Do you do anything special for Easter?

I usually have a big family meal/gathering...but doubt it will happen this year. I am just to tired to deal with it all.

My nephew, who has a big house, and the smallest child in the family, & so would like to stay home, is having both sides of his Mom & Dad's family over for Easter. That would be fun, BUT Rod & I are going out to see Emily & her family. It is best as Valarie who usually comes home for Easter (it is one of a few that we get them in for) did not really want to leave the girls for a weekend. And I cannot Blame her.

I am looking forward to seeing my Grandsons. I am worried though that the little one (he is 17 months old) will not remember me. But oh well.

I usually bring the kids to the church across the street to their Easter Egg Hunt (and always end up having to dodge an ex who shows up even though she lives nowhere near it); but this year the kiddos are at their mothers houses for Easter (though occasionally it lands on my birthday, April 8th, like it was in 2012 and will be in 2018).

I don't have any small children at home. So the fun stuff passes us by. And that is OK. Teddy and I are going to be passing out food the those who need it. That is enough for us.

Tina, that is a good thing to do.

Junie, what I do since Colt lives far away is mail him stuff every once in a while. A card with stickers goes a long way with a little one.

Not sure what's happening around here yet. I think everyone is waiting for me to invite them here but Sunny, I'm with you, just too tired.

James are the children with their mom the entire weekend?

Sheri: I too mail off "care packages" to my kids periodically also.
This year though since I will see my youngest & her family, I will make them their usual basket. When I went to see my oldest I took them their "baskets" & left them there then. Henry actually has his basket that is kept here....

Luke must have his Easter Basket that matches the other 2 boy's baskets.

Micah's is in the basement & Luke's is not.

Turns out that I have Aubree for Easter holiday, I forgot that was even in the custody agreement until I was looking for something this afternoon and noticed it (it's not listed as a holiday for Trey's, forgot it was for Aubree's); but it's Trey's weekend with his mom, so he'll be back Sunday night, I'll just happen to have Aubree for an extra night, which is kind of cool. She's confused when she's here and Trey isn't, since their visitation times with weekends match up for the two of them.

James did you know I have an Aubry? And she has a friend named Aubree. They both have last names that start with an H. They were in the same class one year and the teacher called mine Aubry and the other Aubree Aubree. We still call her Aubree Aubree.

And I have a Darbi, who is my Aubry's 16 year old sister. Aubree Aubree's sister's name is Darby. She is 15. They both have the H thing too. Darbi and Darby played on the same volleyball team last season. Confusing to say the least.

That's funny, Sheri. I have a story like that as well. But I'll share it another time.

I didn't realize you had an Aubrey to go along with my Aubree, hehe; that's kind of cool. My business colleague Isaac likes Trey's name because he doesn't know anyone with that name.

That's a kind of cool play on names; two years ago, the school introduced Trey to the other Trey at the school, I had met his mom before (she's on the PTA) and I knew about him because I volunteer at the school when they need outside assistance (and being the photo day volunteer was kind of fun).

It seems when you choose a name for your child everyone else chooses it too.
