I was a little busy today. But not too much. I got some drawers cleared out. It was a needed job.

I did manage to get the grass cut...today I have 'weed wacking' to do. The weather today is cooler, chance of a shower as well to stir up the flies.

We are invited to a wedding today (DH's distant cousin)...I have no plans to attend though. I'll just send a card with his sister. I plan to get a few minor repairs done outdoors today.

Good morning. I was awakened by the phone in the middle of the night. Ack! But it was about a fire in my neighborhood so it was alright. It was about out by the time I was called. But I want to know when they happen so the caller was forgiven.
I want to go back to bed though. We'll see.

I am not sure what awaits today...it is supposed to rain for a bit this morning. I do have to measure the shed roof so we can estimate how many bundles of roofing are needed...we hope to be able to purchase them in August

And I am done for the day. I worked on clearing more clothing. Some of it I have had for over 25 years. I don't throw out clothes very often. I haven't gotten rid of most of John's stuff and he's been dead over 7 years.
I'm making room for the stuff I've bought.

Carol is HOME ! and so is Emily & her family. They are staying at Chris's Mom & step dad so it is quicker for Chris to get to his job. ...he is home for a week to do whatever at his old job.

I slept until 10 am this morning. I would have slept longer, but I had a sinus headache. I do not feel tired, but I am having to make myself do what little I am accomplishing today.

The good news is all of my flowers, save my violet bed are looking very good. Mind you the weeds are horrid and my rocked area looks like a poorly growing gassed area.. Thank goodness we can still use round-up. But that will wait a day or 2 until I feel more like myself.

I'm glad you got some sleep today. I'm sorry your sinuses are acting up. I hope you didn't come home to a mess to deal with.

Actually he did not leave me a mess. (thank goodness)
All of my flowers were alive and doing OK. My weeds were thriving also. (LOL) But, those I can deal with.
Tonight I watered and weeded some. Tomorrow night will be weeding and tieing up flowers, as I am fresh out of trellises & such.

Then I will resume weeding. But hey, that is the worse of it..

inside the house looks fairly good. I washed bed linen today & my clothes. I think I will need to scrub the kitchen floor and dust some but that is all. He has lost some weight, so getting him to gain that back is also on the agenda.

We had nasty thunderstorms last night, there was rotation in the clouds just a couple of hours from here but no touch downs. This is the weather we get in August...it is hitting early.

I have more outdoor chores to attend to, my mother took GG for the night and the day today so I will put the 'kid free' time to good use.

Good morning. As much as I don't want to, I need to go to the store and buy some bread. So it is an out day for me. I've enjoyed not filling my tank for a couple of weeks.

We are having very high temps, now. it was not noon yet & the temps in St. Louis were at 100, so they are not much cooler here.
(I am 45 miles NE of there)

As a result, I may or may not go back out tonight to work on the weeds. we shall see.

a kid free day...enjoy Sunny. No pies for Rod..but a cake perhaps, as that is his dessert of choice.

Rod will be home soon..we are having left-overs supplemented with fried eggs. That was Rod's request..I hope he is still ok with that.

I wish we had some tomatoes to go with, but sadly all I have so far are green ones.

What a busy day. I drove through the car wash and filled my tank and went to a shoe store and got Teddy 2 pair and myself 2 pair. Then to the grocery store and got milk and bread and things. Then home and put all that away.
Since I've been home I called and made an appointment for tomorrow morning for my smog check on my car, canceled the insurance on Jonni's car and called to egg on my final reimbursement check from the school district. That makes for one tired mamma.
I'm going to nap.

I never did nap today. So I am mighty tired now. Sweet dreams all.

Good morning...I hope today brings you cooler weather. We are getting the nicest winds...it is beautiful for working outdoors.

I spent the day yesterday with a list of little chores...I am heading out in a bit to give the house shutters a final coat of paint. I am going from grey to brown.

Today I need to make a run to the meat shop and the bank so GG will get a quick visit to the circus while it is in town. She only wants to ride the merry-go-round a few times than hit up McDonalds

I am going to go get my van taken care of today. And go shopping for some odd things I don't get to often. Teddy is going along. So we will have some fun.

You ladies have fun on your outings. They both sound like fun.

I really do not know what is on the agenda today. Perhaps I will get the bedrooms ready for my DD & her family. That will leave tomorrow free to do some baking & such.

We had storms last night & early this morning. All we got out of I t was around an inch of rain, but some others in the area have gotten 3-4 inches. I guess we are the lucky ones. High today is to be 97*F.

I'll take you inch of rain off your hands, Carol. We're still in drought around here.
My van passed with flying colors and Sacramento has the results. Now I mail in my payment and I'm good for a year. Teddy had a good time.
Tomorrow Teddy is going with my oldest daughter to a large mall. The girls love it and Teddy loves it so that is good.

We needed the water too Tina. But if I could I would sure share with you.

I am glad that Teddy had a good time today. It sounds as if he will have a good time tomorrow as well.

I went grocery shopping tonight. I forgot to get the items for a fancy dessert for tomorrow night, so now I think my dessert will be Strawberry Shortcake. That is good to so it will all be good.

Sweet dreams all. It was hovering around a hundred degrees out there today. We have a heatwave beginning tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that at all. I'm going to sleep while my evening is still cool.
