Good morning.

We got a break in the rain so I cut the grass yesterday afternoon/evening. I have to head out in a few with the weed wacker....and give the flies another lunch lol

I see everyone had a busy day yesterday as well.

GG and I have a baby shower to attend today after lunch...she is so excited. It is for a neighbor's daughter. There hasn't been a shower to attend in over a year.

Good morning. I am having coffee and thinking of going out to watch the sunrise.
A baby shower sounds fun, Sunny.

Good afternoon...coffee in hand is always good Tina.

I went to start the weed wacker this morning and the cord stayed in my hand rolz DH fixed it while I was gone so I will head out in a minute to use it.

I haven't been to a baby shower in a long while and things have sure changed. Gone are the days of diapers, wipes and such and in are the days of every pink tutu dress that can be found. I guess 'fun' has taken over 'necessities' these days.

Then they had this big tiered cake as a centerpiece and they didn't even cut it....we left with GG crying for cake. So now I have one baking in the oven as I have to make the cake that she didn't get to have lol

It has been a long day...I hope you are having fun with the pressure washer Junie grin

I went out on the east side of the house to help..all shaded this time of day--he had already soaped it and it had soaked.
But apparently "I am too slow"..LOL so I got fired. I told him when he needed a break I would take over for him.
Really it is not a bad job just tedious, I could have helped.

when he is done, I will go to get supper items.

WE ate out tonight. we were both too tired to wait for me to go shopping and then to fix dinner.

The House siding (& windows) are squeaky clean now. It is like Rod said:
WE didn't think it was so dirty until we see it now all clean.
I washed off the porch floor as well...THAT concrete looks so much better/cleaner also. why

I am going to call it an early night. G'nite & Sweet Dreams.

Good morning.

Junie, I can tell you from experience.....white siding is a real pain. I use dishwasher detergent and bleach to clean mine.

Nothing planned for today...it is still raining.

Good morning. Today I'm going to get us ready for school tomorrow. That is my only goal for the day besides the usual feeding and washing dishes, etc.
I hope you all have a nice day.

I had a bad morning. Rod doe snot like to go eat at a place that has a lot of people at it. after driving around today, & ending up at a grocery store with a deli..(I was not happy) I told him that ALL restaurants will be busy on a sunday. You will not find a empty restaurant like the fish pace was that we used to go to. he says well them I will learn to cook food myself.

NOTE: In 37+ years the man has not learned to cook---if he thinks I am cooking on Sunday's he will be eating cold cereal or lunch meat sandwiches that he makes for himself.

It is time to learn to cook then. He won't learn any earlier. I'm sorry your Sunday had such a beginning.
This town does not have moderately priced restaurants any more. In a town of 210,000 people the restaurants have mostly left town. In the sprawling 81 sq miles of the valley, there is only one area of restaurants and on the edge of town, fairly expensive ones. There are fast food places, however. I have to leave town to find some place to eat. It is sad.

Carol sometimes I get aggravated at Johnny too. He will eat out and sometimes fix his own food but a lot of times he'll say "are we gonna eat tonight?" Like his legs and arms are broken. Unless I'm feeling very nice my answer is usually "I plan on eating when I'm hungry. I suggest you do the same." I don't mind so much on the days I haven't worked but when I get home from work after he does it's aggravating.

Been up and outside. Thought my eye doctor appointment was tomorrow was today at 8:45. I called and they rescheduled for today at 3:45. Think I need glasses that are stronger than 1.50.

Tina, where I live doesn't have what I call "good" restaurants either. There are a lot of fast food places and The Olive Garden and a few steak houses. If we want healthy food we have to go into Charlotte and it's more expensive. We mostly eat at home. I talked to someone who used to work at Olive Garden and she said everything is packaged, not cooked fresh, which was upsetting to me. I guess you can't serve that many people if everything is individually cooked.

I like coffee shops and diner type places. It is just that my town doesn't have any. There is one Denny's and not much else because of the depressed state of our city's economy. Crime is on the rise and we've been declared California's most dangerous city because of that alone. Places like Marie Callenders moved away. And the mall in the middle of town has been closed for years now. Toys r Us even packed up and shut the doors.
Good thing I like to cook and it's much cheaper than eating out.

I am more concerned with the price. The place we have gone to for years, made some stuff fresh, & some was frozen plus they had had breakfast & lunch specials. BUT the owner retired a week or so ago. There will be a gourmet coffee shop open up in it's place soon.

But, there the 2 of us could get a nice filling meal for under $20.00. And it was not so noisy so we enjoyed ourselves as well. Those days are gone. BUT I will not cook at home on Sundays.--well, I will make a salad or pop a pizza in the oven for supper on Sundays, but, I am only 9 months younger than Rod..and I want a day off too. Even if it is only a partial day.

When it comes to other places to eat: there are 2 Chinese places, close, but they are not cheap...an Italian place--mid ranged, and then a plain & simple family type restaurant. BUT as it has a variety of foods and is local it is very busy, so not desirable to Rod...plus they just remodeled so the prices went up.
I eat there most Tuesdays for lunch with my ceramic friends, but it is too busy for Rod.
Other places we have to drive like 20 to 30 minutes..and it is not worth it to Rod. I guess he likes cereal. why

Also, there is a tavern that serves food, just a few blocks up the road from us, but we do not go there much--Rod can't seem to get past it once being the local, questionable, bar.....But that was then (when he was a kid) & this is now...
Really they may be a bar but they now serve more food than "beverages". My cousin's girl who just sold it, remodeled the whole thing & cleaned it up big time. And since it is the only food place in this town here, people use it more like a restaurant than a bar.

The food was good when Teri owned it--I can only assume it will continue to be the same.

Washing clothes today....

Hi all...just got power back. We are being hit with the leftovers from the latest tropical storm. I have a brook forming on my lawn, this will be another mess to deal with. Oh well, at least we have no trees close to our house to damage anything.

We have no local places to eat here either but the one place I love is where my daughter lives. It is a pizza/sub place...nothing fancy but two people can fill themselves for $20 and the food is delicious.

DH doesn't mind if I take a day off from cooking if I need to....as long as their is home made bread and leftovers from the day before lol That's what happens when they get spoiled.

I am just sad to drive around my hometown and see three quarters of it empty buildings. When Teddy is out of school we'll do our shopping in a different direction. School is the only reason we have to go that way.
I am home for the day. And I should be doing laundry. But I'm not. It'll be there another day.

Yea, Rod is real good about eating leftovers. And really if I put it in front of him he will eat it. The worst he comes up with is, don't make this for me again...you know like I would make 1 meal for him & another for me..LOL

but yes spoiled is the name of the game---My sister told me to "stop babying him" when we first got married...I thought what does she mean....well now I know----all the stuff a newly married girl did, is now what he has come to expect as normal & nothing special. oh well...it is what it is....

Tina, I have learned...that laundry will wait for you...and wait & wait....I really think it should learn to do itself... bow

Yes, laundry that does itself would be a good trick.
I still have to put dinner away but it was good. I am done for the night. And I have leftover meatloaf for the next couple of days.
