be home soon..we are having left-overs supplemented with fried eggs. That was Rod's request..I hope he is still ok with that. I wish we had some tomatoes to go with, but sadly all I have so far are green ones.

we are to reach 100* here too, Carol. It is close now.
What a busy day. I drove through the car wash and filled my tank and went to a shoe store and got Teddy 2 pair and myself 2 pair. Then to the grocery store and got milk and bread and things. Then home and put all that away.
Since I've been home I called and made an appointment for tomorrow morning for my smog check on my car, canceled the insurance on Jonni's car and called to egg on my final reimbursement check from the school district. That makes for one tired mamma.
I'm going to nap.

Good morning...I hope today brings you cooler weather. We are getting the nicest winds...it is beautiful for working outdoors. I spent the day yesterday with a list of little chores...I am heading out in a bit to give the house shutters a final coat of paint. I am going from grey to brown. Today I need to make a run to the meat shop and the bank so GG will get a quick visit to the circus while it is in town. She only wants to ride the merry-go-round a few times than hit up McDonalds I hope you all have a good day ahead.

You ladies have fun on your outings. They both sound like fun.
I really do not know what is on the agenda today. Perhaps I will get the bedrooms ready for my DD & her family. That will leave tomorrow free to do some baking & such.
We had storms last night & early this morning. All we got out of I t was around an inch of rain, but some others in the area have gotten 3-4 inches. I guess we are the lucky ones. High today is to be 97*F.

I'll take you inch of rain off your hands, Carol. We're still in drought around here.
My van passed with flying colors and Sacramento has the results. Now I mail in my payment and I'm good for a year. Teddy had a good time.
Tomorrow Teddy is going with my oldest daughter to a large mall. The girls love it and Teddy loves it so that is good.

We needed the water too Tina. But if I could I would sure share with you.
I am glad that Teddy had a good time today. It sounds as if he will have a good time tomorrow as well.
I went grocery shopping tonight. I forgot to get the items for a fancy dessert for tomorrow night, so now I think my dessert will be Strawberry Shortcake. That is good to so it will all be good.
I think I will call it a day early tonight. Sweet Dreams.

Sweet dreams all. It was hovering around a hundred degrees out there today. We have a heatwave beginning tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that at all. I'm going to sleep while my evening is still cool.
